As of today 06/09/15 there is no working "Android TV" version of Netflix for the Razer Forge. On the Razer forums the staff keeps reiterating that having Netflix is one of their most important implementations, but nothing yet.
The available Nexus Player version(s) do not work by side loading on the Forge because they are a different architecture [Nexus Player is x86 (Atom) & Razer Forge is ARM (Snapdragon)]
I need someone to test (on the Razer Forge) the attached Netflix apk that I pulled off of my Nvidia Shield Console, which is also ARM, but 64bit. It came out of /system/media so I'm not even sure if you can place it on the forge without root.
If this Netflix is a 32bit compiled version maybe it can work natively on the forge or modified to work with it.
If not, it's hurry up and wait mode. My Razer Forge is currently at a relatives house else I would try myself, thanks for anyone that can give it a try or give some info of why it will / won't work.
Netflix.zip
Unfortunately, it doesn't work. It appears that the app cannot install.
Must not be the proper APK.. since the apk file is only 70kb..

For the entire ZIP, yes, it's larger. There's 3 files in the folder
arm< Netflix.odex
lib<arm<libgnustl_share.so, libJavaScriptCore.so, libnetflix.so, libWTF.so
Netflix.apk
And the apk file is only 37kb

No problem. I wouldn't know how to extract it, nor do I have a shield (yet... i'm leaning towards it because the Forge has disappointed).
But would be interesting to see if it does work.

Unfortunately i don't have the Shield so I can't do it. If anyone has both, or the Shield and could extract the apk I am more than willing to give it a shot.
I highly doubt this would work anyways.

Android 2.0.1-r5v0.6
Dead:
==============
After spending some time and looking over this rom and ways to make it work with out any legal issues. The most viable option was to build something like what cynanogen has built. His process takes the proprietary bits (all google apps including sync) and copies them off onto the SD card before doing a update. After the update it copies them back to the newly installed rom. This method basically does a automated backup/restore of your licensed applications. I can't do this for several reasons including that we are supposed to be coming from a 1.5 OS to a 2.0.1, which isn't compatible with the older application set.
Temporarily Offline:
==============
I am sorry to have to do this but we are now having more then just a small handful goofing with this ROM and I need to take this offline while I inspect each of the parts and make sure all licensing is in order since its a bit more then the google Opensource framework. I know that several other ROM creators have not paid much attention to it as I am going to now but I really don't want to upset any IP holders like what happened to Cynanogen a couple months back.
I will put it back up but I want to make sure that I am totally covered and don't have any issues.
version 0.6: download (offline)
==============
-fixed wifi thanks to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=593620
-Now starts up with Android stock keyboard. (No longer needs HTC_IME.apk for second keyboard)
A few have asked for this ROM so I thought I would put it up here for anyone that wants to contribute to or take from it.
This ROM is only compatible with the Sprint CDMA HTC Hero. It is not finished and still requires some work but its good enough for my day to day use and I am sure others may find the same potential.
This ROM is vanilla android and what it takes to actually get it running on a CDMA phone. It is built off of this GSM variant. I am going to try and work to remove the google bits so that you can use Cynanogens method of extracting your own and then doing a follow up update to install them. My efforts for this is not to build a better rom but to build a cleaner base that has limited to no proprietary IP.
Credits to all on this forum how have helped or contributed in any way to building the roms that are here. I would point out names but there are to many to name. I am positive that anyone that pays attention to this forum will know who you are. I used many parts of these ROM's and many others on XDA to build this one.
This is my first ROM and was primarily made for myself to help me learn how to create a custom ROM.
Here is the link to my blog where I originally posted about this and a video of it booting.
Here is the Youtube video of it booting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRTh-rXKe-E
*Warning*: Don't attempt to flash this ROM onto anything else unless you know what you are doing! I am not responsible for any device malfunctions or "Bricks".
Notes on Installing:
- Run a Nandroid backup before you do anything.
- Make sure you do a full wipe first. (Sorry )
- Run the update zip found * Version 0.6 *(offline) from the recovery console.
To get the HTC keyboard installed: (Now Optional as of Version 0.6)
- Follow the instructions here.
Things that don't work:
- Gallery some times has issues.
- Camera
- Wired or Wireless Tethering (Now Testing)
- Orientation
- Trackball light
- Trackball click (Rolling and moving are fine)
- (Let me know if something else needs to go here.)
Possible issues that are not repeatable:
- speaker not working on out bound calls? I made 30 test calls to my home phone and was not able to replicate this issue. Needs to be verified (see here)

So you installed both the HTC_IME.apk and the Clicker.apk? Did you do a adb push or a adb install?
Try and go into settings --> Language & Keyboard --> Touch Input --> Text Input?
I think its a force of habit with out really thinking to go there and calibrate but just going there may help.
Try that and let me know.
i just flashed it and pushed the keyboard and calibration app through adb and all is well. its working awesome. Thanks!!!

Thanks, but I really can't take to much credit. Its a "Pick and Pull" from several ROMs. This one actually came from our GSM Brothers and then I used the CDMA tricks in this form to make it work.
I keep watching and playing with the Google Nexus Dumps. I would really like to get one of them up and running.
Based on your posting and replies I assume you are re-using the 2.6.27 kernel like the other roms?

Wow thats allot in a little space.
What I gather is that it originally booted, then after trying to install via droid explorer and then astro it now just dies after the lockscreen.
I am not sure where to start. I would just say to do a full wipe, then a clean install. Then if you have the sdk try the ADB install method as Cynanogen's post talks about.
I am working on trying to get the stock Android keyboard to work. If we can figure out that then we don't have to mess with the HTC one.
ok i got it i just adb pushed them to system/app works great

Yeah, actually some of your work if I remember correctly, thats why its got the same issues. My first goal when I built this for my self was to get past the blasted google bits sync loop. The more I worked into it the more I moved on to the 2.0.1 build with some of your stuff in it.
Your welcome to anything I have learned, its really not my work.
Have got the version of flash that's in the CWM sticky, but noticed my N1 today got an upgrade, and am wondering if there is a way to pull that over to my G-tab? Or do I just need to be a little patent and someone will post an update in a day or two?

You can try but the flash seems to be device specific in some cases so it may just bork your flash. Make a backup so you can restore it if you try

Since you mention CWM I will assume you have root.
Get a free Dropbox account and install on your N1 and gTab. Then it's as easy as copying the Flash apk into the Dropbox folder on your phone and then downloading it from your Dropbox folder on your gTab.
Doesn't get much easier.
I saw the flash update on my N1 this morning. I read the release notes for 10.1.106.16. It states:
Flash Player (10.1.106.16) impacts new users only and is not a mandatory update for existing users. It SHOULD NOT be installed on devices/tablets with the NVIDIA Terga 2 Super Chip including the LG Optimus 2X, Dell Streak 7, and Motorola ATRIX. The pre-installed version of Flash Player is optimized for Tegra 2 (this is my addition... if only there was a pre-installed version of the Flash Player installed on the gtab...) Future updates will include these optimizations. If you are unsure as to whether your device includes the NVIDIA Tegra 2, please consult your device owner's manual.
Maybe the versions prior have the same stipulation I don't know (this is the first time I saw this), but it's probably best to stick with what works for now. Probably won't be a lot of change until the release with the official Tegra 2 support is made available.

hey guys, this is what I did on my fascinate to be able to get into netflix and be able to view movies without having that annoying device not supported pop up show up.
Change the build prop to this
ro.product.model=HTC Vision
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
and than install the netflix apk from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076150
make sure you install the apk that says mod to keep it from crashing.
Have fun
ok guys, I just got an error on my phone that says that they were unable to reach the server with a 1005 error while trying to load a video.
If anyone can try this build.prop that I changed a bit, I cannot try it on my device cause the netflix app gives me the message that I have reached the new device limit during 24hours period, but its the same device so it gives me a little hope. So if you try this build.prop please leave some feedback, thanks.
MAKE SURE YOU DO A NANDROID BACKUP!
Make sure you rename the file to just build.prop, remove the .txt at the end.
I don't use Netflix, but if this actually works, thanks for sharing.
Edit:
Well it clearly doesn't work. You blow.
I just tried it unfortunately it doesn't work getting the (1005) error, same as what I got with the stock prop.
I just tried with your build.prop as well, also getting (1005).

Same.need an update
While browsing for apps I came through a site called www.zuneboards.com and it had a program called Liberate for Zune HD. I downloaded the v1.6.2 zip and extracted it and copied to my HTC 7 Pro and tried to run the native executables. Most of them did not work but there was one named reboot.exe and when I tried to open it from the FileBrowser it actually asked if I wanted to reboot my phone and when I tapped on yes it did reboot.
There was another executable cabinstall.exe and when it was executed gave a message to double tap on the cab file which might mean that it we can open a cab file but need to set the correct registry path for the cabinstall.exe to be called when opening a cab file which I am not able to do.
Any help will be appreciated.
I am not sure what it means but is it now possible to make native executables run on windows phone 7? I am able to open Opera Mobile by ultrashot by directly running the executable instead of the opera launcher as well.
I have added the zip file which has the executables.
Are you on a custom ROM or a stock ROM? Native executables have been possible on custom ROMs for a long time, but if this works on a stock ROM... time to investigate.
EDIT: Your link is going to a 404 error page, not a ZIP file. Re-upload maybe?

I have updated the attachment. Should work now.
I am on a custom rom so I am not sure if it will work on a stock rom or not.
It uses executables built for WinCE 6.0. This is also a valid way to build native code on WP7 (WP7 uses a CE kernel version somewhere between 6.0 and 7.0) so it's no surprise that at least some of the apps will work.
Is there source code available for this hack? It would be interesting to see what they did. It's probably ZHD-specific (for the general unlock) but it *might* be useful for WP7 hacking too...

@GoodDayToDie I am not sure why the attachments are giving the 404 error.
Here is the link to mediafire http://www.mediafire.com/?4g82q2eoww16kgr
@GoodDaytoDie
Did you find anything interesting or useful in the source?
Not yet, but it was a busy weekend. I'm looking through a number of things at the same time and haven't dug into that one yet.
However, it's worth noting that the Zune HD uses a very different security model from WP7. I didn't do any ZHD dev or hacking, so I'm not entirely familiar with how its app model works.
Thanks for the source though! I'll dig into it further and let you know if I find anything. I may have to create an account on that other forum too; it looks like they're doing some WP7 hacking as well.
I tried sources in VS 2008. New project must be created from old source codes and main entry point must be added to properties/link/commandline option, or changed to wmain. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33649737#post33649737 , download zip.

I already sideloaded the apk and it doesn't work on S9/+. The app checks if you have a supported firmware.
I decompiled the apk on my linux machine and am searching where the check is being performed. to see if i can bypass it.
The response message you get is defined as a string that translates back to an id. This id i traced back to EntryActivity.smali alongside a const v2, whatever that might be. Inside this .smali file there are multiple references to versions, processor so this seems to be where the check is called.
Is there anybody here that actually has programming knowledge that could point me in the right direction on how to do this? I've never really looked into the inner workings of an app before, nor did i ever really program anything except some small python projects.

S9+ on Android P beta, signed up and accepted for LinuxOnDex beta, installed the apk from apkmirror, downloaded the image and extracted to LoD directory. On starting terminal mode I see this in logcat:
Code:

11-29 22:44:17.901 E/AndroidRuntime(23999): at com.samsung.android.lxd.a.g.a(ModelTypeUtils.java:40)
so it (was) in ModelTypeUtils.java which has been renamed to a method 'c' in class 'com.samsung.android.lxd.a.g'.
But, I'm going to guess that this needs root access to do its low-level linux things, so the edited apk might need to be signed by Samsung to work
Was super excited there for a moment, I downloaded and unzipped the file to the lod folder in my s9+. The app recognized the file and allowed me to create the container. For using linux visually I needed to use DeX but everytime i clicked run black screen appears and immediately crashes. If u r persistent it is just black screen with "please wait".

Generic with full support for DEX (android desktop works just fine)
I also use acrobat generic adapter with full support for dex, it could be that Linux on Dex it's only supported by the original adapters...
