[Q] Huawei G6- U00 problems with the notifications led - Huawei Ascend G6

Hi,
I have Android 4.4.2
The led on my phone used to blink whenever I got a message in Whatsapp, Line, missed calls and whatever.
After I rooted the phone it stopped working. I can play with the led through the 'brightness' file, in /Sys/ Class/ leds folder, but no application can trigger it. It lights only when I put the phone to charge.
I tried various led apps, that claim they can assist with the led, to no avail.
Can I config something in the aforementioned folder? Does anybody know how I can play with the 'trigger' file there? Is it a matter of security?
I looked over the Internet already, but there wasn't any constructive/ detailed help about messing with these files.
Cheers

Did you tried to return back to stock rom (without root), so you can confirm that it work for you?

Hi,
I didn't try to un-root.
I thought I could find some help to solve the problem.
Un-rooting is not an option for me.

So I eventually flashed the rom again and I got the notification led working again, but now I can't manage to root my phone

LED problem after 4.1.2 update

Hoping for some assistance in solving an annoying problem. After updating my rooted XT926 to 4.1.2 last week, I have noticed strange behavior from the LED notification light. I have noticed this on 3rd party apps (such as Tweetcaster, Go SMS Pro, Enhanced Email) as well as stock apps (such as Gmail and the native SMS app). When I get a new text message, email, whatever, I will hear the notification sound but the LED does not activate. I have left it alone for as long as 30 minutes after hearing the notification sound, but no LED light. All the notification settings in each individual app are set as they should be. When I turn the screen on, the light will then blink once. While the screen is on the light will not blink (which I understand is normal), but as soon as I turn the screen off (as long as I didn't clear the notification) the LED will start blinking as it should.
The LED worked fine before the 4.1.2 update. I rooted using mattlgroff's utility, and used voodoo rootkeeper to protect root during the OTA. I have tried using Light Manager and Lite Flow; neither solved the issue. Using the test features in both these apps, I was able to get the LED to display each supported color, but it wouldn't work in "real life". I have factory reset the device twice, and I reinstalled all apps manually. I also tried the Motorola Notification Light Widget from the Play Store, with no luck. If unrooting would help in solving this issue, I would not be opposed to that as I was considering unrooting before taking the most recent update. But, I do not know of a way to unroot besides mattlgroff's utility, which apparently is not currently possible after the 4.1.2 update.
I would be very grateful if someone could shed some light on this issue. Thanks in advance!
UPDATE: After doing a full SBF and reformatting the SD card, I am still having this issue. Am I the only "lucky" one?

[Q] Blinking LED

I don't know if this is a standard feature of the device, but when the phone is in standby, ie. the screen is off, the LED continues to flash the whole time.
Went into settings > Display, Gestures & Buttons > Notification Flash and un-ticked everything. Yet it continues to flash.
Also when the screen first turns on and I'm on the home page, it will continue to flash until I pull down on the status bar. Strangely I must do this every time whether there are messages, alerts and so on that need to be cleared or not. Leave the phone for 30 seconds, the screen turns off and the LED starts to blink again ...
Could someone please tell me how to stop the LED blinking? Its getting annoying thinking there's a message or something.
Thx
If you used moonshine to achieve S-Off then that could be the issue as it was for me as well. Even better my problem went as far as blinking when the battery would die on me and even after taking it off the charger it would still blink but would refuse to turn back on. I would have to remove the battery in order to start it up. However, I just downgraded my device from JB to ICS then back to JB while still keeping S-Off but removing moonshine. Now the phone works fine. Another issue was with those pesky busybox market apps. They don't function well especially if you try to restore or uninstall them. Thankfully, I have a stock JB backup for my future endeavors. I'm not sure what all you have done to your device but if you went about it with moonshine then my bet is on that lol. Again, I am only assuming.
Hey thx for the reply. This phone isn't S-Off or moonshined either. Its rooted, but doesn't even have a custom ROM.
I might scratch it and do a fresh everything and see if that sorts it out. Maybe try a custon ROM before that to see if it sorts it out.
Thx again

Sounds good. If you resolve the issue post back here with the info for the masses. You just never know who else might need the help

[Q] Phone only rings for about one second and then stops.

After upgrading to lollipop, I have noticed when recieving a call that sometimes my phone will ring for about 1 second and then stop but continue to vibrate. I am not using any quick cover or anything. This doesnt happen all the time but it does happen quite often. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm completely stock on 5.0 (i have deleted my cache partition and the problem still persists)

No, just the stock tones. I find it happening sometimes with my SMS messages as well but not all the time.
Update: I have since unlocked my bootloader (wiped) and rooted my phone and the problem still persist. Seems like I'm not alone, I have starred this so hopefully someone can see it. https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=81178#makechanges
Anyone have any suggestions that I could try?
update
I had thought I had fixed the problem by re flashing the stock image of lollipop, the problem went away and my phone started to ring again but shortly its back to only vibrating. I noticed that the little vibrate symbol was popping up in the status bar whenever I received a call, even when I turned off the also vibrate for calls option. I then remembered that when I use the volume butler app and set it to my vibrate profile that symbol would also pop up. I uninstalled volume butler and everything seemed to be working fine. Next I Checked the play store for comments regarding the issue and I noticed two things: There was a recent fix "ringtone changing to silent upon first install" and it said that the app was installed onto my device and not requiring an update even though I had just uninstalled it. So I decided to open it up and it was as if I was starting the app for the first time as none of my previous data was in there for testing purposes I decided to set up the same profiles that I had before and try calling my phone and my phone rang like it should, weird. Perhaps I had two versions and that was the one that I originally uninstalled is that even possible?( I could have sworn I had updated it,as it was under the up to date app list) Regardless, I uninstalled it again and everything is still working as it should. Hoping that this was was the culprit I will continue to test my phone and see.

Notification led always on

Hello, i recently bought an Idol 3 5.5 and so far im very happy except for one thing: the notification light keeps always on, i tried everything (disable all notifications, reformatting the phone, uninstall all non stock apps, etc.) and the problem persists, the led is always on unless i turn the phone off.
The recent ota updates didn't fix anything, so if anyone had this same problem or know of any possible solution please share it, i wouldn't like spending one month without my phone while it's serviced.
Thanks.

Did you try toggling notifications on and off again? This is not a subtle IT Crowd joke, it's something that has actually worked for me with another setting on this phone.

SOLVED - 3rd party LED not showing killing me

I had been a very satisfied user of Lightflow receiving tons of notfications a day, it was essential for me to look at my phone and based on the colored LED notifications I was able to tell if I have received anything important.
One day I had to factory reset the phone since it was just showing the blue LED with a black screen. Ever since that I am unable to make Lightflow or any other 3rd party LED solution to work. All I have is just the red LED charging light nothing else.
I have contacted the developer of Lightflow to help with the complicated settings but no luck.
It looks like something just blocks the 3rd party apps to access the LED.
I have looked into all the possible apps, that could use, hence block the LED such as Messenger, Whatsapp, Viber, Nine, even the stock apps such as Email, Skype etc and everywhere I have switched off the LED management. Deleted Galaxy Button Manager. Still no luck.
I am on 6.0.1. I know that there could be something in the settings, I just could not figure out what. When I restetted the phone it imported the settings from an old backup I guess.
Settings / Display / LED is of course ON. Could be the Notification Reminder? I have tried OFF and ON as well. I have tried everything in the last two days, including LED Blinker Pro with all the recommended settings, read the relevant forum topics, but no luck. :crying:
Would any of you have the same problem? An idea?
Would you share your phone / Lightflow settings with me?
Thanks
Consider this solved.
Since I had the factory reset the s6 the phone restored an old version of accessibility settings from an earlier saved settings saved in my Samsung account I had to factory reset the settings manually from the menu. This finally cleared something blocking the LED and voila everything is back to normal.
