First time you boot in recovery will be a touchscreen calibration set up: you have to touch three times the red square. Also, first time you do a backup, it will take a little longer time, because it will be create directory structure and free up the space. After that it will be a joy, is fast, is powerfull, is full of options and is funny. Or if you don't have an sdcard inside your phone, you don't have to go through this

[Script]Auto Splash Flasher By Pavelol

Hi Guys.
A few years ago i made a few scripts for HTC Sensation, my scripts are 100% noob proof, it's almost like Plug&Play.
And here we go again with another one!.
This script will automatically convert your splash.bmp into splash.img, Zip it and flash it right away.
With this script you can also backup your current splash and in the next versions i have a few useful ideas
how to make it even more awesome by adding a new options and still the guiding code is: "Plug&Play".

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So What you need in order to run this script:
1. S-OFF!!!
2. HTC drivers installed.
3. Any kind of Windows machine
4. USB Debugging turned on.
5. And the attached file below.
How to:
1. Unrar the package into one folder.
2. Connect the device with a high-quality USB cable
2. Run the file: Auto Splash Flasher By Pavelol.exe
3. Follow the instructions of the script.
4. have fun
P.S
The script should work on all the M8's variants!

[Completed] CWM Recovery for I-Ball Andi 4.5q and other MTK devices

HI THERE,
I m KARAN DEWANI and this post is for those who want a CWM recovery for their iball andi 4.5q and mtk firmware.
Any Android devices today has their own in-built CWM recovery utility ,through which can u install Rom, backup your old stock firmware and install a new one.
To boot into recovery, you just simply have to switch off your phone and then hold power button as well as the volume down button(in my case power + volume up).....
I-Ball andi 4.5q does not have an inbuilt CWM recovery as it is based on an old MTK firmware, so you cannot
do any tweakings like creating back up,etc.
Hence,carliv has made a recovery for mtk firmwares.

[CWM|ROOT] Install ClockworkMod and root Alcatel OT-5038A

Been scratching my head on this one for a day or two, as while Kinguser/Kingroot works on my phone, it just doesn't cut it in my case and I wouldn't want to put my trust on something that's of dubious repute. Not that I am laying smack on the Kinguser team though, it's that I'm more confident with something the Android community is vouching on for years.
Things needed:
MTK Droid Tools
A working 5038A stock ROM. This image taken off a Smart-locked phone may work.
The latest SuperSU flashable image
Your phone
ADB drivers, and some patience
So what I did was this: Fire up MTK Droid Tools, and click on the Root/Backup/Recovery tab. Click on the Recovery and Boot button, and it'll ask you for a boot image from the stock ROM. Click Yes on the message box that shows up, and if done correctly you'll end up with a fresh recovery image on the recovery folder. Open SP Flash Tool, load up the scatter file from the ROM you just downloaded (or backed up), then load the recovery image you made earlier. You can either flash the whole ROM along with the CWM you did, or just the latter:

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Once all that's done, boot to recovery by holding Volume+ and Power. Select the SuperSU package from your SD card, then let it do its thing. If done correctly, SuperSU should work properly on your device. Make sure to untick Mount namespace separation on the SuperSU settings menu for Titanium Backup to work correctly (c.f. djranoia).
You can try this image I made just in case; I can't guarantee that it works on any Alcatel OT-5038A out there though.

I don't take credit for all of this, but I'd just like to share this tip in case you feel like doing things the hard way.

Hi fellas, as we all know there are so many custom recoveries available for android devices. Like CTR, Twrp, Philz, CWM, and COT. These all are custom based recoveries for android. And most of them are based on CWM recovery which stands for ClockworkMod.
Today we'll discuss about custom recoveries on Mediatek Android devices. Like MT6571/72/80/81/82/92 etc. And according to source there are three ways to have a custom recoveries. They are:
Compiling Recovery from source
Porting Recovery to your device (which is explained in this post)
Auto Port using Recovery Porting Tools (which does not work now)
How to port? Full Instructions given below:
Download CTR from this link: Click here. Download TWRP/COT/philZ from any mtk device with same resolutions.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Make sure you have your stock recovery.
Now download Carliv Image Kitchen from here
Extract this tool in one folder.
Put the images [carliv and stock] in recovery-resources folder of extracted carliv recovery.
Now follow the on screen process and extract/unpack stock recovery
Now open the folder of stock recovery folder and open ramdisk folder.
Copy these files from stock to carliv/other recovery:
>meta_init***.rc
>Factory**.rc
>ueventd.rc
>fstab**
Open etc folder and copy recovery.fstab file too from stock to carliv/other recovery.
Now go back and copy these files from stock to carliv/other recovery:
>kernel.img
Now open Carliv.bat file again and Repack the Carliv/other recovery.
You’re done! Now try flashing!
