OD3 FUll tar link
Hi Maybe i missed this but i do not see a link to the 'full tar' anywhere on this thread or in the Sprint Galaxy s5 development threads. i used odin to flash the od3 lollipop kernel then installed the deodexed zip (after wiping of course) but it hangs on the 'Samsung Galaxy s5' screen indefinitely. any advice?
nevermind, i found the full tar link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...nt/od3-stock-tar-file-odin-flashable-t3128657 not posted in thread but it is in the Sprint Galaxy S5 Lollipop dev list.
Hi there. I went to recovery and wiped the phone and partition. Then i updated with the od3 zip file and then reboot the phone. Everything loaded up fine even though when it was installing there were a couple of errors with signature and something else. Anyway it stuck on the sprint screen then i rebooted it and everything loaded up fine. But the phone is not rooted. The thread i downloaded from said it was a rooted stock rom. Super user said it could not find the binary. And i used root checker and it said it is not a rooted device. I then rebooted again and the same thing is still happening. Im not sure what im doing wrong or where to go from here. Please help. Thank you.

In the od3 tar link i posted above, a couple posts down it is mentioned that the tar is not rooted but some had advice with chainfire's root and something else, check the link i posted. it is also noted that once the od3 firmware is installed, it can't be flashed back to previous firmware. hopefully you have success with rooting!
Still shows as OA6
After flashing the zip as per the instructions, my software version and baseband version still shows OA6. The build number does show OD3. Is this correct?

Yes it is.
I'm not seeing the wifi calling icon. Do i need to flash something for this?

Forgive my ignorance. .. I'm somewhat new to a lot of this. What do you get from flashing the OD3 modem? A noticeable difference in reception or just knowing you have the latest modem firmware ?

New modems may strengthen signal, I've got better signal from new and from old modems before. And I accidentally hit the thanks button, lol.

@brooks1005
IF you want baseband at OD3.... download the odin modem.tar file at bottom of @tdunham post HERE to your pc...
Pull your battery out. wait a few seconds. put battery back and boot into odin/download mode. vol down+home+power
then use odin to flash the tar...it will work. You will now have OD3 baseband.
Just note that it's been said that once you go to OD3, you will not be able to downgrade it again... so ???
Battery life with OD3 Android L Deodexed?
Wondering how the battery life is with this ROM compared to OA6?

I updated my SGS4G to GB ROM and rooted as provided on this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1128412
All working fine till now EXCEPT for CALL LOGS. There are no call logs!
Here are the symptoms:
a. missed call gets registered - working normally.
b. calls made won't register - Call log empty.
c. calls received won't register - Call log empty.
Is it just me or everybody is facing the same problem?? Please and Thanks in advance!
How do I fix this issue?
P.S: Non-rooted GB ROM also showing the same symptoms, not that the rooted ROM has anything to do with it, just mentioning.
~Androcton.
Call Logs working fine with me, installed busybox and root is confirmed. Although I am having problems with the Bluetooth icon in the Notification area, everytime I click it it force closes and hides my notification bar

KF2 Update
Updated to KF2 and there seems to be a couple fixes including the bluetooth crash fix.
One issue found both in KF1 and KF2
Connect a regular headset to SGS4G phone and the inbuilt microphone gets disabled, the other party can’t hear you talking at all. Ideally, the phone microphone should be enabled if it detects a regular 3.5mm stereo jack. And it should disable the microphone only when it detects the handsfree with microphone. It should be able to do this. Froyo didn’t have this problem. This is an injected defect in Gingerbread.
No call logs
i have updated my firmware to gingerbread and now i have no call logs on my phone ....
Galaxy S 4G
Incoming calls are registered but outgoing are not.

Try the VUVKF2 ROM - some fixes from KF1 and the call log issue sure looks like it is fixed
Also FYI,,, the music playing when i remove/plugin the headphone glitch has also been removed....
Running the VUVKF1 gingerbread rom and the call logs are fine. Didn't notice that the bluetooth button in the notification bar caused FC until brought up lol.
Where do i get it?
Is there stable KF2 Firmware that i can use ?
And where can i get it ?
The one that i use is from samfirmware.com
It says that it is a T-Mobile FW.
Can some one point me to a KF2 FW that is from T-Mobile?
Also is there a way to go back (Just in case) to Froyo 2.2.1 that i had before ?
Thanks Guys!

There is a stable KF2 from Tmobile( more stable than KF1). Here is the link below.
Leaked KF2 ROM with all bloatware from T-Mobile
--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1139326
The procedure you have to follow to root is here,
(but download the KF2 ROM package from the 1st link)
--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131230
Finally to root KF2, use the zimage-root-patch from this link
--> http://pradeepclicks.com/sgs4g/zImage-root/zImage
Follow everything to the letter from link 1 and you should be all fine.
Note: If you face problems getting into download mode using the Vol-, Vol+, USB cable method, Follow one of the methods mentioned in this link below.

OK, so if i do not have to root, i can just flash my device with odin?
There are 2 files in the rar, one is the rom and the other is DLL
So how do i use this exactly, what options should i check in odin?
I have the KF1 installed, if that helps.
THANK You.

Yes, You can just flash the ROM with ODIN, exactly like you did for KF1, except for the bootloader part, which will NOT be present. KF1 bootloaders are just fine. Just keep in mind that to get to the download mode is a little different because GB has a changed key sequences Refer to the link that I posted earlier if you face problems getting into download mode.
There are 2 files in the rar, one is the rom and the other is DLL
I am not quite sure which package you picked up, if you downloaded from the link I posted, you would be getting a *.tar.md5 file which you would be 'ODIN'ing like you did for KF1.
So how do i use this exactly, what options should i check in odin?
Exactly like you did for KF1.
I have the KF1 installed, if that helps.
Personally, I prefer heimdall, because you know what exactly you are flashing because you are selecting it manually each time ( like modem, cache, zimage, etc etc)
Again, the SGS4G BIBLE is the perfect thing for you to start. ODIN or HIEMDALL - it describes you how to go about it.

I am very grateful for your help, but this last post just got me more confused than i was before.
When i flashed the first time there were more files so i saw this guide :
droidangel.blogspot.com/2011/06/how-to-odin-flash-updateupgrade-samsung.html
It showed me what options to select in odin and what files to pick.
This rom has 2 files, so its different, all i need to know is how to use what i have.
The link you gave me is awesome, but it just confusing me with this endless info about everything. it is hard to find what i need to do EXACTLY in my current situation.
Can you please just tell me what options to select in odin ?
THANKS.

Ok, here it goes, the SS_DL.dll is useless, as far as I know. You can ignore it. And you can procede with the flash using the other file *.tar.md5 . And follow the instructions provided in the link that you followed earlier to flash KF1. That should get you going. Hope it helps.

I am sorry to noob like this, but those links were instructions to use some update.zip and to root.
I just need an instruction to flash it with ODIN.
Should be simple instruction : select this and that and click start.
I already know how to go to download mode and everything ...
Just the options in ODIN.
Do i select this file as Bootloader or Phone ?
I have now the KF1 does t mean that it wil use bootloader of KF1 or do i get new one here?
Why sometimes its several files and sometimes its just one?
Thanks, i hope that i am not getting on your nerves, but you WILL help me i know!

Yes, you will receive and be able to install the OTA (if you also have the stock recovery) but you will loose root though.
Thanks alot for your kind reply.

The Helpdesk thread must have been un-stickied in the last few days, because I saw you give this answer several times but had to go digging to find it myself.
There's conflicting information out there -- I've spent hours reading posts here but have had some places tell me that I *can't* get an OTA update when rooted, while some tell me that I *can*. I think the nuance is the problem. It sounds like OTA will work, but only if you haven't changed any system files, and also will wipe out your root and custom recovery. Still, I'd rather have to re-root than to manually update.
The best solution is the one that gets me from "rooted, stock version X" to "rooted, stock version X+1" in the least amount of time!

Good to know. So, I'm getting an N5 in the next week or two (shipped today, but has to be forwarded overseas by a relative ) and want it rooted, stock. Best bet is to OTA update (if it doesn't ship with 4.4.2) -> unlock bootloader -> install CWM -> install SuperSU? Then, next time Google issues an update, download the OTA ZIP and install it from CWM?
Won't that remove CWM and root, like I was saying? Or is there some version of the "stock image" I can download that doesn't overwrite recovery and/or the su binary/APK?
What you've said is correct, and then after an OTA just reflash CWM* and then re-root it - takes all of 30 seconds if you have the image on your computer
*CWM might give you the option of removing the stock recovery reflash script before rebooting, so say yes to it if it mentions it

The following files will enable tethering on your I337. Make certain that you use the version applicable to your current build and only use on stock ROM. Use on custom ROM's may cause issues with the ROM. Proceed at your own risk!
Note: This will modify your system causing future ota updates to fail!
Here they are:
I337UCUFNI1_Safestrap_TetherAddOn.zip
(To undo the mod flash the I337_NI1_TetherAddOn_Revert-to-Stock.zip using the same instructions below).
I337UCUFNC1_Safestrap_TetherAddOn.zip
I337UCUFNB1_Safestrap_TetherAddOn.zip
Instructions:
1. Root your device(See Post #2 for rooting options).
2. Install the latest Safestrap.apk.
3. Place the applicable Safestrap_TetherAddOn.zip on ext sdcard.
4. Reboot into Safestrap Recovery and flash the Safestrap_TetherAddOn.zip in Stock Slot (Do Not Wipe Prior to Flashing!)
5. Reboot. Done!
NI1, NC1 & NB1 Rooting Methods
NI1 Users: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/how-to-root-i337ucufni1-t2881298
NC1 Users: Use Towelroot.apk
NB1 Users: Flash the NC1_Stock_Kernel in PDA Slot in Odin(AP in Odin v3.09+), then use Towelroot.apk to root your device. (Optional: flash the NB1_Stock_Kernel once rooted).
Alternatively, flash the I337UCUFNB1_4.4_Rootable_Stock_Odin_tar to get back to factory stock NB1 then use Towelroot.apk to root your device.

Most custom roms already offer tethering built in. Also they may already have a modified framework-res.apk(which these files replace) and may cause issues. So to answer your question I recommend only using this hack on stock.
I have an att i337 stock mf3, rooted using towel and su access. unlocked sim using tmo sim, which file should i download? also im on 4.2.2.. or if i update to atleast 4.3 with the newer modem will that fix this problem?

I'm surprised that you are one of the few that still has att i337 mf3 phone. if so, stay on it, root it and disable the update. else, you'll lost pretty much everything unless something else happen. however, the only thing i can recommend is that you follow another guide that can do it or use foxfi and the paid key.
Holy crap dude! Super cool! If only I didn't have a faulty motherboard everything would be almost perfect, only thing I I'm missing is wifi calling but whatever. I'm gonna have to live without it cause the tmobile roms just don't work for me. Thanks so much man! Hey you think tmobile detects this? I have 3gb free a month.

Correct. Installing safestrap will not wipe anything.
Awesome, installed without issues.
The connection does appear to be quite a bit slower than using the previous theringprovision.apk with 4.2.2.
Would flashing a different modem help this?

Nope just flash over previous version.
Flashing it now, I'll get you an update in the morning.
Edit: Seems quite a bit faster after flashing the new file.
I wish I had done a speed test first but the results below are from my second install
36.64Mb down 12.95 up.
Once I rebooted I got the message "Safestrap disabled"
is that ok? I noticed the security policy in the 4.4.2 update with Samsung seems to like the ban hammer with alot of rooted stuff.

I don't know what kind of LTE speeds you normally get in your location but those speeds that you posted are more than decent. And I wouldn't worry about the safestrap disabled message, that's normal. I definitely made a mistake when compiling the first version of the tether add on but this latest version is definitely correct enjoy.

Is there a new version of PingPong that I would need to root OE2? I currently have beta 6. If so, where can I find it?
Thanks,
"SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless" "Unauthorized actions have been detected."
So I followed the instructions explicitly. I now have the following two errors upon booting:
1. SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless
2. Unauthorized actions have been detected. Restart your phone to undo any unauthorized changes.
I'm currently at work and can't do anything until I am at home on WiFi. Anyone know what my course of action should be?
So Instead of following instructions...
I just flashed this using flashfire and now my phone is saying my SIM card is not for Verizon... Little help?
Edit: I used the ODIN'd stock file and am in good shape now. I need to not be so impulsive.

I was on 1.5 then dirty to 1.1, but on both Roms, smart stay didn't work. No biggy, but was wondering if anyone else had this issue? 1.1 is sick as tits btw ?
Flashed - now I'm getting an error
I'm getting hot reboots and invalid SIM card errors after flashing
So I was on CleanRom (most recent one. Can't remember the build # maybe 1.2?)
Then I got the new Galaxy Gear VR Goggles (FYI, They're freaking sweet!) But they wouldn't work with CleanRom, so I had to go back to stock. I just used flashfire, and now I'm up and running, but just got an OTA. Is it safe to install or should I not install the OTA? If I don't install OTA, how can I get rid of the notification for more than 24hrs? Thanks for any help guys ?

Well... I've been an idiot.
I recently rooted my Galaxy S7 device whilest scanning the xda threads for a custom ROM.
I flashed Lineage OS 15.1 custom ROM. Everything awesome so far. Except... I didn't like the visual estate of the ROM.
So next step, I flashed the Superman ROM 3.0.1 FINAL. this is where things went wrong.
When i booted up my phone after flashing Superman ROM I lost my IMEI & baseband (both say "Unknown").
I tried to flash stock ROM and ended up with 2 "unknown" IMEI's whilest my phone is a single SIM device.
After that I wiped the lot, flashed Lineage again and still no luck. Although with lineage I have my single IMEI which is still "Unknown".
I've tried flashing stock the correct stock roms but whenever I try to flash the via Odin I get a fail after "sboot.bin".
Odin won't go any further.
So in short, I currently have my device unlocked, rooted, with lineage OS15.1 but no cell service due to
IMEI and baseband being "Unknown".
Any idea's how to fix this?
I've tried the guide with the title "[GUIDE] How to fix IMEI / DRK issues [ALL MODELS][COMBINATION UPDATE 03 NOV 2017]"
But no luck. I can't flash stock firmware due to fail after "sboot.bin" both with stock firmware and the combination file
given in the thread.
Now as part of me being an idiot, I have not made an EFS or baseband backup, nor have I got a Smart Switch backup.
I'm also not capable of finding a person with the Z3Xbox.
Kind regards!
Did you try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/guide-how-to-fix-efs-damaged-samsung-t3850032
Thanks for the reply! Yes,I've tried that guide too. Problem is that I can't flash anything but twrp through Odin. All the rest fails at "sboot.bin". I'm still trying to download latest stock firmware but all the sites are sooooo slow if you don't pay premium... So I'm still waiting for that file to download. I've tried to flash older stock firmware but didn't get past " sboot.bin" and I've read somewhere that since Oreo Samsung doesn't let you flash old firmware on the phone. So that is at the moment my only hope that I can think of.
Make sure you have the latest version of Odin...you can use updato for faster downloads

I've used different versions of Odin (v3.12, v3.13, v3.11) and I can only download at 50kb/s with updato. They changed there policy. Donate for premium download speed.
I also went to a repair shop today to ask if they knew any solution. The repair guy I talked to didn't know what root or rooting was so that's a dead end...
Oh ok I am kinda running out of ideas I didn't know updato changed their policy....there is a thread on the forum with the stock roms that people shared you might get better speeds using that...also one last thing you can do is use smart switch there is an option for firmware recovery or something like that try that and see

Thanks for helping though! Every helping hand is welcome! Smart switch recognizes my phone but if I select to recover firmware it doesn't recognize my phone because of the lost IMEI. So downloading to recovering stock firmware from samsung is difficult!
Did you try version 3.13.1 of Odin some people that had the same problem as you said it worked for them and also what model of s7 do you have

Jep, exact version that I used. I have a Samsung galaxy S7 unbrandend from Belgium. (SM-G930F)
Just read through your post again the superman rom is using the new bootloader 3 and as far as I know you can't downgrade to a bootloader 2 do you get a binary error in odin when you flash? Just trying to figure out what is going on when it stops at sbin
This is the latest rom for your country I know is branded as you can see but is the new bootloader 3 ...G930FXXS3ERI1 - GALAXY S7 SM-G930F PRO BELGIUM (PROXIMUS)
Found it on Sam mobile did you flash that one?

That's what I was thinking. I've read the exact same thing yesterday. So I started downloading the firmware you just mentioned and the PHN Netherlands one. If one fails I've got another to try. Problem is, with those magnificent download speeds, it takes 24hours to download one of them (yeeeey 50kb/s!!!!!) It should be on my hard drive by tomorrow.
I'll keep you posted if this gets me past the Odin troubles!
I really appreciate you thinking along with me good sir! Thanks for your suggestions!

I did exactly the same mistake as you (Lineage, Superman ROMS) and even bricked it trying to fix it!
The reason for that error code in my experience was that I was attempting to put the original firmware on the phone. Thanks to XDA forums and about a week of reading I realised that I had the Oreo ROM on the phone before all this happened, so I did what the poster above recommends and used the latest Odin and the latest firmware for your country from Sammobile. Bam! My S7 is running better than ever!

You guy's are all amazing! Thank you so much!
Today I had the chance to flash original firmware to my phone. Flashed latest stock firmware from Holland (because Belgium firmware was branded and my S7 was unbranded).
Rebooted the phone, filled in the start menu's went in to settings and BAM, lost IMEI was lost no more!
Inserted my SIM card and had 4G connection! I didn't even had to flash the COMBINATION file.
I learned from my mistakes and immediatly flashed TWRP and made an EFS en IMEI backup!
Again, thank you so much good sirs! You guys really helped me not to lose hope!
Glad you fixed your phone hopefully this will help other people

Absolutely my pleasure! This site has taught me so much, it's great to give a little back.
Hi diSke, Did you find any solution for your IMEI issue, as i also faced same issue and lost IMEI after flashing Superman ROM, and faced same issue. Please let me know steps if you resolved the issue. Thanks in advance.
