I googled many forum threads about this common issue, known as, WiFi interruptions. But I was unable to find what I was looking for.
Some people had similar problems as mine but they were in important ways different.
This is my problem:
When I have WiFi on for lets say more than 6 - 7 hours for no apparent reason I stop receiving notifications, syncing stops, and any other available internet services turn off on my phone.
At fist I thought I was just not being bothered by anything / anyone. Later I tried to go to the internet and noticed that my internet was not working as well.
At that point I disconnected from my internet (on my phone) and connected back.
The internet started working... But it keeps happening every few hours. Sometimes 6 - 7 hours. Other times I will have no problems the whole day.
I don't know what causes the problem. But if someone could help, that would be awesome!

Some background on my phone and situation:
I've been rooted, unlocked, and on Synergy ROM for quite some time now, since August 2012. I've updated the ROM many times. I've had a recurring problem where my WiFi is turned on, but randomly cuts out my internet connection. Right now, both 4G and WiFi are on, but I cannot connect to the play store, chrome, email, radio streams, etc. This has happened before and I cannot figure out the problem for the life of me, but holy crap is it ANNOYING!!!! I've done MANY searches and can't seem to find another person with this same problem, using the same terminology, so here I am. Also, it seems I NEVER have more than 2 bars signal strength on 4G (entire other issues - not as important).
I'm running firmware MF1 with MB1 TZ to fix camera, on Synergy r484 (current). However, this has happened to me often over the past many months. I use Unified Remote to control my home PC from the couch, which I gave up on because the app could never establish a wifi connection, or took 30 minutes to get working - I can't handle that. I try doing the *#0011# to turn off wifi power saving mode, but I do not get the same option people talk of when hitting the menu button, and the VZW voice says the update failed or some crap - I don't even know what this is exactly, I just tried it because I'm at my wits end!
Somebody, PLEASE help! This **** is the most annoying thing I've ever had to deal with, and have been dealing with it sporadically for the past many months.
Hi all,
I've looked around the forums and I haven't really seen anyone with this problem which worries me a little. I just upgraded to the nexus 5 for about a week and I've been noticing that the phone loses connection randomly even though I still see 1-2 bars on LTE. Even turning on wifi doesn't correct the problem. What's strange is that I will still be able to make phone calls, go on facebook, or web browse. As far as I know I can't get my outlook emails to push to my phone and when I swipe to the google now page on the left it says "no connection." Please let me know if anyone has seen this problem or have any type of solution to this. Thanks!
Hello! I flashed the stock image two days ago, as I was not part of the initial wave. Everything seems to be working great, but with one exception. When connected to wifi, anything that must pull information from the web has major lag. For example, opening facebook (or facebook messenger), or instagram, or twitter. You get the idea. Opening facebook messenger, for instance, takes around 9 seconds to load a conversation.
I did a ping test through my phone, using google.com, and found that it took around 9100 ms.
If I disconnect from wifi, which switches me to LTE, this issue disappears.
Switching from wireless 2.4 ghz to 5 ghz makes no difference.
While I have found bug reports about problems connecting to wifi, I haven't really found anyone with this specific issue. If anyone has any thoughts, I would greatly appreciate them.
Update:
Speed test shows that my wifi connection is running at normal pace. Ping test showed a delay, so I am assuming that is where the problem is. This problem does not occur on any other of my devices using my wlan.
I'm experiencing the same thing, unsure of what's going on. Facebook is so sluggish and everything else I do on the Internet seems to be so slow...
Same for me
I am also having issues with WIFI on Lollipop. I always seem to be connected to the network but when I open apps that use the internet connection, it takes forever to load. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other mainstream apps are having a real hard time loading images
I am having the same problem.
Weird thing is that I was at a different location today and used the wifi there without any problems. Didn't have time to figure out what was different with their network configuration.
Same problem here.. both on my phone and my wife's. If anyone here hears of a solution... please post back.
Fixed

Actually... I fixed this.. I have a D-Link-655 Router.. I had a firmware from 2012 on it.. I updated to the latest from 2013 and I no longer have problems with wifi-lag on mine or my wife's phones with Lollipop. Something to consider before fussing with IPv6 settings.
Hi guys!
I did a lot of googling and searching through XDA, but never found a solution for my problem, so I might as well try it here.
Recently I updated my Sony Xperia X Compact to AOSP 10. Now when I am connected to wifi (and it does NOT matter whether it is 2.4/5GHz or IPv4/IPv6, I tried everything) and my screen is locked, my system seems to put the wifi connection into some kind of battery saving mode. Notifications then will hardly come through. You can also see this in WhatsApp Web - every two minutes or so, "Phone not connected" will show up, and messages take up to 2 or 3 mins to get delivered. Then I can use Whatsapp Web normally for 30 secs, after which my phone seems to disconnect again. If I unlock my screen, WhatsApp Web will immediately (!) start working normally again, also missing notifications (e.g. Signal) will then come through.
While of course this might be a ROM bug, I am at least 100% sure it IS ROM-related, as I used exactly the same phone with exactly the same router without any problems while on Android 9 LineageOS.
Another interesting thing - if I charge my phone, during charging WhatsApp Web works completely without problems. The moment i UNPLUG the phone, wifi gets somewhat throttled agian.
Does anybody know a working solution for this? I do not have the option "Disable wifi sleep" or something similar - i believe Google has dropped this option somewhere around Pie.
Thanks in advance!

AFAIK there are kind of wifi energy saving options on some devices. But IDK if you can enable or disable wifi when phone is locked
Hi folks! I have a Samsung galaxy s10e that's given me almost no trouble up until a day or two ago. Anything internet-related on my phone is suddenly working very slowly, if at all. Google is hit-or-miss and some of my phone games that require internet connection are almost unplayable now. It's not having trouble connecting, it just sucks even when showing full bars https://nox.tips/ https://xender.vip/ .
It's not the wifi, because all my other devices and friend's devices have no issues at my place and the problem persists whether I'm at home, work, or out and about. I've tried restarting the phone, resetting the network settings, phone is fully updated from what I can see, and I don't have tons of apps open. This came on very suddenly (in the middle of playing a video, no less) and I'm not sure where to go from here. Anyone have any insight or advice?
