What do I need to do to change from sprint to at&t? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, so I have a sprint samsung galaxy s6, that is not tied to any sprint account currently. It was given to me as a prize. I need to make it work for AT&T.
Model number is SM-G920P
I know it is a CDMA network phone and AT&T is GSM. I have read about other phones being able to change between cdma and gsm.
I'd like to know if it is possible (however improbable) and if anyone knows where to start? I was going to read about how to do it on other phones, but wanted to be sure it was not a lesson in futility before I do. I am willing to try no matter how complicated. If I have to take the phone apart and change parts, I will do that as well. So yeah..
Any help would be appreciated.

Verizon phone on Sprint?

These guys in my area selling phones from Sprint and claiming they can put them on Verizon and vice versa. They are also selling phones like the Droid 2 and Pro, claiming to put them on T-Mobile. I know those are world phones with GSM capabilities but I did not think for the U.S. I always thought this was not possible. Can someone tell me if I am wrong?
i'd be very careful about dealing with them.
you can take a sprint phone and put it on verizon. you'll have to edit the esn on the phone which is illegal, but it can be done.
as far as putting a verizon phone on t-mobile, thats impossible afaik. unless these devices have north american gsm frequencies, it won't work. however if they do support NA frequencies, it would be possible.
Is this what they do when they talk about spoofing esns or something like that. I think I have an idea of what your talking about. I do not deal with them because I know they are less than reputable. But is that spoofing or whatever?

The Droid 2 Global and Droid Pro DO have GSM capabilities, however as far as I know and from video reviews, if you put the phone in GSM ("Global" mode)with an domestic (American) SIM card, it'll shut of the GSM radio. Stupid, I know. But they know people will just take the phone to T-Mobile and AT&T. This is even after they give you the unlock code. It's part of the software itself.
Now in regards to Sprint, they are SUPPOSED to put other carriers' phones on their networks, however you will not find any employee who will do it for you. Unless you edit the ESN number, which, as someone stated, is illegal, they won't activate it. Other carriers, such as MetroPCS will flash any CDMA phone to their network (although data might not work, usually). Local Boost Mobile stores MIGHT be nice enough to activate a Sprint phone for you. Virgin Mobile, although they run on Sprint, won't.
Yes they would be spoofing the esn from another device so the carrier will see it as a compatible for their system.

[Q] Flush Phone to Sprint

I have a need for help:
I have a EVO 3D (not a year old, not insurance) that die, can't star, I mean! dead, I don't have insurance, I am a year into the contract, quit working, got really hot yesterday, and this morning won't start (3/5/12). some one let me a Samsung S from Verizon, I call Sprint (they just to) if they could flush it from Verizon to Sprint, but they said no!
Any suggestions are very welcome, I don't have a phone at the moment, and I can't buy one, has any one have a way to use this Verizon phone (Samsung S) to make it work on Sprint?
Thanks
PS. if this is in the wrong place SORRY!
Let me also stress this thought, I am not very familiar with some of the terms you are going to replay, and I haven't done any thing of this nature, so if you suggest something, keep that in mind. I am eager but limited in knowledge.
you can only flash phones from sprint and verizon to boost, metro pcs and cricket...those are the only ones I heard of. You cant flash sprint to verizon and vice versa.
It is possible but wont be easy. Search around a bit. There are some threads on how to flash phones to boost and virgin mobile which will have a somewhat similar process for sprint.
flush phone
Expand on you replay please?
Remember I have a Samsung S (Verizon) that I like to convert or flush to sprint.
thanks

Like i said browse xda and other sites regarding flashing cdma phones. You will need tools like dfs cdma, qpst, and others to change the phones meid, mdn, aaa and ha keys and adresses, etc. Its not as simple as flashing a rom. You need to pull all the old value off the evo to flash to the samsung.
Also stop saying flush, its flash.

[Q] super noob with the s3. Quick question!

Hey all. known of the forum for quite some time, but never posted. So, i guess ill just ask. I have a north american (if it matters) verizon samsung galaxy s lll. I recently canceled my verizon account for obvious reasons. Anyway, where i live we have a carrier called virgin mobile. They run off sprints and verizons towers from what i've been told. I'm pretty savvy so i was wondering if i could simply unlock this and use it through virgin. I know how to root if I have to so that wont be a problem. Just a simple yes or no and the easiest most successful way at accomplishing this is all that will be needed. Thank you guys for reading, and thanks in advance for your help. Great forum:good:
I would call Virgin Mobile.

I am going to have to say NO.
Virgin Mobile uses Sprint's network. You cannot use Sprint on Verizon, Verizon on Sprint. Different CDMA. In theory, you could use a Sprint GS3 on Virgin Mobile, but it is not a guarantee either.
Usually it involves getting a donor phone on Virgin, pulling the appropriate info(meid, keys, etc..),& cloning to the phone you want service on. In some states, cloning esn is illegal, so I doubt anyone here will help you.
PS, the above info I got was available through a google search

[Q] Do Wireless Companies Have To Accept a Good ESN From Another Carrier?

Right now I have an HTC Evo running on the Sprint network. I purchased an iPhone 4s (Verizon) from a friend that has a good ESN. I was hoping i would be able to flash the phone and merrily be on my way to using the phone on the Sprint network. After some researching it doesn't look like that is going to happen since the stingy bastards who own mobile phone companies will not accept ESN's from other carriers. Although, i did read on some old forums that companies were required to let the phone operate on their system if the ESN was good. Is this true? Is that a law? Do they have to let my phone operate on their system or is there any way i could get Sprint to make it work?
Answers are greatly appreciated as i would love to use my new phone on the Sprint network.

[Q] How to flash Verizon Galaxy SIII to sprint?

I have heard mention of people flashing modems to switch their CDMA carrier but haven't seen a specific how to in the Verizon Galaxy SIII thread, is this possible with the verizon s3 to sprint? If so how? I am fairly familiar to rooting and flashing custom roms.
Maybe thishttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787677 has something to do with it?
Same idea as this?http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2235104&highlight=sprint

People here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41196913#post41196913 seem to have found a way but still not tutorial...
Its illegal. The reason you wont find a guide on here is because it is illegal, because the only way to do it is to use spoofing, which is ILLEGAL. Good day.
Illegal or not (and it is), you wouldn't get LTE 4G. Verizon is on different frequencies and use a SIM. Sprint, as I've read, is the only S3 without a SIM in the US.
Your best bet is try to find someone (Craig list?) that might want to swap. If not, sell yours and buy a Sprint model on eBay.
