[Q] Flush Phone to Sprint - General Questions and Answers

I have a need for help:
I have a EVO 3D (not a year old, not insurance) that die, can't star, I mean! dead, I don't have insurance, I am a year into the contract, quit working, got really hot yesterday, and this morning won't start (3/5/12). some one let me a Samsung S from Verizon, I call Sprint (they just to) if they could flush it from Verizon to Sprint, but they said no!
Any suggestions are very welcome, I don't have a phone at the moment, and I can't buy one, has any one have a way to use this Verizon phone (Samsung S) to make it work on Sprint?
Thanks
PS. if this is in the wrong place SORRY!
Let me also stress this thought, I am not very familiar with some of the terms you are going to replay, and I haven't done any thing of this nature, so if you suggest something, keep that in mind. I am eager but limited in knowledge.

you can only flash phones from sprint and verizon to boost, metro pcs and cricket...those are the only ones I heard of. You cant flash sprint to verizon and vice versa.

It is possible but wont be easy. Search around a bit. There are some threads on how to flash phones to boost and virgin mobile which will have a somewhat similar process for sprint.

flush phone
Expand on you replay please?
Remember I have a Samsung S (Verizon) that I like to convert or flush to sprint.
thanks

Like i said browse xda and other sites regarding flashing cdma phones. You will need tools like dfs cdma, qpst, and others to change the phones meid, mdn, aaa and ha keys and adresses, etc. Its not as simple as flashing a rom. You need to pull all the old value off the evo to flash to the samsung.
Also stop saying flush, its flash.

Bricked

Hey my good friend has a touch pro 2 that is bricked its the verizon version its unlocked, and just went and got a new one from verizon for $50 by saying it was stolen, however the phone does not turn on, on my windows 7 it recognizes it but does nothing is there anyhope?
What a moron. No wonder these devices cost so much... probably tried to flash a GSM HardSPL/ROM onto it (smooth move #1)... then files a fradulent insurance claim (smooth move #2).
Based on your friend's pattern of idiotic behaviour, I would say there is no hope for him... sorry.
haha im kinda happy he did cause he gave me the phone free of charge said i can keep it if i fix it, i tried the volume button to put it in bootloader and no luck =/ i really hope there is something i can do to get it to work
well it will still be useless if you can get it out of that state. you wont be able to activate it since it was reported stolen. so it will still be a brick, but with features
it was unlocked i was planning to use on ATT i just hope i can figure out a way to fix it
well fyi you'll only get edge speeds for data not 3g.
It wasn't unlocked. The GSM HSPL doesn't work on CDMA devices (hence - bricked).
It didn't need to be unlocked to use it on AT&T.
It will not use 3G though - only EDGE - if you can unbrick it.
Thats ok I dont have a data plan anyways I just want it to mess around, my job gave me an iPhone fully paid so I use that for everything, and it was unlocked before it was bricked by an unlock code online my friend used to have 2 services running at once it was actually pretty cool.
wow
No one is looking at the obvious here, your friend just reported it stolen, if you are able to activate it there is a good chance the police will be knocking on your door. That esn is now on the hot list! Good luck with getting it back on!
You can use bad ESN phones without them activating on verizon i have done it previously with a blackberry tour from verizon. Im just really trying to get this to work because it is a beast of a phone.
Wait a sec...you can't get a CDMA TP2 to work on GSM/EDGE. Being SIM unlocked won't do anything for you. There is a feature the FCC forced to make the phone completely unusable on domestic GSM networks.
What did I miss?

I think you missed the fact that this is a Verizon phone, which others have already proved works on US GSM networks once unlocked, not a Sprint phone.

Sounds like the OP has quite a history with "hot" phones.
haha not stole but bought on ebay. and i just like using cool new phones ive been through them all the touch HD, touch pro, like all the blackberries, i really wanna use this touch pro 2 without killing my wallet if not ill just end up buying the tilt 2
I hope to God know one helps this guy
haha haven't got any help so far gonna have to sell to someone whos better than this kind of stuff or something until then ima just wait it out till the weekend where ill have access to a windows XP machine and try it on that, too lazy to downgrade my windows 7
Oh man - now selling stolen property - and possibly across state lines, too!

Found what I suspect is this very phone listed on ebay in my normal daily ebaying. Started googling to see what I'd need to know to find out if it would be easy to restore so I could quiz the seller, tracked info back here to 2 or 3 threads to discover the phone has a bad esn by virtue of fraud, won't enter bootloader mode, and might very well be up for sale to multiple people. Surprise, those deets weren't in the listing
Thank you google.

[Q] unlocked iphone 4s on simple mobile/tmobile service

I know this is not the right forum but maybe you guys can just give me an idea. I bought my girl an unlocked iPhone 4s and we want to put it on Simple Mobile/T-Mobile service.
The Guy at the simple store said he needs to chip break the phone first and then put the simple mobile sim card in and it should be good to go. I told him the phone is unlocked already, but he said this procedure still needs to be done. Is this true?
I am a little weary of this procedure because I am not familiar with it and also because we are not sure if we want the phone so we may return it within the 14 day limit. By chip breaking this already unlocked phone, would this void the return? I'm not really sure what chip breaking the phone is. Is it like installing a T-Mobile radio or something? Can I do this procedure myself? I have already unlocked, rooted, and installed new Roms on my g2x, so I'm hoping I can get the chip break done so I don't have this Guy messing with the phone.
Please help, thanks.
By chip breaking I assume he meant cutting the sim into a micro sim. If the phone is already unlocked don't let them touch it.
There are guides online on how to cut a a sim into a micro sim or you can buy a cutter on ebay for relatively cheap.
Please remember that you won't get 3G connectivity on the iPhone on T-Mo/simple, only 2G.

Why is that? I have the g2x on simple/T-Mobile and I'm getting 4g.
TMO and ATT use different bands for 3G data. The American GSM iPhone is made for ATT, not TMO, so it doesn't have the hardware to connect to TMOs data bands. You can't compare two phones like the iPhone and G2x. They're made by different companies to sell on different carries. Completely different in this respect.
Picked this up when I got my iPhone 4s, comes with little adapters so I can switch between the iPhone 4s, Galaxy Nexus, G2x, and Quantum when I feel like it. And for about $1 it's a good deal.

are you able to use iPhone with T-mobile?

[Q] Do Wireless Companies Have To Accept a Good ESN From Another Carrier?

Right now I have an HTC Evo running on the Sprint network. I purchased an iPhone 4s (Verizon) from a friend that has a good ESN. I was hoping i would be able to flash the phone and merrily be on my way to using the phone on the Sprint network. After some researching it doesn't look like that is going to happen since the stingy bastards who own mobile phone companies will not accept ESN's from other carriers. Although, i did read on some old forums that companies were required to let the phone operate on their system if the ESN was good. Is this true? Is that a law? Do they have to let my phone operate on their system or is there any way i could get Sprint to make it work?
Answers are greatly appreciated as i would love to use my new phone on the Sprint network.

Flash? Verizon Samsung S5 to T-Mobile Factory software..... Help please!

Simple right? I have a factory Verizon Samsung galaxy S5 now I have T-Mobile service, can't I just wipe the Verizon software and replace it with the T-mobile software? ..... but I just don't know how and of course T-mobile isn't going to help me they want me to buy a phone, but the super nice lady tech was smitten that another lady was talking "geek" to her so she sent me to the experts. YOU!! Point me in the right direction or something I can figure out the rest. I don't worry about make-up before I leave me house I spend time on making sure my brain can carry me through, so help me work out my greatest asset by handing over some more knowledge. If you have any questions about auto mechanics I could answer those in return.

The Verizon S5's bootloader is locked. If you don't know what that means, it means non-official software/firmware/OS/etc cannot be flashed to the device. Even if the bootloader wasn't locked, the phones (afaik) are physically different (modems/radios/etc) to work on different network technologies.
I know some Verizon phones will work on T-Mobile's (and AT&T's network) simply by popping in the proper SIM. From a quick google search, it seems that the Galaxy S5 is one of them. You just have to change the APN settings or you won't get texts. Follow the directions here (they're for the Note 3, but it's the same process). If there's an update from Verizon, you might have to pop in a Verizon SIM card (and download it off of wi-fi obviously). The SIM doesn't need to be active (use your old one), the phone just has to recognize a Verizon SIM. LTE will work (with the proper APN) because Verizon and T-Mobile both use band 4.
Apart from the T-Mobile account app, there's really nothing about the T-Mobile version that you'd really care about. Different company, different useless bloatware. And as long as there's a T-Mobile SIM, you can still download the account app. If you just don't want anything "Verizon" about it, just google up a guide on what bloatware to disable and how to do it.
FYI, if you're in/around Tucson or Phoenix, supposedly this year we're finally going to get band 12. It's a 700MHz band (like Verizon's band 13), which, being a lower frequency travels further and penetrates buildings better. The Galaxy S5 does not support band 12 - it's not new enough. So if you're boiling your butt off in saguaro country like me, it might behoove you to get a newer phone. The reason we're waiting on band 12 is that there's a UHF TV station in Phoenix that conflicts with that frequency (and the broadcast radius clips the northern Tucson suburbs), but I guess the TV station is going to switch (probably with financial motivation from T-Mo).
If you're not in Tucson or Phoenix (I can't speak for Flagstaff), but in a more rural area, or just where there's poor LTE coverage, it still might behoove you to get a different phone rather than use your Verizon one. The problem is that it doesn't support T-Mobiles better/faster GSM bands, so you would get slower data speeds if not on LTE, even in an area with good HSPA+ or EDGE coverage.
Of course, the other option is simply to buy a T-Mobile phone (like a used S5 off of Swappa) then sell the Verizon one. Or find someone to trade with. An AT&T one would work as well as long as it's carrier unlocked (but not Sprint).
I don't have a car.

Verizon/Sprint

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I could use some help. I've been on the phone with Sprint for about 4 hours trying to get the Samsung Gear 2. But I want the Classic titanium. I'm trying to buy this as a gift, and apparently, Sprint doesn't have the watch in 3G/4G. The Customer service rep told me to just buy the Verizon version and it should be fine because both companies use CDMA networks. Can anyone verify that if I bought the Verizon version of the watch, that it would be compatible with a sprint cell phone? I understand that they would link up regardless with Bluetooth and wifi, but I want to make sure it'll be able to place and answer calls, etc, etc. I know, I'm an idiot, but I'd like any help I can get before spending that kind of cash on something.

It will not work.
Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
I also wouldn't trust what they are saying even though they both do use cdma
Thank you. That's kinda what I thought too. Is there some kind of work around? Rooting, flashing etc. I used to flash all my phones way back when. Dinc, storm etc. The last one I rooted was the Rezound, I believe. Just got bored with it and stopped once the factory version did the things I was flashing for to begin with. So I do have some familiarity with it. Just been a while. This is an anniversary gift and I'd really like to make this work somehow, if at all possible.
I saw on ebay an unlock service for the watch but I haven't tried it, only $10 might be worth it
