Hey everyone,
Just recently, I've been having a problem with blurry pictures because the photo taker assumes that the photo is taken and saved before it is taken.
Previously on roms, once you press the blue button on the camera app, you see the autofocus do its work, and then it stops (which means the photo has been taken).
However, on the ROM I am currently on, it does the autofocus and the still, but takes like 3 seconds after that before the photo is actually taken O.O I'm not sure why, but this is causing a lot of blurry pictures because autofocus doesnt account for the 3 seconds between the focus and the actually photo taken.
Any ideas?
I do not have your phone/brand/rom so I have no experience in your device whatsoever.
However, I think that you are spot on about the autofocus potentially being a cause.
Are you able to disable it or use another camera application that has tap to focus or similar?
Sorry for the late reply.
Using another camera app causes some glitches (parts of the picture cuts off, streaks of white on the sides, etc.). Tap to focus will not help the problem because there is still a gap between when the pic is taken and when it is focused.
Thanks.
My phone freezes while trying to take a photo. Focus is also not working. The only way to wake it up is to switch off and on the screen by on/off button. Any ideas what is this about? No root, updated to last version...
While recording a video focus is also not wotking.
P.S. Front camera works perfect.
Damn you, I can't post link to video that shows how does it look because I am not a flooder...
OK, phone was returned and received back with camera changed. It was hardware problem. Not at all.
Hi,
I have purchased my Elephone P3000S 3GB in August, 2015.
I have an issue with the camera. In the beginning it took OK pictures but after a while I have realized that the back /main/ camera shows blurred spots and darker circles on the screen and also on the pictures taken. The front camera's pictures are OK.
I tried with several different camera apps, all show the same spotty picture. Please look at the attache pic.
AND yesterday I wanted to take a picture and I was not able to access the main camera only the front one. It appeared after a restart, but still......
Do you have a solution to these problems?
Thanks!
I'm experiencing problem with my Xiaomi MI4 front camera. Everytime I capture a video from front camera, the resulting video is flipped horizontally. But capturing images from front camera just works fine, though rarely it flips image too, that happens cause of the angle we hold the camera to take the picture. And that can be fixed with apps like Pixlr. But the video...it really sucks. It gets flipped every f**king time, doesn't matter what the capturing angle has been. Please someone help fixing this bug!!!
Thanks in advance. ?
I got my OP6 and installed whatsapp and I am now trying to activate web whatsapp which requires you to scan a QR code on a web page on your computer.. However the camera is not focusing and therefore recognising the QR code. If I try to take a picture in a whatsapp chat it shows a very clear picture.
I've added a screenshot of what this looks like. I tried pressing the screen, double tapping, rebooting etc. I use a custom ROM, Havoc.
By moving fingers over the two lenses I've figured out that whatsapp is using bottom of the two lenses present lens for finding QR code.
Is this a hardware problem? Or is there something else going on? Can I test this somehow? I am not sure how I can just test this one lens alone.
Thanks in advance for any help!
EDIT: I did read up on all the camera problem threads but it seems my problem is just with the lower lens hence this thread.
I just checked with a supermarket app that allows you to scan their items and here the scan camera focused quickly and perfectly.

The lower lense isn't for capturing images.

But if whatsapp forced the use of this lens on OP6 more people would have seen this issue? Can you try it perhaps. No need to scan, just activate the camera: open Whatsapp > three dots at top right > WhatsApp Web.
Thanks!

yes it is, open the camera and place your finger on the lower lense and you will see that no image can be captured. Upper lense is depth sensor also a camera with autofocus.
if you want to test the cameras dial *#*#1597#*#* and you can change wich of both cameras you want to use to take pics. (at least in oxygenOS, i dont know about other roms). to discard a hardware malfunction, propper way to test this is to install stock OOS, then dial that number and check if both cameras focus (point at a distant object and see if it is focused, then place your hand close to the camera and see if it can focus on it) and check if OIS work (activate the camera and move the phone and look at the camera if it moves with the phone or if it stabilizes correctly)
