mine is H959, so it might be different from I Series. H series can use LG Flash Tool and kdz files to upgrade/downgrade as you like. just need to make sure you use the CSE Flash method to wipe out everything when you flash.

Okay looks like the ls996 isn't as downgrade friendly. Something about a different bootloader. I basically can't enjoy a phone anymore without root so if a 5.1.1 method doesn't come quick I'll have to sell this one and get one that hasn't been updated.

You will have trouble. An OTA update needs an untouched system partition, that means no root or deleted files, unroot isn't enough... So I reccomend you to convert back to stock firmware or convert again to gpe but then, dont root or change recovery.. Just wait...
Use this guide to restore to stock firmware.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/guide-restore-moto-firmware-gpe-t2914884

After flashing stock firmware or converting to gpe, you dont have to root or change recovery... If you leave all stock, everything will be ok!!

If you also have stock recovery, you won't have any problem. Heard that you can receive the OTA using any other recovery without touching system files, but if you are not going to change anything, nor flashing another rom until lollipop's arrive, I recommend you flashing stock recovery

I've stock rom, i'm just unlock and root my device.
:crying:
No need of locking boot loader.Just flash full stock firmware along with stock recovery.Or try flashing 5.0.2 firmware instead of flashing stock kitkat+ota

Grab one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-rom-collection-t2854688 and flash via recovery. Reboot then do the ota!
I installed recently lollipop stock firmware and I want to revert to kitkat in order to install the recovery and flash the future v3.2 rom.
I tried flashing 2 different kdz firmware (10b and 10f) through download mode and the process is completed successfully 100% but the phone goes into reboot loop on both versions.
how can I revert to any kitkat rom ?
Any help guys?
Use LG Flash Tool 2014, select CSE Flash instead of Normal Flash, work for me downgrading lolipop to kitkat without any problem.
follow these instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
to be able to go to download mode,
turn off your phone
wait 10s
press volume up and connect the usb cable (without pressing the power button)
it will work without problem if you have the correct lg drive install in your computer.
I just spent +4 hours how to do it, and was able to. now I am in kitkat

After Downgrade from Lollipop to Kitkat via KDZ:
Remove the Battery and make a Factory Reset with the Hardware Buttons, this works.

Update to V15c over OTA, then root with rooted V15c image.
When I try to update i have. Message. It's newest os for that model
I have Euro H955 and last update was V15c-EUR-XX. You can try to flash V15c stock kdz with lg flash tool, then root it. I can not recomend this because I did not tried this, but this procedure should not be a problem because the model is the same. Wait till somebody else confirm this or try on your own risk.
Have anyone got link to download version 15c of software for our euro h955?
Hey folks, I was thinking of downgrading from 6.0.1 which I am using now to 5.1 so I can try some different Roms. My phone was already on 6.01 when I bought it so not sure going down to 5.1 is safe or not.
Any help would be awesome.

As far as I know downgrading firmware is not possible on this phone.
But any of the older roms should work just fine regardless of the marshmallow update
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
From what I understand we cannot downgrade. But I was thinking this. . .what if someone who has made a twrp backup of their LL stock firmware sent that download to me. Then I would download and flash via TWRP. Would that work? I was trying to break open the tar.md5 from my phone to see where the verification of the firmware would be to delete that particular string in the metadata script. I haven't really looked into it deeply but it may be a start. The backup stock ROM from TWRP might be our best bet if someone still is on stock LL.
So we r able to flash LP Roms even tbough we r on MM?

In theory since we can flash a twrp backup. We would have to convert that backup into a flashable zip file. I'll work on how to do it this weekend. But once I get a zipped file it's going to have to be tested. If this works we still need someone with LP rom to do the backup.
