ItsOn? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Is anybody planning on removing ItsOn from any roms? Coming from the HTC One m8 it was put in and nobody liked it as it could cause battery drains? I would make my own but I am not to familiar on deodexing roms and such but I have been able to remove it from the stock kernel and all other traces from the stock odexed ROM.

I haven't heard or seen the battery drain on the S6 as it was on the M8 when it first showed up. Don't think it's such a big deal now. Just my opinion of course.

Guess I'll have to flash the odexed ROM I have with it removed to see if there's any difference

Total Disappointment

I got to say that even with all of the great development here this phone has been overly disappointing..
This is my Wife's phone I use an SGS II. I was going to keep it stock but she was complaining about it locking up occasionally and poor battery life. So i rooted and have had her try out several roms of several flavors, sense 3.0 and 3.5 gingerbread of all sorts, and different kernels and all.. It seems no matter the combo the general use of the device seem sluggish at times.
Her biggest complaint is how sometimes she needs to pull for the notification bar 3 or 4 times before it will pull down.. Whats crazy is non of these issues are present at first, usually do not show for a few days.
I at first thought it was the set up but after so many mixes of different things i checked that off, then i thought it was an app but i had her go for a few days without installing anything and it eventually still happened..
I have decided it either the device just plain sucks or its the sense garbage clogging it up..
Any good ASOP rom recommendations?
Or any recommendations at all? Maybe someone else who had had issues with this device and who has found happiness could point me in a good rom kernel combo for this POS...
Sorry had to vent.. and any help would be great..
No problems whatsoever on the ROM I'm running. Did you make sure to superwipe in between each ROM flash?

Yes Superwipe is my friend. Honestly It could just be that this device is just not as good as her G2 which she now wants to go back to lmao.. but whatever..

No one else seams to have these problems i get no lag what so ever but if your looking for a good AOSP Gingerbread ROM have you tried Cyanogen Mod 7????? or eve MIUI as far as ICS ROM i like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408351
have you tried swapping/formatting your SD card?
other than that, it sounds like you've tried everything...you may just have a bung handset...your problems are not common
I was having some of the same problems. No matter what Rom/kernel combo I had there were bugs. I went back to stock and voila... Smooth as butter. I guess the updates tmo released really fixed all of the problems I had when I first purchased the sensation. I suggest you try it out.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
I have been using sensation for 4+ months now. Yes the stock ROM is buggy but definitely not as bad as you are experiencing. I rooted and install custom ROM after one week stock ROM usage. May be you can try by 1) factory reset if not fixed then 2) format or new memory card.
All Gingerbread based ROM's are pretty good in terms of feature, performance and stability. For starters you can try insertcoin or android revolution HD. I would not recommend ICS based ROM since they are still work in progress kind of mode. Though most of the things will work with ICS ROM, looking at your frustrating experience I would recommend only GB based ROMs.
All The Best!
Faulty handset.
Get it replaced/fixed.
Never have I experienced any of these issues with my Sensation.
I use ARHD 3.6.x since day 1 and it's still as smooth as butter.
I use Daemon controller to take the CPU down to 1GHz.
I have many many apps installed and have nearly filled the internal memory with a few apps on the SD too.
I have removed a few system apps using root. What accounts are you using on the device? I have heard that a sense account can be a bit of a drain on battery and resources.

I'd agree.
All of symptoms "pull for the notification bar 3 or 4 times before it will pull down.. Whats crazy is non of these issues are present at first, usually do not show for a few days. " are VERY similar to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239238
There was another link 150+ pages relating to it but can't that one. Anyway, get it replaced.
I think because her nails are long
I had a lot of sluggishness with stock but now I'm using MIUI and it's really smooth and is better on batt life w/o all that stock bloat nonsense. I don't know why I waited so long to root. Every now and then I have issues pulling the status bar but I figure it's just my finger placement or another app is running a task and hogging the CPU for a sec.

Honestly though with a dual core device you should be able to pull the notification bar down at will.. at least my SGS II has never done this..

This maybe a possibility that she has a faulty touchscreen making it seem to be laggy when infact its not..
Thank you guys for so many responses im going to have her try an ASOP rom like CM7 and see if it helps if not maybe ill get it replaced..
My sensation is sluggish on the stock rom. It operates very smooth on cm7 alpha #10 and the latest miui which i am sporting at the moment. Do u use titanium backup at all in her phone. Ive read some shiz bout TB.

I got the same problem. Takes couple tries to unlock the phone, some on-screen keyboard keys are not responding, notification bar not coming down. It was very annoying and frustrating. But all the problems are gone once I installed CM7/MIUI.

I think your phone (hardware) is defected. Get a replacement. I run many of the custom ROM for the past few months and none of them have the problem you described. Good luck.

I really think that you guys are just used to a less than smooth experience. and i don't mean this in a bad way. I have not only been exposed to my wife's Sensation but the weird dude upstairs Sensation >though its stock< is slow and choppy and has horrible battery life as well.. just saying its bad when when you take her G2 running a sense 3.0 rom and put it next to the Sensation running a similar rom and the older device is running it better..
OK, So after trying out the CM7 build and now Hypersensation I am going to say even without waiting <but the next few days will tell> sense is what really hinders this phones performance. Totally 1000% more responsive than ANY Sense rom i have had on this device.. still not up to par where i feel it should be but much nicer..
Ok if shes still in cm7 just leave it dont overclock it. Give it a few charges to settle. Everything should work smooth except the video camera. Glad i could help u.

If she doesnt like cm7 give the latest miui a go. Everything works great. Only bug ive noticed is the wifi likes to turn on by itself once in awhile so keep an eye on it if u try miui. Ive came over from a nexus s and comparing both phones id say the sensation is a hair better plus the build quality is much much better.

Question about issues

Lately I've been flashing various roms trying to find one I don't have a problem in, on the latest saga3d I get a mobile internet failed connection and have to manually turn it on and off till it connects numerous times a day, firstly I'd like to know if anyone else has had this on any Rom and how they fixed it, also can anyone reccomend a STABLE (no bugs so likely will be a sense based Rom) Rom with good battery life , not ics based as the kernel isn't out yet, thanks

I know that's not much of an analysis, but something didn't feel right. Maybe I'm just getting old... But I'm back on 3.4 and its still the best IMO, foe some stupid reason which I don't even know...

I can't really say... battery almost felt the same to me, given that I was running both 3.4 and 3.5 at the same settings... but honestly speaking, I didn't have it on long enough to be able to proffer an educated opinion. If I was asked like my life depended on it, I would venture that battery life on both versions was identical...
My impression on 3.5 was the battery life improved a little bit. But I cannot state clear facts at the moment though.
also IMO the feeling didn't change. It's still the same safe home to come back to after some adventures
I flashed the battery percentage mod cause I don't need the swipe notification feature. It's only one button and all notifications are gone, why deleting them one by one?

To root or not to root

I have rooted and loaded custom ROMs on many of my phones.
I don't know why but for some reason I am bit hesitant on rooting my G3.
I see now there is a quick and easy script to root even the Lollipop 5.01 OTA 850 so I am tempted to do this.
My question is if I don't want to load a custom ROM will the debloating and removal of carrier IQ make a noticeable difference to performance or just give a warm cuddly feeling that these are now gone?
I know there is tweakbox but it appears that besides some nice customizing that can be done there is not much on he performance side of things?
I am finding 5.01 a little laggy and it would be nice to get the phone running smoothly.
I don't even know why you asked.... Always root.

You asked in wrong section... This is the general section .. We have a Q&A section for stuff like this.. For me I can not have a phone without root. Without root you have nothing but a normal bloated lag fest of ugliness... If you k ow anything about the capabilities possible with root then you would understand. Please next time you ask a question can you please put it in correct section. Please and thank you.

If your simply looking to remove bloatware you will only be freeing up memory on your device as now in android you can simply disable most bloatware. If that's all you really wanted to do then I guess you shouldn't root. The reason stock 5.01 feels laggy is more than likely due to lgs launcher I prefer an aosp rom on all my phones currently using cyanogenmod offers great battery life while being pretty stable.

The thing I appreciate most about rooting, and is the reason I will always root my device, is the ability to save a complete nandroid backup of my phone. I just feel comfortable having a complete image backup of my phone should I have to wipe it, lose it, or just have to replace it for any reason. There are other reasons too, like being able to back up individual files with Titanium Backup (multiple revisions in case an app update doesn't work right), remove bloatware, switch apps from system to user apps for better management, and customizing some features.
I really only run Greenify, ES File Explorer, and Titanium Backup root apps, but having the other abilities makes it appealing.

I was in your exact same situation a few days ago. The problem with me was that LG was just SO AWEFUL at making a skin, and they really sort of ruined some of the great aspects of the phone. I currently have CM12 on my G3, and it is great. Very little lag, customization through the rough, and basically everything as expected. To do this I had to downgrade to 4.4.4 from 5.0.0, and then to CM12, but before that I rooted 5.0. Rooting made a few good performance strides, but realistically I think your best choice is a custom ROM. Especially for this phone.
Thanks for the replies.
I am having a really bad run with the D850. The original one I bought died on me and was replaced with a refurb by AT&T. Since then there has been one issue after the next. My latest replacement has everything working OK except that bluetooth is staying awake after a drive in the car and flattening the battery. AT&T claim that this is a known problem with certain D850's after the 5.01 OTA update and are saying that it's LG's problem to fix.
I'm reluctant to start fiddling with rooting and ROM loading until I'm sure I have a phone with everything working the way it's supposed to.

Sorry you have those problems. The G3 has been flawless for me and even after being out for a year there aren't any devices I would rather have.
A root, install TWRP and a clean install of one of the stock based 20f Roms for this device might fix the Bluetooth problem. I use Bluetooth in my car and headset every day and my battery is excellent, better than on KitKat. I have been running the ROM from autoprime.

Brand new G3!

At 1:15 today ill be picking up my new G3 from the AT&T store! incredibly excited!
I have been using the G2 and messing with it for months so i just hope i have the same range of options with this phone, which leads me to ask...
What are some of your favorite things about this phone? what are your favorite roms, mods, theams, tweaks? and lastly, are there any things about this phone i should know about before messing with it too much, like any common issues that will be frustrating?
Thank you all for your time, i look forward to seeing if anyone has any suggestions for me

The most frustrating thing about this phone is that any custom ROM's that are available tend to eat more battery than stock. The absolute best ROM for this phone ATM is the Cloudy G3 ROM which is a stock ROM that is debloated and had a few extra features thrown in. Everything works spectacularly well on this ROM and battery life is phenomenal. But hey, throw on Nova Prime launcher and make it your own, the possibilities are endless. LOL

That's funny, because i found the exact same thing with my G2! I hated every ROM until i used Cloudy G3 and i loved it!
Unfortunately at one point my G2 hard bricked and i kinda blamed it on how many times I've changed ROM'S and recovery's i had tried, and since i was using Cloudy at the time i really felt it was partly because of it. And after i replaced the Mobo i kept it stock but always missed it lol.
Just rooted my LG G3 ATT with avicohh's tool and it was a smooth transaction. I'd like to find just a stock ROM that is already debloated but honestly it's smarter for you to use Titanium and choose what apps you don't want to be a part of your system. If I see a strong response to better battery life on a specific ROM I might flash it but until then it's stock with minor modifications to storage/RAM hogging features. You'll love your G3. It's different to a degree but it's snappy and tough. The default icons for apps is pretty bad which is my only gripe so far and of course button placement forces you to use screen taps to lock/unlock. Make sure your case has a pretty good space between the cutout and your flash/sensor/camera on the back. Tight cuts in that area make the camera less effective due to reflecting or blocking light.

Cloudy is the only ROM I will run on mine until someone else comes out with a stock based ROM that is worthy. I have tried several of hte variants built from CM source, and don't get me wrong, they are very fast, stable and are for the most part daily drivers. But none of the CM variants have the G3 camera and none that I have found have the awesome battery life that I experience with Cloudy.

Note Edge Custom 4.4.4 ROM?

Are their any T Mobile based 4.4.4 Custom ROMs for the Note Edge. I only see foreign and Lollipop flavors. Would like to see a 4.4.4 that is lite on background apps so the battery life would be longer. I'm mainly going for longer battery life. I can only get about 5 hours of screen time
If you're rooted, couldn't you just get rid of the background crap?

I have a T-Mobile Edge and I unfortunately I can't tell you if it's still available to download because I haven't really looked back since I first flashed it, but I've been running a rom called Hyperdrive 4.4.4 since the first day I got this phone (on launch day) and it's STILL running strong! I recently started having issues with my battery and they wound up shipping me a new one for free, and when I got the new battery I was actually toying around with the idea of upgrading and trying out 5.1.1.. but now I'm glad I didn't!
I wound up just backing up all of my stuff and then I did the first factory reset I've ever done since I first flashed this rom, and I seriously couldn't be happier. Anyway just thought I'd throw it out there because it's just an awesome rom with tons of customization options, and at the same time it's been a steady freakin workhorse and all around probably the best experience I've ever had with a rom. Hope you can find it and try it out because it's worth it's weight in gold imo!

Thank you for the suggestion. Yes my phone is TMobile so I am looking for a 4.4.4 TMo ROM. Did you notice better battery life with this ROM? Oh and did the Hyperdrive ROM come with wifi calling? What is the procedure for installing a Custom ROM? On my NOte 2, there was a lot of resources and directions on going about getting a Custom ROM but sadly there hasn't been much here
