galaxy s6 original or clone? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i just bought my new Galaxy S6 Dual Sim with gold colour ( SM-G920F). how can i check its original or a clone??? i also check my imei on imei.info and its valid.
if any one can tell me how can i check if my s6 is legit???? i find many options on google to check but i need someone / developer who can confirm that my s6 is real not a clone????

Take a close up picture of the flash and the border of the screen. Most clones I have seen have a cheap yellow flash module and the screen has a black border around it.

The Dual SIM S6 is not an SM-G920F! The dual SIM version model number is SM-G9200.
A quick and easy way to check is to boot your phone into recovery (boot phone while holding down Volume+ and Home buttons) or download mode(boot phone while holding down Volume- and Home buttons, then press Vloume+ to enter Download).
If there's Chinese writings in there, I got bad news for you son

Beg to differ, but there is another version of dual sim s6 based on the international versio, SMG920FD. And if u check it on the web or some apps that check your phone it only shows as SMG920F. You can google it if u want

Glad it was genuine, there's been so many people that have been caught by good looking knock offs

Well, if you're unsure whether it's real or not, it can't be too bad, right ?

[HELP]G920F XME bricked.

Hey guys,
I accidentally flashed the CF-autoroot for 5.0.2 (I forgot there is no root yet for 5.1.1) right after updating to 5.1.1. Now, I'm stuck on the Downloading screen with no access to recovery. When I tried flashing stock recovery(after converting from img to tar.md5) from the Stock tar.md5 it game a NAND Write Start FAIL. I can't flash the stock firmware (G920FXXU1AOCZ) either it gives me the same NAND error.
I have no idea what to do next. Any help will be appreciated. I'll probably head to a customer care center tomorrow if I can't figure this out by then. Please any and all ideas welcome.

Are you using Odin 3.10.6?
Exit from Download mode by pressing and hold both volume up and down button + home button + power button for a few seconds. After this you will exit download mode. Once screen turns off press and hold volume down + home button + power button. This will bring you to menu prior to download mode. Restart odin. Connect your device to your PC. Press volume up. Reflash your 5.1.1. Don't make the same mistake twice.
I have this same problem, I can only access download mode I CANNOT get into recovery. May I ask where I can download the 5.1.1 software from? I flashed from smart switch but now I am bricked smart switch does not pick up the device. My S6 is the varient mentioned here. Please, please, please someone help with a link. Thank you.

There is no 5.1.1 firmware yet for G920FXXU1AOCZ. If you have a link or can upload one I'd be very grateful. Also I can flash any 5.1.1 G920FXXU1AOCZ firmware right?
From what country do come from or where you bought your S6?

Based on the CSC (XME) you mentioned on your title you can try flashing this G920F 5.1.1 Malaysian ROM via Odin:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/49468/G920FXXU2BOFO_G920FOLB2BOFF_XME/
I am in the UK and I bought it from O2
Here you go UK O2 5.1.1:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/49735/G920FXXU2BOFJ_G920FTEF2BOF1_O2U/
I am in India bought it from Malaysia. My phone is XME-G920F. I was just able to flash another 5.1.1 ROM from another Asian region (XEF). Somehow that worked. Sadly now I have to fix region lock since I didnt make a call before leaving Malaysia.
Reflash using the Malaysian 5.1.1 posted above.

Will that fix sim lock ?
Hi, I just recently got a UK S6. (SM-G920F) I'm not sure where to really begin other than when I go to try to enter download mode it goes to a screen that appears like the stock android recovery only everything is in Chinese I believe. (Yes I'm holding volume down, home button, and power button) But no download screen comes up. And I'm pretty sure its running a custom rom because of the boot animation when it powers up (says datuyo) and there's no option to download an ota update. All I'm trying to do is go back to fully stock (I'm in America on AT&T). Build number is KTU84P.G920FZCU1ANIF if that helps. Also below it it says "Custom build version" which is I9296.MHD.C.B-V3.0_0508. I"m not sure what this means, but that's my situation, ANY help would be appreciated.

Im sorry guys taking too long to respond.
here's how its work for me.
1. turn off the android box.
2. before you push the turn on button on android box, press turn button on remote repeatedly.
3. while push button 'turn on' on remote repeatedly, push your android box button 'turn on' once.
4. keep repeatedly push button 'turn on' on your remote until its enter recovery mode.
5. voila.
I'm still exploring this android box. If you guys have better or another idea, better post it in here.
i hope this help. thanks.
Thanks for the tips. Done it but just a little different. Switch on the power button on the back of the stb & immediately after that pressing the red power button on the remote repeatedly. Now it is time to work harder searching for the latest android for this stb.

Bricked my S10e one day after getting it, i need some help

So, today my dad bought me a new phone because i needed one, an S10e. And i, like a massive idiot, decided to flash it with TWRP to try and root it. It worked, sort of, TWRP recovery worked fine, but the phone was in a boot loop when it wasnt in recovery. So i decided to flash the stock firmware, only that it got stuck on the System part when i flashed it with Odin, so i had the brilliant idea to disconnect and try again, except i ended up bricking the entire download mode. I cant turn off my phone, nor can i go into recovery mode, everytime i try to turn off the phone, it boots up back into the download mode with the Smart Switch error, no warnings, no cancels, nothing. Just the error screen. Now if i try to flash it again with Odin on the error screen, it gets stuck on Boot.
Am i royally ****ed to the point where i cant send it to the store? I got it today so i thought i could take it back to where i bought the phone for a replacement or repair, but if not then i honestly dont know what to do. I tried using Kies or Smart Switch for restoration, but they dont even recognise it.
Ooohh...So sorry. Im going to look around for some help for you.
I used to do this but havent the need in years with the new technologies.
Better to ask over at the Magisk root thread in the regular S10 forum.
You can call Samsung and if its under warranty they can walk you through or do it while connected to your computer.

you should be able to get into download even after that error
just take out the usb cable and hold power + bixby+ vol down to force reboot then just hold bixy and vol down and plug the cable then you are back into download mode and restore your phone. It's not messed up
Search on youtube s9 download mode.

Thats the thing, if i hold vol down and power for the 7 secs to get out of download mode, it automatically boots itself back into download mode without any "press vol up to continue" and stuff, its just the constant "an error has occured while updating system software" screen and absolutly nothing else, and like i said, i tried to reflash all the firmware back to stock, but odin just stops at Boot, and a message appears on the error screen saying a PIT check failed (thinking about it, i could just be that i downloaded the wrong firmware, i dont actually know what country the phone was made in, and if it helps, i bought it in Lithuania, and i unlocked it with a Lithuanian SIM card, so im not sure what country firmware i should get. One strange thing: i remember looking at the display case at the salon i bought the phone at, and it said that the phone has the Snapdragon CPU chipset, but if that was true then i wouldnt be able to have unlocked my bootloader for Odin in the first place)

Use smart switch, please follow the instructions in this video
You need IMEI and Serial number which can be found on the box of your phone or it will be embedded in the back glass
I believe on the newer version of smart switch you have to enable device Initialization from the preferences tab

yes, i have, and again, nothing happens, it just instantly goes straight to the error you get when you **** up an odin flash in the middle of its work
This is so odd. Ideally a picture of the error screen would really help here. It's usually pretty darn difficult to brick a Samsung phone.
Have you tried using a different USB cable and PC to do the Odin flash?

Finish the battery power of the phone and leave it for 2 days or so (in Download mode and *not* connected to odin) for faster battery usage, or anywhere as long as it on
After that power it to recovery mode with the volume up button and the power button but press em right after inserting the power cord (cable to your phone to charge it so it can boot to recovery)
When the Samsung thingies pop up release the power button and don't release the volume up button
Press till u see the recovery menu and then wipe cache and then factory reset it :cyclops:
Mostly likely it's gonna need the previous Google account details, I'll research on how to frp bypass the Google lock

Finish the battery power of the phone and leave it for 2 days or so (in Download mode and *not* connected to odin) for faster battery usage, or anywhere as long as it on

Same here, no joy ....
Hope you are doing it correctly to go to download mode:
When your comp is on, connect one end the USB C cable to your comp , turn off phone, press & hold volume up & down buttons together, connect the other end of the cable to the phone. When the warning screen appears, press volume up.
It's been like this for sometime now(starting with S20 series).
