USB Drive and USB Audio Support for 5.x ROM? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have decided to upgrade from Kit Kat 4.4.4 which has been awesome. So far it seems that all the Lollipop roms that I have tried are unable to detect OTG USB drives or output audio via USB... or both. Is this by design from Google? If so, I will have no choice but to remain with KK 444 LiquidSmooth.

My SanDisk dual usb stick works fine for otg

USB audio in cheaper android phones

Hey!, i wanna buy android phone which is cheap and have USB AUDIO option, beacuse i later want connect usb external dac(like oDAC) to this phone. But is a problem, beacuse i see that no one has usb audio connected to cheaper android phone, people have only expensive phones like samsung s3 etc, and connect them to usb audio(dac). I want to know that when i will buy cheper phone like samsung ace, samsung galaxy mini, etc, and i will INSTALL non-standard rom like these : ROM][4.2.2][OFFICIAL] LiquidSmooth v2.5 - d2att - 5|27|13 , [ROM][DEV] CyanogenMod 10.1 JB 4.2.2 - Androidarmv6 [Nightly builds] , Cyanogenmod nightly, etc, so USB AUDIO will work with these moded roms/kernels WHEN ON OFFICIAL JELLY BEAN THIS OPTION DOESN'T WORK?
Im very sorry for my bad english.

AOSP Roms that support USB OTG?

Anyone know of any AOSP-type roms that support USB OTG?
I've been running Cyanogen roms for a while and it doesn't support USB OTG (currently running cm11 nightlies). I've heard it has something to do with the usb connector on the phone not providing power on the cm rom or kernel. Wife's phone is still on TW and otg works every time. I've tried a couple of different kernels with cm11 but no joy.
Anyone have any luck on any AOSP roms? Thanks!

CM12.1 or Stock Marshmallow for Nexus 6?

I'm currently thinking about switching to Marshmallow on my Motorola Nexus 6, but I'm not quite sure what CM12.1 can that Stock Marshmallow isn't capable of. So which features are in CM12.1 that have not yet been implemented in Marshmallow?
I can think of these:
- CM Theme Engine
- Native USB-OTG support (for mounting drives)
(no Xposed on Marshmallow yet)
CM Theme Engine is dying, say goodbye to it. Layers is the new kid on the block and stock marshmallow supports it out of the box. Same goes for otg, stock Android has supported it for a while.

Android TV Remote Control on Marshmallow

Hi,
Since MM I have flashed CM13 and Temasek and I can't connect my phone to my modem router through Android TV Remote Control app.
I don't know if this bug is due to CM roms or if the app has to be updated.
Does it work on your end?
EDIT: doesn't work on Pure Nexus rom either so MM bug.
