Android TV Remote Control on Marshmallow - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Since MM I have flashed CM13 and Temasek and I can't connect my phone to my modem router through Android TV Remote Control app.
I don't know if this bug is due to CM roms or if the app has to be updated.
Does it work on your end?
EDIT: doesn't work on Pure Nexus rom either so MM bug.

but the client's ssl certificate work on official nexus 5
It's possible, that it's not implemented in CM11 yet. If it works on CM10.2, I'll stick with that if it's important to you. I think it will get fixed by upstream changes at some point. Or does it work on other devices running CM11?
Besides that, do you use the CM11 build with 3.0.x or 3.4.x kernel? You should try the most up-to-date version.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
It work fine with this rom and kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320657 version of 12/24/2013 CM10.2
but not with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530073 all version.
Currently my kernel is 3.0.101-Sultan-kernel-ION-r53.
I saw recently some trouble with kitkat and connection to exchange server, i'll look for to this way.
OTA Update
i found that :
"Not long after Google started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update ... now receiving the much-anticipated 57.8MB update — which brings a multitude of security enhancements, bug fixes and speed optimizations but also removes the Apps Ops security app which Google says was “accidentally introduced”
i'll check if my recent rom include this Google update
Android 4.3.1-CM10.2 with ION - Jan 30, 2014
Just confirm the certificate work fine with ROM-Android 4.3.1-CM10.2 with ION - Jan 30, 2014.

Question about Roms, Android Versions, and my GT-N8013

Okay, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013. I have rooted the tablet successfully and installed Omnirom on it, except Omnirom cam with Android 4.4.4 when my device's stock version is Android 4.1.2. After downloading Omnirom I would like to switch to Paranoid Android so I can access the pie feature on my tablet instead of the omnibox.
However, being very new at this, could I use a Paranoid Android Tablet Rom based on Android 4.4.4 instead of the standard 4.1.2? I don't want to go back to 4.1.2, it wasn't fun. I would like to keep Android 4.4.4 and have the updated version of Paranoid Android for my Galaxy Note 10.1 Is this possible?

your question seems odd for some reason im not understanding i guess.
so, you flashed a 4.4.4 rom onto your device and you want to know if you can flash another 4.4.4 rom onto your device that is made for your device correct?
if that is accurate^^, then yes, you can just flash the new rom.
the only possible problem i could see is, if there is an official update to kitkat for your device? if no then there will be no issue.
if there is an official kk for your device, say so and i will elaborate on the possible issues.

Ace Stream on EMUI 3.1

Is there anyone who tried to run Ace Stream on lollipop based EMUI3.1 ?
I'm trying to do that for last week without any result. I found informations about PIE security enablement but changes made on the phone did not resolve the issue.
My colleague test Ace Stream on his Nexus with lollipop and it works properly.
Thanks in advance

CM12.1 or Stock Marshmallow for Nexus 6?

I'm currently thinking about switching to Marshmallow on my Motorola Nexus 6, but I'm not quite sure what CM12.1 can that Stock Marshmallow isn't capable of. So which features are in CM12.1 that have not yet been implemented in Marshmallow?
I can think of these:
- CM Theme Engine
- Native USB-OTG support (for mounting drives)
(no Xposed on Marshmallow yet)
CM Theme Engine is dying, say goodbye to it. Layers is the new kid on the block and stock marshmallow supports it out of the box. Same goes for otg, stock Android has supported it for a while.
