I need a browser recommendation.
I was using Chrome on my M8 and on my S6 so far. I'm trying to ditch it for a browser that will offer better battery life.
Whats making it hard to find one is that I really like Chrome's UI.
I have tried many browsers, but I hate when they have a bar at the bottom with back forward and home like this one
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I've tried Opera, CM UC, Atlas, Lightning, Dolphin and I can't grasp onto one of them after using Chrome for 2 years.
Any recommendation
I also prefer ad block if its available, but its not a big deal if it doesnt
Also, I cant get the stock browser because I'm on Verizon and I'm not rooted and will not be.
Thanks
Try out Fire Fox.

I had problems with Lightning lagging and locking up everyonce in awhile. The other two have very dated UIs.
The closing thing I've got to perfect is CM browser but I don't like the bar at the bottom or the fact the incognito is broken.
I don't remember using CM browser. I use Chrome or Opera most of time. If I know of other good one , be right back.

Chrome dev. No crashes, super fluid, fast, perfect. Best I've used on my s6 so far.
I use adblock browser. It's a beta test but it's great and has no ads.
Anyone tried Mercury browser?
Is Chrome Devs battery better than Chrome reg?

Is there anyway to get the stock browser without root?

I don't believe so. Why not root and flash Clean ROM? KNOX won't be tripped and you can enjoy full control of your phone with all the bloat apps removed and tweaks for better battery and performance.

Don't know how. I also don't want to really do it with the phone under warranty or risk bricking it.

I looked into rooting and I just can't do it after paying $700 for this phone and risk screwing it up or being one of the unlucky people that have KNOX tripped.

I understand. I didn't want to do it either and like you I have a locked bootloader on AT&T. But with Ping-pong root it's just one tap and you're done. It's impossible to brick unless you're purposely trying to mess up the phone. And KNOX never gets touched. But just think about it. You may take the plunge one day.

Its pretty neat. I used older versions alot back in the Windows Mobile days.
It was released on the market. Its $15 though... Still has wm pricing too.
I found a copy on the net but it says it cant find my market purchase and if i hit the home button, it exits. But at least i get to try it.
Still trying to decide whether to buy it.

Just tried it. Although I like the flashyness, warm Z and sense 2.0 are much more functional for me. Partially due to the scrollable widgets...
Did you use it on Warm Z?
Im not sure 15$ is worth it for a launcher....it is cool looking tho

I get a FC trying to run it......Im runn inng Athena

I've tried running it on my Incredible with CM7, and it closes with no error message. I never even get to see the first screen.
Blah.
Looks impressive!
What is even more impressive is that guys ability to keep his left hand so steady.
Not paying $15 for it though.
EDIT: Why not actually. I live with my parents and pay no rent. I'll give it a try and let you guys know what I think of it.
i tried it, wasnt very impressed. after fiddling with it for about two hours i went back to adw launcher ex.
This app is quite pretty, great weather widget with animation, cool picasa widget, just a ton of nice custom widgets but it does leave a few things to be desired. Wish it had scrollable widgets above all, and it would be nice if you could arrange icons how you see fit ( it auto aligns toward the top, you can't put empty spaces between icons or widgets) hopefully the devs will provide quick updates because I could definitely see this being great.

I'm not sure I can spend $15 on this. Most reviewers comment on the performance issues. It looks great, but I'll wait and see if they're able to increase the performance.
I'm running it right now on my CM7 DInc and it runs pretty smooth Its only hiccuped a few times, but I've never had any problems. I actually get better battery life with it than LPP or ADW EX. The launcher with the best battery life would have to be Launcher7.
I am running a cracked version of spb and it's working perfectly absolutely zero performance problems... also there is no need to pay 15 get it free

Technically. However, to play devil's advocate, $15 for any app except maybe office software is ridiculous. Especially for a launcher.

No, it's not 'technically' illegal, it is definitely illegal.
Justifying pirating software because you happen to think the cost to high is just wrong. If you think the cost is too high, don't buy it, but that doesn't give you the right to just take it.
i used this app, its quite great but not better than go launcher ^__^

They said something about 2.2 and supported devices. Since the XT720 doesn't officially have 2.2, dunno if CB froyo counts maybe we're out of the loop on this one. Haha well its not like its going to make a difference in the part of the world where im living anyways, but yeah I like the UI.
As do I.
Anyways google tends to do updates OTA for all devices as long as they meet specifications. I'm confident that as long as you're on 2.2, you'll get it.

Android is android.... there is no such thing as official really, just some companies run by #$%ers that force and open source project to be closed....
So now since we closed it we can call it official,
The market will check your version and update if your version is supported thats all.
If flash will install then you have 2.2 trust me.
If stupid Moto would unlock the damn bootloader we could write a ROM you could flash, but it's not so we found a work around Nandroiiid.
I my opignion every nandroid ever put on this forum is official as long as it boots up and is funtional,
Does anyone remember stock 2.1.1?

Try "the stock monster" in either the Themes or the Developers thread (don't remember which). It's been ripped apart and optimized, then reodexed for stability.
There are a couple of other ones around, especially cogeary's international roms, just be sure to read up on whichever you choose.
Just a question, if you want all of the stock stuff, then why do you want to flash a rom?
Romulus is a great modded ROM, odexed for stability, and uses normal motoblur UI.

That's a great question that I would like to know also! Can someone on another custom ROM type this in terminal emulator (or just go physically check the file with root explorer):
Code:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
If it returns 0, then it's not on.
I became interested in this when I was messing with 0vermind's Speedy script, and checking if things were working. Turns out it was not putting cpu1 online. Even after I echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online myself through terminal emulator, it still returns 0.
So, maybe someone who knows a bit more about this can shed some light..?

That's what I figured - I know that has the Speedy v7 script also, which is supposed to put both cores online - but it looks like it doesn't work on our phones.
Then again, the System Panel app shows both cpu cores running...

The motoblur home is an apk just like anything else. It's just a preinstalled system app. If you have it on one ROM you can decompile the ROM, and move it to another. I don't have the apk handy though. :/

From what I understand the second core only chimes in when the first core gets to a certain percentage of use. That would make sense that it does that to save on battery and allow it to perform seamless performance throughout. Try downloading something and checking while you're downloading.
I don't want to sound inpatient but where are the roms for the att varient, there's a rom for the sprint and verizon.
im really surprised too. i would have thought AT&T would have been the first phone they worked on. im so desperate for a new rom, ill take anything. even a debloated stock rom. im really hoping for a speedy release of cyanogenmod.
Thanks for your hard work devs on cracking that bootloader!

You know you guys can use an app called 3c ( formally Android Tuner ) and you can DeOdex your stock ROM , Trim Partitions, ZipAlign + all sorts of other very useful stuff. You can completely debloat your phone as well.
In the mean time that's what I would just do, although I greatly appreciate a Dev bringing a stock debloated DeOdexed ROM to the table, you can pretty much just do all that yourself and you'll learn a thing or two on the way!
Check out 3c. It has so many options for tweaking.

People are working on roms they are not a quick release. Non stock roms will come it just takes awhile. You have to build a proper device tree then troubleshoot to get the bugs worked out. Once the device tree and bugs are worked out most roms will just have to be compiled from source. It will happen but I think it will be a month or two. As for modified stock that takes time too especially if you want to add modification without the use of xposed you have to decompile apk's and modify them using smali and that takes time.
more than willing to wait for a very nice L rom

The major thing I think people are forgetting is that their might be a few and/or a lot of kernel/roms ready to release already...we are waiting on The bump website to be released so that we can bump the New roms and kernels. I know that I have a built kernel waiting on that very thing and it's flash city!!! When the bump site drops I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see a few flashables drop within hours of that release. It will come I promise you that and when it does people will be fussing about ETAs on Lollipop builds. If you have been on XDA long enough you realize it's the nature of the beast...the endless cycle of why we have forums rules yet a lot of people do not abide by them nor read them. Peace out
Sorry in advance for the details but....In 2 days I'll have my note5 and I wanna know what the best ROM is for either lollipop or MM. Ive had an s6 on a ROM called sick as hell and I loved it....is there a ROM like that or similar? Also, I use a fraction of the features that the average root user uses. I also remove 3/4 of the system apps that eat ram and data an so on, do it to all my phones and ROMs, even on cm and aokp etc.
My second question is, what's a good sound boost script/ audio FX mod? I presently use maxx audio and love it. As for the volume boost mod I use the scripts for the opo. I'm deaf so I need one haha.
Final question I have is....camera app lol. I use a camera app called colorOS. Its a port from the Chinese opo and I love it. The stock camera on all Sammys are fantastic and I take scenic photos somewhat professionally so camera is everything to me aside from battary life. Whats a good camera app eith bomb digity filters? Again sorry for the very long detailed questions.
Final question is kernel and battery life....what's a good kernel for LP or MM that is battery optimized.
I'm using Tekxodus 7.5e
