A few days ago I bought a tablet Ampe A91, and went without the google apps.
I'm interested enough to have them, and I know that I need to root permissions.
I tried vroot, kingroot, framaroot, srsroot, mktdroid, shuame, motochopper_auto_root ... and I have not gained access, as close, is that I installed the application SuperSU but with the message: No binaries for SU installed and can not install SuperSU . This is a problem!
The tablet is MT 6572W and takes android 4.4.2
model number: MID
baseband version MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V43,2014 / 11/12 15:43

Build number MID_20150514
A9008MG_076t custom-built version.
I hope you do not tell me it's impossible

I tried several methods such as DoomLord, SuperOneClick, UnlockRoot, Z4Root,Framaroot,SRS etc to root the phone but none worked.
Tried ADB to manually root the phone through commands but almost every command returns ¨C ¡°Permission Denied¡± or ¡°Read Only System¡±. However files su, SuperUsr.apk, BusyBox were easily pushed into /data/local/tmp. Further steps like making local.prop and onwards could not be executed and returned above stated errors. Also tried modifications by putting update.zip on SdCard root and runningAndroid Recovery System but this method also returned error ¡°SignatureVerification Failed¡±.
Scanned my device with ¡®X-Ray¡¯ app which reported that device or firmware I am using had been patched and is not vulnerable to any of the exploit available at the moment.
I desperately need rooting to remove pre-installed bloatwares and applications to free internal memory which is very less. I am trying to root phone for the last several days but every method has failed. Can any one help??
Hi guys,
short backstory:
I was asked to look for a smartphone to use outdoor, I (unfortunately) picked the IceFox Razor and now we got a bunch of them. Unluckily, I later noticed that those phones come with malware (or something similar), they download and install apps on their own. I couldnt fix that by myself, even after hours of trying.
What I've tried so far:
I gained root access in the shell using the MTK Droid tool and SP flash tool, but guess what: neither the SuperSU nor any other app actually have root permissions. I even tried different SuperSU versions.
Since I am not a programmer and since I only have very little knowledge of Linux, I am stuck now. I dont even know what to actually search for in the webs.
Hardware and software:
Code:

I appreciate any hint and help!
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I can't find anything specific to your device. but I did find this for your chip set, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2574315 It may work on your device, but obviously, no guarantees.
Is there any way to root an NEC Medias N-05D running Android 4.0.4?
I have tried the following, but none of them worked:
* FramaRoot
* KingRoot
* Universal Android Root
* Z4Root
**Update 11/24/16
I also tried TowelRoot modstrings. Choosing method 2 gave the message that the phone should now have root, but Root Checker says it doesn't. Other methods cause the phone to reboot.
In case it helps...

I purchased the following Android 5.1.1 rk3188 unit:
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/Car-...luetooth-andrdoid-5-1-system/32805370646.html
The unit runs on android 5.1.1 and uses an rk3188 chip.
I need to root it because I want to install TomTom GO on it, at the moment i cannot install it because TomTom gives a internet connection error when i start the app.
Elsewhere on the forum i found a solution how to fix this, by changing the serialnumber and or devicetype/make/model etc.
To do this my unit needs to be rooted and xposed installed but currently it isn't rooted, i also want to keep using the stock rom because i like the interface and it has a special option for the MINI (mph button) in the interface.
I tried too root it myself but sadly i failed.
I entered *#hct#root# in factory settings and it stated 'adb rooted' (or something) but still i have no root when i run a root check app.
I then rebooted (as advised) and installed the latest version of kingoroot and ran it, sadly this app reports it has failed to root it.
Now my question is how do i root this device without installing a custom rom and install xposed so i can change my serial number to get tomtom go working?

I always used KingoRoot successfully on all 5.1.1 MTCB ROMs. Did you have Internet access when trying to root? Kingo root needs to download files from the Internet, if you're not connected it won't work.

Yes i had internet and it downloaded files also, but root failed.
Maybe i did it wrong....
Should i reboot after i enabled adb root using factory settings password *#hct#root# ?
Is this correct:
- enable (adb) root factory setting
- reboot
- download and run kingoroot
OR
- enable (adb) root factory setting (do NOT reboot)
- download and run kingoroot

Just download and run kingoroot. The "*#hct#root#" code is no longer working on 5.1.1 ROMs

Looks like you're in the wrong section, you have a MTCD unit, not a MTCB/C
You should look for answers HERE
I recently dusted off a 2012 pre-rooted Android TV box and am trying to attain root again after doing a factory reset.
AMLOGIC Cortex A9 Neon ARMv7L Rev4 32-bit CPU
Mali400 Quad Core 3D GPU
Model: MBX reference board (f16ref)
OS version: ICS 4.0.4
Kernel version: 2.6.34
Build number: ICS.MBX.20120811
Chipset: ARM AMLOGIC Meson3 8726M SKT SH
The CPU Identifier app shows that root access is enabled, as it was before the reset. However, the Root Checker app indicates that I'm not rooted. The Reboot Manager root app also indicates root failure and won't perform. Are there some troubleshooting steps I can take to get apps to respond to root? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know much about android tv, but is it possible you lost you SuperUser app when you factory reset? In this scenario you'd have root, but no root apps would work because the app that authorizes it is not there. Probably need to put SuperSu, Magisk, or similar app on it to have root function.

Yeah, You may have the binaries installed but you might not have the Superuser app installed.
On the Google PlayStore search for SuperSU and download the one by Codingcode Tools.
Not an issue with SuperSU it is all fine on my Android 5.0.2!

Thanks so so much for all replies. The suggestions to install a SU manager app worked and now my root behaves as expected.
I didn't try SuperSU because that one caused my issues in the first place with a "binary occupied" error. Superuser ClockworkMod v1.0.3.0 worked as expected. Thanks again.
