[Q] AT&T LG G3 D850 Bootlooping/Bricked Issue? - AT&T LG G3

Hello. So I woke up two days ago to my AT&T LG G3 continuously boot-looping. With further investigation (and many attempts to factory reset), I come to the conclusion it might definitely be bricked. It does let me go to the factory reset screen and download mode, so I'm assuming it's soft-bricked.:crying:
I've been through many forums and many sites, accumulating all sorts of downloads which include LG Flash Tool 2014, LG United Mobile Driver, the stock firmware for the D850, the .dll file, LG PC suite (which will not connect to my phone[in download mode]), and a couple others. On all these tutorials, there was always a stopping point because I either could not find the correct file it was telling me to find (so I tried different downloads and zilch), or was not connecting to my phone.
Wondering why anything I tried was not connecting to the phone, I went to the device manager to look at the ports, and it showed me QHSUSB_BULK under the "Other Devices" List. (Note: There was no option for the ports. Not sure why.)
I tried to find the driver online and install it and I tried a couple different files and they all had the same message of encountering an error.
My phone is in download mode, ready and physically connected. I am now not sure what move to make at this point.
HELP!
Also, the driver site I used showed all the driver downloads to fix the QHSUSB_BULK issue, and they all said Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader9008. I'm not sure what that means, or if knowing more about that can help me fix this problem. I would like to know more about that as well.. Thank you!
{UPDATE} {6/2}
So I found a way for the computer to read my phone (well, a little bit). I needed to get it to read it as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008". It's more of a step in the right direction. I still need it to eventually read it as LGE whatever it is. So I got it to QD loader mode by downloading the correct driver file after many sad attempts and many computer restarts later. Unfortunately, I still am having trouble finding the correct DL's to get it to read it as my phone. I'm also told I can flash it through BoardDiag. I've been attempting to do so but again having no luck. It keeps saying there's either a file it doesn't want in there (after extracting .mbn files [which I have no idea what i'm supposed to do with them]), or it says "There is no partition file(rawprogram0.xml). Mainly the latter. This is currently where I'm stuck at.

Follow the directions here on this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
But you'll have to google to find the stock kitkat .tot file . I'll explain in depth more later when I get home from work if you haven't figured it out by then .

What i'm wondering is about the KDZ files. I ended up with a few different ones. I'm not sure where those are supposed to be located

That's why I said you'll need the .TOT, I couldn't find any .kdz files . follow the instructions that use the .tot file I think it's the second post I'm not sure .

Found what you meant, didn't realize there was another set of instructions underneath the KDZ post. But Step #5 tells me to copy the the Megalock.dll into the C:\LG\LGFlashtool file. I have the dll extracted and ready to go, now I cannot find the the Flashtool file. I enabled hidden files and it's still non-existent. I used the file that was given to me.

Yup I know. I'm home from work now. Go to this site and download the LG Flash Tool https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B34qnFE3O_HbcHM5LWFKcU84WjA/edit
It will install, and that's the proper flash tool so you can put the megalock.dll file there.

I assume you can follow instructions, but since I've done this about 5 times now lol I'll just walk you through it. Make SURE the right drivers are installed on the PC for the phone. Plug the device in to the computer. Open Device Manger on the computer. Go to the Ports section in device manager, double click your device, go to Port Settings tab, click Advanced, and change the port com number to 41. Hit OK, then OK again. Then open the Flash Tool. The screen should pop up eventually, click manual in the upper left corner, click the little ... dots to the right of the blank box that says DLL and find the DLL file you already downloaded. Then under that, where it says S/W, click the Add button to the right and find the .TOT file. Leave all other selections the way they are. click ok. On the next screen, click the little yellow arrow in the upper left hand corner. It will start doing things for a second and then stop. Now unplug your phone from the computer, leave it out a second, then plug it back in. Bam, everything should start working. When it's COMPLETELY done you will see a number 3 on the screen. Pull the battery, put it back in, you're done.

That's where my problem is.. It isn't giving me the port option. It says QHSUSB_BULK under neath the tab "other devices" there is literally no Ports and Com LPT option. When I click view > devices by connections, the QHSUSB_BULK shows up under a tab called "Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Root Hub". Not sure if that means anything in any way. I downloaded and installed the LG Drivers and they were successful. But nothing is showing up. I would send a picture but i started this account today just for this issue so it won't let me send any external links.

Well that's interesting. I've never come across that issue before. I did some googling and I'm thinking Renesas is the manufacturer of an important component inside our phones, I didn't get too deep into it. I did also find this , but i wouldn't try it unless you're absolutely sure there's no other way you can fix your device. It sounds kinda risky. http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/fix-unbrick-lg-g3-stuck-qualcomm-hs-usb-t2933853

1 problem with that, Are you using a USB 3.0 port and or a USB hub? That can be your problem, It needs to be plugged directly into the computer AND it WONT work with a USB 3.0 port. USB 2.0 port only.
About the com port not showing up, Are you running Windows 8? That might be the cause.

Im a little confused as to whats going on here, having trouble finding the correct DLL? Theres only 1 DLL file for the D850 which is in my guide.
You should just plug in your phone while holding volup and it will go into download mode, You change the LGE com port to com41 and your good to go to use flashtool.

What downloads are not? Link? I have 1,000s of files. And there's no problems with any of the files in my guide currently.
It was down for about 1min this morning and down about 5 min earlier due to upgrades and reboots but other wise they have been working.
EDIT: Just tested in several locations links are all working fine.
And please reread the post above your post above ^^ I edited it and added more right at the time you posted

I followed your original guide letter by letter and it worked just fine....but only after I uninstalled all android related drivers and only installed LGs. I had Motorola drivers for my previous 3 android phones already installed and something between the Moto and LG drivers didn't quite jive.
And a big tip I highly recommend is to only use a USB 2 port that's directly connected to the motherboard. Simply changing from the front panel to the back port fixed all the flashing errors my Atrix HD was having. I've always used a back port since and every bad flash after that has been either user error or a bad download (md5 ftw).
You said a lot of that, but Bears Bears Bears Bears Bears Bears and all.

[Q] Droid Razr Locked or Bricked...Please Help!!!

Admins, I apologize if i post in the wrong area. I searched and followed the rules to the best of my knowledge. Please go easy on me? I am going crazy trying to figure out what to do. My razr is rooted. I downloaded a font updater app from the android market, updated some fonts, used the reboot button in options in the app, super user granted permissions and it went to reboot. It is now stuck in the bootloop. i have held the power and volume down button to do the hard reboot but it stalls at the first boot screen. I held down the power and volume down button until screen goes off then released and pressed it again quickly and it brings a screen which says the following...
AP Fastboot Mode (S)
0A.66
Device is LOCKED, Status Code: 0
Battery, OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
(NOTE: I have the USB cable plugged in to my PC at the moment)
PLEASE help me??? I am not a genius at mobile devices or much else for that matter. What can I do to fix my phone. I'm on US Verizon using Motorola I am using a stock gingerbread rom with 2.3.5 and rooted. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
OnTheLevel
This is the thread you want:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416058
There's a dedicated forum for the RAZR, you'll have more luck there. I only found your thread because I was searching for other things.
I have two solutions for u:
1. flash your phone with any rom you want.
2. find a file named "DroidSansFallback.ttf" on another phone(/system/font)
or rename a correct ttf file to DroidSansFallback.ttf.
download the attachment, use your file replace the
system/font/DroidSansFallback.ttf in the zip file.
rename the zip file to update.zip
reboot to recovery to install teh update.zip.
(or you can use a recovery tools to install it)
Problem Solved
Thank you guys for the replies. I have fixed my razr by using the FastFlash files I found. I am so new to this all and searched so many different places that I can not even remember where I downloaded them from. My apologies. Next time I will try to be more diligent and explain what I did to fix the problem for others to use for possible resolutions to their own similar issues.
Thanks Again,
OnTheLevel
if device rooted and bootstrapped
This is normal, go into boot strap and select boot recovery.

make sure you are using a usb 2 port not usb3. if that doesnt work try another usb2 port if you have one.
im not sure what files you have to flash, but if you got to the 926 development forum and look for the razr utility made by me, may be a page or so back. download the one you need, there are many versions. all instructions you should need to use the tool are in my post there.

First of all, thank you. it is really important I get this phone working again! I will look back, I just don't understand how to get a command line prompt to send files. I can get the dead android on the screen, but don't know how/where to go from there. I have been able to acess the menu with the "recovery, fastboot, and ap tools" and there is another screen I have gotten to, but don't know how I did it, with a blue menu that has something like "send ADB file" or something like that and another few options. which part of the menu do I have to be in? and how do I know if it is a usb 2, not 3? if I go into the fastboot screen where it says "phone is locked, status 0, I can hear it connect when the computer beeps, but it doesnt show in my computer. the phone will say"USB connected" though.
Thank you for any guidance you can provide. not that I wanted to do emergency surgery, but I have been meaning to learn this stuff anyhow.

usb 3 ports are usually blue in the center, but not always. the older your pc is, more likely you have little or no 3.0 and mostly 2.0. the newer the pc it, it tends to reverse that.
fastboot is the one you want to choose. after choosing fastboot, you dont need to do anything else to the phone. thats basically download or flash mode.
all the rest of the work is done by my script after you start it.
one other thing, since your phone is Locked its important to get the proper version of the utility. your options are only to flash the same software or newer. if you dont know what version you were on, you will just have to use the newest version to be safe.
When I click on the " This, and this" haha. all I get is a screen full of nonsense. it doesnt save anywhere on my pc.
or is it actually going to the phone?

They are downloading now. When they are done downloading, I'll see how I do from there. SHould the SD card be in the phone, or directly in my laptop with an adapter? and...All my equipment is at least 6 years old. I checked, and have no blue USB ports. I have an antique Vaio and a gateway netbook.
I have both open, so I can download on one, and research with the other. lol.

the flashing has nothing to do with your sd card, but if you have something important on there and want to be sure its safe, you can remove it.
in some of my scripts, there is an option to wipe data or not, im not sure about the one i gave you. if the option is there, you should choose the wipe option, unless you have something on the phone itself really important you are trying to save.

[Q] Help Un-bricking Sensation 4G?

So I checked the existing pages about bricked Sensations but I didn't
see any predicaments that were quite this bad let alone a fix. Anyways;
Was updating to newest firmware 3.24 because I was getting ready to flash a
new ICS rom. Updated fine in Hboot, and then I somehow managed to reboot before I could get into clockwork recovery mod. Got caught in a boot-loop so I
pulled the battery to try to get back into fastboot and it wouldn't even turn on.
So I pulled the battery again, held the power button to drain any power and put the battery back in and tried it again. It will not charge, the led will not turn on, and it gets a black screen with the back-light on. Can not get into anything, kinda looking like the internal memory was wiped somehow.
So are there any fixes? Or am I screwed? If so if I call tmobile will they replace it (in the event that everything was wiped)? Any help appreciated!

Have you tried downloading a stock RUU and running that?

Well, i am in the same situation with my sensation, it doesn't power on and when connected to the pc it shows up as QHSUSB_DLOAD and the driver was not found auto by windows
i'm going to provide the links to the program and the driver in the thread i started to get the QCN File...
The standard answer provided here in that situation is that your phone is bricked and you need to send it to HTC for warranty reparation...I am going to try to get a DIY method to reflash your phone from scratch (as now it's waiting for a ROM to be download (Qualcomm High Speed USB DownLOAD mode)

Everything is explained in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468791
How much help can you be? simple, i need a dump of the rom which runs on your Sensation, but not an .img file, but a .qcn file, QPST provides that feature, but it hardcodes you EMEI and serial into it, therefor i need to get all the info about your phone, all numbers you can provide that are listed on the box in order to get searching for those variables in that file which is dumped...
When found i can change them into my vars, to try and flash the phone back to life... i geuss it'll be a work off about a week to get everything found in a 400MB file or so

OK well I already have QPST and the QHSUSB drivers downloaded but QPST cannot see my phone. I found something on an LG forum explaining how to get the COM port number from Device Manager but my phone doesn't show up the same way.
Can you tell me how to find my COM port?

Yep
Windows 7?
Open your Control Panel from your start menu and put it on classic view, in order to see the device manager link, open this.
There you will see Ports (COM & LPT)
Unfold this and you will see your device there with a (COMx) behind it
in the QPST configurator you will have a tab with the name: Ports
click this
on the right bottom there is a button: Add New Port
click this, a dialog will open where you can see your ports, click the port which is of your phone, if not seen, just type COMx (x being the number stated in the device manager)
And press OK
As from now you will be able to see your phone on the first tab normally seen
now go to the menu "Start Clients"
SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD
If you see that the port is not correct on top, click the Browse next to it in order to choose the correct port, you'll see it will detect your phone then...
Goto the Backup tab and click browse, give the file a place and name, press start...
Then wait i guess, i am not in the possition to know how long it would take...
Now you have the QCN file made as i need in my post
This is a hexadecimal dump of your phone in Quallcomm Bundle Numeric format, with that we can start figuring out, how to get your serial number, emei etc out, to infuse our own to get our phone back up and running by using the restore function of the QPST program
Clear enough? :s
---------- Post added at 12:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:30 PM ----------
It might also be that due to the fact that your phone is actually a still working exemplar that you need to follow the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1180211 in order to get your phone connected in QPST

Many thanks, i'm gonna PM you with my info (as promissed in my thread)
So I've gone back to ENG HBOOT 1.17 and Telstra stock ROM, Clockwork Recovery 5.0.0.8 and rooted. I have USB debugging on and am in diagnostic mode but I still don't get HTC Diag device or anything like it in Device Manager. I've shown hidden devices in there too.
The only phone related item I have is Portable Device, when expanded it says D:\ (which is my SD card drive in the phone). I tried changing USB mode from charge to disk to sync and every other option but still don't see the device in Device Manager.
Not sure what else I can do here .... Plus it's pretty late and I want to restore my phone before bed. If you can think if anything I've done wrong or anything I can try differently, please let me know and I'll try tomorrow.
No problem man, i know there is a time difference between Belgium and Australia
Have you checked that the phone is in charge mode and not in disk drive mode?

[Q] restoring bricked oneplus one problem

First of all, when I'm in the wrong thread, sorry!
So here I go. I guess i bricked my 1+1. Doesn't turn on, only black screen and if i push a button, it vibrates. Looked up for solutions, and found one here somewhere. It's with the recoverytool or with ColorOS.
So I tried to follow the steps. Everything works fine, in Device Manger, the phone is now recognised as Qualcom HS_USB QDloader 9008 (COM3). Til here no problems at all. Then I installed the set-up file, compatibilitymode, run as admin.
I open the recoverytool, and i scan for the device. It should appear as COM. But nothing shows up. It's weird because Windows recognises the device.
What am I doing wrong? What can help?
Thanks

Have you installed the Qualcomm driver? Its very tricky,Windows wont allow to install it easily.
Yes I did, I was able to switch to non signed in Win8 via F7 in a menu. Thats why it changed from BULK to qualcomm qd9008 on a COM port. Or cant I be sure its done propermy when the name changed?

The easiest way for unbricking oneplus (yes, I tried it): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55024864&postcount=136
ColourOS firmware has all needed files for proper flashnig, including right tool for doing that.
Only thing that didnt work on my Win 8.1 x64 was drivers mentioned in post above.
I had to use this QHSUSB_DLOAD drivers from member DallasCZ (that I used for unbricking ZTE v9180). Only with that drivers my Windows recognized bricked phone and Flash tool could find and flash it.
Flash tool in only on chinese, that is a bit problem, but instructions given in post I linked are more/less usefull.
This is a link to DallasCZ shared folder with qhsusb drivers:
https://drive.google.com/folderview...&usp=sharing&tid=0B1T7tp6tJ_3kQkZSWjNsazJZbGc
If you are sure the driver is okay, plug in the usb cable and out and in,until you see the green line on the tool. Also you can follow the guide as in below link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/tool-oneplusrecovery-tool-v1-0-restore-t2991851
The same thing but this time you can flash CM11s instead of ColorOs.Also there is a video.Pls check it.
Ok so I did the process over and over again, the sixth computer did it right! I was back on ColorOS and now back to CM11S.
This thread can be closed, thanks for the help!
No problem, glad to hear you solved the problem

[ROM][GUIDE] LG Optimus Zone 3 (LG VS425PP) Stock 5.1.1 Firmware & Restoration

LG OPTIMUS ZONE 3 - UNBRICKING GUIDE AND 5.1.1 FACTORY FIRMWARE
This guide has two main objectives: (1) for those with a bricked device who want to restore to the latest factory firmware image; and (2) those who need .kdz Stock 5.1.1 Factory Firmware files.
1. UNBRICKING THE LGVS425PP:
The Verizon LGVS425PP comes, pre-installed on the device, a Windows compatible LG Software Upgrade and Repair utility. When connected via micro USB cable, your device will connect to your PC as an installer and, if you look in your PC directory, you will see an installation directory for the Verizon LG utility. Inside that directory is an .exe file that will install the upgrade/repair utility on your PC. When launched, the utility will auto detect your device, determine if a firmware update is available, and give you an option to repair your device. The repair option will backup your existing userdata (depending on the level of damage to the firmware), download the most recent firmware build for your device, and flash your device to complete stock condition.
Of course, there are those who bricked their devices before being able to install the Verizon LG Upgrade/Repair utility on their PCs. And this utility appears difficult to locate for download on the internet. So, below is a download link for the utility:
DOWNLOAD LINK
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B1Sfod4HWfk2elpGQ3JEbzF4Q0E?usp=sharing
The Verizon LG utility should install the correct USB mobile drivers on your PC. But just in case any driver issues arise, download and install the following LG United Mobile Driver package:
DOWNLOAD LINK
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Sfod4HWfk2RHY2c29mTWg1Rkk/view?usp=sharing
Once the utility is launched, make sure your PC is connected to the internet, put your device in download mode by holding +Volume while connecting your micro USB cable for your PC connection. The utility will then detect your device. Select the REPAIR option and follow the on-screen instructions.
2. STOCK 5.1.1 FACTORY FIRMWARE
The following link is for four software versions of stock 5.1.1 Factory Firmware .kdz files for the Optimus Zone 3: VS425PP2, VS425PP4, VS425PP7 & VS425PP8. Also in the link is the LG United Mobile Driver, the LG-UP flashing tool, and the LG-UP .DLL for the VS425PP. Use these tools at your own risk. I am not responsible for bricked or inoperable devices. I want to thank each and every member in this thread who has tested and reported their findings and issues. That narrows it down greatly. And thanks guys for your patience.
As to rooting the Zone 3, several recent advancements have been achieved and full root access is now possible. Thanks to @Astr4y4L, a comprehensive root package is available for download. http://astrayalslanding.dynu.net:88/Android_Development/ Click on this link and scroll down the the bottom and click the projects link. His package includes precise instructions and alI the files you will need to root this phone. I am currently drafting a concise tutorial for downgrading this phone. Instructions for downgrading can be found within this thread, albeit somewhat scattered. I will update the OP accordingly as further progress is made. Guys, please be sure to thank @Astr4y4L for his unceasing hard work and development on this device. If you like his work and benefit from it, donations are always nice, even if just a couple bucks.

I was attempting to test this on a phone i purchased just yesterday. The about phone section identifies this phone as a vs425pp but under the battery it's identified as a VS425LPP.
The drivers install successfully. The LGUP and LGUP .dll install fine. But when i start LGUP i get an error saying that it can't load the model. looks like i can't attach a picture probably because i'm new but i do have screencaps. I've tried it on my laptop where i do most of my android stuff and on my desktop, same problem on both. According to the LG Mobile Support Tool this one has VS245PP5 installed.
LGUP will start without the phone connected telling me there is no compatible handset attached and then show me a com window. But when i connect the phone it throws the same error and exits.
I must be the biggest idiot, because I cannot figure out how to get into download mode - I power off the device, then while holding the power and volume up key I plug in the usb cord from the Computer. I get the buzzing on the phone, the Verizon logo comes up, and i'm on the home screen. What am I doing wrong?

never mind, I got it - it's the volume down and power, not volume up -

ok, apparently, that's the restore function, not the download mode - I can't seem to figure out the combo of buttons for the download mode - as above, I go volume up and power then when it vibrates I plug it in?? any suggestions??

With your device connected go to Device Manager. Look under Portable Devices, Ports and Com's, etc and look for LGE notations of your device. If you see a yellow question mark by any of the LGE notations, your issue is drivers.

The initial solution was to reinstall the drivers, did not work.
Second solution discovered in reference to samsung devices was to delete a registry key called UpperFilters from the WPD section. Did not work.
The third solution i've found involves downloading the Android SDK and installing it.
This last one seems sort of like a nuclear option. But i'm running out of ideas. the MTP and PTP transfer modes install and start correctly when the device is booted normally but when booted into download mode it just goes code 10. I'm working on the third option now but it will take a while to download.

It didn't work. Still code 10. I tried on a third computer, an old Dell laptop running Windows XP. It gave a strange error Code 28 saying something about an invalid service section of the INF. But i think this may be a red herring and actually be caused by Windows Media Player 11 not being installed. I'll have to setup an installation of Windows 7 to try that.
Edit: looks like i'm going to have to give up trying to fix the code 10 error because NONE of the information from google is relevant to this. All the information is for the phone being started normally and being unable to access the MTP file transfer through normal working operation. None of it relates to this "download mode" that LG has implemented. I wish this were easy like my Galaxy Nexus was back in the day.

Yeah tell me about it. The good ol' Nexus days were much simpler. I'm like you....I think its a Red Herring of some sort you are dealing with. Something so obvious and so simple that it is hiding behind a thin wall.
I'm searching right now trying to help too.
Hi MotoJunkie01,
I appreciate you putting together this guide but I have to say that I no further along than everyone else here. Similar to Metalchic I received the "can't load model" error from LGUP. Googling around i found that I was missing the LGUP_common.dll file. Found that and LGUP opened fine and found my device. Tried to flash VS425PP2 kdz got to about 9% and received "Secure device, But Unsecure image" error. And that's as far as i got.
As far as the LG Android MTP driver goes i also receive the code 10 cannot start error but only when the phone is in download mode. Otherwise the driver loads fine when the phone is "booted". I dont know jack about rooting phones and have never done it before. I had this one lying around and thought I'd try it. Hopefully all this helps to narrow down the issue.

Thanks for pointing out the common .dll file. I will edit that in my thread for download. I am not sure on the MTP error. I have two of these Zone 3s lying around and neither gives any type of error on MTP. Almost certainly sounds like a driver related issue though. Im going to uninstall drivers and everything on my end, do factory resets, and reinstall everything and walk back through the process from scratch. See if I can pinpoint the issue.

like roscoemctavish i was able to grab the LGUP_common.dll file and put it into ..\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\common and then LGUP started detecting my phone. It only takes the kdz file type under the Upgrade selection. But like roscoemctavish i ran into the 'unsecured image secured device' error. Still code 10 on the MTP driver but i don't think it's related to this. Maybe though.

OK. So both you guys having the stop at 9% please try this. Rename the VS425PP2 file to the filename VS425PP6. Then flash the .kdz.
For now I'm editing the thread down to unbricking via the Verizon LG utility and I'll give links to the .kdz files. It's back to the drawing board guys. I'm very sorry. Please know that I am working hard on it.

No worries man and I appreciate just having this as a potential option. If it matters I have tried to root my phone with Kingoroot. Of course it fails but the software status has changed to "modified". Current software version is VS425PP5.
I did try changing the filename "VS425PP2_02_ARB00.kdz" to "VS425PP6.kdz" and flashing with the same result (Stops at 9% with unsecure image error). There is a log file in the "\LGUP\model\common\LOG" folder which when opened in notepad produces unreadable text. Let me know if I can provide anything else.
Thanks!

T-Mobile OnePlus -- Hard (HARD) Brick

Sorry for lack of details, but I'm not sure it will help anyway. Feeling pretty bad right now.
T-Mobile Oneplus 7 Pro. 256GB version.
I wanted to go to stock OxygenOS after buying the branded version two weeks ago.
I successfully got T-Mobile to unlock my SIM, and got OnePlus to send me unlock code for my bootloader after a week.
Successfully unlocked via fastboot. Tried several times to flash TWRP and no success using fastboot.
Tried MSM-Downloader from guacamole_21_O.07_190512_repack and successfully held volume both buttons to connect to the PC. MSM-Downloader said it was successfully connected.
I cannot find the exact error message I got from MSM-Downloader, but it said it didn't match plus another error message. At that point, my heart sank.
USB Device Not Recognized keeps popping up on windows again and again, while the connect sound plays. Doesn't matter if I hold down the volume buttons or not.
Can't get into qualcomm EDL mode. My guess is I hosed my boot and now it restarts endlessly when connected to anything at all.
Is this the end of my journey? I did tons of research on the best phone and the best deals available to save money, but looks like I played myself here with lack of caution.
I would suggest following this guide to attempt reflashing of the international firmware (use the androidfilehost download).
If that also fails, you could always just reflash the TMO firmware with this guide.

I cannot get into EDL. Regardless of what buttons I press (I am holding both volume buttons down in excess of 5 seconds) when connecting USB to the phone, Windows makes the "connect" sound endlessly and the driver isn't recognized.
If I can get into EDL, I will definitely try the above.
Do you have the proper drivers installed to use EDL mode?
Also, if you go into the Device Manager, do you see the phone in there? Should pop up as something like "Qualcomm HS-USB 9008" or some variant of that.

Ok. I may be making progress thanks to your help but do have some hurdles I can see.
I do see the device when I hook it up to another computer. It shows up as Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed).
When I go to device manager to manually update the driver, and browse to the location I extracted the CAB file into, I see lots of devices to choose from, but the Qualcomm driver cab file list does not show "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" as an option. I see many Qualcomm USB Composite Devices in the list but none I have chosen seem to work (install fails).
Hmm. I know it may be an obvious question, but just to be sure, you're using the cable that came with the device correct?

Yes, that is correct. Same cable i used to get into fastboot, etc... The original PC I caused the problems with recognized the device differently (showed up as a Qualcomm device) when I got into EDL with it before.
Edit: First event when plugging it into this second PC under device properties:

I just did some googling and found this article. Perhaps you can try the drivers in this guide? They are .exe files so they should be easy to install, but I'm not sure if the other drivers I provided have any OnePlus specific stuff in it, but it's worth a shot.

I've already tried the .zip version with no success. I am loath to install an .exe file (don't want to make the problem worse by infecting my PC) but may as well. I will restart and report back. Thank you again for your attention.
If this doesn't bear fruit, I may be SOL, correct?

Mmm. The link I gave seems to have been blocked by XDA when I tried to access it from my post. Never had a problem myself with that site, but who knows.
You should be able to ultimately recover the phone though. Perhaps asking in one of the unbrick threads? OnePlus phones are theoretically unbrickable because we have good access to our EDL mode.

I'll try there next. Can't seem to get any of my windows machines to recognize the thing.

OK! I found on reddit that if you hold your vol up + down + power for 30 seconds, it will boot back into fastboot, which it did! Holy **** I'm so happy. Haven't even seen if the PC recognizes it but will check now. If it does, I just need to not screw up the conversion to international.
Thank you for your "unbrickable" comment. That gave me hope to not give up.

I just wanted to share a tip. After you load the msmtool and before you connect your phone with the cable, click the start button, the message will read "waiting for device". Then, as soon as you plug in the cable while holding the p-up and p-down, the msmtool will automatically start. No more rushing to hit the start button before EDL mode times out.

That's pretty cool. Makes the whole process much less stressful.
Got it up and running with international version. Now to see if I can get LOS installed. My sincere thanks to all and apologies for crapping up the board with my panic. I thought I had really screwed up, but it appears it was just stuck in EDL mode and needed a hard (HARD) reset.
Hey man, thanks for the donation. Glad you were able to get your phone up and running!
Holy Sh*t man. I know 5 bucks ain't much but I wanted to thank you so much. I thought I was fukd
