[Completed] [Q] Should I unroot to accept OTA? - XDA Assist

I had rooted my Lenovo A 7000 and installed CWM recovery(ported one as posted in XDA forum). Now I came to know that there is a new OTA update available. SO What should I do : (1) Directly accept update the OTA without unrooting, or (2) first unroot through SuperSu, then accept the available OTA, or (3) Should I apply the update( after downloading flashable zip file for this OTA, if available) through CWM recovery? Then, will I lose root and what difficulty may I face in re-rooting it after the update?

Hi there,
Sorry but I don't find any relevant info about OTA update to your device and you can ask directly in the thread bellow where owners can help you better:

You have one app which is named OTA ROOTKEEPER. (This application makes a backup or a protected backup of your device's root. Your device must already be rooted: OTA RootKeeper doesn't have the ability to root devices.
If you are just rooted but always locked, with this app you can backup and restore your root.
And use this for root : [ROOT/ROM] Root Stock/Deodex Firmware 10.4.2.20 (US/WW) | Insecure kernel !

[Q] Flashable ZIP OTA update

Hello to everyone,
I have a Moto G of a friend. He would to update to last OTA update but he already did root & custom recovery (cwm recovery)..
The OTA update fails with the custom recovery as we expected... so we tried to flash stock recovery, but also this make the update fails...
So my question is if and where we can find a zip of the OTA update flashable with CWM or TWRP recovery...
Hoping you can help us
Regards
Davide
Flash stock fw first then apply OTA.
is there a way without losing everything?
Of course it is,just dont enter last 2 commands(wipe cache and data) and you are good.

[Completed] How to go back to stock recovery in XT1040

Hello and good evening. My problem is that i rooted my phone around 4 months ago, to do that i had to install a custom recovery, which is TRWP, can't remember the version. Thing is, that i want to get my original recovery, so i can recieve the OTA for 5.1. I dowloaded some files from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/xt1039-moto-g-4g-stock-firmware-kxb21-t2805619 i got the brazilian firmware which is the one that is supossed to work with my phone. But in the files i see a recovery one, so my question is, should i follow the steps on the tutorial or i can flash just the recovery over the TRWP ? Thanks for your responses.

Flashing the complete stock firmware will overwrite your custom recovery with the stock one.
But you can also flash the stock recovery separately afterwards.
I know that Chainfire has stock recovery in his CF-AutoRoot files which will also replace the current recovery with the stock recovery.
Here is the CF-AutoRoot thread for your device: [KitKat] [Lollipop] Root XT1039/XT1040 CF-Auto-Root Peregrine By Chainfire by TheFixItMan.
If you need further help for your device, please register on xda and ask in the Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
Good luck !

Can I upgrade to Marshmallow via OTA if my phone is rooted ?

Lenovo k3 note. It's is rooted and cwm recovery is installed. I downloaded Marshmallow update through OTA but the update failed to install. Is it because of the cwm recovery ? Also after the update failed to install, it's asking again to download the update. Any help ?
