[Q] Removing MultiWindow Restrictions - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Are there any root apps or custom ROMs that let us use MultiWindow with any app? I see a few that only work with Xposed but of course Xposed isn't working yet.

MW Commander will allow you to use any app in multiwindow. You need root and it's a paying app, but worth its money.

All I can do is Greenify only those apps installed by me.

If You don't used them just disable them. There isn't much more you can do, without root.

Yes you can greenify all unwanted system apps like maps and YouTube or any other, For that you have to buy greenify donation pack and only after that you can enable experiment feature and after that you can greenify them......

But without root will work?
I mean the donation package, will it work without root? In its description in play store it says its for root only.
If you or anyone is using it without root please let me know.

You need root for any app installed in /system/app and /system/priv-app. That applies even if you download updates for such an app.
Greenify w/o root is not very effective, it actually needs xposed module to work properly for system apps.
The paid version needs root too.
Without root, you can only hibernate apps installed by yourself and that's about it.

Yes it works, I am using beta 9 version of greenify with donation package and I am able to use it without a single problem and I am on non rooted device, it treat user apps and system app in same manner as you know the principal of greenify it creates a widget on home screen and when you click on it, you will close all running apps by force closing it, yes its a experimental feature and even play store talk about "SOME EXPERIMENT FEATURES (REQUIRE ROOT)" that means not all features required root but still I happy with it, it does what it says..... It greenify system app....

You could just go to the Application Manager and disable the bloat yourself without needing to go through this 3rd party software stuff.

You could disable apps like whats new, xperia lounge. App manager wont let you disable certain system apps. Yea sure you could do it thru adb. I think this is just easier.
I've been using Titanium Backup to uninstall bloatware. It deletes system apps too if you're rooted.
Is there a list anywhere of apps it's safe to uninstall? Some are obvious but things like Album could be tied to the camera and stuff.

Greenify question

Hey there,
For some bizarre reason Instagram & Facebook do not appear in the list of possible apps to hibernate. Does anyone have an idea of why I cannot add & hibernate these apps?
Many thanks,
Because both are system apps in S6 and you need donate version of greenify
Thanks! Working now with donate version. I should have figured that knowing that they were preinstalled as system apps.
Ty sir!

I'm also using Greenify paid version, but even though I have enabled the system app option, I can't seem to find Chrome in the list. Any idea why?

I think it also needs xposed to let Greenify donated doing this but S6 doesn't has xposed yet.

Yeah, seems like it. Don't know why donation is enough for some system apps, while other system apps also require xposed...
Could have just uninstalled them as system apps and reinstalled through app store boom works.
Donating is always good as well
Whenever I hit to hibernate, it always says there is nothing to hibernate. This was not the case before I factory reset. I can't even tell if greenify is doing anything. I'm not rooted. Any thoughts?

[Help] Introduce an app to avoid auto start

Hi, I've got root and xposed installed.
And already have installed amplify, greenify, no wakelock and bootstart manager.
But none of these was able to block an app from auto starting when phone is on.
Yea, it kills the app when you click on the greenifys shortcut, but I dont refer to that, I want an app which can disable the autorun service of the app.
Can anyone introduce a way or an app for that?
Thanks.

You mean an app like autostarts? Which alters the criteria to said apps??
Used to use it years ago but it's still available..
Not a task manager but an actual app that manages changes.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.elsdoerfer.android.autostarts
Not free but definitely worth a £1
Hope this helps..
