Oxygen OS 1.0.0

As of yesterday my phone has been crashing. Most of the time it's when I'm typing. Screen goes black for about 15 seconds then the home screen loads.
I updated and downloaded a few apps prior to the problem, Swiftkey update was one, and since it happened when typing I just went and uninstalled Swift and used Google Keyboard. Still happening. So I un-installed the other apps; Dashlane, G+, Google Pictures, Netflix, Microsoft Office Lens, Hola, PayPal, Linkedin, True Silent Mode for Lollipop (works really well to get silent mode in 5.0)
Still crashing. At one point yesterday it loaded into Safe Mode.
When it crashes it never reboots, I never see the boot animation, just black screen then loads up the home screen.
Any ideas?

Well, your best bet is to pull a logcat and latest kmsg from the kernel so the more experienced can pinpoint what is crashing your phone. Guides how to do these are over in General section.

Hi
I updated my Nexus 5 to Lollipop via the autoupdater and while I initially disliked the look and how really counterintuitive everything suddenly was, it has now become practically unusable.
For starters, apps crash all the time. Simply using Chrome or UC browser results in a crash back to "desktop" every few seconds and when the browser is reopened it is back to the main page having lost any tabs etc.
This also happens with other apps such as the music player which closes and when reopened my audiobook is reset back a random amount.
When this crash happens, I find myself on the main page of the phone but it is totally blank for a few seconds until it jerks right, then left and some app icons appear and then freezes a few more and the rest appear, as if it has reset.
I have today discovered this 'crash' happens even when the phone is locked now as my wife tried to call me and got VMail so sent a few texts which I didn't get til I unlocked my phone and experienced the same blank screen and slow reappearance of apps and finally a missed call and 3 texts.
All in all my phone is pretty useless now. Any apps I run inevitably crash and unless my phone is unlocked I cannot receive calls or emails/texts.
Any ideas or plans for this shambles to be fixed?
Thanks
Easy to fix - wipe it and flash a factory image...
Has anybody ever seen anything like this? I'm experiencing a black box popping up maybe 20 seconds or so after booting that is unclosable with lorem ipsum text in it, here are some screenshots:

The box cannot be closed, and anything above it doesn't respond to touch input, but everything below it can still be used (like the shortcuts to chrome, contacts, etc. in the last screenshot). This box persists everywhere, including the lock screen.
Additionally, when I go to the lock screen the screen starts turning on and off rapidly, forcing me to reboot by holding the power and volume down key into maintenance mode.
I am able to start the phone in safe mode with no problems (safe mode disables all apps that aren't samsung or google), making me believe it's a third party app that is causing the issue and not something in android. But before I begin the awful task of uninstalling apps one by one to see which is the one that's causing the issue I figured I'd turn to reddit for help.
Additional info: I'm on verizon, the phone is rooted and I'm on 5.0.2
Flash with stock 5.1.1 ROM via odin.
Update: If you're reading this from the future it was cerberus, the security app. Really ****ing pissed because I uninstalled just about everything else because I didn't want to uninstall my security app until I had my phone back at my house (just tempting fate too much). Oh well, at least I've figured it out.
My note 12 keeps crashing and instantly exiting apps (going back to home screen). I often lose my work because of this. I don't know what's the cause. I tried uninstalling a lot of apps. My system keeps crashing to the home screen.
I noticed this on my tablet and found out it was an update to the Google Now app that caused crashing. I removed the Google Now widget from my home screen and that resolved the problem. Google released an update yesterday that seems to have fixed the crashing.

I'll check if you're right.
I don't have the google now widget on the homescreen.
If that doesn't help, try troubleshooting step 1: Factory reset.
Not only does mine crash constantly, but web pages constantly reload/refresh while you are reading them and it is driving me crazy!
And, yes, I've tried factory resetting.....
I've been battling this since Android 5.0
Ok Google worked well for the first year it was out. At some point Google updated the app and all hell broke loose. Right now I have a Google Pixel with stock 8.0. I wiped my custom ROM because the issue came back and I really want to solve this. I have set up very little at this time. A few apps and signed into Google. Fresh setup for less than a week now.
What used to happen or the problem? Saying ok Google there would be an audible tone. Then when it stopped making that tone, I searched all over the place for a solution. Switch access. That worked but when that app was updated it broke again. With switch access on, volume buttons do not work. Every time I start up the phone or come back to it after a few hours, the setup wizard opens. And occasionally it will just pop up TalkBack has crashed. Another side effect of Switch Access is the YouTube video ui won't fade away. You have to tap the "X" ; and sometimes there is no "X" there at all.
It's a cycle. No audio que? Turn on switch access. With Switch access on, volume buttons do not work. TalkBack crashes occasionally. Setup wizard opens.
I'm so unspeakably frustrated this has been an issue for so long. What the hell do I do!? I have ran into this issue since Google updated their app years ago, not longer after I got an HTC One M7. Since then I have had this issue on that phone, a Samsung Note 5, Moto G, Nexus and Pixel.
So, banking on the kindness of some like-minded strangers.
I'm having issues with a Pixel freezing.
OS: Whatever the latest version of 8.1 is in the UK as of 28/03/18 (can't be sure due to issue but I update ASAP)

Running a custom launcher (Action Launcher)
When I boot the device, Android runs normally for about 30 secs, and then freezes. It still appears to be running, a couple of notifications show and will display the power menu, but does not respond to touch input. I had the 'show touch' feature in developing settings enabled, and the screen is still receiving touch ok so not a hardware problem as far as screen is concerned. I have booted into safe mode, and same result. Recovery mode operates as normal, but doesn't appear to offer anything of use. Also, as it freezes, a FC notification appears, but will be for different apps. I don't know for it's linked, but only after it froze I got a notification saying storage was full, I thought I had at least 1GB but can't be sure. Also, it happened first as I was attempting to share a photo from GPhotos to a contact in Allo. The other day I tried to take a video twice, and both times the system crashed when I pressed stop at the end of the video. Both times the system worked fine when I restarted.
If anyone can shed some light, or has managed to sort same issue, or can direct to a good thread (couldn't find one that helped) I would be immensely grateful, and will send kudos and good vibes.
