Nexus 5 shutting down on its own and will not boot up - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone, I am facing a very unusual problem. My phone few days back turned off on its own in spite of having enough charge in the battery. When I pressed the power button to start the phone, it won't start!!! I plug in the charger but nothing happens. No charging symbol nothing.
I take the phone to service center. Representative over there tells me it's the charging IC problem and it needs to be replaced. I said OK and he replaced it. Phone turns on and it's charging and everything is fine.
I go home and I am using it and suddenly it reboots on its own. This happens multiple times at irregular intervals of time. After a few hours phone shuts down again and won't start. Again back to ground zero.
Anyone who can help? What do you think, is it hardware or software issue?.
Running Android 5.1 and not rooted.

Is the battery physically damaged?

Sudden death syndrome???

My s3 started randomly rebooting so I flashed a new more stable Rom.I haven't used the phone since the m7 came out so figured things needed updating. Still kept getting random reboots. Now I have a bigger issue, if the battery dies or the phone is turned off then the phone will completely act dead, no lights when plugged in to any charger, no charge animation, nothing. It will not power on. I've tried every button combination known, nothing works It just will suddenly power on one random time when you hit the power button, could be minutes, hours, even days later. At first I thought it was totally dead. Took the battery out for a day then put it back in and bam booted up like nothing had happened. Well it does this every time it's powered off completely or the battery drains. However you can do a restart a hundred times and it boots fine. I thought maybe flashing firmware would solve it but it hasn't. I'm wondering if this is sds failure? Is there a fix for the Verizon version? I am out of warranty and Samsung wants to charge an arm and a leg for repair.
Things I've done: new oem battery, different roms, Odin firmware (rt66), tested power button.
Thanks!

Rogers LG Nexus 5 Sudden Death Doesn't Turn On/ Charge

Hello guys,
Here is the problem in a nutshell. Rogers Nexus 5, unmodified. Stock ROM. Working 100% normal until yesterday. No kind of water or physical damage at all. Just died. Does not power on. Nothing shows on display. Does not charge. Totally unresponsive.
The only response I get is that when plugged into the wall charge and power button is held long, it vibrates every 7 seconds. If unplugged, no vibration whatsoever. Also when plugged into the PC, it is detected by Windows but only as portable media player which is completely empty when double clicked.
Do I simply need a new battery? I am baffled. Please help!
When you connect the phone to a wall charger, does the led blink red or us there nothing?
Absolutely nothing happens. No LED light, no Google logo on display, nothing.
It may be a dead or defective battery. Only way to really trouble shoot would be to replace the battery to see if that solves the problem.
Taking the phone apart is quite easy.
I replaced the battery but still nothing. It only vibrates when power button is pressed long.
No other response, LED or display whatsoever.
The phone was never modified or damaged in anyway. Please help!
To help diagnose the problem, having another Nexus 5 would help a great deal. If you swap your motherboard into a working phone and things work as normal after the swap, you know it is not the motherboard that is bad.

Troubleshooting my Nexus 5 which went dead for no reason

Problem:
My Nexus 5 encountered sudden death for no apparent reason, it's gone completely unresponsive.
History:
Using this phone for past 2 years
I'm a stock user, never rooted my phone or flashed any ROM.
Did factory reset and fresh install of Marshmallow through OTA last year
Most recent update to my phone was the July security update through OTA
My screen shattered in April so I replaced it with an OEM unit (since it was costing me less than half what LG service centre was charging me)
The connector below the battery was slightly loose, which resulted in only the backlight turning on and nothing else showing on the screen. To fix this, I applied a small foam tape over the connector to ensure it was tightly connected, but not too tight to damage it and the screen has been working fine ever since.
Problem in detail:
My battery was on 14% so I plugged in my stock charger. I launched the Mobdro app to watch a live stream for a good 10 minutes. Then suddenly the screen turned off and the sound stopped at the same time.
Troubleshooting:
I did the following but nothing works:
Faulty display ruled out - I pressed volume buttons all up/all down to sense vibration mode, double pressed on power button (in the hope that I will get a vibration when it launches camera) but I don't get any sound or vibration.
Long press Power button to restart phone, no response.
Power + Volume Down for 30 secs, no response.
Power + Volume Up + Volume down for 30 secs, no response.
Changed USB Cable, Charger to ensure battery was charging and left it on charging for 60 minutes, retried all above steps, still no response.
I checked my charger and cable (which were being used when phone went dead) to charge a different phone and they are working fine. I'm guessing that this can't be a voltage fluctuation problem otherwise my charger would've been damaged and would have stopped working.
Connected through USB cable to my PC, I get a "USB Connected sound" and then "USB disconnected sound". This sound loop keeps repeating until I press Power and Volume Down for 10-15 seconds, after which I get a USB disconnected sound and USB Connected sound and then it stops. Then I get a message on PC that installation of drivers failed for unidentified USB device.
Dead battery ruled out - I took my phone to a hardware store, the first thing he did was to disconnect battery and charge it externally. Then he tested the Micro-USB port, motherboard, internal charging cable and those were fine. Which means that battery was in fact being charged through the phone.
Took it to an LG service centre today where the person refused to inspect it because the display is not original. I reasoned with him to inspect and if they find that the display is the problem they can change it and I will pay, he asked me to come back later as his owner (who presumably takes these decisions) wasn't available.
I'm unable to find out the root cause of this problem and how I can fix it, and I'm scared that LG service centre will charge me huge amount even if it's a simple fix. Please help me in reviving my beloved Nexus 5 to work again. Is there something that can be done? If the phone can't be revived, is there a way I can extract all my data from the internal storage?

G Flex 2 keeps shutting down

I recently dropped my phone on the ground and the glass is now broken. But it worked normally for about 14 days. Then suddenly one day at work it shut down on its own. After that I wasn't able to start it. No reaction for any of the buttons, nor their combinations. Even when I plugged the charger in, no sign of life. I thought it's over.
Then the next day, I plugged the charger in and the screen with 0% battery appeared. So I left it charging, but when I came back to it (20 minutes) it was dead again. Not even the diode indicating it is charging. Again no response for the buttons, nothing. So I tried to disassemble it, disconnected everything. Put it together and viola! The screen indicating 0% battery was there again. I left it like that for a while, and when it was charged a little, I tried to start it. It started and normally worked. At least it seemed to, but after a while (1 - 3 minutes) while I was using it, it went to the dead phone again.
So I discovered, that when I disconnect the battery for a while and then connect it again, I am able to boot the phone. I was even able to do factory reset. I thought I got it and that it was some software fault. However after like 5 minutes (it downloaded all apps, logged to my google account, looked all ok) the screen shut down again and again the phone played dead.
Now I have the phone booted, and charging (almost 100% now). But I guess when I start using it again, it will again go to the dead mode (since it did it everytime after I used it a little, no specific action done, totally random).
I guess it has to be related to the broken glass. Maybe some water or humidity got through it and the phone is trying to save itself from damage by going to the dead mode. It's weird because sometimes (like now) the phone is OK when not used, normally chraging and not shutting down (now it's ON for about 40 minutes), but if it shuts down, it takes about 3 or 4 battery disconnect and connect again, before it boots to the main screen. Sometimes it just dies before the screen, sometimes it dies when I try to plug the charger in, really no idea what causes it.
How should I diagnose it? USB debugging and check the log when using it and when it dies? Or has anyone experienced this too? Or could the battery be damaged? Or can I somewhere set the phone to prevent from selfkilling actions? Today I will try my main board in my friends G Flex 2, to see if it's the board, or something else.

Adding the error log from console
OK so it was probably mother board fault, so I had to buy a new phone It is like 3 months, and I just yesterday accidentally poured some water on it, so i destroyed another one. It is still in warranty but I guess with water damage there is no warranty. Anyone knows where to find all the water damage indicators? Or is it even possible to make it look like there was no water damage?

Nexus 5 won't turn on or display charging icon, no bootloop

I've had my Nexus 5 since it was released in 2013. About two years ago I started getting a dreaded bootloop and determined it was the power switch failing. I had the power switch replaced and all my problems went away.
About 6 months ago I started seeing the symptoms of a failing power switch. Random reboots which would go into a bootloop which I could stop by smacking my phone or cleaning it with video cleaner.
But then I that was getting less effective so I finally had the power switch replaced again. I have tested the switch itself, and it does close the circuit when pressed. But I am still unable to turn on my phone. When its plugged in I dont see the charging battery icon either.
But if I let it sit for a while, and hold down on the power button occassionally it will turn on and I will see the google logo, but then it shuts down. I can also hold down power+vol down and somtimes turn on in recovery mode before the phone turns off.
I can only seem to keep the phone on for 1-4 seconds before it turns off.
I'm assuming that there must be some hardware damage somewhere. Perhaps its thermal related? I havent tried freezing or heating the logicboard yet, but am now considering that. I need to boot it up long enough to transfer a couple files.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what I might try?
