Just wanted to share with everyone that in my desperate attempts to find a way to modify the Stock Navbar I tried out the LG Navbar Xposed module and it works perfect! No 4 or 5 button but it has plenty of buttons to choose for the three available including long press customization for each one. Works perfect transparency stays intact as well as modifications from other modules (gravitybox navbar height). The only thing I've noticed is that the 3 dot button on the navbar will still pop up on apps requiring it. I just used softkeyz and downloaded the invisible buttons from the user gallery so its still there but I don't have to look at it.

You should have just used Gravity Box xposed module. Among every other tweak available to you in GB, there is also a section for modifying NavBar. I shrunk mine down because I don't think it needs to be that big, added always on menu button, and then turned on Immersive Mode (which is really awesome, I prefer it to pie and it's still basically stock android, both function and form wise).
I use the gravitybox module but can't stand not having a dedicated menu button. I know there is the always on option in gravity box but I am left handed and can't stand stretching over to reach it. Plus this has long press options. I find it a lot nicer having the menu button with long press for recents. Just letting people know of more options. As someone who normally uses cyanogenmod and AOKP and adds a menu button immediately I found this perfect for me.

Oh nice, didn't realize there were that many more options available, going to have to check it out and maybe use GB for everything else but NavBar. Thanks.
Maybe I'm missing something, but when i follow the link to the thread, it then takes me to the playstore, where it says its incompatible with my device.

I got it installed but it's very limited in scope unless you unlock the premium version. I'll stick with GravityBox.
I got GravityBox to work for me in remapping the useless Recent Apps to the Menu button and I just have to think that the icon for Recent Apps is the menu. The only way I found.. You have to map hardware buttons to change this. You can also add Kill App to long press on the Back button.

So how did you get it installed? Is there a version outside of the playstore one? Again, sorry if I'm missing something here. TIA

Hi Guys, I searched a lot in the Moto G forum looking for the answer to my question, but sadly I couldn't find it. What I want to know is why the Quick Settings menu in the Moto G (the tiles menu, the one with the owner picture, wi-fi, data, bluetooth toggles...) can only be accessed using two fingers? I ask that because I come from a Samsung Galaxy Mini and a Galaxy Wonder, both running CM10, and in them I can access the quick settings by both pulling the status bar with two fingers or simply pulling it from the right corner, what I think to be a faster and more natural option.
Can anyone confirm that in KitKat this annoyance has been fixed? Isn't it a standard jellybean feature? If it is, why would Motorola disable it?
Thanks in advance for anyone that can answer.
My Moto G is still on 4.3, but my Nexus 5 with KitKat needs 2 fingers aswell.

AOSP's quick settings menu doesn't support opening from the right corner in phone UI mode. It's weird. CM10 added that functionality.

That is just too bad then... will take sometime to get used to not having this feature and that button to close all recent apps. Hopefully we'll have CM on the G soon.... Thanks for answering.
It's an added feature that Cyanogen added in.

You just need to install Xposed framework and GravityBox (JB or KK depending on your MotoG rom) for this to work. It's one of the best plugin for xposed.
1st install Xposed, then GravityBox then reboot.
Go back to Xposed, select GravityBox module and then enable all the options you want (in that case your quick settings)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316070
Agreed that Gravity Box, as usual, holds the solution to most "must be a better way while remaining stock" questions and I personally use the quick settings from the right option, along with resizing, ordering and adding more settings, BUT they're still available with one finger as standard via the settings/notifications toggle in the top right corner, just needs a swipe and then a press so not a great hardship if you don't want to root.
If you're going to root a virtually vanilla Android phone like this though, Xposed is the way to go nowadays as you effectively build a custom ROM to your exact spec, not a lot of reasons to install someone elses ROM that has as much bloat as Samsung put in theirs as nearly all the good bits are available as modules for Xposed.

Any idea why the toggles don't work on the quick settings panel? It seems to just take me to the settings page. How pointless is that?

Are you using stock software?
I like using the phone with just one hand (moto g) and defined a Nova action to access that menu. This is my screen now. The little hand scrolls down the notification bar and the home button opens the quick settings.

I am on stock rom and I tried that but it doesn't seem to work. I'll have another go when I'm at home, it's my mum's phone. That's also why I don't want to mess with rooting etc if I can avoid it.
Guys,
Can somebody tell me how can I remove that little triangle showing in the bottom center of the lockscreen that is used to launch google search ??
It actually is interfering with my Home button on the Navbar as it doesnt disappear after unlocking and in turn shows up behind the Navbar Home button. I have attached the screenshot for your reference (Look at what I have encircled in red in the bottom center of the screen).
I am using Omnirom on my N5
Let's start with "what mod/app did you install on top of your ROM that gave you that little triangle"? The stock ROM doesn't seem to have that.
Ummmm... I dont think i installed any such mod which could have enabled this.. Can you suggest me something???
And the stock omni has one.. I just checked it out.. check the 2nd pic in the attachment in the link that you posted.. Can you see that triangle?

My guess would be it's a bug in the ROM. That arrow is only supposed to be visible on the lockscreen when you don't have a navigation bar. What happens when you tap on the triangle? Does it function as the home button or not? Is there anything in the Omnirom settings to configure the nav bar?
I would say either take it to the Omnirom thread and see if anyone else is having the issue or try flashing another ROM.
okies.. thanks..

I don't think it has anything to do with Omnirom as I'm having the same problem and don't have Omnirom. I'm just running Xposed and Gravity Box and this stupid little arrow has been driving me nuts for about six weeks now.
I though it might have to do with NotificationMod Xposed module so I uninstalled it but it still appears.

Are you running Xposed or GB as well?
If you are, we can try and see which modules we have in common.
Also, I just remembered I messed up flashing something last week and had to factory reset and the arrow is still appearing so it's definitely a bug in some app.

Looks like we overlap with:
ActivityForceNewTask
Android L Navigation Bar
SoftKeysFadeMod
Xposed GEL Settings
I've disabled SoftKeysFadeMod and am going to look through GEL Settings to see if there's an option to disable GN on lock screen.
I'll probably put my money that SoftKeysFade is the issue.

You have multiple mods that have to do with the navbar. Any one of those could be causing the problem. Try disabling them and reboot.
I'm completely new to this ROM (Validus) and so far I'm very impressed. SOT is great and the customisation options are plentiful.
The only issue I've noticed so far is that when I try to install an apk it doesn't allow me to press the "install" button in the right bottom corner when omniswitch is enabled.
Other than that I decided to keep this ROM as my daily driver on my OPO.

As a workaround, try disabling the Drag Handle in OmniSwitch settings. You can then use your Recents button to launch OmniSwitch.

Longtime xda user but have been out of the modding scene for many many years now, so forgive me if my question is stupid. Just got the P7P and put magisk etc on it. I don't like gesture navigation, and I am surprised that google doesn't allow nav bar button customization, which is something that has existed on various android implementations for as long as android has been around. Is there a magisk module that can do this on the latest 12/22 firmware? All google search results return with very old posts, and at this time I don't know how to recover from a bootloop if I do take a chance on flashing something.
Something that I had personally suggest is the Navigation Bar (9.0 +) module for Magisk, you can find it on Github.
Here's a link: Navigation Bar (9.0+)
There are many more methods but you can mention me anytime if this doesn't works.

Check out AOSP mod. It allows configuration for the nav buttons. It is a good replacement for Gravitybox.
After years of 3 button nav, I switched to gestures. It took a few days to get used to it. Now it is built into my flabby muscle memory.

Thought this module would allow me to customize the navigation bar. Like change the navigation bar icons to look like Samsung or Xperia or Nexus. Was i wrong ? Is there a more suitable module for this ?
