[Q] Motorola Razr HD won't update - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a Verizon Motorola Razr HD CE0168
Sys Ver 182.46.10.XT926.Verizon.en.US
Mod Nbr Droid Razr HD
Android Ver 4.4.2
Baseband Ver VANQUISH_BP_100731.020.64.21P
Kernel Ver 3.4.42-g3841824, [email protected] #1, Tue Jul 29 08:39:23 PDT 2014
Build Nbr KDA20.62-10
Build Date Thu May 1 18:42:49 PDT 2014
trying to update from OA to 182.46.15.en.US but fails repeatedly - about 100 times now
The phone crashed about 5 months ago, I found an OS on the internet and installed it, i think it successfully installed 1 update, but its been trying to install this one and not successful.
The phone now has th efollowing symptoms:
often is unable to run more than one app at a time, ie SiriusXM and Google Maps (in Navigation mode) it will usually close the one not in the foreground. Either closing the Sirius app or the navigation app
often loses data connection - SiriusXM streams and will come up and say it lost the data connection - then it will take forever to re-establish the stream or not at all, needing a restart of the SiriusXM app
screen often shrinks upwards and returns on various apps
I think this may have the wrong image and its unstable.
Can someone point me to the right (stock) image for this phone along with directions and software to install it?
I've tried to search but not sure what to look for (as evidenced by the wrong image on the phone now)
Thanks!

[Q] Sleep function not working

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening,
I recently purchased a 32 gig Transformer running stock 3.2 on a B60 serial number (so a newer model).
Kernel 2.6.36.3
Build # HTJ85b.US_epad-8.6.5.6-20110726
I am showing no updates available for download
I use an additional 16 gig micro sd card that I keep in the system pretty much all the time.
Under settings>Screen>Timeout - It is set to 1 minute
With that information here are my 2 dilema's.
Firstly my tablet does not always sleep after 1 minute. While I understand some apps have the power to override your tablets sleep state, it seems like this is happening with apps that should not have that power (minor segue can someone recommend a good app that allows me to overide granted permissions?).
For instance, Settings times out ok, but the stock camera does not. Since both are stock programs I would assume they would behave the same. I understand I could simply factory reset assuming it was simply some errors in the OS code, but am wondering if this has happened to others and what they did to fix this issue.
Also reference the HD 720 video playback issue, has anyone found a full fledged fix for this issue? I don't know if I am alone in this but I can get 30 fps on youtube but on any website that imbeds youtube videos will not play in HD without extreme video lag (about 2 frames a minute .. literally).
For instance can anyone watch this Drakkenstrike video in that websites url without having to recopy the video into youtubes website or app?
Thank you again for all your help

[Q] Fake samsung (U920+) update?

Hi,
I recently got this phone and I´m interested in update because of some bugs.
bug 1) Phone display go dark and the phone freeze when I try to call somebody until the call end (in 50% cases, sometimes it works)
bug 2) GPS jumps from place to place (some software doesn´t work at all). In google maps GPS eg. it jumps from place to place (sometimes it gets the right location but after few seconds it always jumps elsewhere) AGPS and internet connection was also on. It is worthless that way for a car navigation.
So I was wandering if it is possible to flas a new android and solve those problems.
Specs:
Brand: alps (label: Samsung on the back )
Model number: U920+
Android version: 4.0.9
Baseband version: MAUI.11AMD.W12.22.SP.V8.P2, 2012/08/22
Kernel version: 3.0.13
Build number: E1911_V77_ZGTX6_20120904
System updater says that the phone is rooted
The phone looks very similar to galaxy note, but it has only 480*800 display
Can you help me update this phone or fix those bugs?
U920+ update
Hi Johnnnnnnnnnny,
I've got two of the same phone, I'm not an expert, maybe one of mine (the other is clean, already in the box) the only bug is the flash on the screen on calls, not a great problem for me, resolved using the power button to end the calls.
The GPS is eccellent for my poor usage.
If it's possible, can I help you with an image of my phone clean? I had a backup complete with omegavesko-SimpleADBBackup but think is not sufficiente
My phones are localized in italian (NOT ROOTED, I search on the web to make this), but I think is not a problem, for you.
But I'm not able to do an image flashable of the phone, if you or somebody can help me to make this, I can try.
With an english for kids, You can see that: is not my language!!
Bye -
Kadarin70
how to fix the screen flashing when you call
go to the screen settings
at the very end is als_ps calibration
put a book on the phone and press calibrate.
when it's finished (display ok on the screen) your problem will be fixed.
good luck

I just accidentally bought a rooted HTC M8 on eBay with issues. Should I keep it?!

I am in Australia and have just recently bought an HTC M8 on eBay which was originally listed as new, and factory unlocked for $530. A few days later I found out it was actually rooted now unlocked, but was originally locked to Sprint. This was confirmed by a Sprint Connections application update etc, and the root was confirmed by the SuperSU app that was already installed in the phone. I'm recently confirmed this by the Root Checker app.
My phone's software is Android version 4.4.2, HTC Sense 6, software number 1.54.651.8, HTC SDK api LEVEL 6.17, PRI version 1.52_003, Kernel version [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT, Baseband version 1.05.20.0321_2.
The phone is pretty functional for everyday use except for the following issues:
- The internet network settings had to be manually obtained from my carrier as the phone did not automatically pick it up.
- The internet seems slower than usual (Signal strength -79 dBm 17-20 asu) compared to my old phone (Xperia Z1), despite the settings being specifically on 3G/UTMS mode which is faster than having it on Global Mode, and the required setting with my carrier Optus.
- I cannot access anything under System Updates. i.e. Update profile, Update PRL, UCICC Unlock and most importantly, HTC software update. This update takes >20minutes to search to no avail. This error message at times pops up when I try selecting Update profile: “vDM Client has stopped unexpectedly. An error report will be sent to HTC to help us improve our products”. This error screen would pop up intermittently when my internet didn't work but, I rarely see it now.
- Wifi would randomly switch on. I've turned off all system selections that may be caused on this. I haven’t tried booting my phone into safe mode to determine if an app is causing this.
I don't know much about phones (I had no idea what rooting was until I looked it up to get a rough idea), so I'm wondering if you experts could be some advice
I'm planning on keeping the phone for about 2 years and wondering what issues I may receive from having a rooted phone with the already above issues? Would the phone play up more? Can I use my current android version for that period relatively smoothly?
I am able to return my phone for a full refund but I don't have a spare phone and don't want to go in to the hassle of doing so if I can keep the phone (I would prefer to leave them negative feedback on eBay to be honest ). What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance for any asisstance.
Update your phone to android 4. 4. 4
Sent from my SM-G530H using XDA Free mobile app
Just reflash the stock rom and relock the bootloader and everything should be fine.

Sound delayed or in slow motion mode (?)

Device: SM-G9287C
Android Version: 5.1.1
Baseband Version: G9287CDXU2AOK2
Kernel Version: 3.10.61 [email protected] #1 Wed Nov 18 18:24:02 KST 2015
Build Number: LMY47X.G9287CDXU2AOK1
Not rooted
No mods installed
I went to sleep while downloading Implosion (a game) while it was charging. When I woke up the audio would sound like it was in slow motion and sometimes a bit delayed. Plugged in a headset and everything sounds normal there. Diagnostics speakers played normally, but once I exit diagnostic mode, it goes back to being in "slowmo". Recently got this phone brand new a few days ago. Haven't been dropped or gotten wet yet (new phone = maximum care). I tried wiping the cache and did a factory reset but nothing worked. Need help please. Thanks! BTW i immediately uninstalled the game and since I did a factory reset I would assume that all the files associated with that would be gone.

Android 11 Bluetooth connection Problems - Any permanent fix yet ?

Phone Motorola One Vision (unlocked but NOT rooted)
Recently got updated (in UK) to Android 11 ~ 24th August 2021
Received a Security Update (dated 1 August) on 1st September 2021
Problem: Bluetooth will not stay connected - phone 'sees' whatever I try to connect to, it might 'connect' but then disconnects - depending on device it may take a few attempts before giving up
Firstly before anyone says 'search for it' - I have.
I've seen many posts about Android 11 & it's 'broken' bluetooth & the many so-called temporary fixes - but nothing works for me
(Clear Cache/Data, Reset Networks, Delete/Upair & reconnect etc) - Only thing I've not done is a full Phone factory reset
When the phone got updated to Android 11 everything went smoothly, except I had to go through all my Apps & (re)give the necessary permission to SD card etc. This also meant my Car Infosystem (SYNC 3 on a 2018 Ford C-max) didn't recognise my phone - so I deleted it & reconnected it & afaik for the week I was on Android 11 the phone stayed connected without any problems.
My Bluetooth Earbuds (cheap pair off of Amazon) still worked without any sound drop-off & My Amazefit Bip watch also stayed connected (apart from the occasional 'hiccup' when the App I use gets an update)
I then received a 'Security Update' a week later & now I've noticed Bluetooth is NFG (No F-ing Good).
When I try to pair up, the device(s) are seen (whether the car, earbuds or another phone) - I get the usual 'Check Pin matches the same as...' messages & I confirm.... then the phone disconnects/reconnects/disconnects until it finally gives up
In the case of the Car connection I get additional messages such as 'Allow Access to messages - An Untrusted Bluetooth device Ford C-Max, wants to access your messages' & I also get 'Bluetooth has stopped' pop-ups
In the case of Pairing up Phones - it just connects & disconnects, sometime when trying to reconnect - it doesn't even try to connect
The ONLY things that seems to stay connected is my Amazefit Bip watch - & ironically this is the only thing that DOESN'T show up as a 'Previously connected device' under Bluetooth
To try & figure this out I've tried all the usual tricks mentioned on Google Searches (as mentioned above), as well as trying different AVRCP & MAP options under the Phones 'Developer options' (even the 'Enable Gabeldorsche' option that apprently is suppose to stabilise connections)
- Nothing I've tried lets me stay connected more than a few seconds.
As I mentioned earlier I googled a lot & I see that Android 11 has had Bluetooth connection problems for a long time (posts I've seen go back to Feb 2012) & it's not just on one particular phone manufacturer - all the solutions given are basically all the same thing repeated, which I've tried (apart from the full manufacturer reset)
But as mentioned - these are 'old posts' (a few months old) & my questions are.....
Is there a permanent 'fix' for Android 11 Bluetooth connection problem ?
Do I/Will I have to wait until a proper fix is sent ? (afaik all this has happened due to the last 'Security Update' I received)
Is there a way to 'roll-back' to the previous Security Update (remember my Phone isn't rooted) - just to prove it's the update that caused the problem ?
or am I totally 'up-the-creek-without-a-paddle' do to a muck up by Google/Android developers ?

Im having exactly the same problem. Looks like it's the security update. May have to wait a month to get a fix I hope.
Sorry, I have the same problem with my One Vision XT1970-3 after upgrading on android 11
Did you give Magisk Bluetooth Library Patcher a try?
Same problem on UK Moto One Vision XT1970 following update to Android 11 and subsequent security update on same dates as above..
Ford Galaxy 2018 Sync 3 keeps disconnecting and reconnecting before giving up. Same Bluetooth "check pin..." message appears.
Everything worked flawlessly under Android 10. This is definitely an Android 11 issue.
It would be great to see some positive response from Google / Android / Motorola.

Not a lot unfortunately.
I posted this problem on the Lenovo/Motorola Community Support forums (3rd October) & it seems not just you & I have had this problem (& not just on Ford Sync 3 either) - it does seem to point more towards the September Security Update though
Some posters have gone & brought new phones because of this problem, & (IMHO) a couple have even been a bit brash in their comments about how poor the support is. (What DID people do before phones could connect to cars by Bluetooth??? - I remember if someone called while I was driving, I just waited until I could pull over & phone back lol)
I admit I would've liked Motorola to release a sort of mid-month 'rollback' security update or something.. maybe even allowed people with problem to download & side install (somehow) the pre-1st August update just so that they could use their phones like they did before (I think you can with a rooted phone, but mine is unrooted).
let's hope they figure it out for the October Security Update

Thanks for the reply. Buying a new phone is a bit extreme. I've found that simply using a cable gives all the functionality needed with the added advantage of charging en route. Need to delete Bluetooth pairing for a quiet life.
I'll wait and watch for news of a workaround or solution.
Thanks again
