[Q] Chrome data saver - disable on WiFi? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I like the data saver mode on chrome - however, is there a way to make it disable it, while I'm connected to a WiFi? I only need it for my mobile data because of my low data cap.

[Q] [query - APP] data usage app (time and/or data usage)

I know about '3g watchdog' - which monitors data usage.
but I need an app which monitor time used. Here (thailand) I can buy hours of data usage time, and not by data usage data size.
any1 know an app which does this? I use juicedefender to auto turn off/on data usage, but need an app which sums upp the time for when edge/3g has been on.

[Q] APN Renaming Apps (APNdroid & similar)

I use APNdroid to disable my data connection when I don't need it, to save battery if I'm going to be out all day.
I know it works by renaming the apn, thus preventing a data connection. But then I wondered, how does Android handle this? Does it constantly keep retrying to connect, using up unnecessary battery power?
Is the "renaming apn" trick the most efficient way to quickly enable and disable the data connection? Are there other apps that do this in a different way?

How to use Android Market without spending data?

So i thought if i am on Wifi, i am not charged for any data spent on android market but surprisingly, all the download i made on android markets were charged on data plan.
Is there someway to prevent this? Should i use fake apn to not use the data?
check your settings - make sure you're actually connected to a wifi network. if its password secured, it may not connect properly but still display as connected, while using cellular data. i speak from experience.
What I would like to know is why the market requires background data enabled?

Because downloads take place in the background allowing multitasking
Sent from my HD2 using xda premium
Yes, it is definitely connected to the WiFi and all the data setting is disabled and only background data is enabled.
When i enable the background data, the wifi signal turns to green color for some reason. I am guessing that enabling background data is charging me the data. Is there any way to bypass it? Would fake apn help?

[Q] Automatic data cutoff

Android OS Data Usage

Can someone explain me why Android OS uses so much data? I have most of my apps disabled and I also turned off background data usage for most of the apps. But data usage on 4g is 20 times more than on Wi-Fi. How to fix it?
P.S location and sync are off too
