Odin and download mode - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently carried out a factory reset via recovery mode and also wiped data and cache. Now Odin does not recognize the phone in download mode. Any other mode odin recognises the phone. I am now no longer able to upgrade via odin. Please help.

I have already tried odin 3.10.6 , V3.09 and V3.07 non of them would work. I think the problem is on my phone and some settings.

Yes I have tried kies, new usb driver, and checked and unchecked usb debugging. The problem is only on download mode, the phone connects in the recovery mode and normal mode.

Sorry bro.. cant help much..last resort..factory data reset.

Have you tried a different usb cable to your computer? I tried the one supplied with the fast charger and my computer didn't recognize my phone. Switched to a different usb cable and bingo. It worked.

I have tried about 3 different cables but still no joy

Go into the device manager in control panel once the phone is plugged into the computer. Find your phone and right click on it and uninstall the drivers for it. After that remove the udb cable from the PC, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. Windows should download the driver again and hopefully fixes your issue.

What about different ports?

Thank you all for your kind assistance, I managed to fix the problem by doing another cache wipe and factory reset in the recovery mode and it is working fine.

No computer will recognize my GS3?

Hello. No computer (PC or Mac) is recognizing my Galaxy S3. I decided to buy a USB jig and try it out. I turned off my phone and plugged it in. I waited about ten seconds and nothing happened. I'm trying to restore my phone to stock firmware with Odin. Can anyone help? Thanks, guys!

I finally got it working. Here's the process I did:
1. Download Kies
2. Install Drivers
3. Uninstall Kies
4. Install Heimdall
5. Run commands to unmount the Kies kext files
6. Continue the process.

Rooted and running Arter97 v9.3 kernel and TWRP - Please help me get back to stock.

I launch ODIN (v.3.10.0) and put my stock image into PDA (and check it). I put my phone into download mode and then attach the usb cable.
I click start and it stalls at NAND write start.
I left it for a while and then just unplugged everything.
I am able to restart my phone and it is not bricked.
Someone please help.

Your phone isn't bricked, because it boots. I agree with the USB ports and drivers for troubleshooting.
Download the latest Samsung drivers, uninstall any older packages, reboot, install newest drivers and ODIN. For the USB port, on a desktop, avoid using ones connected as hubs (front panel of case) and for laptops, use a port closest to the AC adapter port. Also aim for USB 2 ports if available.
Just an update, I downloaded the newest version of ODIN, I redownloaded the Samsung USB drivers, used the usb cable that came with my phone and connected it to the USB port from the motherboard instead of the case and I was able to flash the Stock image in Odin.
Thanks for the suggestions guys!

gt-s 5360 not starting

I have a Samsung galaxy y young gt-s 5360. I have already flashed it once and I had rooted it some time ago. Now it will not turn on either does it go on recovery mode. Only when it is connected does it go on download mode but Odin doesn't recognize it. It did go on once by chance but have no idea how. Is they a way to fix it. (I tried changing port, cable ext. but odin still doesn't recognize it)

Do you have USB debugging on?
What is the device listed as in device manager when connected to PC?
Have you tried connecting to kies?

Are you sure you have the correct firmware?
If it connects then doesn't connect, it might be a faulty USB port on the device or a faulty USB cable, if either is worn out it won't connect or stay connected.

Do you have the full set of USB drivers installed? Or do you only have the drivers that auto-install when you first connected the device?
If you have the full drivers installed, have you tried in installing the drivers then restarting PC then re-installing the drivers and restarting PC then try Odin again?
Have you made sure that you don't have Kies running in the background? Kies must be fully closed and have no processes running, it interferes with Odin.
Have you tried different USB ports? 2.0 ports work better with Odin than 3.0 ports.
Have you tried different USB cables?

you need a microwave to defrost it
Anyway, if you have windows update, the drivers should install automatically. If they don't, try this https://androidmtk.com/download-samsung-usb-drivers Just choose your model and download

Weirdest Problem i had on a Phone ever.

Hello,
I'm having a problem with my Unlocked Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) When i plug the USB to transfer data from my PC, it only detects it as charging, and yes, i know i should change to MTP in the notification center, but i don't get that option, I've enabled it manually in the developers option, also enabled USB Debugging Nothing. Then I've rebooted to TWRP , still nothing. Tried connecting via ADB Doesn't detect it.(I'm sure that cable works , tried it with my Galaxy S5 mini , it works), So i went to Download Mode, Fastboot commands doesn't work , but weirdly it detects in Odin. Good, not great. I've decided to revert back to stock, flsahed the latest firmware. booted still nothing just says Cable Charging as if it is connected to a wall plug.
I don't know what do now .
Any help?

My S6 does a continues connected/disconnected loop on my laptop but on a desktop PC it runs great. Other phones also run great on the laptop so it's possible that you too have an isolated case.
A dumb suggestion, did you try clearing the cache? Try downloading Samsung Smart Switch on your PC and run the built in device driver reinstall function.

I personally think that it's a computer problem rather than a phone problem. If you flashed stock ROM only and didn't touch anything special it MUST work because we would have seen people complaining by now. I'm still holding onto the idea to check the phone with another PC. IDK, maybe you somehow blocked the phone on the laptop? (Download mode and "OS mode" are different things so that would clarify why the laptop detects the phone in ODIN mode)

I've tried hooking it up with a different working laptop , same problem. I even tried OTG Flash drive on the OS, and mounting it in TWRP no Luck.
