[LINK] Official Lollipop OTA for SM-T530NU - Galaxy Tab 4 General

Here it is.
It took me about an hour to download it so I figured I'd upload it for those of you who don't want to wait/want to play around with the files.

I haven't been able to install it yet because I have to re-flash the OA2 firmware before it will install.

Needed to request access, but thanks for bringing this to my attention. Where'd you see the NU had a LP update, I'm not seeing it on any of the usual websites?

Thanks got it you're the man! :good:

Crap I got a corrupted download on two different computers, error message: "C:\Users\MyName\Downloads\update.zip: Unexpected end of archive" and the zip only has a META-INF folder, and what I assume is supposed to be the updater-script is named, "androà+g" and contains only the following:
Code:
post-build=samsung/matissewifiue/matissewifiue:5.0.2/LRX22G/T530NUUEU1BOE5:user/release-keys
post-timestamp=1431596177
pre-build=samsung/matissewifiue/matissewifiue:4.4.2/KOT49H/T530NUUEU1AOA2:user/release-keys
pre-device=matissewifiue
Although it is nice to know the build number lol (OE5).

Thats.. odd..
The file I uploaded is the same file I used to update.
I just got done installing it after doing it the long way because I didnt want to wait another 1hr+ for it to redownload.
Here's my "long ass method"
1. I reflashed OA2
2. Flashed the rootable kernel
3. Towel rooted
4. Used a ES File Explorer to copy the update.zip from my sd card to data/fota
5. Flashed the OA2 kernel
6. Installed SuperSU, didnt let it update the binary, then used the Full Unroot option
7. Rebooted and it informed me that it had the update ready to install when I checked for updates again.
You may just have to deal with the forever long download.
EDIT: Although I just tried to open the original update.zip on my computer and it gives me errors too saying it can't open it, it's not a valid archive file, blah blah, etc. It may flash if you do my method tho. The worst that could happen is it would fail mid-update.
Oh and fyi, as expected, the TWRP root method works.

This is what I suspected/was afraid of. Thanks for the response, and listing your steps, I figured something like this was the scenario, now I know for sure. Oh well, I'll just have to wait to do the update when I actually have some free time :silly:
Also thank you very much for confirming TWRP root method works, that'll make my life a lot easier, and I'm sure a flood of users will be glad to learn that soon

It is odd that the build number is OE5 cus if I'm not mistaken, that's the highest build number of any of Samsung's tablets right now. Even the Tab S. lol. I guess it was worth the few weeks we had to wait.

All versions since rc29 have had the same thing. Rc33 for a while said no. It is basically saying you *can* get root, just need a modified rom.
at last someone finds this.
now lets wait for jf
I have a second G1, it is not rooted, my wife isn't into the rooting thing, but I want to update hers to 1.5 if I am thinking correctly, all i need to do is place the .zip file on her SDCARD and run the installer app correct.
I wonder if they have improved the Stock IM apps.
I was one of the first persons who received the log, and had been trying to figure out the link since 9:30am this morning. But I am in awe of Zinxx, how did he ever figure out the partner part of the link? Nice.. Thanks!

[Updates] JACHero / TwistedZero Co-Op OTA Updater (6/27/09 - 2:33AM EST)

After painstakingly researching into jfupdater, fixing a bad adt and sdk installation, and realizing that both the 1.1 and 1.5 sources could not coexist in one project, it is done. This program will work for JACHero 1.7 / TwistedZeroP and later builds. Due to the pre-work nature of TwistedZero, this will ensure that at least one of the system.zip archives is on the ext partition (it may not provide the most updated programs, but it will at least allow the update to be installed) You have the option to poll all updates, just JACHero, just TwistedZeroP or just TwistedZeroM. So far, only JACHero's updates will download because I am still working on getting mine on a dedicated server. I will try to keep as up to date as possible with download availability. Anyway, without any further stalling:
http://twistedumbrella.googlepages.com/heroupdater.ui.apk
Updating to the latest *working* version
You will need to have transferred the build.prop file to the /system/ folder of the phone for this to work.
They are available through my site's main page for my builds, and for now on my google code for JACHero until I get a new page coded for that.
Currently working on getting my builds program ready. Default update type is TwistedZeroP (can be changed in menu). Program is now a free download on market. Hero Update.
Very nice......

You're still gonna get wiped depending on the build.
it told me error while downloading what am I doing wrong...?
Very nice . This will truly make things easier. Nice work Twisted and Jac =).
So..I get a message when using update. The update app says "Your system is running an unsupported OS. (Version unknown) Please manually upgrade to JACHero 1.7 / TwistedZeroP or later and try again"
I understand its still a work in progress..just reporting my experience with the process.
Is "M" not a newer version than "P"?
I would assume, that even if the updater could not find an update for M, that M would still be a supported version and that it would just give me an error of not able to find an update for it or something. Not that M is unsupported.
FYI for all..I downloaded the files via the phone, installed linda file manager, android .Zip app(AndroZip) and AppsInstaller app. I Extracted the build.prop with and androzip, moved the file to /system/ on the phone with Linda, installed the HeroUpdater.ui.apk with Appinstaller. And then I get that message about an unsupported OS.
Great idea, thank you Twisted & JAC!
How do I use it? It shows me TwistedZero 1.7P as an update - can I just download it and then it will be installed?
No wipe or something like that?
an error occured while downloading 1.7P ?!

Did you reboot after copying the build.prop? Rebooting did it for me (seems like this file is read when the system comes up).
Do I replace the build.prop file I already have on my /system/ folder or do I not even need to worry about the build.prop?

Yes, the idea is that you replace it. The only difference between both files is a new reference to the build name (so the apk can tell what version you are on). Nevertheless it's always a good idea to back things up before you overwrite any files (learned the hard way throughout the years . So simply do something like 'cp /system/build.prop /sdcard/build.prop.old' from the terminal or 'adb pull /system/build.prop' from your computer before actually replacing the build.prop file.

Even if you rooted via toasts method, i would not update until a custom ROM is put out with the update included. You could lose root ability forever.
Anyone know the location of system updates are stored on the phone? I am trying to locate using the adb shell but have had no luck finding the download yet.

I'd recommend not installing it at all until the devs here have had a chance to go through it and release it themselves. You risk loosing your root if you don't. Then follow their release instructions to apply it.

The official froyo release from HTC / Sprint will definitely contain all the "Sprint Junk" and if you've given up root to one of these updates and go to apply that it will all come back. You may never get root again in order to re - clean it up once you apply froyo.
Be patient. It won't take the devs here long to cook up an update for us. Flipz had the rooted .6 update rom out in 24 hours or so...
.....
Just took a look inside the zip file. All the apk files are there, including the sprint junk...
Just installed....all is well with root...

[PROJECT]Bootloader Unlock

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARM DONE TO YOUR DEVICE THROUGH METHODS MENTIONED BELOW. THESE METHODS WILL DOWNLOAD UPDATES THAT WILL WANT TO INSTALL. DO NOT INSTALL THEM THEY MAY BRICK YOUR DEVICE. STICK TO THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE.

Also note it may be weeks, perhaps months before Atrix 2 updates begin rolling in. It's a very new device!
Now, the fastest way we are going to get this Bootloader unlocked is with a little ol' fashioned teamwork. These methods have worked for other devices but require some participation and patience.
Previous devices having used the method:
Bionic
ATRIX 4G
Here are the methods we will be using:
1.Motorola, ATT SBF files for Motorola Atrix 2
2.Project Cheesecake - finding update versions on Motorola servers
1. SBF files
If you or someone you know is able to provide SBF Files intended for the Atrix 2, you can post them here or email them to me at [email protected] if anonymity is an issue.
2. The tried and tested Project Cheesecake!
Automatic Method:
What you will need
1.an ADB setup.
2.Obviously, Root.
3.ClockworkMod Recovery set up on the phone.
4.You should have an FXZ Ready in case you mess up.
5.Root Explorer from market
Now an app does it all for you. Imagine that.
1. Okay, so, download THIS APP RIGHT HERE.
2. Install the app on your phone.
3. Open the app. Click the first button.
4. Reboot.
5. Open app, click second button. Select a server. QA And Staging servers seem most common for updates, but we need to check them all. The default is in Production -> master-blur.whatever.com if you need to get back to it.
6. now click third button in app to check for update. click setup (the moto account thing is bs). Now if it gives you a wifi error, that means the server is down that you chose. If the server is up it will check for an update.
7. If that didn't work, select a new server with button 2, and then check again with button 3.
8. Any comments in this post about the ghettoness of my app will result in replies including but not limited to A) Slander, B) flaming, and C) death. Try to keep the thread pretty on topic to cheesecake method and other info. I know my app can be refined, jcase has been giving me some tips on streamlining my programming and su permission reduction, but it does good stuff, don't worry. It even remounts system as RO when it uses it.
9. godspeed, guys.
What do I do if my phone finds an update?
if you are uncomfortable dealing with it for sake of bricks / other bad stuff, let someone else know or post it in the thread. It will be attended to properly.
DO NOT INSTALL IT. IF YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT
Depending on what the update contains, it could brick your device. Get in touch with a developer ASAP if you don't know what to do. Post in this thread which server you found it on. load up adb. The file you found should exist somewhere in /cache. pull it to your computer. Then delete it. Be warned that the update after downloaded tries to install every 2 minutes and while typing a text i accidentally clicked install once. I almost messed myself up.
log onto chat.andirc.net and go to #bionic. You might find me in there.
Log onto irc.freenode.net and join #droidbionic and #bionic-dev. The bionic-dev channel is ONLY for dev-related talk. If you just want to kick it, converse in #droidbionic.

9.Pull the update.zip file from /cache [Root Explorer or ADB] and upload/post the file for developer interest
10.Continue to test the next server. Navigate to /system/etc/motorola/com.motorola.blur.service.blur
11.Mount the folder as read/write
12.Edit defaults.xml. Remove "master-lab.blurdev.com" and put in the URL for the next server.
13.Repeat the steps from "Wipe data and cache" every time.

We might try this. It automates the process. All the credit goes to phydo for this though. I am looking at it now to see if we can try it on our Atrix 2

I saw that as well... Let me know if its working on the ATRIX 2 and I'll edit the topic accordingly. Thanks again for your continued interest, I really appreciate it.

Phydo's app works beautifully. I installed and ran it on severall of the servers, if it asks to setup and account just click setup... then if it asks to setup a wifi connection then that server is down, which I am getting on most of them right now as would be expected.
Jim
Works flawlessly on my end too.. updated the first post with instructions.

Just pulled Blur_Version.55.11.16.MB865.ATT.en.US.zip with cheesecake.
Judging only by the number in the filename, this is the stock version of blur... probably.
Can't post links so...
Awesome man! I'll check it out!
It's only 50 megs so I don't think it's the full filesytem.
This might be the update from the mythical 2.3.4 version listed on the moto dev site.
edit: I see some recent timestamps... system\etc\motorola\ap_flex_version.txt

Webtop has been updated, looks like firefox 7.0.1 is installed now, can't test it myself.
Getting prompts from motorola to "upgrade".
Lost root in the update. Going to try to get it back...
Edit: Root works!
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
... FAILED (remote: unsupported command)
what files were in the update? was there an fxz or an sbf? were there any files with I think mbl in the name? Those would be the bootloader, if so we need to take a look at them. I will put it down and check it out.
I am not quite ready to install that yet, since I am on the right track to have a FULL ubuntu desktop running in webtop, right now I have broken tomoyo, so no facls, or security on the webtop files, and I have a terminal and sudo, as well as synaptic, so I will hold off on 2.3.6 for now, since there is a webtop update in there.
I will start a new thread for the webtop stuff once I have more. Now I need to get with tallnerd1985 to get webtop2sd working on our phones.
Jim
Thank You for warning everyone else even while you are still having trouble. You can take it back to At&t/Bestbuy or wherever you bought it - They won't know and 99% don't care especially about the Atrix 1 or 2...
Just act PISSED! If anyone asks you a question...
Looks like motorola really is trying to push an update to me, 15 MB file update to 55.13.16. I'm not going to touch it for now. Gotta get some sleep
Don't see any SBFs or FXZs...
This is my first rooted android phone, so i'm just flying blind here.
Now that I can post links, here's the one linked to through tinyurl above.
Ok, so in the 55.13.15.MB865.ATT.en.US file, there are 2 boot loaders, one is called prologue_loader.ldr and the other one, which I am guessing is the one we already have is called production_loader.ldr
This will require some more looking to see if the prologue_loader.ldr is unlockable, so that they can load thier updated image, then relock it with the production_loader.ldr
This might be good news and it might be nothing, but I will keep everyone posted, with what I find.
Jim
Keep up the good work guys
Try to find the stock build as well, because if that is found i could probably unbrick my phone!

Ok use the link above and try to get it on the root of your SD card, I am not sure if that zip file work or not, for CWM or fastboot, if you can connect to ADB with fastboot, you should be able to flash it from that.
Jim
Ok .. this is driving me nuts here. Trying to apply the Blur_Version.55.13.15.MB865.ATT.en.US.zip update to my Atrix 2 .. since there is NO WORKING ClockWorkMod that can be used .. tried doing it other way that jimbridgman suggested and that was fastboot.
Well .. that doesn't work either .. receive error message:
>fastboot -w update Blur_Version.55.13.15.MB865.ATT.en.US.zip
archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt
Anyone else have any ideas of how to apply this update ?

Good question, though you'll need to start from the first file...
Blur_Version.55.11.16.MB865.ATT.en.US.zip
I think the filenames are for the versions that the patch gets applied to, not the version it'd be updated to.
This is all new to me, I'm guessing you could boot up with VolumeUp+VolumeDown held down, choose the recovery mode, and do volup+voldown for the recovery menu and choose update, and the zip from that menu...
Edit: This works. Updated from 55.13.15 to 55.13.16
Baseband got pushed back a few days

Lost root again, but thankfully the zergling rush is a highly effective strategy still
-=Insert warning about updating being AT YOUR OWN RISK and not being responsible for bricks etc... =-
Additional warning that this might cut the phone off from official OTA updates from Motorola...
@moofree:
You are correct, I was successful in getting the 2 updates on, and yes, root was lost. However, I was unable to get the root back !!
Tried manually, tried the 1-click.. Neither would give root. So, since I just received the phone the day before from BestBuy, I did the next logical thing.. Bricked it and returned the phone defective.. LOL
So, now I have a replacement, new Atrix 2.. I'm leaving it exactly where it is until either the OTA's come through the right channels, or something more permanent and correctly working has been done for unlocking the bootloader and rooting.
If not.. 30 days from 11/01/11.. Options are still open with the HTC Vivid and SGS2 Skyrocket.

I Want to reiterate to everyone who is trying to help unlock the boot loader by using the cheesecake method here that you don't want to apply any of these updates directly. Motorola always relocks the bootloader with 99% of these updates. It will be one of the development versions that we are looking for, you just want to download the zip file and upload them with a link attached in here to grab the file you get. Then we can have a look at the files contained in them.
We are looking for the magical developmental unlocked bootloader that we can make our own update zip file, with just the bootloader that is unlockable, in it.
Again don't apply the updates that you get from this process. You may brick your phone or worse, permanantly be unable to root or unlock the boot loader.
This is a cat and mouse type of a thing wiith thses big phone makers.

Can someone please save the 10.5.8.IN55CB OTA from T-mobile before updating?

Since T-mobile hasn't posted it, I'm surprised no one has saved off the update for others to download. If anyone gets the notification that the update is available PLEASE save it (plug it into your PC and select file transfer) off the device and provide a link to help the rest of us out.
Much appreciated.

Hey there!
I haven't downloaded it yet but I did receive the notification. How would I able to save the downloaded OTA on my phone? I never thought to do this, to tell you the truth.
Thanks.

I forgot to add this: Where in the internal storage would/should I look? I need to back up my phone anyways, therefore, this is a perfect opportunity.
Thanks.
After it downloads you should be able to say "wait to install later." It should be around 360MB I hear. If you have an app that shows file sizes it should locate this as a large file on your device. Like Free Cleaner and File Manager, from the PlayStore, if you go under Memory, go under large files, it should show you the location. Then go there and zip it up and save to another directory like Download. And then upload to Mega.nz or another file sharing site. Thank you for helping!!!
i needed the TMobile modem if one of you guys could share that it would help
i am uploading it right now. I am in desperate need of a persist.img from tmobile device. some how I managed to delete my only copy and my backup to the cloud I guess never was completed. if you could do this for me I would be ever so grateful. ill have the update in about 10 min

Quick update: My phone keeps rebooting after downloading the update and lands back into the tmobile splash screen and into the home screen.
What am I doing wrong? Reason being this is that I'm trying to preserve this OTA myself as well.

This is exactly what I need as well, just the modem.bin or NON-HLOS.bin whatever is on the modem partition. I suppose there is a way to pull from adb as well. However, not knowing what is in the OTA makes it quite difficult to see if there are mulitple modem partitions.
Go to system / build number / click it 7 times (it should say you are now a developer), the enable USB debugging. Trust the computer you plug it into (it will ask you on the screen of the phone), then type:
adb pull /dev/block/by-name/modem NON-HLOS.bin
Something like the above should work and save to your fastboot directory, where ever you ran the ADB command from. Then you can zip that file up and upload and we get all the new modem bands.
my problem is i use TMobile and changed to eu and global my 4g is 120mbs 5g 44mbits it was 198 i needed it to test if it changes you fastboot flash modem_a or(b) i could use someone who has TMobile modem backed up in twrp i can give everyone img then
i think i found issue with 5g nr is turned off i used settings database editor to change from 0 to 1
Would this help with 5g speeds? Also I have already updated, but I plan to keep my TMobile 8 stock so I'll try to get whatever files you guys need. Currently at work though.
see where i flashed modem
i have 10.59 what file do you need i dumped it

Do you have to be rooted for it to actually save? I followed that app's instruction and gave permission via ADB but it doesn't seem to save for me.

I figured that would probably be the way. Just wasn't sure does too the fact the app Setedit made it seem like it would save if you just gave it permissive over adb. No rush on you doing that though. Not sure if I'll be investing into all of that yet. I don't mind stock enough to modify yet.
Ok so where's the OTA download link?

T-Mobile variants don't give you the wait option it restarts immediately. Also you can't get to where it saves the update anyway without root. There's another way of doing it and we are waiting for it to be pulled
