LG G2 with various issues - XDA Assist

Hi,
So I got my new LG G2 a few days ago. I want to install CM12l, so I rooted with avicohh's root script and installed twrp manager. TWRP manager should have installed twrp, but whenever I try to boot into recovery, it says "demigod crash handler error". I tried installing CWM on top via rom manager, same issue. i gave up with CM and tried to install Xposed, which cannot install the framework due to being unable to do process 58 and 54, i'll try to provide a log cat. Saurik's winterboard for theming also had issues. i then tried downgrading to stock kitkat from lollpop, but the kdz method couldn't find my device (adb is working, it connects my phone as a drive each time) and the tot method says ready but never does anything. the guide i used is here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476. i was downgrading then to use autorec, a tool to install twrp automatically, but it says it only runs on kitkat.
autorec:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496
if anyone could help me either to get to CM12, TWRP, Kitkat, or xposed, that would be great. thanks so much in advance.

[Q] Rooted but no Root access

Hi every one,
I currently am using an LG G2 from tmobile (801 model). My device says its rooted but it doesnt have root access because I forgot to flash supersu binaries before i flashed the 4.4.2 version of the software. But now my custom recovery doesnt exist anymore.
I've tried using LG flash tools to flash back to 4.2. stock settings to start over but I am unable to do so for some reason. LG Flash tools isnt able to recognize my G2 in download mode. My computer is able to recognize my G2 when it is turned on though.
So is there anyway to flash a custom recovery without root access?
Or is there anyway to flash supersu binaries without a custom recovery using ADB?
I've tried trouble shooting with multiple threads and multiple downgrade methods but none of them are giving me any luck. I really want to flash a custom rom on my LG g2 and have the benefits of root access.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All you need to do is install the towelroot.apk to give instant temporary root. Then install SuperSU from the dev thread here on xda or from the play store. After installing SuperSU go to its settings and select install as a system app and reboot when finished. It might take 2 attempts before it successful (it always takes me 2 tries). Then uninstall towelroot as it's no longer required since you've gained permanent root. Now install the autorec.apk and you'll install TWRP recovery. Now that you have root and recovery and have control of your device you can customise to taste. In my case I always install busybox and a terminal emulator so I can further fine tune my system.
I hope this helps

still got issues :/

However even when i go into supersu, it keeps saying my binaries are not up to date. So i cant install anything and I cant do anything to install a custom recovery without root access.

So you have installed Towelroot, achieved root then having issues installing the SuperSU.apk this is indeed an issue. Towelroot should allow for it to be installed. When you install Towelroot do you get the warnings from the installer and Lookout that the package contains an exploit? Do you interrupt or stop it from fully installing when you see the warnings? The only thing I can think of is you are doing something wrong when installing towelroot which is prohibiting it from doing its job in gaining root.

[Q] Help. not sure what I am doing wrong.

So I have the wife's new d850, which we will be suing over straight talk.
- not able to get the OTA updates
- at KK and she wants to be on LP
So far, I've done:
- rooted with towelroot
- loaded TWRP from the playstore
- loaded Superuser from the playstore
- loaded Busybox from the playstore
- loaded Flashify from the playstore
I have tried to flash these 2 roms will no luck.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/development/rom-lg-d850-20f-lollipop-5-0-1-extras-t3052041
So using Flashify or TWRP I have been unable to see the ROMs to flash and I have been getting the unable to mount external sd card.
I've gone through the forum several times trying to figure out what I am doing incorrectly and I haven't been able to figure it out.
All I wanted to do was debloat the phone and get it on LP.
thanks for any assistance.
Are you on 10d? Are you sure that root was successful? Does SU install properly? If so then are you able to grant Flashify SU permission? If so then you want TWRP from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-2-8-3-0-t2981108, by 777Jon. Follow his instructions for flashing TWRP through Flashify.
If root was not successful try Stumproot also here on XDA.
Are you on 10d? Yes
Are you sure that root was successful? It says I am rooted, so I assume yes.
Does SU install properly? Yes

That TWRP did it. The flash worked and its on LP. The only thing is that the debloat didn't seem to work and I still have the carrier apps, which is easy to correct.
Thanks for the help. It's much appreciated.
Glad to help. Titanium backup will get rid of most of those carrier apps. Some you can simply freeze... Good luck.

TWRP for 5.0 D800 G2s

This post is to get TWRP running properly on a G2 that has updated to 5.0
There is an apk called autorec.apk that is supposed to install TWRP, and it does, but when you reboot, it gives you a security error and shuts the phone down. Basically soft bricks it. This method is what i used to install twrp and allow flashing of custom ROMs.
First, downgrading to 4.4.2 is not only fairly easy, it is also necessary to get TWRP working properly.
Download and install the LG flashing tool here
then do the same with the LG driver found here
Then youre going to need 2 files for the flashing tool
1: LG Flashing dll
2: the 4.4.2 image that the flashing tool installs here
instructions for using the flashing tool are found here
Make sure to follow all of the instructions including changing the port # for the device to 41
After flashing back to 4.4.2, using towleroot to root takes mere seconds to complete
after that, download TWRP and place the file somewhere easily located on your phone.
Install Flashify, and use it to flash the TWRP 2.8.6.0 D800 image file for your custom recovery.
VERY IMPORTANT!! Reboot your phone to recovery and once in recovery, be sure to reboot recovery from within TWRP before rebooting system.
After that is done, you are ready to flash custom ROMs.
This is the procedure I used and it worked like a charm. There might be other methods that work, but this one positively worked for me on the D800 i dealt with.
I know this set of instructions isnt as pretty as other tutorials, but it works. Let me know if you have any issues with the links or process.
The way I have done it on my 5.0 d800 G2, first root with One Click root from Windows, then install SuperSU from play store, autorec, then install TWRP. No problems whatsoever.
Im glad that your method worked for you! The G2 i was working on belonged to a friend of mine and it kept bootlooping using your method. So, i guess for those who encounter the same issue that I did, they can use the method listed above

Magisk v9 with 6045

Hi to all
I am trying to install magisk v9 in stock ROM without any success. Always after the installation phone boot to bootloader.
The Bootloader is unlock and when I un-install the magisk v9 the phone working properly.
Any idea how we could install magisk v9
Try factory reset or another version. I had installed Magisk v7, and few days ago updated to v9.
Great finding!!!
In Stock 6045 it is possible to install magisk-v7 or Magisk-v8.
In stock 6045 (5.0.2-010 02) it isn't possible to install Magisk-v9 via Manager or temp TWRP.
In case of temp TWRP device is stack to bootloader. It is possible to uninstall Magisk to work properly or install Magisk-v8
Any idea how to overcome the issue

root your device, install permamently TWRP and no problem then
Stuck on Android splash image during boot, after downloading and installing Magisk Manager and Apk 12.0. I was rooted through KingRoot, SuperSu installed busybox as well. I uninstalled SuperSu (through in app options) getting ready for MagiskSU.
Heres the deal. Even though I have twrp working, I cant use it cuz of a broke screen. Im thinking a factory reset via hardware buttons is my best option. But how?
6045O running the Panasonic Eluga Switch. Rooted, twrp satana 3.0.0.1 installed

Error root Moto G5S Plus

I did root through this topic: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g5s-plus/development/root-moto-g5s-plus-t3673287
Everything worked fine, I unlocked the bootloader, I installed TWRP informed on the topic, but instead of Magisk, I used SuperSU, downloaded the latest version on the site and flashed via TWRP ... When Android starts, the SuperSU icon is there, the application works for a few minutes, when I open again, this appears: https://ibb.co/iosWeR
What can it be? I've already tried: reinstalling root, doing the whole process again, installing another version of SU.
