Cocktail AutoOn For Galaxy S6 Edge
Hey guys, just finished my latest mod -- Cocktail AutoOn! What this does is turns on the CocktailBar (the screen that is shown when you do the back and forth touch motion on the edge while the screen is off) when you receive a notification, of whatever app you select. It first shows the "Clock Feed" for a few seconds, then it moves to the Notification Feed, which will tell you about the received notification.
NEW! **On Google Play Store***-- Auto Patching (For Any Deodexed Build)
Finally released the app on the Google Play Store for those interested This'll provide instant-ish updates, along with the ability to donate VIA Google Play who couldn't through PayPal!
But more importantly, this build contains Auto Patching for any deodexed build. I got tired of having to patch the system files myself, so this utilizes LuckyPatcher in a safe/restricted manner to do it for me It should work on 5.0.2 and 5.1.1 builds alike. If you are on a deodexed build you can test this out by downloading and starting up the app on a build not already supported. You'll see the "Not Supported" screen-- just click "Patch (Beta)". It will guide you through the steps, as needed. If your services.jar file is odexed, please read the Please Read!
PLEASE READ!
First please flash this with FlashFire, if you don't know how to do that please follow the steps here to get it set up: XDA Thread Link.
You MUST open the app that will be installed, Cocktail AutoOn, allow Root Access, then Click the 'Click Me' button and enable the app in the screen that follows. You should also go into Settings, and enable some apps you'd like the CocktailBar to turn on for!
Samsung's Messaging app won't show notifications for messages sent from yourself, so don't test this that way. Also by default it turns on the screen for new messages, which interrupts and defeats what this does. You can change this behavior I believe by following the thread here: XDA Thread Link
Make sure Settings -> Edge screen -> Information Stream -> Manage Feed -> Briefing Feed Settings (Settings Icon at the Bottom of it) has whatever application you want checked!
--Please also check if this is correct: Settings->sounds and notifications->notifications on lock screen->*show content*. Also make sure that every app you want to see is enabled and set to display there within 'app notifications'.
Odexed ROMs
In order to test this mod out on an odexed ROM, you must deodex at least the services.jar file found within /system/framework! If you are inexperienced at doing this, you can follow the guide found here: XDA Thread Link; I'd suggest in this case to only deodex the services.jar file, making your own fully deodexed rom can be tricky! Remember to delete the old odex files found in /system/framework/arm(+arm64)/services.jar when you're done!
Willing to Test?
If your phone isn't in the supported devices list, and are willing to participate in this beta, please send me your services.jar file found in system/framework. If you aren't deodexed, please also include /system/framework/arm (AND arm64)/services.odex. You can either pull it yourself, or get it from a ROM you trust. I would prefer the latter, so I wouldn't have to deodex it myself (as long as it's a deodexed ROM)! Please attempt Auto Patching within my Google Play version of the app ("Cocktail AutoOn"). You'll see the option as soon as it opens on the "Not Supported" screen-- just click "Patch (Beta)".

Features
Turns on the CocktailBar from a notification for whatever app you set!
Shows the time, initially, then automatically moves to the Notification Feed, for easy reading of the incoming notification!

Bugs
Not a bug, but this will wipe the dalvik-cache, so the following boot will be a little longer while it 'upgrades'. No data will be lost.
Make sure you have the Notification Feed enabled, which it should be by default...

Working fine with gmail as the test, I'm perfectly happy paying to unlock, but would greatly prefer to do it through Google Play, any plans on releasing it through official channels?
Oh btw can somebody recommend a lock screen that works with fingerprint, the Samsung one is ugly with notifications activated (which is needed for this to work)?

Thanks for making a point and letting me argument it.
What's the point to have an incredible Lock/Homescreen Wallpaper? I do not wakeup my phone to stare at it. Lock and Home screen are way points to do things with my device. Think that Gallery is the correct app to appreciate beautiful pictures, not lock and home screens.
For me (and a few more) efficiency is the point. Quick and clear access to my activities.

What's the point to have an incredible Lock/Homescreen Wallpaper? I do not wakeup my phone to stare at it. Lock and Home screen are way points to do things with my device. Think that Gallery is the correct app to appreciate beautiful pictures, not lock and home screens.

I am not discrediting the idea (it is a good idea for some that like the minimalistic look), I'm just saying I don't see the point in buying a flagship phone if you aren't Going to make the most out of it. There would of been several cheaper options out there if all you care about is good battery.

For sure that during work days the productivity apps are the only use. Phone, clock, email, appointments, gps, sensors, and the amazing camera, data-showing and remote conections are my only usage during this period. Low usage I agree, but it's my life not devices one
But, there is leisure time too !!!
- Gaming, yes !!!
- Broncos @ Chiefs last Sunday played an amazing game through the crystal clear screen. Only Alex Smith lagged ... not my device.
- No other device did as better as this during my stargazing nights. Its power makes a real performance difference when calculating and drawing all the night sky.
So .. do you get my point now ? It's a wonderful device and I really need and use it (my blue S3 is lying off right there).
All this talk made me think about and I would suggest an alternate point of view of this mod...
One can view it as just an initial canvas where his further customizations will soon pile up to the desired goal. I do this way ... beside the backgrounds released here I will be changing icons and lots of other stuffs that will fit my needs.
Now, about battery, it's awful when @ customer and there is no more juice. I do have spare battery but, with this I can do better.
In conclusion: AllBacksBlack is productive, lightweight, enhance user imagination (as a canvas) and ecologic !!!

Seems, from here, that 4.3 is coming with transparent status ... please correct me if I'm wrong.
The problem with modding the statusbar is that it is not an image but a color code inside the compiled SystemUI.apk. This creates a version problem. The one created for XXUEMKE should not be used in a XXUEMK8 system. FC's and even bootloops may occur.
This is not the case with AllBacksBlack that will fit accordingly on any. :laugh:
There are some guides on how to do it (xda way) and if any doubts remains, please, be welcome to ask.
Notice: can't give you now a deadline but I intend to release some complimentary stuff for ABB that will appear on 2sd post soon, including black status bar. For these mods, I will carefully state the applicable firmwares.

For hardkey menus and dialogs I've opted to use #191919 instead of #000000. It created a shaded canvas slightly contrasting with the pure-black background. If not, the overall aspect of the screen and the information got kind weird ...
The status bar will be but, as you can read some posts before, it's trick and has to be handled carefully to your safety and my sanity. :angel:
Buttons I agree with you and will be looking at them. But, as menus and dialogs, they will look VERY weird if simple black. Will let you know.
Now, the "ANY GOD FORSAKEN THING BLACK!" ... you tell me. Just point then out and I will do my best.
But just remember that with AllBackBlack I will just lay a background foundation where you will continue to enhance. That's its scope. To be flashable by everybody regardless 4.3 subversions. In time, I will release some complimentary stuff that will deal with status bar and others.

Something weird is happening. I can't see your attached image as I still can't the one sent by @saywhatt ... tried 3 browsers logged and not. I get only 404 ... weird. So I'm unable to see what you've sent.
Reading Crash's ROM thread, it seems ok ... it's a stock deodexed 4.3 ROM. Should work flawless. I've developed it using GoldenEye and Wannan is said OK.
Do you have Xposed or any other framework installed? Never tried 3rd party frameworks and I think, if one is installed, things may not work as intended.

Install as any other app. If you get "application not installed" error then uninstall old version of Apollo, reboot (not nessesary) and install again.
This is caused by different apk signature key, nothing to worry about.
If you have preinstalled Apollo (like in cyanogenmod) and you can't uninstall it using built-in app manager, then you have to do it in a different way.
1. Use any file Explorer with root access (eg. Root Explorer, es file manager etc.)
2. Go to /system/app/
3. Find Apollo.apk or anything like it and delete it.
4. Copy this apk to the same directory (/system/app/)
5. Set the rw-r--r-- permissions

I do not say that this player is 100% mine, because it's all Andrew Niels's player. I'm just the guy that "keeps it running smooth and nice, with new features" tbh. I havent removed Andrew's name or A. J. Lopez's name from the credits and this will not happen. Ever. It's not going to google play either. Andrew's will - can't do anything about it although I would really love to do that.

This version is not going to make it to Google play, but it's still going to be updated regularly until Andrew Neal (the only true author of this application) releases it on Google play.

08.09.2017 - Sad news
I always thought that I could continue Andrew Neal's application, develop it further, make it perfect and flawless. I had put loads of time and effort into it. Recently I did what I thought is impossible for me - get it to work on devices newer than LP, yet I did that. I was planning to release it on Google Play when I think it's good enough, so that everybody could enjoy it and have hassle free updates, but unfortunately he wouldn't let me do it.
Thus I am forced to discontinue development of Apollo and let it die at last. It was a nice journey, but unfortunately it has come to an end.
If an author agrees to continue his project, I will continue development.

You need a file explorer with root capabilities!!! I recommend Root Browser
1) Uninstall the preinstalled Apollo with a system app uninstaller application
2) Copy and paste the new Apollo.apk in the system/app folder
3) Set permissions of the apk to rw-r-r-
4) Reboot
5) Profit

I saw the logcat. I says fc's on getActionBar. You need to use actionbarsherlock or actionbarcompat and change that to getSupportActionBar, getMenuInflater- getSupportMenuInflater. Changing to jb branch wont help.

So, what's all this about?:
After more than 3 weeks of hard work we're finally ready to present you the brand new v17 version. Now with an amazing Aroma installer that, based on your device model, installs the right fixes to make it fully working with your particular Note 3. You can also, if you're using the international Note 3, select from many of the leading kernels out there and much much more. We've also managed to get it even a little bit ram friendlier and have removed many UI errors and annoyances.
But no, we aren't finished yet my friends. We have also included a fully integrated OTA update system that will notify you in case there are some updates (to be found in Settings). Also in Settings there is now - assuming you've installed Xposed Framework- an Xposed button integrated into settings. And right now you're about to ask: "Well, what about Appops?". Well that's there too!
We've tested it for a long time now but if you manage to find some bugs don't even bother to post them here before you have:
A.Used the provided logcat app to gather the log.
B. Searched if someone else already has mentioned it.
ALSO:Please state if you have performed a full-wipe aswell every time you report a problem. And for ota flashing issues use TWRP.

Important notes:
IMPORTANT:
Although this should be obvious, you need to be on a 4.4.x firmware first. So update to a new samsung note 3 firmware based on 4.4.x before flashing our ROM. Don't even try to experiment with this. You'll just waste your/our time.
Regarding ROM reflashing:
If you want flash any other kernels or apps since your first install. Just flash the main v17.0 again without performing a full-wipe. You will have to reflash the latest OTA update aswell.
Regarding gps problems when returning to normal rom:

Regarding the THEMED Google Keyboard:
Fixed in 17.1.2.
About Xposed Framework:
Please DO NOT recover Xposed from a backup OR install it in any other way! It's already included in Aroma. IF you install it you will end up with two apks! This is because the provided Xposed apk is modded to not show it's icon. The icon as stated above, is now integrated in Settings.
Regarding the time sync delay:
This isn't our fault. To fix it, go to Settings>Lockscreen and set Dual-clock to OFF. That will "fix" it. For any further complaints about this. Go to Samsung.com
Regarding "wifi is not working" issues:
Update your bootloader to NF4 via ODIN. Google it if you don't know how to perform this task. (Of course I'm talking about the one for note 3, NOT the S5)
Regarding the themes app forceclosing:
If you HAVE NOT selected any themes at all in aroma. It will forceclose. In the new aroma I will make sure that "themes" doesn't even get installed if don't select any.
Regarding random reboots:
This isn't really our fault either. It's a kernel issue. Flash the stock kernel. Most people like @kevin_1351 don't have this issue at all with any kernel whatsoever. But some may have them. Now you know.
Regarding lockscreen related problems like pinlock issues:
We've encountered more than 3 users with this problem. In all cases the solution was to use a pit file to completely repartition the Note 3 (internal SD will also be wiped). Don't be mad if it doesn't work, but we have more and more evidence that it works.
One important thing though is that securelock time only comes up when you have a pin selected and not just set it on swipe. @kevin_1351 fist believed this was a bug due to other v6 ports having it enabled on swipe aswell. After further research though it became clear that it's actually behaving as is should. Also, it is normal in android for the screen to not lock directly after it shuts off. It's made in order to lessen the frustration when you're reading for instance. If you want instant locking you'll have to use a pin and set the proper settings. It's actually not our business to specify this but we taught it might come in handy to know.
OTA updates:
Yes, this ROM provides you with OTA updates, you'll find it in Settings. We initially had problems with this because we were using DropBox. Now @cdmvirt has provided dedicated servers to fix it once and for all. He has payed for this out of his own pocket's (for the most part) so please show him some appreciation.
Also, you don't need to keep the old OTA updates. Just keep the latest one in case you want to reflash some options.
For all issues regarding flashing OTA updates, be sure that you're using the TWRP recovery (v2.7.2.1 or newer). We will not provide support for the other recoveries (although in the most cases you can manually flash it by navigating to OTA folder).

For issues regarding the OTA download: please delete the OTA folder first and try again.
BETA channel:
With 17.1.2 you will be asked to select if you want to take part of the BETA program. If you choose that you will get faster OTA updates with the downside of them being unfinished, without aroma and may contain some bugs. This is only for the more advanced user. With other words you will have to know how to handle adb, root explorers, being actually mentally able to READ; that sort of stuff. Nothing major but still more than the average joe knows about.
Taking part of the beta program also comes with responsabilites. You'll have to report whether or not the new features and fixes work and be quite specific about the outcomes. The beta versions will contain a "b" at the end of the version number. If you choose to take part, don't complain about stuff not working but instead try to be productive.

Sadly XDA doesn't provide us with any chat system, which we really would love to see in the future btw. Therefore @cdmvirt has integrated a chat system in order for you to get live support from either us or other users. Follow the download link to get there.

N9005 Specific downloads:
I've added the NF4 bootloader for wifi in this post.
I've also added a PIT file if you want to COMPLETELY format your phone. Use this with odin aswell. Be careful though, and read up on what it does. This is only to be used with a stock Note 3 .tar.md5 firmware. If you have pinlock issues with our ROM for example: this is needed.
The pit file is going to create a >50kb partition. With other words, is gonna make room for all types of csc. As I said though, read up on this.
Please keep one more thing in mind: The PIT will erase the internal SDCARD as well.
About the next OTA update:
Probably, v17.1.2 -or whatever version number it will have- will be my personally last update(I'll be around and help my team but I won't be this active anymore). Until now tyre and I have been the ones working the most on v17, while cdmvirt has been the one who together with stash made v16, the very foundation of v17. Lately his dedication has partially shifted to his webportal instead, and to the dedicated servers we use for the OTA and for his portal. Now when spending that much time on the rom, it hurts to see how cdm is still struggling with serverside issues and has to pay out of his own pockets in order to maintain it. Especially considering the enormous user base we've gathered in only a week. It seriously disappoints me to see people being ungrateful and complaining about something, but on the other hand don't offer the help in order maintain their desired quality.
This isn't the only thing though, I've received over at least 50 pm complaining about stuff that we don't have anything to do with. User errors or even worse, the fact that people can't even spend 10 min of their time on reading the main post through. This considering the 7 weeks we've spent on this. I've been really active in the iOS scene once and I can tell you, THIS was a totally different story. Night and day. I've heard that XDA has changed, that it has once been the place I'm speaking about. Idk. This is not meant to be offensive in any way. There are a lot of grateful and helpful people too. But they are as rare as truffle. And another factor is that I simply don't have this much time to spend on it either.
I won't leave as I said. And I will really try to help my team further, if they feel like they want to continue. But I won't put this much effort into it anymore. Because it's not being answered back.
I hope you'll understand my frustration. I'm surprised that the ones directly involved like cdm himself just take it, and thinks it's ok. For me at least this is NOT ok.
Due to time constraints and the fact that we want to obtain a bugfree experience, there still are some things I need to figure out in order to flash this OTA in the correct way. Therefore it will be slightly delayed. Maybe 24-48h.

Well it's the stock note 3 one. Of course some unofficial kernels will give you better battery life since they're downvolting/clocking. Still I wouldn't worry to much about it.
Phronesis stands for "know-how"
Backgound - I was going to ditch Note 3 for Note 5 but I was disappointed with the Note 5 not having some needed features and for the fact that it wasn't coming to Europe, at least for now. This led me to want to stick with our dear Note 3 but with a view of improving the experience of Note s6 Port on the device.
With hours of efforts to make the best s6 Port with the view of mitigating lags reported on few other ports after few days. I and my team present one of the best experince you will ever have on Note 3 S6 Ports.

In my experience been using it for more than 2 week's now since the 1beta version. No lags and no fc at all(already fixed) till now.

If you came from kitkat. I suggest you do a full wipe including both internal memory and the external sd card. There might be some apps data intended for kitkat that are still in your sd that may conflict with apps in lollipop. Dont forget to backup yoor important file before erasing.And after installing wait a few hours for the rom to settle and wait a few day for the battery usage to settle. Just a suggestion mate.

Thanks for the reply... I actually wiped both internal and external, did a full wipe and was experiencing lag on darklord rom after using xposed with it like many others as well. I have been using it for 3 days now but am looking forward to try phronesis now

Swipe down to refresh is already in the "features to be added" list. Next release will have this done. Also photo uploading will be available in next release. There will not be much options in the Lite version (this) but there will be some nice customizations options in the pro version. BTW, I removed the apk from download section by mistake. Coming back online soon. Don't know why xda says: Missing or incorrect project info....

LoL. There's nothing in the app . Avast make me laugh. Avast has been blamed some time ago for spying users using adware... try with other antivirus app. I just scanned my whole system and AVG Pro says nothing found... The app uses simple WebView to display 3 tabs only. Nothing else. I'm available if any moderator wants to get my project and check the code. And BTW this project is going on github soon...
EDIT: I just installed Avast antivirus and it says my Wi-Fi (home router) can be dangerous just because it wanted to scan the Wi-Fi connection. Maybe that's what it wanted to say... You should click on that notification and let it scan...
EDIT 2: I attached a screenshot. Please check it. These are the results from Avast scan. It says that there are two issue in my Settings. 1- Debug USB is active 2- App installation from unknown sources is enabled. LoL try to scan...

I'm really excited about this app. I want to thank you all who gave it a try . The number of users has increased significantly beginning from the first day, 27/05/2016 at 4:51 PM Europe time. Today it's 30/05/2016 13:31 Europe time and we are counting 210 users. That's awesome. 210 users in three days on my first app is really satisfying . A big thank you to all of you guys. Well, combining Lite and Pro and introducing in-app purchase to unlock features sounds something really hard to me (by hard I mean these requires a lot of work) which means I'm not sure if I will make that available.
I think it's better for me to keep both versions separate. And it's better for those who already bought the PRO. If I remove the PRO version and create just one with in-app purchases than it will be a hard process to move these users to the new version with all features unlocked and the process will be hard. Frankly, I don't even know how I will deal with that process... So now, betraying my own words, I think you should go ahead and buy the PRO version now.
The PRO version will receive significant updates and will be improved better. And yeah next major release (probably before next weekend) will have the tabs rearrangement but I'm not really sure to make it work before next weekend.
Hopefully on this Sunday I will release a minor update of the PRO version with G+, Tumblr, Dark Theme.
It's up to you to decide when you will buy it...
