[Q] No audio through headphones after 5.1.1 update OTA. - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
I run a stock nexus 5, I installed the 5.1.1 update over the air and now I can't get audio through the headphone jack. If I plug headphones in the sound continues to play through the phone speaker.
I suspect this is a software issue because:
*the headphones work with other devices
*the headphone jack is free of lint
*yes the headphones were pushed all the way in
*the headphone jack worked before the update
*if I install the app 'sound about' I can force audio through the headphones.
I'm trying to avoid doing a factory reset as certain games etc don't back up properly to the cloud but I will if I have to.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks

Anyone?

[Q] Audio output problem with the new firmware

Hi all,
I updated to the new .13 firmware yesterday. Everything seems fine except one little problem. The audio output sometimes just don't obey the headphone jack status. There was one time audio was playing through both the speakers and the headphone. Also, after a long sleep, there is no audio output.
Sometimes the music app plays music on it own, or stop music on it own. Really annoying bug.
Does anyone experience similar hick up?
Thanks
I just updated my dock firmware and also don't have any audio coming out if the speakers. I've yet to try a reboot because I'm about to pass out lol...but hopefully Asus knows and will put a fix out soon

having the same problem with my system after the update, keyboard/keypad/wifii work well, but low audio or no audio at times.

My M8 not switching back to speakers after call-speakers or headphones

This happens with ViperROM and LoliGPE so I do not think it's a ROM-specific issue.
My phone suddenly started to have this problem where after I have a phone call (call speaker) or use earphones, it does not switch back to those two dual speakers.
If it was a phone call, everything I play (videos, games) will now start outputting sound from the headset speaker.
If I used the AUX cable to other sound output devices (earphones, for example), the sound won't play until I plug it back.
What's interesting is that the device seem to still know that sound output has changed because "boomsound" is disabled and says something like "cannot disable boomsound as you're using internal speakers" on the sound settings.
I have no sound mod installed, and am currently using LoliGPE 5.1, S-OFF, rooted and unlocked.

3.5 Audio Jack for Mic Boost

Hi,
I have the following question, most (maybe all) smartphones have a 3.5mm audio jack which also allows headphones with a mic (included with some phones) since it has TRRS.
What i want is a way to connect a normal mic which is TRS (i has have a TRS->TRRS adapter) to that 3.5 audio jack in order to increase the mic volume in my phone, one main reason is when my phone is connected via bluetooth to some speakers like in the car, it will automatically decrease the mic volume.
Any suggestions?
Anyone?
This is really annoying as bluetooth lowers mic volume to almost noting...
I have discovered that mixer_paths.xml file might help in boosting the mic on bluetooth and that it also might a cyanogenmod bug...
Is anyone familiar with the values in this file and what they mean?

Permanently disabling headphone jack using build.prop?

Hello!
I can't use my phone's earpiece speaker during calls because the phone insists that a headphone is connected to the headphone jack, despite the fact that the 3.5mm jack is already removed from the device (had a repairman remove it for me).
Apps that should do the trick work only halfway (it reroutes media audio but not in call audio. I have to put it on speaker mode everytime I do a call.)
So, the question is, can I disable wired headset detection on my device using build.prop or any method that tweaks the OS itself? My phone's rooted, btw.
Thanks in advance!
@BsofBordeaux Did you find answer for your question?
Did you get it fix ?
