[Q] Changing from Note 4... - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone! I'm thinking of getting rid of my Note 4 and getting an Xperia Z3. Don't get me wrong, the Note 4 is a great device, but for the money, the amount of lag and terrible low-light and indoor pictures and pretty bad battery life is just too much for me.
The most important things for me are:
Battery life
Performance (multitasking)
Camera
All the blogs said the Note 4 was the device for me, but over the last 3 roms I haven't been able to fix ANY of these issues.
How's the Z3? Are you guys generally speaking happy with it? Has anyone played with the Note 4 and could maybe shine some light on their opinion and experiences? Thanks!

Battery life is awesome. I have 6+ hours of display on time on one charge. Without any battery savings ie (stamina, ultra stamina, low battery mode) which you can turn on.
Lag, well I never had lag on this phone, 3gb of ram does really good job.
About camera. Well this is more personal opinion. Some will tell you it's bed, someone will tell you it's good.
Truth is that people perception pictures difrently and also have different preference so it should be best to go to center, take Z3 and check your self.
For me, camera is good. I always use superior auto mode which does really good job. Panorama photo should be better.

That's all good to know! I remember I had the z2 which gave me generally very top performance. But I had hardware issues with 5 of them. So I just gave up on it.
The note 4 has 3gb of ram which is great. But the note has some serious issues with memory management. For example, sometimes while actively multitasking by switching through apps, all of a sudden it will clear out all of my apps! All of them! When 3 seconds before they were all open and just fine!
There is a huge lag when opening a picture I had just taken. Or even trying to press the share button. It's a very well documented case which Samsung hasn't fixed. [emoji35] and battery drain with little to no usage. No rogue apps either. Strange cases for such a premium device.
My partner has the Z Ultra. If it weren't for the camera I would have picked up one for myself. He's very content with it, even after a year. I've had the note 4 for a few months and I'm going crazy! Haha.
Thanks for your input. ?

Z3 dosent have this problems, all apps are handled in RAM. even after few hours i pick multi task and go to some app and its still open.
All animation and task go really fluently. I have no words for this.
And z3 is better because its not heavily customized like note4 is.

I just suggest do not change Not to another phone... it will be almost disappointing for u :|
because you will lose lots of features
you cannot understand multi-tasking in another phones :|
if u use s-pen even once a day you will miss it

The spen doesn't worry me too much. It is useful though. But I'd rather have a fluid UI. I guess for the moment I'm going to have to sit tight and see how the note 4 develops. If it doesn't I'll just get the next best thing.
Thank a bunch for your help. ?

Take in my mind that Sony Lollipop Firmware have serious problems with Ram Managment, killing a lot of apps in background very agressively, so you have to stay in kitkat to avoid this problem.
Also, if it is for the camera, the Z3 doesn´t have a good camera, all said, in my opinion it is one of the worst cameras that I ever tried in a Smartphone, the pics are so blurry, without details and overcompressed.
Apart of that, the Xperia Z3 is a very good phone in battery, desing and UI.

Thanks... I guess the grass is always greener, right?

I have had both a Note 3 and a Note 4 in the last 18 months. Both are fantastic devices in theory, however I found in practice they both had shortcomings. The Note 3 was a Friday afternoon job which I ended up fixing myself on 4 separate occasions (2 x usb ports, 1 x antenna, 1 x sd card slot issue) before selling it and getting my copper z3 on an upgrade. The Note 4 was a trial purchase I kept for all of two weeks - thinking with the ram, 32gb storage and huge processor performance would be future proof for a good couple of years at least. After the metal band became scratched to hell after being kept in a case for two weeks (dust scratches? Really?!?!) and I got really frustrated with the lags in the ui with Lollipop and the relatively poor battery performance (compared with the z3 at least....) I sold it asap and went back to the z3. Long story short it is a much smoother, more complete android experiance - at least on kitkat, I've downgraded from Lollipop for the same reasons - easily as quick in everyday life and much easier to root and customise if that's your bag. Oh and it isn't an insurance job if it slips out of you hand into the toilet/sink/sea!
Just my 2p's worth if it helps

[Q] Is the Nexus 5 worth buying?

Slightly different point of view here: I don't need a phone. I need an Android device.
What I currently have is a Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 and a Nexus 7 (2013). What I use them both for is games (80% of the usage), music, internet, pictures, and pretty much everything that is not calling people.
I've been looking at videos of the Nexus 5 but all worthwhile ones are of the 4.4 release version, which I already know was quite terrible, so I wanted to ask - after so many updates, are the camera autofocus, battery and other major flaws fixed? What current weak points does it have (anything you think sucks)?
My budget is not that high so Nexus 6 and 9 are out of the question.
IMHO the Nexus 5 is the best possible Android experience for the money. Its butter smooth. On optipop the battery isn't amazing but its definitely reasonable. (I get 5 hours of SoT)
I've never had any issues with the camera to be honest. All things aside, no device is perfect and while the n5 has flaws, it is truly a work of art.

I've never had the chance to check out a Nexus phone, but on the N7 2013, the camera's autofocus is (my own opinion) pretty terrible even compared to phones from 2010 when it comes to video...how is there any constant focusing (or lack of focusing) issues on the N5? Or frame-lag when recording in 1080p?
A year later the N5 is still one of the best phones on the market. It is still blazing fast, smooth as silk, and gaming on it is awesome. I go through Android phones like they are disposable, usually selling them to offset the cost of the new one. Every so often a phone comes around that I just can't bear to part with even though I've since upgraded. The N5 is one of those phones. I'm currently using a 2014 Moto X and an iPhone 6 as my primary devices, but there's just something about the N5 that is preventing me from selling it and I will likely keep it forever. And like JayR_L said, it's easily the best Android experience for the money.
TL;DR- Yes, it is absolutely worth buying.
You should try the Nexus5 and see what you have been missing!
The battery will drain fast when playing games also the phone heats up, don't know if anyone else is experiencing this

That's hardly the case. Sure, there are phones with better battery life, but the N5 is certainly not the worst.
That said, any phone will drain faster and get pretty warm when playing games. You said that like it's a downside to the N5 but it's a fact of life for every smartphone on the planet.

Well for me, it is one of the worst battery life compared to other phones that I have used.
My nexus 5 heats up quickly when playing games, not all phones heat up this fast, my moto g doesn't heat up at all.
I would like to say the same, the nexus 5 is the best experiencie u can get from a android, Excep for the battery and about the heat playing games u guys should see the xperia z2, I'm sure that the battery will last a less twice but that if u aren't afraid of your phone became a fire ball.. I like @_MetalHead_ still having my nexus 5 even when I got the xperia z2, its just hard to sell a phone which have been so amazing and for that long.

You cant compare the Moto G to the N5. It has a much weaker processor than the N5 and as a result it won't get nearly as hot. More power generally means more heat. I've used all the major FLAGSHIPS this year and all of them heat up. The OnePlus One gets so hot you can almost boil an egg on it. Even my 2014 Moto X gets pretty warm with extended gaming sessions.
And again, everyone knows that battery life is not one of the N5's strong suits. Compromises had to be made to offer such a powerful phone at such an affordable price point. Just like compromises had to be made with the Moto G in order to sell it so cheap. If you want raw power, and just ok battery life, go with the N5. If you want a budget phone with great battery life and don't care about processing power, RAM, or screen resolution then save a little money and get the Moto G. Both are great devices for their targeted markets.
I switch from S4 and my wife switch from Note 2, both didn't look back at all.
If you compare to other phone release at that time frame N5 is just perfect, the battery does a little bit weak if compare to current generation (2300ma vs 3000ma+), but you also got OIS, which is really useful and I will say that is a must have.
Talk about heat, N5 got the snapdragon 800, you can expect it generate the same amount of heat with other phone using it, if you found other phone running cool and not as hot as N5 (such as G2, or even G3 but new cpu) that just because they clock down the CPU speed and limit it, LG G2 was known for this, and the G3 my mother using will lock the max cpu speed even when just charging using wireless charge and do nothing.
Just make sure you get the 32GB version, as the system reserve a pretty larger amount of storage.
OP, make your own decision, don't ask random people over the internet, because what you want is different to what we want.
i just bought nexus 5 and thinkimg to get nexus 6....then i watch speed comp on youtube. nexus 5 won with 6-1 check it out.

That's just because data encryption is enabled by default on the N6... The latest Nexus flagship is overall better than its "predecessor" (a word that doesn't fit perfectly the N5), hardware-wise. The only weaker point is, in my opinion, its screen, with its insane resolution but disappointing brightness and color accuracy (even compared to other AMOLED screens).
BTW, our N5 is a great phone indeed. I have been using one as my daily driver for more than one year now, and still I wouldn't like to replace it with any other phone.
Display is great, all apps and the o.s. run fast and smoothly, camera is very good, partly because of the OIS, partly because the software optimizations improved its performance and speed a lot. The only flaw of this phone is its battery, which isn't terrible but just "average". What I really miss is the possibility to replace it when it gets old.
I'm thinking of replacing my N5. Is One plus one, any good? I like the slow motion camera on it.
Thinking of geting the HTC M8 (if S-Off can be achieved) or the Note 4.

[Q] Should I upgrade to the S6?

I have a note 4 with T-Mobile right now. I don't mind the lack of a SD slot or removable battery. I also am tired of no lollipop on my note 4. I do want to avoid bloated touch wiz lag and battery issues. Thoughts?
lol, sounds like you need a change of manafacturer.
I have an S6 pre-order but after doing more research I think I'll cancel it, the lack of removable batt and expandable storage not to mention the possible need for two screen protectors front and back(OCD)no IP rating, no USB3.0(S4), its a downgrade from S5.
Camera is same as GN4, same ram, slightly upgraded CPU, smaller screen and all glass this thing is going to be very cold to the touch like Sony device, compared to GN4. Nevertheless I'll try to hold reservations until it is in my hand.

I don't mind a change in manufacturer, but I want to keep the same concepts within my next device: fingerprint scanner, high end processor, good build quality, lot of RAM. I also want timely updates too. iPhone 6+ has too little ram and a high price tag. Waiting on HTC's One Max M9 or LG G4 or Xperia Z4.

You sound like you need a nexus 6! Z4 is questionable because if SONY does shutdown smart phone branch it may never see any future updates. HTC max may be out around the time of Note 5 announcement so you might as well wait a little longer and get that. G4 I think is the phone that might compete closest to S6 IMO, and might beat it in terms of keeping sd, and large removal battery, unless they pull a Samsung!

It's too expensive lol. I am looking to spend no more than $100+ Note 4 money.
I would wait to see how the TW 5.0.x Lollipop behaves on the Note 4 and it should be out soon. I have the same dilemma about upgrading from a much older device (S4) and though I really want a new gadget I just can't justify the move frankly (except for the camera quality).

Install 'Nova Launcher' answer set as your default. It doesn't completely disable TouchWiz functionality but it has proven to be a speed increase and overall better Home Launcher. It's free on the PlayStore.
I've been using it since it was first released and will never use another app for my Android. Enjoy.

I will give it a try, but for now, I am waiting for reviews and to demo the S6.
This describes me exactly. Tired of laggy touchwiz. How could a beast of a phone loke the note 4 seem less than buttery smooth?
Temporarily using a z3 and it's smooooth, but camera is mediocre at best. Gosh darn it, I just want a smooth phone with a great camera. Hope that's s6
I'm not sure how you consider the note 4 a laggy phone. Go check the note 4 vs any other phone and you ll see that it's actually faster than the iPhone 6 And many others.
Once lollipop comes out for your note.. Put your xperia and note side by side and see which is faster.

Man I love the Nexus 6. If only it were 5.5", bigger battery, and better camera, it would be the perfect phone.
I have a nex 6 and I want an s6 after reading this forum and all the previews and reviews. My only issue is I had a note 4 and now the nex 6 and the s6 screen is almost a whole 1 inch smaller. Not a deal breaker but wish it was at least 5.5
90% chance I will buy it anyway

[Q] Coming from the htc m7

I currently have a m7 and I'm looking for my next new phone. I want to know anyone's cons against the s6 that they're using now. Especially anyone who came from m7/m8 etc. I want to know about camera, battery, performance, any lag with touchwiz, etc. I'm finding it a hard decision between nexus 6, S6, (and i would say m9...but the camera looks pretty awful). I need as much feedback as possible. I just want to know any cons before buying this phone that a rep (Verizon) isn't going to tell me.
I came from a launch day m7 myself, and I've had the s6 for about 2 weeks now. I think it was a solid upgrade, and I have no regrets. My only problems with it are the little annoyances, like the volume warning, and the things that I used to use xposed for, since there's no exposed for the s6 yet (and probably won't be for a while, if at all).
But the screen and camera are amazing. The battery and memory issues haven't bothered me because I haven't noticed them - all I know is that they're better than the m7.
One thing though - for the first time ever I'm using a third party launcher (Nova Prime). I don't really have any issues with touchwiz, and I've actually grown to like it a lot once I threw the flat candy theme on top of it, but the touchwiz launcher is a mess.

Actually, check out this thread and do a search for s6 - I think people have gotten it to work. I haven't tested it - I've been pretty happy with touchwiz (surprisingly).
Same with the camera - haven't found any reason to try another, stock works great and the photos are awesome.

So I played with this phone yesterday at Verizon.... I'm sold. What is battery life compared to m7? I know the battery is slightly larger, but this is samsung and it also has QHD display and super amoled vs m7's htc and lcd 1080p display.
The battery life is my main gripe about the S6.. I bought and returned my LG G4 for the S6 and the Samsung is built much better yet the G4 got full day battery life. I charge my S6 about twice a day.
Also, the camera is definitely subpar on the S6 in comparison to the LG G4, especially in low lighting. The iPhone performs much better in low light compared to the S6 also. Day time pics are better than iPhone but nowhere near the G4 quality.
Once someone releases a higher capacity battery for the S6, I'd gladly tear mine apart to replace it.
Keep in mind I work for AT&T and I use my phone a LOT throughout the day.. Roughly 20gb /month data usage on my line alone and I don't tether.

What about video? And since you use your phone so much, what is your battery life?

My iPhone 6 records 60fps 1080p much smoother than the GS6. But I don't record much video anyways.
Off the charger at 7am and I get the battery 15% warning around noon. Quick charge to 45% during lunch then get the warning again around 5pm.

I own a GS6 after returning my G4. My iPhone 6 is my secondary device and its sitting next to me. I'm giving a legitimate comparison with no bias. You saying the GS6 is better than iPhone in "every way" is ignorance at its best. I'm not a fan boy of either. There are strengths and weaknesses to both. The GS6 camera doesn't come anywhere near the quality of the G4 photos when you put them side by side and view them on the same calibrated monitor. The GS6 struggles with iso levels in low light. The iPhone is better at iso adjustment in low light. That is absolute in my real world usage.
Day light photos on the GS6 are leaps and bounds over the iPhone, however.

i don't know if you are a fan of either but i own the S6 and its photos are great...i don't own the G4...but ....in all comparisons the S6 was better or on par with the G4 in daylight....in low light the G4 is better.......so saying it's nowhere as the G4 is not right at all...

Buy a G4 and compare them in real world photos yourself and you'll see what I'm talking about. Photo clarity and color accuracy is noticeably better with the G4.

every one has an opinion.....it seems all the reviewers has the same opinion and you have another....it's an opinion.....and i can't afford as many phones as you i guess....if you had a G4 now an S6 and iphone 6....
My mother has a 6+ and the pictures are still better on my S6, lowlights and video recording. 60fps is smooth on both so I don't know what the guy above is talking about.

LG G4 or GS6 (Microphone, Camera and Battery)

Well i know there's a lots of reviews about this already and since these devices came out very early already. since i watched a lot of reviews in youtube and comparisons between those two devices. As i see microphone is pretty bad compared to the S6. OIS On some videos , G4 sports better than the S6 but for the most part the S6 does a better job than the G4. i'm really confused which one to buy actually because this is going to be my phone for at least 2-3 years or so. And battery life matters a lot also to me. They say S6 lasts longer than the G4 even though it has bigger battery. and i know
main questions that need to be answered.
- Can i tweak the microphone quality through apps?
- Is OIS Really better on the S6?
- Is battery better on the G4?
- How much SOT do you get in daily usage ? / In photography?
- Is manual mode better on the G4?
I'm also asking these because i am mostly going to use it as photography and videography. hope you guys help me out which one to buy.
Thanks

no fanboying please as i like both companies.
I want to know this too

Easy Voice Recorder is a great app for audio recording. But tweaking the microphone individually I don't know!
Manual mode better on G4, but camera quality better on S6 for both pics and videos!
Both have s#itty battery life. S6 maybe 15-30mins more sot. 5hrs sot is common for most s6 users here.
I prefer S6 camera because zooming doesn't reveal noises, but that's my preference. Go for Z5. Heard it's top notch camera.
But I bought the S6 back in May since I knew it'd stay untouched in 2015!
waiting for replies too

If you are planning on keeping the phone for 2-3 years you might also want to consider (you probably have, just mentioning it just in case) the expandable storage and replaceable battery. Expandable storage for a normal user might not be necessary but if you plan to take a lot of photos/videos for a few years it might be something important to think about.
As to answer your questions:
Manual mode as of this moment is indeed better on the G4. Marshmallow will bring the note 5 controls to the S6 in January approx, so you might want to check out the note 5 manual controls and compare them to the G4 because if you do prefer it, it will be available for the S6 soon.
SOT: My SOT is the average a normal user gets, you will find users getting 6+ hours, even 7 or 8, some with 2... but that is quite unlikely. For an average user you should be expecting somewhere around 4-5 hours unless you have bad signal. If you use the phone intensely or for more than a day you should be expecting around 3-4 hours, some people get more tho, but that's just not my case.
I can't really compare to the G4 so not much more I can say
I would look into the v10 over the g4 and s6, if the v10 is to big go for the s6, I just feel like the v10 is overall a better phone than both.
- Can i tweak the microphone quality through apps?
The LG V10 can do this while recording, you can select which mic you want to use and adjust levels.
- Is OIS Really better on the S6?
S6 had better OIS than the G4 but I dont think it is better than the V10
- Is battery better on the G4?
Both are horrible, you are very lucky if you get 5+ hours on the s6 with 3hrs being the norm and 4+hrs your getting lucky. I avg around 3.5hrs on thats with it connected to wifi 90% if the time
- How much SOT do you get in daily usage ? / In photography?

It is way better on the G4/v10

Wise choice! The S6 64GB is an excellent flagship and its price these days is very affordable! Put a dark/black theme like Weyo, put apps to always optimize in battery settings and get Package disabler pro for bloatware in unrooted s6 if u wish and u should be getting acceptable battery life!
And Ultra Power Saving is always here just in case!

Help deciding on what to upgrade (from z5)

Hi there.
Currently owning the z5. I intend to upgrade to a sd820, I know, minor upgrade but I am tired with this phone getting hot. (it gets hot whenever updating apps from play store, syncing my photos to the cloud and even chrome browsing, I won't even mention any camera related activity).
So I am choosing between Sony..again, the xperia x performance and the one plus 3.
I care most about battery performance and as I said the device not getting too hot (which, in turn can negatively affect the previous battery life). Then I'd like to have a useable camera (photos mostly). By the way, z5's photo capabilities are good enough for me, however I hated how the camera overheats and stops sometimes. Finally, audio performance is also important.
From what I can gather, oneplus 3 battery life is only marginally better. I also heard that xperia xp occasionally gets hot? Camera performance seems to not be a deciding factor, however I was only looking at some picture samples I found, I rather prefer the Sony's but it might be just me being used to z5's color/saturation?
Could anyone that had exposure to both these devices help me with deciding between the 2 on these aspects:
Battery life
Photo quality
Audio
Overall performance (as in everyday use)
Thanks

Sorry I can't be of use when choosing between the two phones but I would just wait until Sony bring out their next generation of handsets and you can decide if it's good enough or not.
I'm not impressed with Z5's to be honest (I have a Z5 Compact) but loved the design. It's a bit thick (hard to hold) and a bit heavy though.
I wouldn't buy Sony again after my Z5 experience. They've fixed most things now, but given the price I would expect a lot more. One+ looks great
I would suggest you a HTC 10. Bought one for my Mother a few weeks ago. Its really great!
im with EDGN htc 10 upto 50% faster from Z5 and better sound
dont know about picture and battery
and im also not gonna buy SONY anymore... sony X is about same as Z5+-,,, and Sony XP maybe faster but same audio, same lens.. (without the 4K filming, only if rooting)
also lots of bugs not the same service and quality
To be honest, I paid $800CAD for my Z5 when it came out last year and it's finally a phone I can enjoy (took Sony almost 12 months to come up with a decent firmware though, and everything before .224 has been nothing but trouble for me: poor battery life, bluetooth disconnecting, phone freezing, laggy/choppy UI)... the Z5 now has a pretty good stock firmware and is a reliable device, but at this point, I don't feel it was worth all that money. The OnePlus 2 I almost purchased last year instead of the Z5 finally wasn't an inferior phone by any means, but it was a lot cheaper.
The only phone I would maybe be be willing to pay $800+ for at the moment is the Note 7 (because well, like Samsung or hate it, the Note 7 is the ULTIMATE Android phone), but realistically my next phone will most likely be a ~400-500$ phone I'll get next year (OnePlus 4? I liked my OnePlus One a lot, so there's a chance). Flagship specs for the asking price of a mid-range phone is appealing.
Considering flagship Sony phones are well built but are also very expensive (some may say overpriced), my next phone won't be a Xperia. I'm not impressed at all by the new Xperia X series (same old hardware, build quality isn't worthy of Sony and the Z series, same old camera sensor/optics, etc.). From now on, a phone will have to be VERY special to justify a $800+ price tag as far as I'm concerned.
If I were you:
#1: Keep your Z5, it's still a good phone, wait for the OnePlus 4 or next year flagships, at least they will be a worthy upgrade (the 820 isn't THAT faster than the 810. I doubt you can even notice the difference in day to day usage)
or
#2: If you can deal with the Samsung firmware (it's not that bad anymore), absolutely want a new phone and have some cash to spend: Sell your Z5 while it's still worth something, and go get a Note 7 (now that's a significative upgrade from the Z5. The SoC isn't that faster, but more memory, better/bigger display, better battery life, better camera, USB-C + wireless charging, etc.)
I don't see the point of replacing the Z5 for anything else beside the Note 7 at the moment. The current flagship phones (Galaxy S7, HTC10, G5, name them all) aren't enough of an upgrade imo versus the Z5 you're using at the moment
My 2 cents, and sorry for my less than pefect English (Not my primary, and not even my secondary language )
What about one plus 3? I believe it's worth the upgrade since you won't spent much after selling your z5. Full Manual camera settings, 4gb ram, crazy fast charging and the flawless oxygen os.
I'm actually thinking about it but since our z5 is the last z and my emerald green is a jewel I'm having drawbacks. Battery life is the problem on my z5 I never get more than 4 hours SOT.

Just a follow-up on this..
So I gave up the z5 and bought the note 7 that I am using for 1 week.
In case anyone wanna know about the transition to samsung (my last samsung was the s2 awhile ago).
The reason I gave up the z5 was, I have mentioned before, the overheating issue, especially while operating the camera but there were some other instances.
In spite of this I kinda liked the z5 camera. Also, the battery life, when not overheating, I would get up to 6 hours sot in a full day. I also liked -- still do - some other
features of the z5, such as many elements of its hardware/software design, so normally I would've prefferred to move to a newer xperia iteration.
Anyways, I am on this samsung note 7. The device has been praised quite a bit so although initially I wouldn't consider it (reasons: samsung, touchwiz, edge screen) in the end I pre-ordered it.
So, how this note7 experience compares to z5:
battery: pretty much same battery experience, after having disabled some bloat (but only really a few so far, I think there's still room for improving further); I was hoping for more then 6 hours sot in a day considering the battery size but also, just like in the case of z5, I am using pretty much all the features, bt low power constantly on for my fitness/notification tracker, lte/wifi depending on location, all location scanning on, brightness half-way etc. I think the z5 standby time was better though.
overheating: no overheating so far, it's still warm outside (sometimes up to 30 deg Celsius). Yay!
performance: pretty much on par with z5, can't say the note is much faster as it should be perhaps.
screen: I am using the basic mode, brightness even at halfway is much more brighter than z5. Overall, the screen is fine and it's nice to see the actual deep blacks on it.
camera: I was afraid of this aspect. I am actually impressed by the camera performance, to resume, it seems to be just another generation really. The most impressive thing is how fast is it, even in low-light conditions. The only negative or positive if you will, the lens is less wide.
sound: another important factor, for me at least. Fortunately, samsung delivers here too. The wired or even bt sound compares well to the z5, to my non-audophile ears it sounds
much much better than sony's. The system equalizer actually works and makes a world of difference.
Other things note 7 I like: always on display, blue light filter, fingerprint works now all the time, the led cover view
What I miss from z5: xperia keyboard, fm player, double tap to wake, glove mode
Oh, and I received right away the August 1st security update (when I started it on August 22). Hopefully they keep up the momentum on this apsect.
