I ordered mine from Oneplus.net in March. Tracker said it was shipped from Germany. No issues with the device.

You order it from USA ?

Why was your device shipped from germany, and as I ordered it in Germany it was shipped from Great Britain? Anyway at the Op: Order it on the Website, me and 3 other people ordered one about 3 month ago and we have no issues.

You are right. The first entry in the GLS is INBOUND TO LOCATION (GERMANY). So it was from the UK. Sorry for this

I order it from the website and have issue

The best place to buy the phone is definitely from the official OnePlus Site. That is where I got my phone (United States, shipped from California to Washington) and I have not had any issues at all. Most of the One's from the other sites are probably more likely to have those issues than the phones bought on the official site.

I don`t know is that bad luck so I can try again or what

Any body else have suggestion

I don't know why you think purchasing the phone elsewhere will get you a different result. You're still going to get the same device, from the same manufacturer, with the same chance of faults occurring.

It`s just question because it`s really gamble with this company

Yeah, but my point is that no matter where you purchase the phone you're taking the same gamble. Perhaps if you scoured eBay for listings that specifically say they don't have these issues, but then you're buying second-hand and missing out on a warranty. Other than that there's really no point in buying anywhere other than from OnePlus directly.

A bit off topic, but display was an issue with my HTC M7 as well (3 manufacturers of display). Furthermore with my Sony Z3C it was the issue with speakers (2 manufacturers). Just saying that Oneplus is not alone in this "gambling".

Excellent point. There's no such thing as the perfect, bug-free phone (in terms of entire batches). I got lucky, both of the Ones that I bought are fine, neither has any of the issues that I've seen reported.

High resale price - why?

I just observed used Nexus 5 being sold for about $35 less than new within countries which have plenty of stock. Is this the "one born every minute" or something else?
example of used $350
and example of new $385
With OnePlus out in a few weeks for $349 plus unknown on tax and postage, and a few other low-priced unlocked handsets out there, I'm puzzled why Nexus 5 is holding its used price, and its coming under attack on its new price.
Because it's a great phone. Oneplus one may be too big for some. Plus it's a true developers phone. No one knows what the oneplus one sources / blobs for drivers will be like...

I avoid devices for a couple of months to let bugs discovered and resolved.
But that wasn't my question, i don't understand why someone would buy used for 90% of new? It's not like stock is hard to get new.

its new price is fairly cheap, and its used price is competitive with other phones because its as good as or better than the other phones.

90% is cheaper than 100%. Not everyone is as fortunate as you to be able to pay 100%
"but it's only $35"
Someone could feed themselves for a week on that. Don't make the mistake of confusing being frugal with being dumb, or that everyone is the same as you

If they're starving they can do with a cheaper Nexus 4 for months.
Warranty is part of frugality, if my new N5 breaks I got some postage costs probably, but I'm less exposed financially than I am with used.
Well luckily for them, it's not your decision what they do with their money
Some people don't care about warranty. Some people know how to use warranty. It's not a problem for them, it's not a problem for you so don't worry yourself about people being "dumb". If you're asking "why isn't everyone like me?", well that's a philosophical question, probably better angled towards facebook

Because the phone is worth a lot more than $350 to most people. Similar phones cost $700 and the Oneplus isn't even being sold really.
Also countries that don't have the Play Store devices, their only choice is to buy them second hand and they are willing to pay as much as the retail cost.
One word answer: demand.

I agree plus we don't know the potential scare story inside the OnePlus for at least month, it needs bulk ownership first from those who have another device already as their main phone.

Those living in other countries buy our used phones. $350 for a used N5 is still half the price they would pay for a new phone in their country.
Anyone living in North America can buy the phone for $350 new and have no incentive to buy it used for that price.

What makes you think people in the US are buying them used for more than they cost new? I would just assume they are all out of seas, but there is no real way of telling. Or is there?
If they are, they must not realize they can buy it new for the same price from Google. Or perhaps they are attempting a scam of some sort.

Even in the USA, sometimes it takes a while to get. And beyond that, it's still cheaper than any other alternatives, and some people prefer it to be cheaper. If it's 10% cheaper than retail, then that's still 10% they save.

Aliexpress seller with no yellow screen

Hello. I want this phone since the first rummors appeared, but it scared me a little bit when i read that many people have the yellow screen problem.I want to buy it from aliexpress, seems to be the best prices there. I want to share your experience with the sellers and if it had the screen problem. I know there is a topic in the general section about aliexpress, but i want some straight answers. Thank you

Check on swappa. I have seen multiple phones there with the seller stating that the phone doesn't have any yellow.
Just as a warning: depending on where you live, the chinese OPO edition may not have the 3G/LTE bands you need.

The Chinese OPO has all the bands except some very specific US only LTE bands.
OT:
Doesn't matter where you get your phone from, the yellow screen issue will probably be there in one way or another. I bought my phone from Aliexpress and it had a slight yellow tint at the bottom that slowly went away with usage in a few weeks time.
Contrary to what many would have you believe, the Chinese version and the international version are basically the same. So if you really want to get an OPO, go for it.
And yes it should work great in Romania

Best place to buy in the UK?

Is there a goto place to buy in the UK with a UK warranty?
Had a nightmare with oneplus and wont' buy chinese again until they have some local presence.
The Honor 8 in blue looks great, so hence the question of where to buy.

Your best bet is to purchase the Honor 8 UK edition thru vmall.eu (https://www.vmall.eu/uk/honor-8-blue-292297/) which includes a warranty (see specifics here: https://www.vmall.eu/uk/warranty-policy/). If you have any other questions regarding the device and warranty policy, please let us know. (NS)

Notes:
The estimated arrival times are taken directly from information provided by our couriers. These are estimates only, and EXPANSYS are not responsible for any variation.
If selecting a next working day service, goods will need to be signed for. To help, please give a delivery address where someone will be available to sign.
Please note: Next day delivery service is available only when orders are invoiced and/or shipped out.
Unfortunately, if goods are returned to EXPANSYS because of an incorrect or incomplete address, the carriage is not refundable so please double check before submission.

I think 1 year is good enough already... usually after 1 year, manufacturer will stop/slow down upgrade, at that time, you have to rely on developers from XDA or places alike.

i have to agree here, most places will only offer a year anyway as after this they normally have slowed down production and are at that point concentrating on another product.
if its that much of a problem about aftercare i would personally find good insurance for your phone after the year is up @OP
i have insurance on all my electronics so i never pay a thing for breakdowns etc.

I will test my new device for sure. Especially those things that bother me most: is that fingerprint on display efficient? What about apps that use fingerprint for confirmation or login (bank apps, safeincloud,...) Will those still work? Will the device 'feel' the difference between tapping the screen and adding your fingerprint? Will apps need to be updated for this device? What's about that screen vibration that replaces the speaker? And will it still play music without earpeaces? Then what about Google play; will I be able to install my favorite apps and will they run as they do on my other devices? In a way, it's all part of the excitement of expecting an new device...
I prerecorded mine here:

This is what the Mi Mix 2 should've been, what the Lenovo z5 wishes it can be, and what every notch phone needs to be. Lol.
Anyway hate that resellers always jacking up these initial prices. Gotta wait a couple months before I can pick up this bad boy.

Thanks for you information, I appreciate it very much. So far it seems the only one I can find short of waiting for JD.com to ship to Canada is liaow.com.
Have you ever ordered from them and I assume by your comments a good experience?
Thanks again

I haven't ordered from them, but know they are excellent. In the same respect I know that WondaMobile is also an excellent place to order from, from others who have bought from there.

These people will definitely have it:
https://liaow.com/vivo-nex-black-256gb.html
Email them and ask them when its in. They provide excellent service, although are expensive.
Another great seller is:
https://www.wondamobile.com/
He also provides excellent service, at not expensive prices.
Email him and see what he says

I ordered the flagship 256gb from your first link. Observing that the seller seems to be responding to questions and from your advice I'll trust him. I'll report back to see what happens.

I'm sure they will provide top quality service. If they have it in stock and you order - you will have receive it within a short period of time. They want the business after all.

I tried to find a Vivo nex in a shop in Belgium, then expanded to Europe... but no luck. Then I saw Ali express mentioned some shops doing pre-order. I contacted a few - I'm always afraid of fake devices when buying from China - and one shop cached my trust. Si that's where I ordered my nex. It should be deliverd in about 30 days. I'm so excited about this device. I will report my experiences once I got it.

I can confirm this seller is a boss. He communicates really fast and guess what! The Oppo Find X that'll be announced in 2 days will be carried by liaow.com and he will allow me to switch my order if I want! He also messaged about switching the language to english and preinstalling the google play store.

Oppo Find X looks beastly too. People are hoping that future OnePlus 6T will be based off it.
Good luck with whichever phone you go with
Also listed on Banggood and CECT-SHOP, but you can't order it. I think it will be available next week.
Yeah for me if will be the Vivo Nex or Oppo Find X. Tuesday we know more about Oppo Find X
Finaly the dream phones are coming.
High-end phone, big flat AMOLED screen, black color, almost no bezels, no ugly notch, dual camera and et cetera.

Pre order links -EU

Launch day today - has anyone found the pre order link for UK / Europe?
Their customer service opens shortly so I'll enquire there too and post here if/when I find it...
Edit: can anyone find any other EU pre order links?
https://m.alza.co.uk/asus-zenfone-7-pro-black-d6122969.htm?o=1
They have the white one available too
These aren't a UK based company though so may hold off and await one
So I emailed asus about this:
"Hi there,
It has been stated that the zenfone 7 pro is due to launch in Europe today (01/09/2020).
Could you tell me where I can find a link to buy the phone in the UK?"
I got this in response:
"Dear {redacted},
Thank you for contacting ASUS Support and for your interest in our products.
Unfortunately, ASUS and ROG mobile handsets are currently no longer on sale in the UK.
For any further enquiry, please contact the UK PR team at: [email protected]
If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. "
So I'm not sure what is going on...

Thanks for that.
I reckon I may order it from the Alza website, exciting times!
Just perhaps holding off just in case a better price/sooner available option becomes available... Though can't seem to find any at all!
I'm interested in this phone too and only link I have found is the Alza one. I'm tempted by it but currently on a OnePlus, I'm not sure how big the development community will be in comparison. I'd also like to see if anyone comes up with a decent GCam port first.
Keep us updated on whether you decide to order from Alza and your experience with that site.
will it come out from Wondamobile?

I'm in communications with Arnova8G2, a developer of Gcam and they said "I have the zenfone 6 and it is very good with gcam, zenfone 7 pro already works with gcam 7.3 and more" - so based of this response I'm definitely gonna pre order the Zenfone 7 Pro! I think gcam on it will make it the perfect phone!
As for development, I've reached out on zenfone 6 thread and HavocOS. Which is inspiring that there's some good roms available for that device at least. Though worst case scenario, I'd be happy with rooted stock and gravitybox - which is my current setup for Xperia 1 ii.
Alza says "expected 14th September" but that would also mean shipping from Prague to UK for me. Could be earlier therefore, or later. I'll be preordering soon I reckon.

Hmm unsure. So far I've only seen Alza sell it, nowhere else!
I've ended up just buying a mint condition oneplus 7t pro on ebay for around the same price of this phone. It does what I want and was easy to find.

To be fair, that's a very good shout.
I had the oneplus 7 Pro prior to my current xperia 1 ii. It was a great phone, active rom development, loved the pop up camera and the gcam port made it a pleasure to take snaps with. My only slight gripe with it was the curved screen, I just wasn't a fan of it, but all in all a great phone.
As much as I love the Xperia there's just something not quite right for me about it. I know it's camera possibilities is one of its main features, but I miss the gcam and apparently (after speaking with the dev) hard to get working.
I love the flip camera on the Zenfone and do miss a 90hz display, plus with a likely more active rom community I'm gonna sell this and basically switch at no/little cost.
Hey guys, I'm presuming Alza only ships to the UK?

Ahhh cheers. Does VAT apply to all countries it ships to? Sorry I'm from Australia and don't know how it works over there. I'm thinking of having it shipped to a friend in either UK or Germany and have them ship it to me.

Hmm I presume so, it certainly showed in my pre order invoice.
Perhaps best check with them to confirm.
Good luck!
For French users only,
The Zenfone 7/7 Pro is only available on LDLC.com and official Asus store page. 699€ for the vanilla variant and 799€ for the Pro.

Any reason why you went with this site over Alza?
It's my girlfriend's birthday next weekend and she wanted a new iPhone. Now I've ordered here that (albeit a bad time as iPhone 12 will be out soon) I feel like I need to upgrade my 3 year old handset! ?
Think I'm settled on getting the ZenFone now, it ticks all the boxes for me.
Also, as no official UK release, I presume it will be shipped with EU charger?

I wished to use PayPal on this occasion and they accepted it.
They mention that they'll include an UK adapter, hopefully they actually will but no biggy if not!
