Aliexpress seller with no yellow screen - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I want this phone since the first rummors appeared, but it scared me a little bit when i read that many people have the yellow screen problem.I want to buy it from aliexpress, seems to be the best prices there. I want to share your experience with the sellers and if it had the screen problem. I know there is a topic in the general section about aliexpress, but i want some straight answers. Thank you

There's already a thread for this.

Check on swappa. I have seen multiple phones there with the seller stating that the phone doesn't have any yellow.

Just as a warning: depending on where you live, the chinese OPO edition may not have the 3G/LTE bands you need.

I don't think any seller would say that.

The Chinese OPO has all the bands except some very specific US only LTE bands.
OT:
Doesn't matter where you get your phone from, the yellow screen issue will probably be there in one way or another. I bought my phone from Aliexpress and it had a slight yellow tint at the bottom that slowly went away with usage in a few weeks time.
Contrary to what many would have you believe, the Chinese version and the international version are basically the same. So if you really want to get an OPO, go for it.
And yes it should work great in Romania

Well not all of them say it but I have seen more than one posting saying that the phone being sell doesn't have yellow band in the bottom. On top of that if they don't specify it you can ask and they will tell you if it does have it or not, plus request additional photos.

I think that this is just marketing. That would mean that every package would be open.

Yes they are open because 90% of the phones sold on swappa are used phones.

Is it possible to use a Google-disabled nexus?

My dad's going to India to visit family, and a cousin asked to see if I could find someone selling a used Nexus 4. Or something that had a bad ESN but was unlocked, so that he could still use it in India.
During my search, I came across an ad on Craigslist..where a guy is selling a Nexus 5...says it's unlocked and will not work here but will work elsewhere in the world.
So I asked him if it had a bad esn, and he said No, it's disabled by Google.
I use an iPhone and I'm not sure what that means...I did a lot of searching and came across this site.
And the only place I saw "disabled nexus" being referred to, was with people who had their nexus phones stolen during delivery...and Google then disabled the phone and refunded the money.
So, I'm faced with a moral dilemma that the phone could have been stolen OR the guy himself lied to Google about it and got a refund and is now trying to make some money.
But the price is good...and I'd really like to buy it.
So..my question is... Will a new unlocked Nexus 5 that has been disabled/deactivated by Google, work in India?
Or would the deactivation be worldwide? Because no point getting a good price, if the phone won't work!
I really don't know where to turn to.
I'd appreciate the help.
thanks.
The point of disabling a device is making it useless. Why would it work anywhere? What's the price? The price on a brand new one is already low enough, how low can this be? If it's too good to be true, it is.

He might just be a thief (or a delivery guy from UPS that stole someones phone , like it happened to me ) and is now only trying to sell it/them .

The reason I posted that question..was because I don't know what "disabled" means. At first I thought, it meant like having a bad esn.
But if it means turning the phone into a brick that won't start or operate, then that's that.
The price is $300 for a 32gb Nexus.

No, that doesn`t matter. It would be best to have this thread closed imo as this is not the place to discuss on how to get `hot` devices operable. Thread reported!
Just buy a legitimate phone or a cheaper one

Common Issues with OPO?

Hi I am planning to buy a new phone. 1+1 is one of my candidate. (along side Galaxy S5, Moto X 2014, and HTC One M8)
So i would like to know about the common issues faced by 1+1 users and the things 1+1 is plagued with?
I was made aware of Yellow Tint issue and the sandstone black version's materials getting chipped off.
Please do give me update on those, as i wont be able to avail the warranty in my country.
Thank You
Only some devices have yellow banding, and it's been blown out of proportion. Just do some research for yourself in this forum (specifically the section you're posting in) and you'll see the issues that are reported. Just keep in mind that any issues you see only affect a small percentage of the devices out there.

Can you confirm me something please
If the yellow tint thing is present does it show up at a later period of time or it will be present from the initial boot?
As I will not get any gurantee or warranty so unless it shows up in the store at initial boot i am doomed.
And is there anything else you have to share about it?
I will have to pay around $430 for 64gb version in my country. And the S5 is $530 in my country. So i am kind of confused which to go with

I saw quite some number of posts about it and read it on other places too online.
So I just want some clarification about the matter bro as I will be investing quite a good amount of money to it.
And as for another $100 i can get a Snap801 Galaxy S5 too. So things like these do matter to me a lot

You need to remember that only the people having problems are making a big noise about it. All the people with perfect phones aren't creating threads just to tell us that their phone is working as it should be. What I'm saying is the people with problems are always the most vocal, but they still only make up a small percentage of the total user base.

Thanks for your response, and yes I do know and agree with your second statement.
Kindly can you spare few minutes and share other knows issues about this phone that generally cannot be solved by software update.
I am kind of going to buy my next phone within 12-24 hours and spending $430 for the 1+1 6gb or $530 S5 wont make any difference to me financial wise.
So i really want a reliable phone for a long term usage of like around 1.5 years.
And I guess at that time S5 would have a better resale value than 1+1 right?
Sorry for such long questions. I just need to be confident about my decision
Hope you understand and help me making my decision

All 1+1 have the yellow tint issue. Some people are not able to notice it, while some others do not find it that big of a deal. The rest complain. At the end, the choice is yours. Just search.

I didn't believe this until I noticed it in my opo built in 9/23/2014.
Its not noticeable and doesn't bother me. My advice: don't look for it unless you are tolerant with these bugs.

Where Can I purchase OPO without issues (Yellowish,Touchscreen, etc..)

I have owned OPO 64GB purchased from Oneplus US

The best place to buy the phone is definitely from the official OnePlus Site. That is where I got my phone (United States, shipped from California to Washington) and I have not had any issues at all. Most of the One's from the other sites are probably more likely to have those issues than the phones bought on the official site.

I don't know why you think purchasing the phone elsewhere will get you a different result. You're still going to get the same device, from the same manufacturer, with the same chance of faults occurring.

Yeah, but my point is that no matter where you purchase the phone you're taking the same gamble. Perhaps if you scoured eBay for listings that specifically say they don't have these issues, but then you're buying second-hand and missing out on a warranty. Other than that there's really no point in buying anywhere other than from OnePlus directly.

A bit off topic, but display was an issue with my HTC M7 as well (3 manufacturers of display). Furthermore with my Sony Z3C it was the issue with speakers (2 manufacturers). Just saying that Oneplus is not alone in this "gambling".

Best place to buy in the UK?

Is there a goto place to buy in the UK with a UK warranty?
Had a nightmare with oneplus and wont' buy chinese again until they have some local presence.

Your best bet is to purchase the Honor 8 UK edition thru vmall.eu (https://www.vmall.eu/uk/honor-8-blue-292297/) which includes a warranty (see specifics here: https://www.vmall.eu/uk/warranty-policy/). If you have any other questions regarding the device and warranty policy, please let us know. (NS)

I think 1 year is good enough already... usually after 1 year, manufacturer will stop/slow down upgrade, at that time, you have to rely on developers from XDA or places alike.

i have to agree here, most places will only offer a year anyway as after this they normally have slowed down production and are at that point concentrating on another product.
if its that much of a problem about aftercare i would personally find good insurance for your phone after the year is up @OP
i have insurance on all my electronics so i never pay a thing for breakdowns etc.

Where To Buy?

So, anyone know where I can pick this beast up?
I tried to find a Vivo nex in a shop in Belgium, then expanded to Europe... but no luck. Then I saw Ali express mentioned some shops doing pre-order. I contacted a few - I'm always afraid of fake devices when buying from China - and one shop cached my trust. Si that's where I ordered my nex. It should be deliverd in about 30 days. I'm so excited about this device. I will report my experiences once I got it.

Yea, please let us all know how you like it when youve had time to play with it for awhile. I know I wont pick up one for a few months, maybe Christmas time. I am very eager to see what developers start doing for this phone tho, I hope it has a huge following.

I will test my new device for sure. Especially those things that bother me most: is that fingerprint on display efficient? What about apps that use fingerprint for confirmation or login (bank apps, safeincloud,...) Will those still work? Will the device 'feel' the difference between tapping the screen and adding your fingerprint? Will apps need to be updated for this device? What's about that screen vibration that replaces the speaker? And will it still play music without earpeaces? Then what about Google play; will I be able to install my favorite apps and will they run as they do on my other devices? In a way, it's all part of the excitement of expecting an new device...
I prerecorded mine here:
aliexpress.com/item/VIVO-NEX-Screen-Fingerprint-Cellphone-8GB-128GB-Snapdragon-845-Smartphone-Octa-Core-6-59-OLED-Full/32884745578.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.20b14c4dFanTlv
Seems to be a trustworthy vendor. 100% positive rating, responds fast and accurate as far as I can tell.

Thanks for you information, I appreciate it very much. So far it seems the only one I can find short of waiting for JD.com to ship to Canada is liaow.com.
Have you ever ordered from them and I assume by your comments a good experience?
Thanks again
Looking forward to hearing feedback when those of you who have ordered this phone rec
I'm still trying to decide which phone to buy this year, so many have come out or are due to come out. This phone looks interesting, I like the size of the screen, the battery capacity, the rear camera specs and the fact it's an international phone that includes LTE bands for North America. I hope to see some reviews once new owners receive their phones and have a chance to use them. Thanks in advance.

This is what the Mi Mix 2 should've been, what the Lenovo z5 wishes it can be, and what every notch phone needs to be. Lol.
Anyway hate that resellers always jacking up these initial prices. Gotta wait a couple months before I can pick up this bad boy.

I haven't ordered from them, but know they are excellent. In the same respect I know that WondaMobile is also an excellent place to order from, from others who have bought from there.

I ordered the flagship 256gb from your first link. Observing that the seller seems to be responding to questions and from your advice I'll trust him. I'll report back to see what happens.

I'm sure they will provide top quality service. If they have it in stock and you order - you will have receive it within a short period of time. They want the business after all.

I can confirm this seller is a boss. He communicates really fast and guess what! The Oppo Find X that'll be announced in 2 days will be carried by liaow.com and he will allow me to switch my order if I want! He also messaged about switching the language to english and preinstalling the google play store.

Oppo Find X looks beastly too. People are hoping that future OnePlus 6T will be based off it.
Good luck with whichever phone you go with
Also listed on Banggood and CECT-SHOP, but you can't order it. I think it will be available next week.
Yeah for me if will be the Vivo Nex or Oppo Find X. Tuesday we know more about Oppo Find X
Finaly the dream phones are coming.
High-end phone, big flat AMOLED screen, black color, almost no bezels, no ugly notch, dual camera and et cetera.
