"New" Nexus 5 Listings on eBay? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Seems to be a bunch of listings for "new" D820 devices from China. Does anyone know what the deal is with these phones?
New 32GB stock is getting scarce, but I don't want to do anything foolish.

Where are you seeing these? IF its eBay or Alibaba I'd stay well away

You also have to take into account possible RMAs if you get a bad version. Newegg also doesn't charge tax in certain states. So those small things could be the deal breaker if you want to save a little money.

I highly suggest Amazon. It's $398 there also and if you have a prime account you get free 2 day shipping.
Amazon has by far the best customer service out of any supplier I have ever purchased anything from. If you have any problems at all the CS takes care of it fast and easily.
I tend to get as many electronics as possible from Amazon because they give me an ease of mind should anything go wrong with the device I know there won't be any hassle to return it.
Also, there is no sales tax (at least here in texas there isn't not sure about where you are located) making the price almost equal to the bestbuy deal I believe.

And I highly recommend Newegg. They don't charge sales tax here and customer service is A+.
Nevermind, almost 20$ for shipping
Optimus Prime offers the best advise. Buy it where you have the best return policy. I am on my second TF and some members have returned theirs multiple times for different issues. My screen died and the new one I replaced it with has worse screen light leaks than the first one and I would like to return it if it gets any worse. Get yours where you will be able to return it without any hassels if you need to. On the TF, I would probably advise buying the 1 year replacement insurance from your retailer so you don't have to box it up and send it off to Asus repair facilty in Texas after your standard 30 day retailer warranty policy expires. I have read some real horror stories...
Best buy $350 with staples $50 off tablet, PC coupon.
My buddy was looking for a tablet and I sent him the coupon (that expired today 6/17) and he walked out happy.
$350 for a major player on the front line of the android tablets is a great deal.

What's the point of buying a device if you're expecting it not to meet your needs?
I bought a used like new one on amazon for $350. The only issue i have is dust under camera lens, doesnt affect picture quality though.

I have bought quite a few tablets. The TF is a great device but has manufacturing issues. I like my TF, it has the most storage of any device currently out there. My 32GB TF with 32GB MicroSD and 32GB SD has more than I should ever need. The screen resolution is the best, the battery dock allows for 16 hours of use, handy on my overseas flights. To answer your question, I think if you wait for the perfect device, you will never see it. I will buy them as they come along and be educated on each one...

I've owned a Galaxy Tab10.1, and others, before returning them and making my "real time experience" with each one. So, I can say I've owned a few tablets too but I only own one now
Thank you Best Buy return policy!
However, it would be nice to have another. Could you share that extra wealth you have and send me paypal money for another? I'll add a "Thanks" for sure, LOL

The only ones I can find used are $4 cheaper. And I'd just pay that $4 for a complete new one. If I can find a used one like yours that is a decent amount off the original, ill probably buy it.

I personally am very picky about how something functions and how it should be working. I expect something to work as it should. The transformer so far does the job well other than the light bleed i have no issues. but also do understand things do sometimes with time malfunction... but not with in the first 2 months of owning said item.
i did buy the extended warranty from best buy though. Screw Asus and their RMAs thingys might as well take it to the store cant fix it. the replace it
picky me... im on my 5th phone actually with in 2 months because they didnt work as expected. i dont put up with bull ha!

The Nexus 5 is not for sale yet, to the best of my knowledge, from non-Google Play Store locations. Sprint and T-Mobile will have it, soon, but from what I know the play store is the only location aside from ebay or something like that presently.

Directions are here. Just search for them.
As for buying one, Sprint and Best buy have them. I purchased a 16gb one from Best Buy last week and am running it on Straight Talk. All versions of the phone are the same right now. No matter where you buy it. If you plan on buying it out right the Play Store is going to be cheapest. I was lucky and got Best Buy to price match the play store. Most got denied.
Also, right now there is no 64gb version. Just 16gb and 32gb.

WRONG. Both Sprint and T-mobile are selling it now -- wth $100 markup. I think some people just make up stuff or don't keep up.
From last week:
Google's Nexus 5 Smartphone Comes to T-Mobile
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2063392/googles-nexus-5-smartphone-comes-to-t-mobile.html
But has been available "to the public" since October 31. I ordered my black 32GB on that same day, was delivered on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Then ordered a 2nd 32 GB white Nexus 5 for my wife last week, which came 2 days later.
I apologize for trying to help out the OP between jobs. I ordered mine day 1, got it the Tuesday after release, went to a Sprint store the next day, confused the employees while getting my SIM and haven't been back. 1,000 sorry's for not shopping at stores more. My bad.

best place to purchase oem battery

The battery on my Nexus 4 no longer holds a charge very well. Neither LG or Google directly sell replacement batteries from what I gather. Does anyone know a reputable source to purchase an OEM replacement battery? I'm considering this seller on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-BL-T5-BL..._Cell_Phone_PDA_Batteries&hash=item2a386ff701
but you just never really know what's legitimate these days. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Also,
Does anyone know where I can find an OEM Nexus 4 USB cable? I know any micro usb would suffice but I happen to like the aesthetic design of that cable.

Battery "life" of a lithium ion is around 500 cycles. If you've charged your phone daily, you've hit that 500 cycle mark. At this point, your battery has probably lost up to 20% of its capacity.

Dude, why would you buy a screen from eBay for 90 euros and don't even know 100% if it's original, when for 80 euros you can buy it directly from LG. I bought one a month ago and it's amazing, plus you have 1 year warranty.

I don't think it's Europe only. On the right side there is a picture that says "Worldwide shipping..." which should mean that they ship spare parts anywhere in the world. If you want to order something maybe try and contact them first if they can ship to your country.

Yeah, I don't think moto maker is worth $150, but I guess it depends on how much you like the custom design.
