Try downloading it from some other site and see if it works.
If you are rooted, clean dalvik cache
well i already clear dalvk cache using lucky patcher. and i already download the apk from different site and its main site. but still the problem occur. any idea?
In that case, uninstall google play, Google play services, and delete "hosts" from system/etc directory.
---------- Post added at 10:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:55 AM ----------
Then again normally install play store and services, and make them system app
---------- Post added at 10:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:56 AM ----------
Hope that will work
i already do this step today using lucky patcher but too bad the problem still occur. i cnt install certain app only. really need the blackmart app for somthing just afraid this problem occur in future which will prevent me from download really importnt app.
.
still thanx everyone whobreply. just hoping theres some solution about it.
Did you ever figure this out?
Best way is to clear your cache

Today I went to update the apps on my TF101 and couldn't find the market. The link to it on my home screen said that the app was missing. It's not showing up at all in my installed apps list or in Super Manager.
Has anyone heard of this happening?
Market for TF101 available?
Wow, no one. Okay, then it must be something I did (though I don't know what).
What's the best way to re-load the Honeycomb version of the market?
I have never heard of the Market app just disappearing (not to say it can't happen). Try this one to see if it work (it's v 3.3.12)
I installed it as an update but since you're without a Market I'm not sure how it will work for you.
http://www.multiupload.com/DC4KOTPPX0
BTW do you have root?
I do indeed have root. I'm worried that some app I have has deleted the market on me. Removing a bunch of apps while I try to find out. I only need communication and some pentest apps anyway on it.
Downloading the linked file now to give it a test. Thanks for the help!
Well, it worked (installed and connects), but it keeps force closing when I try to update or install any apps.
Try clear data for market, also clear cache for download manger
No joy.
Should I be moving the Market apk to a system app directory? I'd heard before that it needs to be in /system/apps/ somewhere. Or does it install itself to that location?
I have a com.android.vending-1.apk in data/app with Permission rw, r, r
(don't see a Vending.apk like on my phone in system/app).
I don't know what to do, then. Can't get new apps installed with the Market force closing on me. Can't update old either.
Backup up apps and data, you might need to do a factory reset.
Are you on stock ROM or custom ROM?
Stock ROM. Haven't seen a custom ROM for the TF101 that seemed worth it.
Backing up when I get home from work. We'll see if a factory reset will work.
Thanks for the help troubleshooting, baseballfanz.
Well, crap. I factory reset, and I still have no Market.
I definitely need help now. I need to find a Market APK that works.
This is the version that was officially updated on my TF
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16959871/Market-8009011.apk
Yeah factory reset will not restore anything deleted. It might wipe out certain data/settings that was conflicting with why it was FC.
Still no good. Constant FC.
This sucks.
Not sure if this will help. On some phone going into settings and choosing English (US) solved fc for market. Also I remember a member who had a rouge app causing the fc. Don't remember the exact app of hand
This is a tablet, not a phone. Also, I factory reset it, so no apps on it except the ones it shipped with.
Does anyone have access to the stock TF101 ROM?
To heck with stock. Installed Revolution. Good to go!

I tried downloading and installing titanium backup from the market. Gives me an error.... insufficient storage. My device is rooted and has CWM 5.0.2.7 installed. I have tried rebooting in recovery, wiped dalvic cache and reflashed with p6800_recovery too. I have used my root explorer and deleted com.keramedius.titaniumbackup, but to no avail. Plenty of space in my system memory and sd card too. Any tips on solving this problem without a factory wipe?
Try modifying your platform.xml as per this post.
(Nandroid backup before you modify the file)

I can't find app called Downloads in Play store.
I ve tried downgrading google play store.... doesn't help at all.
You need to go Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - All
Clear cache and data on both:
Download manager
Downloads
If this fails, I am out of suggestions, I am afraid.
Good luck!

I was having this problem on my MIUI ROM, it's generally caused by installing a new ROM without wiping.
TB was originally installed in my device before flashing MIUI update (not as system app), and after flashing the update without wiping data, i had "Titanium stop working" message, so i tried to uninstall it using MIUI App Manager, and any attemp of reinstalling it using google play or .apk file failed, i always got this problem "insufficient storage space", although I could install any other app.
I tried to go to /data/app and i couldn't find the .odex file, i tried /syste/app/ with no success, i tried wiping dalvik cache twice, restarting my phone and searching for any additional TB file in my sd card, and deleted them (there was an .odex file in Lucky Patcher folder). Well nothing happened.
After 1 hour of trying, i restarted my phone, went to google play and voila, magically it was successfully installed!
I don't know what did the trick, but i guess deleting the .odex file from Lucky Patcher folder fixed the problem
Hope i helped any googling user who is having this problemI
where is the lucky patcher folder? cant find it anywhere...whats it called
p.s. i have root explorer and have access to all folders
I think the problem arise when u uninstall off market apk under google play,
( which i did ) thus system got error. Anyway wipe was easier route. ^^

I had the same problem with my Photon and solved as: I had installed Lucky Patcher.Launched it.Then opened "Troubleshooting" menu. The last step, i clicked "Remove fixes and backups".That fixed it.Hope it helps.
Maybe a bit late for this. I've had a similar issue. I found that going into Data/App with a root explorer and deleting the .ODEX file of the app your trying to install. It then updates through market without the error message.
Someone please help. I have Titanium Backup instilled, but whenever I try to make any backup I get the "Backup failed: Insufficient free storage space" error, even though I have 25 GB free. I tried to delete the Odex file that was mentioned above, but it's not there. Even if I uninstall and reinstall Titanium Backup, I still get the same error when I try to create a backup. I saw someone mentioned Lucky Patcher. What is that and where do I find it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
I've flashed a new ROM and restored the app from Google Play.
Among them, Titanium Backup and it's Pro key.
First I've saw the error "not enough free storage".
Then uninstalled both the app and the key. Reinstalled.
Wipe dalvik cache and cache...
Nothing works more.
I can install but it always shown Version Pro (donation) - Thank you! but I cannot backup anything.
P.S. I do not have an .odex file in system\data folder (as suggested in other threads).
What can I do?

yes, thats where i was, but it did not detect the legacy location and give me that option like it normally does. Tried editing the post after I figured it out, but I had to wait 5 minutes then didnt care any more lol. In the screen where you select to scan or use current, the back button goes up a level in the directories, so I just had to manually navigate to the proper location

Several fixes have suggested so far and different fixes have helped different people. So here an additional option wich migth help.
I moved the backup folder from it's previous location to /storage/B3EC-1310/Android/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup/Backup using adb shell which is a lot faster then using a file manager which moves every file in a directory separately.
The B3EC-1310 is the ID of the SD card which will be different for every SD card.
Then I changed the location in Titanium Backup itself as well. That works for now but is still not perfect. I guess I need to change from the AOKP rom to a rom which does not protect the SD card.

Hi,
how do you typically keep your memory clean and free?
Do you use memory cleaning tools, or do you just re-install the custom rom regularly from scratch?

Hi, what I meant was that from time to time there's quite some data accumulating, also for the different app updates etc, that needs a regulat clean up.

If u talking about installing from play, ya it needs a lot space
I guess (not sure) editing the playstore or framework-res apk can solve it
If talking about manual installation, it needs jst a littl more space than apk
What I don't understand: acc to my settings I have >150MB free in internal memory, but somehow google play is still unable to install any further app.
Should I consider a different app store which does better, or how could I download apk files for manual installation?
Hello, I am aware that there are lots of third party uninstallers for Windows which delete program leftovers after they get uninstalled and I wanted to ask whether there exists something similar for Android. Even after uninstalling an application I get an error sometimes, mostly when l am trying to install an application. I get the report that the old one is not deleted. I went to the root section of some of the applications as well as deleted data. Seems nothing helps. I hope there is an application which can delete the leftovers automatically (something similar to SD Maid's corpse scanner, just the working method).
Thank you in advance!

Android uses solid state memory, defrag is useless on Android, android doesn't store data the same way PC does, the data doesn't get "scattered" across the "drive space" like it does on PC.

It seems to me like your issue is caused by the fact that you have uninstalled some system apps and now you're getting errors associated with those apps.
If this is what your issue is, the solution is simple.
Anytime you add/remove/install/uninstall system apps, immediately after you're done installing/uninstalling/modifying system files/apps, remember to boot into recovery and wipe the cache partition.
Adding/removing/modifying system files/apps confuses the system because it is looking for data that isn't where it is supposed to be or it's finding data that is there but doesn't know what to do with it because the app it is associated to is no longer there to use the data.
Wiping the cache partition then rebooting allows the system to reload everything correctly into cache so that everything works with the changes that you made.
