Dear Friends,
I recently flashed XtreStoLite Deodexed Mod Edition for my phone. Before that I didn't bother which Model I have.
Now I can see several entries in the settings. Some, like Phone Model say SM-G920I while the Baseband information says it's a SM-G920F?
The Phone isn't working properly. I have massive battery drain and the 4G connection is quite unstable and choppy. I figured that might be due to the Modem. I want to flash the right modem now but I am confused about which version to flash (F or I)
I haven't changed the BL or Modem yet and it says it's F Version)
Thanks for your help
Thomas
If your baseband reads as 920F and you have never flash BL via odin before, it is a 920F. XtreSto latest rom is based on 920i so thats why it shows that in model number. You can refer to XtreSto post 3 for latest baseband and model version for 920F. I suggest you download wakelock detector or betterbatterystat to find out whats draining your battery.

I have tried to install UK's Three firmware but it keeps failing after hidden.img, I can get my phone back by installing the BTU version (G920FXXU2COH2/G920FBTU2COH3/G920FXXU2COH2/G920FXXU2COH2). Why can't I install the H3G version (G920FXXU2BOG8/G920FH3G2BOG1/G920FXXU2BOGE/G920FXXU2BOG8) ? Will it make a difference if I install the H3G one with reception? WIll my reception inprove? The reason I want to do this is that my S4 has better reception than my S6, so I assume that maybe if I get the H3G version installed the reception will be better. I can't believe that my S4 has better reception.
Yes your reception could get better with a different baseband. But it's not necessary to flash a whole new stock rom for that. The BTU version uses OH2 baseband if I am right and the H3G version uses BOGE? So just find the BOGE modem and flash that
Excellent. I have installed that modem and will check it over the next few days. I know at work I used to get 1 bar of 4G on my Galaxy S4.
You can't install boge because of older version

Not sure what you mean by orlder version as it installed fine and rebooted and when I went to my settings it stated that the baseband is G920FFXXU2BOGE so I am sure it worked.
Hello,
I have a S6 Edge (Vodafone Germany) and flashed the UniKernel v8-0002 COH9 and kept the stock firmware, the build number is G925FXXU2QOH8.
The phone doesn't recognize my SIM card. After some googling I have found out, that it could be related to the missing baseband version.
I have found out that the newest firmware uses G925FXXU2COH2 modem. I have downloaded and flashed it, but it doesn't change anything.
The baseband version is still unknown.
What did I miss?
QOH8 and COH2 are quite the same firmware. The only difference is that the QOH( is for branded Devices and COH" for unlocked devices without any branding but in Germany there is no such thing as branding. You most likely have an international variant.
Maybe you could try to flash the whole firmware, not only the modem.
Thanks for your fast reply. I found out that my efs partition is corrupted.
I have Samsung S3 GT-I9300CDMA /GSM mobile global unlocked mobile.I am using CDMA network in India. I want to install CM11 or 12 on mine mobile but I think it’s not possible as bootloader is locked. The snap shot of the android firmware version is attached .I have rooted it with towel root app but unable to unlock bootloader as its android version4.4.2.I tried to install TWRP recovery but its failed.
It seems that Verizon SGH-I535 4.4.2 stock ROM Is installed on Samsung S3 GT-I9300 mobile.
I want to install safe strap on mobile, before that I want to download 4.4.2 stock ROM which is installed on my mobile.Pls suggest
1) Which firmware I have to flash in case its get bricked? Verizon I535- 4.4.2 stock ROM or Samsung S3 GT-i9300,Base band version I9300XXUGNA8,Build number KOT49H.I9300XXUGND5 ?I am unable to find out the firmware installed on my mobile on google.
2) Can anyone provide me the link from which I can download this firmware.
3) Can I flash any other ROM using ODIN for Sprint /Cricket on which bootloader is locked ?& use CDMA network
Pls help.
Before flashing anything I would recommend you verify the bootloader and modem on your phone with either the Phone Info *Samsung* app by vndnguyen from the Playstore or with these terminal emulator commands:
Code:
getprop ro.bootloader
getprop | grep version.baseband
I checked the sammobile site to see what I could find about the baseband and build versions you inquired about. I didn't find the NA8 bootloader for the i535, i747/i747M, or i9300. My concern that you use the correct firmware/stock rom arises from the fact that the i535 and i747/i747M use different processors than does the i9300. If you flash the wrong one I would expect your device to be bricked.
Dawgdoc thanks for reply. The bootloader, base band version and hardware details are attached. It's GSM mobile programmed to use CDMA network in India.
This is a bit odd to me, unlike what I have seen reported before. Based on your screen shots; the bootloader, modem, and csc are from the Verizon i535 KitKat release. The device was in the US with a Qualcomm dual core processor and 2 Gb ram. For the i535 this bootloader is indeed locked, fortunately you can install SafeStrap when on this NE1, sadly you can not install any AOSP/CM custom roms. From what I have read, flashing this on the i9300 should brick it. The i9300 has a quad-core exynos processor and 1 Gb ram.
The PDA version confuses me. It is supposed to be from a 4.3 stock ROM for the i9300 that was only released in the Nordic countries.
The Hardware screenshot indicates you have an i535. The CSC screenshot indicates the VZW i535 and something about CHN (China ?).
The General screenshot is back to divided between the i535 and the i9300.
I am not confident enough to tell you what the status of your phone is and what would be safe to flash.
@audit13 @ShapesBlue @DocHoliday77 do any of you have experience with a similar situation?
@dawgdoc sorry man I sure don't. I'm not even sure what to do on this one
I am also stumped. Was the phone sold as brand new? I have an LG G2 and have read stories about people getting frankenphones when buying refurbished.
As per seller its refurbished phone & unlocked to use GSM / CDMA network. But if i check the IMEI number on site http://www.imei.info/ its displays message invalid IMEI.Is this mobile is cloned?
But if i check my mobile for Refurbishment check with Phone Info *Samsung* app by vndnguyen from the Playstore,in displays mesage "Your phone is ORIGINAL"if serial number checking was skipped.
I am confused whether this Mobile is Genuine or not?
The only thing I have left to suggest is posting in the i9300 forum to see if anybody there is familiar with such a situation. I usually see the guys I tagged in the i535 and i747 forums.
I have posted this in i9300 forum.
I have installed safe strap version 4 and backup my Rom.can I flash superliterom v_5.0_ i535_VRUDNE1_deodexed. Zip using safe strap? In case after flashing if my mobile get in to boot loop, can I restore back my stock ROM?
Pls suggest as I don't have Stock ROM file to flash using Odin.
Team I am able to install superliterom v_5.0_i535 VRUDNE1_deodexed.zip using safe strap version 4 on my phone.
Sorry I wasn't able to reply sooner.
I am glad to see you have it working.
Thanks dawgdoc and others for providing information that they have, about the firmware installed on my mobile.
This is a bizarre situation. I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 from a local store, and clearly it was used as it was not in its original box and accessories. Well the price was cheap, so I did not mind. The phone is original, I can confirm, however there is a strange issue. In the 'About device' it is written that the phone is a SM-G900F model, while under the battery there is the sticker with GT-S5830i (yes Galaxy Ace !!!) with a wrong IMEI and S/N. Furthermore, the phone was rooted I checked with two apps from the playstore. The phone had an issue as well, I can see in the background all the time a VERY faint image of the Easy mode, and interestingly I cannot get into Easy mode. So I thought to flash a latest firmware downloaded from sammobile (of course the SM-G900F version). However the flashing process keeps failing. And to my surprise in the Odin mode, it says: Product name: SM-G900P. So, I have a S5 which is a Sprint variant and unlocked but says it is the International variant in 'About Device"?
My questions are:
1. How can I get the latest firmware and updates from Samsung (OTA updates)?
2. How can I remove the root?
3. If I have update the firmware manually using Odin, which one should I download, the SM-G900P version or the SM-G900F version (this had no success)?
3. Will updating the firmware cause the phone to be locked again?
4. What should I really do? I know I can complaint to the seller, but I am curious about this situation.
NOTE:
Bootloader: G900PVPU2B0D3
Build ID: KOT49H.G900FVPU1AND2
Baseband version: G900FVPU1AND2
Kernel version: 3.4.0-964333
This is what happens when you buy a refurbished phone...
Because you got a g900p bootloader, try flash with odin the latest g900p rom (OK4).
If you can't flash because some error, i would try:
Flash only the bootloader (g900p OK4)
Flash the baseband to the last one (g900f OL3, if got any error flashing this baseband try flash g900p OK4)
Flash TWRP recovery
Flash ALEXNDR BOK6 rom -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development/rom-ane4-kitkat-4-4-2-multi-csc-t2813628
Mine like you.
my father present me s5 to my birthday but it looks so nasty. at about phone it seems G900f but bootloader it looks G900p.
i wanna use 3g or lte but it occurs other word 3g or lte doesnt work. i just wanna use 3g but i dont no what should i do When i turn on 3g it say Unable to Establish Wireless Data Connection LTE-ESM-33 EMM-x
I successfully installed a CM13 ROM for a different variant than my phone. Installed ROM jfltexx variant intended for a Gt19505 model S4 on an i337z S4. It worked and now the device model in phones settings shows listed as GT19505.
ROM works fine, phone dialer functions but I read that I should update the radio firmware. I have had a call or two drop off with no ringing sound but call is apparently going through but I can not hear person on receiving end.
So what baseband modem firmware do I update to? The true hardware i337z or the GT19505 that the phone is working as? I went from Kit Kat 4.4.2 to Marshmallow 6.0..
Baseband Version after installing CM13 jfltexx remains the original i337ztuuboa3. Everything else has changed to reflect CM13 ROM. Build, Kernal etc.
I'm baffled so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm suffering the very some issue and few others.
Just noticed that my present baseband is I9505XXUGNF1.
I've downloaded the I9505XXUHOJ2_I9505ITVHOJ1_ITV nd extracted both modem.bin and NON-HLOS.bin and flashed using Heimdall on OSX via cli.
But the phone is still reporting the old BB number.
You need to flash i337z model's RIL files & Modem. Don't know where you will get that but that's what you need to flash for sure..

Thanks. I'll search around. Problem with calls is few
Few. I say 5 % of time usually when I'm going from one area to another so I'm not certain I want to mess up phone. Couple of questions, I am using latest modem for phone as far as I know, bought it in Oct 15,and Cricket has no new update beyond 4.4.4. Are you positive it will not mesd
To flash should I use existing TWRP recovery, Odin. for those file types? I'm guessing Odin.
Once again thanks for your help
