Hello, I am have an odd behavior with peel smart remote. I have comcast digital cable here and set up the remote and it works EXCEPT for the number 4 digit. most of my good channels are between channels 400 and 460 and if I click on a show on channel 430, the app will only select "30" , Even when clicking on the number pad, all the numbers work except for the number 4. i tried it with all the cable boxes and same results. The number 4 simply does not work.
I can go through the TV guide and select a channel in 400's with the directional buttons no issues.
This does not help answer your question as I am not using Peel. However, when I checked Data usage on my S6 this morning, I discovered that Peel had consumed almost a half Gig of data. I went into the App manager and cleared cache, data, uninstalled updates, and disabled the app. No point in keeping active an app like that, consuming the data that it does, that I don't even use. Wow!

I was having an issue with Peel and rebooted my phone, problem went away. It was right after the most recent update. I know this is probably a silly questio, but have you tried rebooting?

My problem has solved itself, it was just a bug in the app. There has been 2 updates since my OP and the first one solved the #4 issue but broke my peel widgets. The second update solved that.

Been thinking about getting a Touch Pro but my buddy has a Fuze and it won't show web pages in Opera or IE. It gives an error exactly like what this guy is experiencing, http://www.htcwiki.com/thread/2214127/HTC+Fuze+Internet+fails+6-12+hours+after+soft+reset?t=anon
I went to the AT&T store and both of the display models do the same thing. Went to the Sprint store and there display model does the same thing! The Touch Diamond sitting next to the Touch Pro at the Sprint store worked just fine. I tried the trick that apparently worked for some people in that thread on my buddies phone of holding down the hangup/disconnect button for 3+ seconds, the little colorful spinny ball comes on screen and then goes away but still can't get to the internet, same error. Same thing with the phone in the Sprint store.
What gives? How can all these TPs be having this problem but few others are complaining about it?
I dont know whats wrong with all of the Touch Pros you have used but mine is great... always shows any webpage the only complaint is the pages take a few seconds to render when you scroll
yeah mine works great and has since the beginning he probably hasnt set up his data correctly and usually display models dont do anything
never had a problem on mine. and i use opera, ie, opera mini, skyfire, iris
Yes, I have the same problem! After 16+ hours, email/weather in TF3D etc. are all working but browsers/google maps cannot access internet.
I have to switch off/on my data and everything starts working again.
I have AT&T Fuze with stock rom and radio.
Another thing, whenever I restart my phone, it asks for the password to connect to media.net, I have leave it blank, check save password and hit ok everytime.

no, these are fully working phones, not just the dummy phones, the Samsung next to one of them at the AT&T store worked fine, the Blackberry next to the other one worked fine, but both Fuzes couldn't load webpages but otherwise worked, like I could launch apps and everything. The guys at the AT&T store couldn't figure out why it wasn't working either, said something about his manager had to call tech support to get it working since it was a store phone and he wasn't authorized to call tech support for it.
and like I said at the sprint store the diamond sitting next to the touch pro worked just fine but the touch pro coudlnt' get to webpages.
My buddies phone I think works for e-mail, think he has exchange setup.

I've never had a problem with it. Full web pages using opera. But I don't use my phone for that very often. If I want to get on the web I just tether, it's faster and easier.

You can go to settings, communications, and then switch off data connection. Or Start-menu, settings, network, wireless manager.

yes, phone also works fine, apart from mail/sms etc. It is just the browsers and the apps that cannot connect.
Did you try disable or enable hidden proxy? I've been having a weird problem with a custom ROM that I made and after a hard reset I have to use one or the other to get the internet to work again.

all the other phones in the Sprint and AT&T stores are real phones and work fine, I went to the internet on the HTC Touch Diamond sitting two feet away and a Samsung Instinct accross the store at Sprint, and went to the web on a Motorla (or something) phone sitting next to the Fuze at the AT&T store. Best Buy has fake phones out so obviously couldn't check there.

how do I do that? I tried to click disable on the proxy in opera:config but it seems to autoenable it's self again.
I have this problem, too! I thought it was just my account on AT&T that has this problem (my MeidaNet page also does not work) but it might be a bigger problem in AT&Ts network. It isn't just the FUZE that does this, my Tilt did it, too. I do not remember if my Black Jack did or not.
This happens to me EXACTLY when my data connection time goes over 24 hours. I have to close my data connection to fix it. Not a HUGE issue, but would be nice if it was resolved. I think default end key hold behavior is to end the data connection, so that's why it works.
If my data connection sits idle for too long something like that happens occasionally for me...
but nothing a quick 'disable/enable data' cant fix.
I also dont use stock roms, I had the Fuze stock ROM for 2 days before i flashed it (wanted to do my research on flashing before I did it, also wanted a 'control' for when i swapped phones)
Lets face it. All devices have bugs upon release that the normal person won't care about nor think of it as a bug. This device has it's share but as a reminder. There is no software bug that can't be fixed. By the way, make sure you don't skip the initial setup and if you did just wipe and restore.
1) Some are having a problem when using WiFi. There 4G or 3G data is not turning off and instead of your device using WiFi to exchange data it is using your 4G or 3G data. If you turn WiFi on and don't see a 4G/3G icon in the notification area then your device is working properly in this department.
The Fix: There is three "My Account" apps on our devices and there causing a conflict when 2 or more is running at the same time. To fix this you need to delete all of them (I used Root Explorer). If you use "My Account" you can download the current version from the market. Next, freeze or delete WiFi calling and the T-Mobile app pack. After you have deleted everything you have to reboot your device. Note: While deleting or freezing some of these, you might get some looping force closes. Just simply remove your battery to reboot the device and once it reboots the force closing will be gone.
2) Some are having a problem when moving from cell tower to cell tower. If you are losing a data signal every once in a while but the 4G/3G icon is still showing in the notification area, you need to do the fallowing.
The Fix: Go into your Mobile Network settings and make sure your device is setup to automatically use GSM/WCDMA. Then click on search for networks and at this point you will see T-Mobile UMTS, T-Mobile GSM and ATT GSW. After they appear click on select automatically. While your at it go ahead and click on data roaming since T-Mobile has contracts with other providers so your able to roam on there towers. Don't worry, you won't be charged for roaming since T-Mobile only charges for international roaming. After all this do a reboot.
Some of you think that there is a problem with your battery if your device is showing your "cell standby" above 30%. This is not a problem. Every time you charge your G2X it will reset usage percentages as you know. Well if you emediatly start using your phone and don't put it down for 2 hours than I promise you that your display will be at the top of the list. Obviously if your device stays off for a little bit and upon waking it you look at your battery statistics your going to see Cell standby and Phone idle at the top since the display was off. If your wandering why Cell Standby is using more juice than WiFi it's because when you turn your display off it automatically sleeps your WiFi.
The percentages in your batter statistics need to add up to 100%-105% and something is going to use more than the rest depending on what your doing with your device after removing it from charge. Ask yourself this. If my G2X is in my pocket for 1 hour after removing it from it's charger. What would I like to see using most of my battery? I can tell you right now. Certainly not your display since it's been off the entire time.
There's only one MyAccount app on the phone. I looked myself in the System/app folder. If you see multiple MyAccounts in a task manager it is just another instance of the same application.
Also there's NOTHING wrong with Wifi Calling or My Account. I have both on and use them extensively. My phone has gone now 26hrs without a reboot or hitch of heavy usage. Wifi works, 3G/4G works perfectly. I don't have any issues right now...until the next reboot
Want to give people another perspective since you don't have to give up MyAccount or Wifi caling to have a usable phone.

Thats WHY you don't have any problems. Because you only have 1 "MyAccount" application. Those of us that had 2 or 3 have the problems. By the way I had 3 and no they weren't showing in task manager. They were all deleted using Root Explorer.
Where did you see them? They were all in system/app??!?
Odd how they could all exist together - were they named differently?

Yes, different version numbers and branding included in the apks. I had 2, version 1 and version 5.x.
OP, for some reason when I try Search Networks I get: "Error while searching for networks." Any ideas?

They all existed in the system folder. It seemed like instead of the new versions updating the existing app, they were just creating new files. Your right, it is odd but I can see how that would create a problem.

Hi all,
I am having an issue with my Nexus 5 using huge amounts of my mobile data (T-Mobile) when connected to wifi even when I'm not using it. What's crazy is that this keeps happening almost exclusively between 2-6am when I'm not awake. It also happens to an even further extent when I'm connected to wifi at work and not using my phone either. Heres a breakdown:
11/12 5:48 AM - 27.57 MB
11/13 3:33 AM - 12.42 MB
11/14 5:15 AM - 14.21 MB
11/12 2:53 PM - 49.57 MB
11/13 2:39 PM - 27.97 MB
I called T-Mobile and they said that it shows that I definitely used my data during those times. I have almost nothing running in the background that uses any data and have turned off my GPS to see if that will help.
Anyone else having the same problems or have any advice?
Thanks,
Chris
Only thing that comes to mind is that your wifi connection is being dropped for some reason, and your phone switches to mobile data instead.
About why data is being used at that time, it is very likely that there are some apps that are using background data - you may have disabled this for a bunch of apps, but may have missed some.
Check data usage under settings to see if you can identify the culprit (you can use the sliders to narrow down - though it doesn't seem to let you narrow down to a specific timeframe)

I may be mistaken, but I don't think you can do that on stock ROM at least. If WiFi is available, it will always try to use WiFi
For whatever reason, if you want to use Mobile data, you will need to turn WiFi off.
If you always want to use mobile data for a given app or want to use mobile data in a specific time range, you could use tasker app to set up a profile to disable WiFi when that app is launched (or in that time range)

Thanks. I did check last night to see what apps were using the most data and it was by far feedly but I'm not sure why that would be using data when I'm not awake. Does anyone else have that problem with feedly? Isn't it also strange that it keeps happening at roughly the same times every day?
Also wanted to add that I came from a Galaxy S2 running Cyanogen and never had this issue.

I just checked my gf's Galaxy Young...in there when you go to WIFI and access Advanced and there you can set Wifi Sleep policy.
The options I got are "When screen turns off", "Never when plugged in" and "Never"...not really the options I'd imagine for this =)

Did you check settings on your feedly? It sounds like it does a daily sync which some RSS readers I'd imagine would do.
I don't have feedly on my phone, but if it has some decent settings it should have one to sync only via wifi or similar.

Yea I checked the feedly settings section and there isn't anything related to sync. The app actually only refreshes when it's opened. For now I went into the "data usage" section on my phone and selected "Restrict background data" for the app. Hopefully that works.

It actually gets even crazier. Last night before I went to bed I turned off my mobile data by going to setting>data usage and it still shows at 5:19 AM that I used 43 MB of data. I mean the only explanation I could think of is I'm sleep walking and using my phone lol. I called T-Mobile and it definitely shows on their end I did use the data at that time. They also couldn't help me because they don't have the phone yet. Can't believe that no one else is having this problem. Guess I have to contact Google which should be really useful smh.
I used an app, or rather, a Tasker Plugin called AutoLocation. This is the first app of its kind that uses the Android Fused location service to determine whether you're inside or outside a circle called Geofence. I first used it on Nexus 4 running android 4.3. I had 3 Geofences defined. Two to remind me to exit a highway at different locations to run errands. The 3rd one to send an SMS to say I'm close to home. They worked flawlessly, I mean flawlessly. The trigger was instantaneous, accurate and repeatable.
Then I got my Nexus 5. This App simply did not work. I worked directly with the developer in different controlled manners and none was able to reproduce the result that I was used to. I could be in the middle of the geofence and the app had no idea where I was. And in some cases it finally decided that I was inside but it would randomly exit repeatedly even though I never left the circle. For reference, the radius was set to 3Km. I have determined that it was Kit Kat that killed the app.compatibility issue. Let's be patient and time may fix it.
Then my Nexus 4 got the Kit Kat upgrade. I did the identical setup as the Nexus 5 and guess what, it just worked without having to mug around with anything. It worked exactly the same as when it was running 4.3.
I said to myself, Kit Kat on Nexus 5 is not identical as Kit Kat on Nexus 4. Let's wait a little more. 4.4.1 came, 4.4.2 came, Google Play Service 4.1 came, Google Play Service 4.2 came. Still not working.
There is now a new app in town called Geofence Memo which is a self contained app without having to have tasker installed. May be it was the app after all. Same test on nexus 4 and nexus 5. It worked on Nexus 4 but not Nexus 5.
Last resort. May be, just may be it was hardware issue. Bought myself a Red Nexus 5. Same.
HELPPPPPPP
Well I guess we should get the obvious out of the way.
1) What did you already do? Especially when you were working with the dev.
2) What ROM are you using? Are you running any task "killing" apps like greenify, or clean master?
3) Location settings, what are they? High Accuracy? Also, have tried toggling scanning always available (WiFi settings -> 3 dots -> Advance)?
Sorry if you tried all these already, but getting the obvious out of the way is sometimes necessary as it reminds us to double check things we may have forgotten to check, especially if you get forgetful like I do in my old young age.

100% stock ROM. No root, no task killing app. I've tried factory reset and have just the one app installed, absolutely nothing else. That was back in November last year. When I received my red nexus 5 I did the same thing again. Same result. I've tried setting location to high accuracy, battery savings and device only. I also tried enabling allow scanning with WiFi off. Nothing works. Meanwhile my old Nexus 4 which my daughter uses works flawlessly.

Does this GPS issue apply to you? That thread may help you if it isn't an isolated GPS issue (i.e., A GPS issue not isolated to your GEO Fencing app).
I hard reset my phone a few weeks ago. At some point since then I started getting full screen ads for Wish at various points through the day. It would be there when I turned the screen on two or three times a day. I changed some Bluetooth Auto Connect settings and got rid of that, but instead about twice a day when I turn the screen on the internet browser has opened with a new tab showing an article or advert I didn't ask for. I was using Samsung Mobile so I uninstalled it and switched to the stock Chrome, then I disabled it and tried Firefox. I've tried pop up blockers. I've scanned with the stock virus scanner (Avast) as well as AVG and MalwareBytes. They found nothing. The only thing that stops these pop ups is disabling Chrome and not having any other web browsers installed! Clearly that's not the best solution. I don't want to reset my phone again so soon. What else can I try?

Intriguing. I've had a quick look at the literature, it's going to take some time to figure out how to do that. Would I need to be connected to Wireshark when the problem occurs?

Have you tried disabling JavaScript to see if the ads still appear?
I recently started using FOSS Browser from F-Droid (downloaded via F-Droid application), and have not had any problems with it. Maybe give it a shot?

Actually, it didn't. As of yesterday the pop ups resumed and at slightly higher frequency.
I'm sorry that the pop-ups have returned, @TransformsIntoAGuitar. I hope you find out what/why is causing the pop-ups.
