Hello to the Forum
I am new on the Forum i do not know exactly how it works Please excuse me
I have a SAMSUNG 8500 with Bada
I would like to suppress Bada and replace it with ANDROID Kitkat 4.4;4
I Tried the procedure listed in the Topic ROM][WIP][NAND] Omni 4.4 - 11.12.2014
i could Flash Bootfiles Startkernel and FOTA with Multiloader
i do not understand the following and I do not want to have my Phone Bricked ! - -
Do I have to proceed the Android recovery immediately after that step Before loading the SDCard ?
ROM means the Android File ? Where can I get this ROM ?
What Does it mean > choose zip with ROM ?
Do you have to set the Phone in - DOWN LOAD MODE to make this procedure - vol low -+ camera + power ?
Thank you in advance for your Help - Georges
I'm not sure about the procedure you followed but did you -
1. Flash a custom recovery.?
2. Wipe data and cache.?
A ROM is the OS (operating system like KitKat lollipop and so on) you need a custom recovery like clockwork mod to flash a ROM. You even need to unlock the boot loader on some phones. It's best if you ask in your device forum. Or such for the stuff I mentioned. I'll list them for you again.
1. Unlocking the boot loader (your phone may not need it too, searching for it over us good)
2. Rooting
3. Custom recovery
4.a ROM (you need a custom ROM to install right.? xD search for cyanogenmod)
MAKE SURE TO PROPERLY BACKUP YOUR STOCK ROM BEFORE FLASHING OTHER ROMS.
Happy flashing and leave a thanks

Hi Experts,
I want to upgrade my samsung galaxy note GT-N7000.
After reading on how to install custom rom to N7000. I tried one of the way to install the Custom Rom using Install from Zip using SD card.
Steps i have performed to install custom rom are mentioned below:
1. I have install one app to root my phone.
2. Checked with the help of MD5File checkup to confirm that my phone is rooted or not and found that my phone has been rooted.
3. I have gone to developer option and checked USB Debugging.
4. I have not installed any backup tool for the current recovery.
5. i have copied the N7000 CWM Nightly rom which is for KitKat, but it failed in the verification and errored with Status 7.
6. Then with some other roms its failing in status 6.
8. At last one rom Slimsaber got passed in the verification and removed the current rom but while installing or mounting its rom it failed....(This action is performed using Install using Zip from SD Card)
Result was that my phone got hung on the logo. But some how i managed to installed one korean rom on the phone which was having a older version i.e. 4.0.3 and its update was not available so i got my phone updated with the stock rom of 4.1.2 version from samsung store. So now its back to where i have started
Query:
1. Is that the reason i have not installed a custom recovery tool for the existing rom in case the new rom fails (I have missed 4th point: Is there any best app that backup for current stock rom)
Request:
1. Can you guys please tell me which is the ROM that works for N7000 India version for Kitkat and Lollipop(If available)
2. Please suggest the rom that works with Odin because i have bad exp with installing from SDcard. If possible please provide a link for that tar file.
Really appreciate your support and thanks in advance.

You should install/flash a custom recovery and make a complete system (nandroid) backup directly in the custom recovery.
There are some other apps, which can create an Online Nandorid backup (just check Play store), but some apps are not compatible with all devices and to restore such a backup, you will need a custom (CWM or TWRP) recovery anyway.
To get best advices about custom recovery, ROMs, etc. for your device, please ask in the Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [FAQ] [Q&A] [Noob Friendly] HELP THREAD - POST ALL YOUR SUPPORT QUESTIONS HERE thread.
P.S.: To install/flash a custom ROM provided as zip file, you usually need a custom recovery. Stock recovery only flashed signed zip file (e.g. official OTA update files from Samsung).
Thread closed and thank you.
So, the situation is I have moto g xt1033 with :- unlocked bootloader, rooted, stock rom 4.4.4 kitkat (i mean no custom rom). and fastboot flash mode 41.13 2014-06-16 and philz touch 6 clockworkmod v6.0.4.7
I want to know how to update to lollipop with official OTA update (not manually or sideloaded)?
Why I am asking this?
I got the prompt of official OTA available on my phone and then i clicked yes and downloaded the update. But when i clicked on install, it went in bootloop. It boots on the philz recovery mode and then nothing happens just restart again whatever i select.
As of now, as I backed up, I recovered to the before state of the phone. Do I need to lock the bootloader again or what? The official OTA update is not for me? Then how to get lollipop? I read the soak test etc threads but why not official update ?
Locking the bootloader won't do anything,so don't lock it
Ota update requires:
1.Stock firmware(unmodified and unchanged or tampered)
2.unrooted
3.Stock recovery
That probably happend becuZ your KitKat firmware was modified and you have custom recovery,root..
So just reflash the stock firmware
Do that on your own risk as failing this might brick your phone
Thank me if I helped
Thanks mate for reply.
1. I have stock firmware KK 4.4.4 (though xposed framework & few modules are installed currently)
2. Rooted
3. What is stock recovery? (m noob here)
And i guess reflashing the stock firmware wipes out all user data & apps, right?
Any other alternative which does not wipes out my data?

Actually there is no other way you could do it
i tried everything i could to stop the wipe procedure but it obviously wiped everything
you just backup everything you have got on your internal and external sd card ..
1.Stock Recovery:: Android devices come with Google’s recovery environment, which is often referred to as the “stock recovery.” You can boot to the recovery system by pressing device-specific buttons as your phone or tablet boots or by issuing an adb command that boots your device to recovery mode. The recovery menu provides options to help recover your device — for example, you can reset your device to its factory default state from here. The recovery mode can also be used to flash OTA update files.
2.Custom Recovery::A custom recovery is a third-party recovery environment. Flashing this recovery environment onto your device replaces the default, stock recovery environment with a third-party, customized recovery environment. This is a bit like flashing a custom ROM like CyanogenMod — but, instead of replacing your device’s Android operating system, it replaces the recovery environment.
what you have to do is:
Find the Kitkat official update on the internet accrouding to your [Build number],[model number] [system version] you can get this information in about phone....
If you have asia retail then follow this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2700502
ok Here what i am planning:
1. Uninstall all modules & xposed framework
2. Unroot using supersu
3. Restore/reflash stock recovery (just recovery not whole firmware as I already have stock rom)
4. Install the update either manually via recovery or using auto install.
Am i on right path? Pls help me on step 3, any link or step-t-step guide? I couldn't find one, every post is abt restoring whole firmware.
TIA. Cheers !!
I have some basic question abt customROM
1.When you install customROM, does it change/recreate the partitions in previous ROM stockROM/Custom) or it just installs the ROM in the existing partitions (like windows)
2.What is ROMSlot, is it someting like MBR in windows ?
3.Is there any customROM that will unlock the bootloader for me and install itself.
4.Does cynogenMod works in ANY DEVICE (i.e. Chinese )
Hi there,
Flashing ROM will not change your partition table.
Flashing ROM won't unlock your bootloader, its the complete opposite, your bootloader needs to be unlocked to flash a custom rom
CyanogenMod is made for each device separately. If it's available for your device, you can install it.
Read more about that here: [HOW TO] Beginners Guide to Android ROM Development from this forum Chef Central -> Android
Good luck

Hello..
I think ist better for you to install a custom recovery frist
after that you can make a nandroid backup using the custom recovery...this is important..because you will messed up..it will event android guru messed up their device once a whaile..
after you have the nandroid backup..you can flash any custom ROM for your devices..to find a devices please use the search bar at the top..
after you gain enough knowlage to build a custom ROM you can compile it for your devices..but for starter I highly recommend you to use any custom ROM for your device first
cherees
Thanks for your reply brother.
I wanted to know if it is possible to change the version of android
By cyanogenmod or custom rom
If you could, could you give me a tip
How to do or tutorial something that helps?
First what is your device ? I think everybody have to start somewhere, so I have to know what is your device and see what is available for it.
But similar process for most of the cases ; root your device (try one click root like king root app or if it doesn't work try other methods for your device) then flash a custom recovery (TWRP) , into it you would be able to install (flash) custom Roms , and when it's done, just download the custom ROM , the Gapps according to the custom ROM Android version and your device architecture and then boot to recovery, make a Nandroid backup (backup everything in TWRP) then wipe system, data, cache, and delavik cache , flash the ROM, flash the Gapps and reboot.
But all the process (rooting, custom recovery etc) depends of your device
Is the galaxy lite 3 wanted to put the version
4.4.2 or +
Only that it does not exist nowhere, this custom or cyanogenmod
That's why I came here.
Way of having and making one or modifying it
