Looks good but still missing a few basic features. App also force closes a lot on my Droid X.

These are a few gripes I have with the app, the first one being the most important:
When going through the library of artists, once you pick an artist you are taken to all songs by the artist and not to a list of the albums by the artist. Sometimes when pressing the back button, the app closes to the homescreen instead of showing the previous screen. If you're playing a song and are browsing your playlist, album list, etc. there's no quick way to return to the player screen that shows the current song that's playing.

I agree, that's a biggie.

I just upload a video of the app to youtube. It is my first video so dont expect pro stuff Just a video of fingering around with PowerAmp

This is definitely the best audio player I've seen on any mobile device, PERIOD!

I picked this up and I really like it so far. The ui is great even though there are a few oddities still. When selecting an mp3 from Astro it goes to the player but it doesn't play the file I just selected...the player comes up with the last song that was being played. Still messing with it though and it looks great so far.

i think one feature that would make this a killer music player... that if its possible to restrict musics off one folder (eg. "Music") in the root of SD... this way i dont have to listen to machine gun and other android game sound fx on my media player... veryyy annoying..!!!!

hah..we are thinking about how to make it come true.

I tried RockPlayer2 out for a little bit. I ultimately settled on MX Player. MX Player appeared to offer smoother playback for my HD MKV files AND it supports subtitles far better 9embedded and external).....just my 2 cents when I tried out both Players on my SGS3 today.

Thanks for trying RockPlayer2， cause we rewrote decode engine , we still need more time to optimize for different phones to make it better . The subtitle support , we have just finish the code of better support , we will push it in several days with some other amazing features, so please give me more time .

And I have a request: I have several albums, where the song's artist does not match the album artist (see screenshot), because it includes some kind of "feat. XY". For example, the album artist has been tagged as Five Finger Death Punch, whereas some tracks have an "feat. XY" in its artist tag. Therefore your player lists each song with "feat. XY" as by a separate artist (which is absolutely correct, as it uses the artist tag) with its individual album, despite the fact that all songs are from the same album. For me this is quite annoying, I would like to have all songs sorted by the overall album artist Five Finger Death Punch. The album artist tag is part of the ID3.2 tag, so I would ask you if it is possible to include another tab for album artists.

This works great. Just out of curiosity, does it keep the file segments it downloads somewhere in a cache (location?) or are they deleted, and if are they deleted, is it as the file is playing and old segments are deleted, or once the video file is closed or the app is closed?

This is such a good app. Why is development stopped on this? I recently bought an Android TV and this app is a lifesaver. There are some bugs that need to be fixed but otherwise, I am quite happy with this. I would love the developer to restart the work on this. I am also happy to donate if needed.

External storage usage
Hi! Thank you for the app. It's the best torrent player I have used on Android.
I use it regularly on my xiaomi mi box. It would be nice to use external storage to buffer the video file (or at least making it an option) as this kind of devices have very short amount of storage.

Hello and thanks for the new update.But unfortunately subtitles still doesn't work I tested on a video through stremio.When i played Matrix,i pressed to find subtitles (Only subtitles org seemed to work) but when i press,nothing happens.

The new update is amazing. Torrents definitely load much faster and now we finally have the option to remove already watched items so on Android TV the storage error doesn't pop up anymore. Well done.

[Bug Report] SMB Missing

Thank you for the continued work on MX Player, SMB is a user-centered feature that I am grateful to have!
With the latest old versions (before 1.35) I'm not able to access SMB in the TV interface. Using a hand held remote will not navigate properly from the homescreen anymore. Also, pressing left on a remote within context menus like view and help will exit the app. Hopefully, this version of the Ui will not be left behind while the rest of the app continues to grow.

I can also confirm the 2 bugs descriped above on an Android-TV:
1. not possible to add a SMB share - there's simply no menu for this available
2. navigating to left while in submenus closes the app

you can say something about when the SMB Share function for the Andoid TV version (NvidiaTV Shield) is to be expected from MX Player or when it will be implemented.
Would like to be wide for this feature to buy the Pro version.

MX version 1.21 does not have any of these navigation bugs and allows access to SMB. Would be nice to have these in the updated version! :fingers-crossed:

I can confirm, that the latest versions don't have the local network option.
I hope that this feature comes back with an update.

The latest version is 1.34.0

The homescreen of MX Player on androidTV is fixed! Local network can be reached again!
There are some quirks with recent versions (1.35.0), specifically during playback
⦿ The "rewind 10s" button can't be reached without touchscreen
⦿ Navigating from right to left along the bottom row of buttons doesn't work as expected; selection will leave the bottom row and jump into the progress bar, causing video to leap back or forward
⦿ Black bars along top & bottom of letterbox video removed when using HW+ decoder, stretching the video height
⦿ More of a plea than a bug, but changing "key up/down action" to brightness has no effect on androidTV. It's not uncommon for TV users to find they have been accidentally using reduced volume in MX for a length of time. An option to disable key up/down would be useful

Local Network (SMB) is not displayed on the NVIDIA TV Shield, MX Player 1.35 version, so back to the 1.20 beta.
