Help| Typing ghost types - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so, as a oneplus proud owner, this kind of really bothers me.
whenever i type something on, for example, swiftkey, it never types what i wanted.
what do i mean?
trying to type: "hello everyone! please help me solve this"
ending up with: " heel ovaries! pl eas hell ,ess olve"
it feels kind of smudgy and as if im not typing but it types on its own.
updated to last cm12.1 nightly, rumors say the ghost touches gone.
any ideas?
im kind of frustrated.

Fuze on-screen keyboards

Hey, this is only my second post here. I kinda feel like a leech since all I ever do is look around and try to gain some knowledge for myself.
But I was hoping nobody would mind and maybe try for some help.
Anyways, I tried doing some searching through the forums but couldn't find anything on this.
About a week or two ago I just updated my fuze to the htc 5.11.502.2 rom.
Besides the stupid problem of texts not getting marked read I have found another weird little problem.
My on screen keyboards are a little messed up.
When I goto "Phone Keypad" (whether it be for SMS or anything else) it brings up the keypad and looks how it is supposed to. Although whenever I click a button to try and spell something out... well it does not give me a letter at all, just the number associated with that button.
Then if I goto select my "compact qwerty" keyboard it does the same thing. brings up the keyboard and i see the letters, but whenever I hit a letter it types a number instead.
then sometimes it will actually show the numbers... but the "ABC" box will be greyed out and i wont be able to select it.
yeah i know i suck for using the htc roms, but i never really wanted to put the effort into looking for a custom rom, there are so many choices i didn't even bother looking. i would have gone crazy because there are so many choices and i am a very indecisive person.
so anyways. do i have to hard reset? or is there some quick fix i can do?

Google Now Search Misses First Character

Hi Everyone
One of the great (IMO) features of the transformer is that when docked you can just bash away at the keyboard in the springboard to reveal results.
For example if I type "Jones" it would bring up contacts on the right with the name Jones
If I typed Engadget it would search google for that, all of this without me pressing a key
I loved it.
I took the plunge with CM10 and now if I choose to do this it chucks me straight into google now, which I don't mind except for this one problem...
I'm quite a quick typist so when, for example, I type "Engadget" what happens is that the first "E" gets inputted but then the cursor somehow goes to the left of it so I end up with this "ngadgetE"
If i do it slow i get way with it, but im so used to doing it quickly that it's doing my head in the search with the keyboard was one of the things of beauty with this system and or some reason it's just kicking me out each time.
If i've not explained this well enough I apologise, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and if they managed to fix it ?
Thanks guys and girls.

I have this same problem... I feel like most people don't use the keyboard because it is so expensive. This is a major cripple of the device, if you ask me. I have been dealing with this for what feels like months, and just started looking for a solution. I am running stock firmware, and I assumed it was because I needed to perform a factory reset. Unfortunately, that had no effect whatsoever. Just caused a lot of wasted time on my part. I am considering CM10, but now I am weary. I also wonder if I would lose out on a bunch of hardware-specific drivers and whatnot. That tends to happen on the custom Android builds off of AOSP.

Your mind can think faster then your fingers can keep up with. At least on the smaller sized keyboard of the Transformer. It's a symptom of ADHD, One that in fact I enjoy, as it lets me type faster then my coworkers, and I have busted tendons in my left hand.
Actually a lot of what is happening to you is that when you are typing, your fingers "glide" across the keys, and in that you inadvertently perform a differing function causing the curser to return to home. Remember you have 3 things going at once. Your brain typing, your fingers typing, and the keyboard trying to get it all to show up on the screen.
And yes life is REALLY bad when you have a studder. While I can say that 99% of us that have a verbal studder also have a dexterity studder to go along with it. Thank God for backspace.

FYI, this is simply a bug with Google Now on the Transformer series... It might be that Google wasn't expecting so much lag to exist on a device when they coded it... The system definitely caches/buffers the keyboard input, because every letter pops up on the search--just the first one doesn't get inserted until the system catches up, (the cards load in Google Now.) The first letter isn't ALWAYS at the end--it just depends how long*you type.

Quirks since updating

Any help would be appreciated changing these changes since going to 4.1. stock phone, non rooted.
1. CB#. Never got these before, now I do. Amazingly annoying for such a small thing, but if it can be eliminated, I'd appreciate the knowledge
2. Predictive text. Previously, it auto corrected my horrible spelling mistakes. At times it was annoying as it would change things to words that didn't even make sense. Now, It does nothing. Gives me the option to add a butchered word to my custom dictionary (really cool feature), but I liked it when I had to go back and fix less words that it misunderstood as opposed to fix every word because of my fast typing and mistypes.
That's it for now, but again, would love any help you can offer.

#1- Haven't seen a way to stop those. They are sent by the sender as part of the message. You can turn off sending yours to them.
#2- Install another keyboard.

Need a device for silent and discreet messaging in dimly lit rooms?......

Ok, so I know this sounds weird but I've been searching for months now and then it suddenly hit me that I should ask on XDA!!!
I'm working with spa/wellness center and basically, they need a way to get messages to the therapists while they're in treatment with clients., things like "you're next client is running late so take your time" or "you've overrun, please finish the treatment asap, your next client is here" etc. It could be an abbreviation based system if the text length is an issue?
It's usually dimly lit rooms and it needs to be something discrete (silent) but still visible without being obtrusive - we don't want the client to think a therapist is texting while doing a massage etc. Sort of along the lines of a Doctor's paging system. It could also be just one way (therapists don't really need to respond, purely a notification system).
Can any my fellow XDA'ers think if any elegant way to do this? It could be via wifi, even bluetooth. I was wondering about the various smartwatches/fit bit style devices but know very little about them.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Bumpage. Anyone got any ideas?

Keyboard glitch?

I don't mean to sound weird but has anyone else experienced this " anomaly"?
When I am texting and I am focusing on being concise and thoughtful in the wordage I am using, if I pause to contemplate , the moment I conceive the next word the keyboard will type first letter of the word without me physically touching the keyboard.
I know how this sounds but it happens frequently ( like 5 to 10 times a day) .
I don't have predictive or suggested next word enabled and I don't speak when It happens. It just happens and it's kind of freaking me out.
Is it possibly the 5g tech? It's happening enough I want to figure out why.
