I have a Verizon Galaxy S3 with an unlocked bootloader. I am having trouble restoring the backups i have made. Everytime i try to restore one it goes to boot but hangs on the boot logo. I have tried clearing cache, delvac cache, data, factory reset. Can someone please help me. I have ClockWordMod custom recovery installed.

because you need to wipe(factory reset) when flashing different roms. when you upgrade the same rom, you dont have to wipe.
i have and its still not working do i need to wipe cahce to

wiping data(factory reset) should take care of that. wipe, flash rom, flash gapps(if needed), and reboot. thats all.
done all that still gets stuck at the loading screen
ok got one to flash i did a cache wipe to and it seem to work ty

I'm not sure why, but sometimes when I flash a recovery and reboot into recovery from ROM Manager, I get the same thing. But if I flash, then power off and boot into recovery using volume+powerUp, it works fine.
Hey Guys,
so I've been a lurker on the forums and on reddit for months now. I decided to root my phone today (was on 2.3.6) and flash the CM9 Alfa18... So I did everything as explained in the step-by-step guides. I wiped all data/factory reset then flashed CM9...
On reboot, my phone is stuck on the Google Logo..
I can get to ClockworkMod Recovery v.3.0.0.0 but I don't know what to do from here on to get my phone working again
I tried wipe data/factory reset to no avail.
Can anyone tell me what to do now?

thats an old clockwork recovery. you need either clockwork recovery 5.x.x.x or the latest twrp recovery. try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988686&highlight=recovery
OK sounds like a bad download. Redownload the rom and within clockwork mod u can mount to your computer and transfer files. Put the rom on your SD card and flash it again make sure u re wipe everything see if that works.

K so I thought it was a bad download as well so I downloaded Nexus MV 2.12.25 with GAPPS_ICE_4.0.3, and flashed again!
WORKS!!!
Thanks for your help guys. I think my problem was the outdated Recovery, or maybe bad CM9 download. Maybe both? lol
Thanks again!
Your CWM version wasn't compatible anymore. Had the same problem. Glad your phone works again.

whats important is that youve got it running now
So I tried CM7 and liked it a lot. But out of curiosity, I tried restoring my stock ROM which I backed up before installing CM7 with Clockworkmod.
Now I used the restore option and the process went through successfully.
So I reboot and I see the white "Samsung GALAXY Ace GT-5830D" text...and that's it. It's stuck there.
I tried it at least 5 times also using a copy of the backup I had on my PC. No luck.
What can I do?
Thanks
did you wipe everything?

I found a ROM that's from Telus (I'm with Koodo which is owned by Telus) and restored it with Odin but now it just boots endlessly...

Edit: Scratch that, I got it working.
Still sad that I can't get my stock ROM back though
I was able to restore my stock ROM from the Telus one...but now it says my SIM is unregistered...
Oh well, I guess I'll just go back to either Telus or CM7.
Can you see if you have the same stock ROM as the one from here?
I used this one and got back to Koodo but the phone is locked again.
I just had to unlock it again but all the Koodo boot animation and wallpapers are there.

I have an att htc one x that has 4.01 and 2.20 software. I was able to successfully root the phone and now I'm trying to install CM10 but it's failing when trying to install.
It says it missing a MD5 File and says theres an error in the SD card/download/ the cm 10 file.
What am I doing wrong? Thank you
Make sure the Rom is for our phone and check the md5 sum it might be a bad download
I've tried redownloading the file several times and I'm still getting the same error message.
I'm downloading CM10 from here http://get.cm/?device=endeavoru

Wrong version, endeavoru is the international (Tegra3) One X. Our phone is code named evita.
Just stick to the Development forum here, to avoid flashing ROMs for the wrong version of the One X:

Thanks for the information.
Was able to successfully flash to CM10 but I'm stuck at the CM10 boot screen. Circle going counter clock wise around. What should I do?

If you flashed an international rom, there's a good possibility you messed something up. Factory reset, wipe /system, and try flashing the correct CM10 rom again.
Ok. I'm trying to do a factory reset from bootloader but whenever I do, it goes to the CM10 boot screen where I was earlier. How can I do a factory reset?

A guy I was working with had the boot screen splash. If you've flashed the correct one, then wipe your caches. if that doesn't work reflash.

Don't do it from bootloader, it can corrupt your sdcard. Do it from recovery.
Go into recovery, wipe cache, dalvik cache, factory reset and system. Then install the CORRECT rom.

How can I reflash?
Thanks
-edit-
I was able to get back into TWRP. There I tried to do a factory reset but it tells me it failed. And after installing CM10, do I have to go back into bootloader and flash boot.img from the CM10 nightly zip file?
And there goes my stock rom... Factory reset is not working on TWRP and tried system reset thinking it would get rid of CM10 but instead erased my stock rom.
Please help, need a working phone soon..

There are stickies and tuts around here for this.. but, the reason why it's not working for you is you didn't flash the boot.img first. before you installed the .zip. Also, you'll need the latest gapps for that ROM as well.
Not familiar with the forums around here, so if you could link me some of these stickies or tutorial it would be great.

I have this problem. i went to the thread you posted, loaded TWRP, I've factory reset and what not, but now I'm stuck in TWRP without any real viable options. When I try to reboot to system, it brings me back to TWRP menu.

Do you have a rom flashed? If so, wipe both caches and reboot. If that doesn't work, reflash and do a system wipe from TWRP.

Tried to install custom rom, after installing cwm 6.0.3.1
phone is stuck in galaxy logo, nothing from there
tried different roms, wiped cache, factory reset, dalvick cache.. Nothing!
Suggestions?
I have a P model
I'm pretty sure it's not bricked. Look into reflsahing a stock ROM by using Odin.
