[Completed] Update Trusted CA SSL store in old Android phones such as those running Donut - XDA Assist

I have an old Android phone - Xperia X10 Mini Pro. It works all right but some HTTPS sites such as Facebook or Twitter will not open in it.
The SSL certificates used by these sites are signed against new certificates of Trusted CAs.
Old phones such as the one that I have do not have the certificates of the CAs.
When I browse to these sites using the AOSP browser, I get error dialogs warning. The dialogs allow me to ignore the warning and proceed.
However, I am the author of a web browser app. In such apps, the dialogs are not shown and my app shows an empty page when asked to visit these sites.
Now, the solution I am looking for: Is there a way to install new certificates of the Trusted CAs into my phone. It is rooted. I can go into the file system and write anything anywhere.
How do I updated the certificates store? If I could do this, I could simply ask my users to do the patch themselves and I need not do anything different in my app.

I don't see why you can't get it from your app store. Ifvyour trying to download it from other websites, its probably warez and we don't discuss those on XDA. Paid apps should be paid for, period. Also....warez can often contain viruses.
Good luck!
Thank you. Thread closed.

[Completed] [Q] How to get Apple-Style Emojis on JB

I just bought a Blu Advance 4.0, a simple, cheap Android phone. It runs 4.2 (lastest system I can run), and I've been trying like crazy to replace some system files or something so I can view emoticons in iOS style system-wise, but I just can't figure it out! I found a good, working keyboard (com.qisiemoji.inputmethod in the Play store), but I want to display the iOS style emojis. I actually have OSX, so I can extract the PNGs from the official Apple TTF (as done here before: on github, find /tmm1/emoji-extractor). I've been looking around everywhere, and I just can't find a way to do this yet. Any ideas? (Yep, I'm rooted)

[Completed] Firefox V24 auto open downloads

I have been holding off upgrading FF24 as long as I could, because none of the upgrades were able to open files with no interaction. Example, I get a Google voice message via email, hit play message, it downloads the audio, opens the player and plays it. All the newer versions just download it, and then I must pull up the downloads, and play the message. I tried a few addons and none of them help. Any way to use about:config to accomplish my goal?
Thanks Bob

[Completed] Question about google exoplayer

Hello, I am new to the forum.
I want to run the exoplyer of google (link:https://github.com/google/ExoPlayer) in my android phone Panasonic P55.
Now I have downloaded the source code files of exoplayer but i know nothing about compiling such files.
I have read the instructions in the webpage but it makes no sense to me.
If anyone can please compile the files into an apk file, I will be much much grateful. Thank you in advance.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
I tried compiling as well, but I had some stuff that was out of date, so ExoPlayer didn't import properly.
I would create an account, so you can post in other forums. Then, I would pose the question in the Go to first new post in the > Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Ask Any Question][Newbie Friendly] thread.
Edit. I got it to compile, but it's a demo program, and although it probably has to do with my system configuration, it's very rough around the edges.
By the sounds of the description, it seems to be more for a media framework than a front-end for say, YouTube. Even if it was compiled properly, I don't think it will do what you are looking for. Sorry.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
I think something less sinister than popups and redirects being built into the ROM is going on. The first thing to do is download a root checker app, and make sure you are not rooted without knowing about it (as it will affect the next step).
The other thing to do is a factory reset. Be aware, this will wipe apps downloaded, settings, and in some cases pictures taken and other files downloaded. It will, though, keep the operating system / firmware / ROM intact (which is a good thing).
Once that is done, and basic setup is done, don't install any apps yet. Browse around with the stock browser and see if any of the weirdness has returned. If it hasn't, then congratulations, it was a rouge app. If the weirdness persists, then it could be either a clever rouge app (virus), or you may have been right after all.
If it does persist, then please add a post to this thread:
