I had a rooted Xperia Z1 Compact running KitKat. I got the update within my device for lollipop. It has downloaded and finished but there was error and couldn't update. Then I tried to flash firmware using flashtool and I got error and couldn't finish the flashing process. Since them my phone doesn't start. It only show sony xperia logo and black screen. Flashtool recognize it in flash mode but some error. I'm stuck now and I need your help. Once phone boot, flash tool recognize it connected with USB Debugging off although it was on before I flash it first time. Lollipop firmware was installed from Xperifirm. I have attached screen print showing error from flashtool if it can help.
Same problem

I have the EXACT same problem... The error message is the same, at the same point "Processing of amss_fsg.sin finished".

Fahadam, I did not find a solution to upgrade the firmware, but managed to get my phone working properly again.
I downloaded the version of the firmware corresponding to my Carrier from Xperi firm (the version I used before flashing my device), and excluded every single file except "SYSTEM".
I'm still on Kitkat now but at least I have my phone back
Hope that helps
Solved. I just flashed lollipop firmware excluding everything except system. Now mobile is working having lollipop 5.0.2

First law you won't install a stock firmware on a rooted devices. We know that sony patches latest kernel.

Look Men_in_black007 is 100% correct all you need is a firmware file of latest version
http://www.carbontesla.com/2014/07/ftf-download-11-3-2-33-firmware-update-xperia-e-c1505c1504-generic-uk/
Make sure you have phone charged atleast 50 %
now remove the battery of your phone, reinsert it after 5 sec.
Connect the usb chord to pc now HOLD THE VOLUME UP BUTTON IN PHONE AND THEN CONNECT TO PC.
a green LED will turn up.
In flashtool it will show device connected in flashmode
click on thunder icon.
select flashmode
select were is your ftf file,
keep all option as it is then click flash / ok.
after 2 min. you will see a popup connect your device in flashmode and flashing process will start.
after the flash is complete now you have stock android 4.1.1 jellybean
hit the thanks button if i helped !!!
Hi All,
I tried to update the system software to Lollipop via PC today. in the middle of the update an error occurred saying internet connection was not available (in fact there was no problem with the internet connection). i followed the instruction to re-connect the phone to the PC via the USB cable. now the phone stucks at the Sony Xperia bootup screen and when i connected my phone to PC via the Sony PC Companion, it only detects my phone as "Sony/Sony Ericsson/Tablet" and not Sony Z3 (D6653) anymore.
Anyone knows how to resolve the issue? best if i can continue to update to lollipop, or if not restoring to the old setting would be great too.
Thanks Guys
Cheers

Hi together,
I installed CyanogenMod 12 on my device, but I want back to stock Android, but after that the flashmode of the device is not working anymore, so I installed AOSP 5.0.2 via fastboot. After that flashmode worked again and I want to flash a stock Android 5.1.1 ftf with italian branding via flashtool. After rebooting, the device stops at the language choosing display, and shows a message for less than one second in italian: "L'applicazione e-mail si e bloccata in modo anomalo" "The e-mail app was unnormally blocked". Then the device reboots again. I tried it with a stock Android 4.4.4 too, but it doesnt work.
Can someone help me please?
Thanks
Kris

Did you try the "Xperia M2 (D2303) 18.6.A.0.175 Central Europe 5 Generic" firmware?
Also, did you try flashing with fastboot?
Is your phone recognized when you connect it to PC?
Use 1 9.18.6 Flashtool for flashing. You have drivers in Flashtool/drivers folder, install Fastboot and Flashmode (disable driver signature verification if you are on Windows 8.1 +) and install PC Companion.
Good Luck!

After you told me,I flashed the "Xperia M2 (D2303) 18.6.A.0.175 Central Europe 5 Generic" first via flashtool and it´s not working, then I flashed it via fastboot and first it looks like it´s not working, because there is a bug. If I reboot the device first the touchscreen isnt working, the display had to turn off, then everything works fine. Thank you a lot. I dont know what was wrong with the other ftfs.
Is the thing with the touchscreen just a bug and do you know how to solve this?

It seems it's a bug, it doesnt the same thing for me. No idea why, though.
You could also just flash the stock 5.1.1 using Sony's PC companion now.
Hello xda it's my first post here
Recently i tried to install on my xperia z5 android 6 by following these steps from the link below:
http ://xperiafirmware.com /8-firmware/108-sony-xperia-z3-e6553 (delete space after http)
In detail, after downloaded Android 6.0 - firmware 32.1.A.1.185 i tried to install it into phone from flashmode with flashtool as tutorial shows.
In flashtool after:
"processing system.sin
Checking header
Flashing data"
the program stacked there the green bar didn't load at all and after 6 hours passed it popes up an error message and phone's disconnected.
After that the phone is acting like video below(rebooting all the time and says "software update fail make sure your phone is connected to computer and try again" )
https ://www .youtube.com/watch?v=Ou0v0ifxzZk (delete space after https and after www)
Any suggestions what's going on ? Is there any way i can fix it?

Your given link shows that you have installed Z3+ fw.
Try to download your model FTF and then flash it with flashtool again.
hi, i was in the same trouble before, i was sacaried with my new super expensive brick jajaja, but i found the solution, just try to flash the generic fimeware and marking all de wipe marks in flash tool, after few attempts it flash the rom and i can enter the phone, if you see the green bar doesn't began to go just desconect your phone and try it again. I solve it in my 4th atempt
PD: forget my english please, i wish it can help you.
Hi, Also got up on the same problem as yours as i've downloaded and flashed wrong FTF model for for my Z5 Dual (E6683).
Just performed the re-flash using the latest Flashtool and the correct FTF for the model, completed flashing and device has returned to normal operation.
Thanks for your help

I have the exact same problem, only it won't do anything when I press the volume down and connect it to the pc. Flashtool won't detect the device. Does anybody have an idea?
Hello everyone!
I wanted to root my phone, following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xa/how-to/f31xx-how-to-root-xperia-xa-noob-t3430170 (by the way you can see the OP's gently trying to help me at page 15)
My phone is a single SIM XA, not ultra (it's the F3111 model), and it's now stuck in a bootloop after I've tried to flash the 33.2.A.3.81 firmware with Flashtool (so... something like the first step of the tutorial?).
here's the Flashtool log (the error is at the bottom, near the end): http://pastebin.com/n724rffm
Any of you guys have any ideas of what can I do?
I'm currently downloading 33.2.A.2.93 firmware to see if I can flash it without any errors.
