Side-loaded input (Chinese) on android wear - Wear OS General

This is kind of leisure review. I don't know how many people will be interested in Chinese input ~
Ok. Why Chinese?
1. I tried to side-load google keyboard, but failed
2. Chinese inputs (also Korean, Japanese etc) are quite different from the transitional English input system though they(we) also use traditional qwerty keyboard for typing.
As a Chinese living aboard, I have to switch between two type of keyboard in my phone which is painful. So far not even one input method satisfied me with both good balanced in 2 languages (phone input).
3. China has been long staying in an non-google environment, therefore their(our) app is specially-deigned for Chinese which you may think is strange or interesting.
Chinese input:
There are varieties of inputs in China (for typing chinese and english). As some of Chinese philosophy, you may find their(our) inputs are integrated with quite a lot of functions (just imagine wehcat vs whatsapp). Some standard features are: cloud dictionary, skin store (can upload/download keyboard skins), changeable keyboard hight, copy/paste/select + arrow functions, night mode (a inbuilt darker skin), voice/handwriting/pinyin/etc, emoij, sound/vibration font&size customization......................also others like floating mode, one-hand mode, swiping..........
I have chosen 3 apps, all latest version: Baidu IME (8.18M), Baidu input (7.26M), Sougou input (19.3M)
Note there is not much difference between IME and input, the 2nd is a branch from 1st one as specifically designed for older people (larger keyboad, easier menu and less wrong typo). Sougou is the currently the one with most population and famous of it's accuracy.
I have slightly change a little setting for watch but most remain default...e.g. there might be a skin with larger board or different key layout...
don't have much time to format my writings, just leave pictures below... and a hurry video.
One more thing, if I was not wrong, the internet connection (online voice, dic download) is not usable.

Video is somehow blocked..... no other way but: youtube.com/watch?v=sMdxK28C55Q&feature=youtu.be
Not ready to give any comments to the pictures and video, just not too bad if only for typing simple words.
But it will definitely disappoint (Minuum Keyboard?) you a lot if you expect too much... are you happy with that? or if you are waiting for a revolutionary watch keyboard?

Hi I'am Chinese too.And I want to ask that how you can run Baidu IME in your android wear.I use the moto360GN2.I have already installed the apk on my watch. But I can not open it on my watch.Neither can 去勾选and去选择.I am so gtateful if can give me some information about it.Thanks!

better input keyboard

I'm trying to find a large screen keyboard that I can use with my fingers instead of the stylus. Can anyone recommend a good one to use.. any freeware or otherwise.
Thanks
I like thumbkeys (or bigkeys) or something like that. It changed name.
Not free, but for me, nicely skinnable, i wrote a skinner for it and made a couple of thumb friendly layouts.
Many similar, but I like this for the effort.

Spb Full Screen Keyboard - it's just been updated to version 3 with portrait (real qwerty, not offset like above) and landscape modes, WM2K3/5 support and a number of other features like spelling correction/learning.
Thanks for that, but I couldn't find thumbkeys or bigkeys on google.
I did come across Tengo Thumb.. I'm downloading it now, hopefully it's good.
If you have a link to your app that would be great.

Just what I'm after... Thank you!!
Sorry, touch keyboard:
http://www.orthancsoftware.com/TKeyboard.htm
mtbsoft: my keyboard layout is not by accident, it's by design.
Print it out and try typing with it using one thumb.
I find it better (on a smaller screen like the Magician) then the standard QWERTY. I also use a fullscreen landscape keyboard using regular qwerty, for two thumbs.
I also did a modified fitaly and some others for symbols, calculator layout for numbers etc. But I use this one daily.
(SPB's fullscreen portrait)
I'm sure most keyboard apps are fully skinnable now though.

[found & share] All for your Chinese_S Input needs under WM 6.5 + Sense

Hi all!
This is a popular question/concern on those forums for WWE EN users, I hope that it will help everyone!
I have been looking very hard to have all the input methods available in my Topaz since I upgraded to 6.5 + Sense.
Studio Kuma's solution is not working since the upgrade(plus it is a very ugly app!)
ZT4 is good, but no handwriting recognition
So, I looked on the Chinese search engine (Baidu, for those who know), and I found some cool stuff, and not even crapware! Very impressed that this exists in China
So, anyway, I am attaching the cabs and a bit of explanations :
- CEPenIM.cab is the handwriting recognition. It obviously needs some upgrading, as it was designed for WM 6 and earlier. So the interface bar is very tiny at the bottom and it is a bit hard to operate. But it works very well. According to my tests, it recognized my pig handwriting without any change ever needed! And hey, that's the only one that I can find, so I won't be picky. Also note that it is veeeeeeery fast.
- sogousip_ppc_sweb.cab takes care of all of your pinyin/stroke entry needs. It is far more attractive than ZT4 UI-wise, with even a dictionary embedded in EN input. Give it a try, you won't regret this
Both were tested in the latest Dutty's cooking environnement (good stuff, give it a try!), and no glitches were detected, aside from the limitations in the UI for CEPen thingy.
I always get Studio Kuma's thing installed for the Chinese fonts as an habit after a flash. I do not know if one of the attached cab got some CH font embeded, and am too lazy to try See if that extra step is needed by testing yourself.
Cheers, and I ll be lurking on the forums, so any question you might have please let me know.
PS : Sorry, it was a lucky catch, so I don't have the original website to link to.
Real Chinese?
Does it do real Chinese (繁體) and is it stable? I'm sick of hard resets after installing Chinese junkware that makes winmo poop itself (ce-star and all the culprits). All Chinese input should support at least CHT but for some reason some of it is just retarded mao stuff.
Thank you .......
Other SIPs
For myself with my Topaz with WM6.5, I've installed the HTC Chinese support to have traditional chinese :

SwiftKey keyboard
SwiftKey is like an English professor is alive and working inside your phone. It’s still in beta, but it’s already an amazing little application. What makes SwiftKey different is its ability to predict the next word in your sentence. Predicting the current word is so 2009! Of course everyone loves things that make our lives easier - things like correctly guessing what word comes next. My only issue (and it's a small one) is that you can't enter words that aren't in the dictionary by pressing the spacebar and moving on. You have to actually tap the word to get SwiftKey to enter it.
To sign up and check out the SwiftKey beta head over to SwiftKey.net. It's really polished for a beta, and to be honest I'm planning on using it as is until they release a new version. At the moment SwiftKey is English only, but the developers say that they plan to include support for all the Latin based languages in the near future. No word on availability and pricing of the final version, but by the look and feel of the application, it shouldn't be too far off. Keep an eye on their site for details, and be sure to let me know if you see it slip into the Market before I do!
Pros:
Amazing full word prediction
Easy to add to custom dictionary
Also predicts punctuation
Special characters are easily entered by long pressing
Cons:
Learning curve
Can be laggy when first starting up
Will always pick the word it thinks is correct, so be careful with the spacebar
ENJOY...(source android central.com)
very nice app it works really good thanks.
Interesting app, thanx.
Official Beta has just been released to the market.
Just started using today,it seems cool just needs more options. Also this happens if I hold down the spacebar:
I am a beautiful person. I am a beautiful person. I am a beautiful person. I am a beautiful person. I am a beautiful person.
LOL.
Sent from my Nexus One
I am using it right now, and I must to say that it is incredible. It makes very
good predictions cause it scan your SMS and it knows what words you use usually,
and what combinations of words... It works very well.
Now I have a problem, I dont know which keyboard is better, SwiftKey or Swype.
I have both and I am undecided...
Thanks for your contribution.
This is brilliant, if only it could be themed but maybe in the final release. The contextual prediction is great and really does suggest sensible next words based on the sentence you are typing! Sometimes it even suggests things better than the word I was thinking of!
I like that it has an English-UK option too so no americanisms and it knows things like British place names etc. Very very impressed

does it require a data connection?

In the permissions, It states "Full Internet Access" as one of the requirments. So I'm sure it needs a constant data connection while you're using it.
I'm more than happy to try this out and see if I can help, but would you mind talking about what translation engine is powering this? Are you aware of it's accuracy? Some of these type of apps suck and will lead people astray.
TIA.
It looks really nice, but isn't this basically the same as Google Translate?
tried it without data connection and it still works.
Uninstalled it after 5 minutes.
I understand that the point of a "Lite" version is that it doesn't come with a complete feature set compared to the version that's for sale. That's fair enough.
However, the way to find out what it will translate and what it won't is not trial and error. The Lite version should indicate clearly what it's prepared to translate, either by graying out the unavailable choices or not displaying them at all. Had I tried to use this in an actual translation situation instead of at home, it could have caused a lot of embarrassment at the very least.
Also, if it had a way to use your voice to input phrases instead of digging through a situational dictionary, it was not apparent how to activate it.
This would be even better if it had Spanish.
works like charm on desire Z
Thanks for the info
this app is good concept but a bit heavy
so keep crashing
also if lite version doesnt support a feature should be grayed instead of exception

What is most important about a keyboard?

Hello ,everyone!

No problem, I am here to help.
For me, ideal english keyboard has numbers above letters for quick access. That's probably all I'm missing in standart Android keyboard.
But if you are thinking in non English world also, there is space for improvement in autocorrect (for example default android keyboard tries to correct every word it doesn't know, which makes autocorrect totaly useless in my language). Also it's really annoying to write special characters (for example á,š,č...), because you have to press letter, wait for a second and than choose from a sub menu. That's actually quite a big delay because you normally have to write many of these characters.
I hope it helps you somehow and sorry for my English.
For me is Accuracy and Predictions.
