Reactivation Lock Bypass - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

Does anyone know if it is still possible to bypass reactivation lock? I'm looking to buy a phone off swappa, and seller says IMEI is clean and I checked it, but that it is reactivation locked. I don't want to buy unless I can unlock it. Thanks.

That's good. Really good. Remember that thiefs are using xda too and if there's a way, that lock would be useless.
Good knowing that no one discovered it...

You can download the firmware from sammobile.com and flash it with odin.

How to bypass?

I was able to bypass the reactivation lock ... however
I can't turn it off now in settings and download mode confirms this.
I can factory reset and also flash with odin but it still doesn't turn off even logging back in successfully and not doing the bypass.
How will todays update that includes updates to RL effect this and my status.
Thanks!

Typically the thieves that steal a phone are dumb and don't know anything about XDA. Activation locks can always be bypassed, as long as the SIM card can be replaced. Top of the line activations are usually bypassed by modifying the DNS to go to a hacked server.
But you would have to replace the SIM card most of the time as it is blocked by the carrier.
There are other ways to track a phone, even if you did flash it and replace the SIM card. It's just a question if the police care enough to go into tracking it beyond the SIM card and GPS signal. Most do not go into that depth unless there was really sensitive data on the phone.

Maybe... But you know that xda is really popular... And that's good, but in that case, if a xda member discover a way, there will be leaks in all directions... And there WILL be users that upload a dumb-proof instructions on how to do it. And that will be bad...

Security always gets bypassed. If you are concerned about the unlikely event your data is compromised you should use a flip phone. If data security is not a concern, theft insurance may be a good investment instead.

Reactivation Lock

Is reactivation lock available on this variant?
Again this phone isn't unlocked and will only run on sprints network
If it gets lost or stolen
You can report to Sprint and they will blacklist the phone and prevent it from being activated

That doesn't answer my question. Besides, when I get the phone, it will be unlocked and I'll be using it overseas on an international carrier, so there is a chance for a thief to steal it and be still be able to use it regardless of it being blacklisted by Sprint.
Anyway, do you or any other owners know if Reactivation Lock is on the handset?

The Sprint S6E doesn't appear to have Reactivation Lock but instead has FRP (factory reset protection).
You can read more about it here:

You won't lose samsung pay for unlocking the device using the tmobile app. It's not touching the bootloader in that way.

That is F'd up dude. If only you lived in California. I believe a state law was passed there that prevents carriers from refusing to unlock devices that are paid for. I'm really starting to despise them more and more. Only thing they are good for where I live is speed and coverage.

You can try this service from UnlockRadar working 100%: https://www.unlockradar.com/service/t-mobile-usa-device-unlock-app-official-unlock
What ROM are you using? In the past I've gotten that message about device comparability before, I was running an international ROM. If that's not the issue, honestly, give them a call back, might take a couple times but I've had different reps tell me different things and often calling back a couple times I'll get someone that is willing to help me.

They can be carrier unlocked after 1 year of service. If you have forgot to reload or run out of minutes, the timer restarts. This goes for straight talk and tracfone (as far as I know).
I also have a J7 Sky Pro and i really need it carrier unlocked and would like it rooted. I am currently figuring this thing out so i may be able to help.
anyone get anywhere on these tracphones yet???
here's a reply to the after one year unlock above, if I wanted to hear that I wouldn't be here. I OWN this phone, I have a receipt where I purchased the phone cash from a retailer. There was no agreement, issued, signed, nor agreed to what I had to do with the phone after I purchased it. If I choose to unlock it and use it on any network I choose including ones out of the USA, that is my business. Now as far as bootloader, ok it's unlocked, now what is the next move here??? Sorry to sound crass but if you can't add to the conversation with REAL information stay on the porch.

Tracfone security is tough. The only possible way to root it would be to find a leaked engineering firmware online somewhere and flash it to the phone. Then try king root. Also, unlocking would be kinda useless for this phone. The bands for this phone do not support ATT or Tmobile. It's a Verizon device since it ends in VL.
Now if you bought the 737TL version, unlocking would make more sense.
I'm samsung illiterate and really need help.
I hope I'm on the correct thread. I really need help. I won't use the correct terminology but hope someone is fluent in dumb blonde. My phone broke so I went to Wal-Mart and bought the j7 sky pro because it said it's powered by T-Mobile and that's my network. After powering on I was told my SIM wasn't valid. I googled the phone and learned about unlocking. So I went on YouTube to learn how only to discover that it's supposed to automatically show a screen asking for an unlock code. My phone however does no such thing. If I purchase an unlock code how do I enter it? It's really important because I have a 3 year old with special needs and in order to get to dr appointments for him we use uber but to install uber on my new phone I need a code to be sent via text and since my network is locked I can't receive texts. This could literally be a matter of life and death for my child. I can't afford another 100 dollar phone and without uber don't even have a way to get to a store to buy one. Any help would mean so much

Type #83865625# (#TFUNLOCK#) and it will prompt for the unlock codes. Yes codes. There should be two of them. As for root, I am working on it. Ive come pretty close already but don't wait for me to do all the work, go find the engineering system or engroot and post it.

Sprint Galaxy s8 sim unlock

Hey there, I want to sim unlock this Gs8 I got from Sprint, Model: Sm-G950U , Software version: G950USQS2BQL1, I received an unlock code but was not able to input the code because it just said sim error contact sprint immediately, Unlocking by sprint isn't a choice as they extorted money out of me, I really want my galaxy s8 to be in service again any Idea where to start? Any help will be much appreciated , I come from a background of good software knowledge so other approaches are good too.
Sprint extorted money out of you?
Extortion is illegal in this country...
Does your phone asks for codes or not?
If it doesn't ask for code you can try the following 3 methods, however, they are not 100% guarantee to work:
Method #1: Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press #7465625*638*# Once prompted for code, enter the 8 digit Unlock Code.
Method #2: Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press: #7465625*638*UNLOCKCODE#
Method #3: Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press: #0111*UNLOCKCODE#
If none of these work, also check if your phone's IMEI is clean and not reported or blacklisted by Sprint.
Sprint phones are usually unlocked one of two ways and neither has anything to do with a code. One is via Sprint with an OTA thing. The other is via root + a 3rd party tool like z3x, Octopus, or something similar.

Need to SIM unlock Sprint galaxy s8 (also fear it may be "black listed" unpaid lease)
I bought the phone from someone and thought it would work but I was trusting instead of smart.. Should've checked it out first. Anyways im negative a couple hundred $$ and I would love if some one would be able to help guide me through unlocking the SIM and if necessary rooting etc. To make it work for my Metro PCS account. In short I need to be able to I assume "SIM unlock" my S8 and hope it'll just be ready to pop my metro SIM into it and it works. Any advice? Will it work if I can just unlock it and use my metro SIM? Or since its an the lease hadnt been fully paid will that be a problem... Ive checked on a couple sites that let you see the IMEI number and if its black listed but it isn't... Please help.

Correct. It IS an advertisement - and not a very good one. He obviously has no knowledge of phones whatsoever if he thinks that Sprint devices use codes
I too have a Sprint phone which I wanted to unlock with the help of information here on the site. Since you won't be able to use unlock codes, and also bcause when I called Sprint they wouldn't help me -told me to contact the seller of the phone to have it unlocked, I was desperate for any unlocking method. Hard to find a working one and didn't want to waste too much time (old Galaxy S5 was already at it's last breath) I made contact with one of the unlockers here on XDA and one was able to unlock it remotely for me. I did pay $15 but with the crappy internet I have and since most unlocking sites are asking $39 for unlocking S8 then I really didn't mind this $15. Took well over a few hours to do since I had to download combination file for my phone which took a while. It's unlocked now thanx to vosi7en here at xda. I do have 1 problem now and that's tethering.....I don't have the option to do any hotspots. Anyone have an idea? I can't root yet cuz I'm on latest Oreo now.

It's not blacklisted, so far so good.
Carriers don't tend to share a block list, if it gets IMEI blocked by a Canadian telco it'll probably only affect Canadian networks. That's why a lot of phones get sold for cheap on eBay, the person broke the contract, it got blocked in their country but they sell it to another country.
