hey guys
i recently tried to flash my asus fonepd 7 but i think i used the wrong firmware vers. i downloaded the firmware from the asus site and renamed the .zip file to 'k012_sdupdate'.zip. i then powered the tablet on and into the droidboot mode, i selected sd update and it went on to flsh the tablet. problem is, now when i try to power on the device it wont switch on but just flash and then switch off. wen i switch it on wth a usb connected it just shows this usb sign with an empty bar at the bottom that goes red after a while. i dont know what to do now please help
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. See if this helps, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2800023 You most likely have to flash the stock firmware to get your device working again.

Hello! I have a huge problem with my tf700t, Windows 8 won't recognise my device. In device manger it just says: Unknown device.
I'v tried to install the usb drivers manualy but it won't work... I just get "can not find driver software for this device" the error device mangere gives me is "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" I also tired to install asus sync....
I'm running newest frimware form asus (4.2.1)
Before i installet the 4.2.1 from asus I was running offical cm 10.1 and everything was working. Then i decided to go back stock because i was going to sell the device. I wiped everything including system to unroot the device. After that I downloaded the firmware for asus web page and flashed it. Everything was working except i couldn't connect it to a computer. So i decided to try to flash a older frimware (4.1.1) but I was not able to get into recovery.
I don't know what to do now. I can't install a new rom becouse i can't connect it to my computer or get ot the recovery. I can also not install a new recovery because i don't have root or adb and fastboot won't work.
Any ideas ?

What you see there IS the stock recovery which overwrote CWM or TWRP when you flashed the stock firmware.
You can use the stock recovery only for one thing: Flashing an official Asus update. The Droid on his back tells you that the stock recovery does not find an update.
So that part is good. You're rom is intact and healthy.
Do you have access to a different computer? Can you try to get the tablet to connect in Windows 7?
I have no experience with Win8 - no idea what the driver problem may be. But that's what it is: You need to find he correct drivers....
I tried with my mothers laptop but that's also running windows 8 but same problem apres, and the other pc I have runs ubuntu :/

Hi everyone,
I have currently some big issue with my GT-N8010.
My custom rom wasn't running very well so I decided to reset my tablet and go back to a new fresh installation.
I downloaded the latest firmware of the tablet on sammobile and started to update it with Odin PC, but in the middle of the transfert I got an error and now my tablet is stuck on the "Firmware upgrade encoutered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.".
I have no idea how to fix it! And I can't go back to download mode anymore. On top of that, my tablet seems not to be recognize by my computer (I tried to install Kies and the samsung usb driver several times but it keeps saying that's the driver is not ok)...
Can someone help me please ?
Thank you in advance!
What custom rom did you had ? 4.4.2 or 4.1.2 ?

It was a 4.1.2 (HD Revolution) and I tried to flash with odin the N8010XXUCMK2_N8010XSACNA2_XSA
First uninstall kies and all usb drivers. Restart your computer.
If you can get in download mode (power+volume down then volume up when asked) :
Install some drivers from the sticky topics here on xda. Download the firmware again from another location if possible. Use a different usb port.
If you can't get in download mode, you have to try with kies. I never had success whit it, and i really need it. But it says that n8010 does not support initializing or something like that. Maybe someone else can help with kies.

I don't know where it comes from...
I tried everything, uninstall/reinstall Kies/Usb driver, put a VM with Win7 (As I am under Windows 8.1), put Win7 in dual boot to maybe fix the compatibility issue but nothing seems to work! And of course I don't have any other computer to use...
That's maybe the reason the tablet get broken as I used to use Odin on another PC and I didn't check if the usb driver was installed on this one??
I just know that Odin recognized my tablet so I was able to launch the installation of the new firmware.
I feel really bad...Hope the tablet is not definitly dead!
Faulty USB cable perhaps ?

Ok so I went to a Samsung store and they told me that I have to send my tablet to the repair center in the country where I bought the device.
It's a big issue for me as I am now living in Australia and my tablet has been bought in France.
On top of that the guy from Samsung explained me that now it's normal if my tablet is not any longer recognize by my computer...
I heard about JTAG, I don't have any idea about the subject but may it fix my problem?
Does someone know how samsung is able to fix the tablet, so I may fix it myself instead of sending to them...?

Hello! You are very welcome to ask your question in the thread that you quoted, as you will most likely get a lot of help from there. It looks like you may have to flash stock firmware to restore your device, before you can proceed to flashing roms etc.
Good luck!
I understand, i only need to know how that works. I tried many way like android multitool and flasher.
Do you have some other sugentions?

Please ask the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503668&page=134 You will most likely get some pointers there.
All the best!
So I got this free Galaxy Tab 10.1, and tried adding a Custom ROM to help it run better, and be able to run some apps that the old android 3 os couldn't run. As of now, it has CWM v6.0.3.6 installed, as well as a KitKat ROM. This ROM seems to have been corrupted, and now the keyboard constantly stops working (receiving constant pop ups about it) and it no longer will connect to my PC via USB, although it still charges when it is plugged in.
I made a mistake when I was installing this ROM, and my backup stock ROM was never loaded onto the tablet.
My original thought was to use the install from sideload option to get a different ROM onto it, but it doesn't detect even in Recovery mode.
Odin does detect the device, so is there a way to use this utility to fix this problem? Or maybe some other option that I'm not thinking of?
Thanks for the help

Greetings and welcome o assist. If odin detects your device then kies emergency firmware recovery should work, that will return your tablet to its original state. The other option is to flash a different rom through recovery, just download it to your sd card and then flash it
Good Luck

I booted the device into download mode, where it is detected by Odin. Kies can tell that something is connected, but it just continuously tries to connect. The device does not have an sd card slot, so there is no way for me to add a different rom to it.
EDIT: Kies does not detect anything being connected at all if the device is booted normally.

Additional update:
By using the calculator app to copy paste numbers, I've gotten the device connected to my phone's hotspot, along with my laptop. Perhaps there is some way to force a file download over wifi? The device shows up in my network places on my laptop, but the folder is empty.

If you start kies and select emergency firmware recovery it will ask you to put your phone in download mode and connect it. Does kies recognise it then?
