If you're looking for my modded modem, click here.
This is a very straightforward thread. I was tired of hunting around for "newer" modems. Additionally, I did partition dumping of 20y and 30f, so I figured I'd share the goodies.
I turned the modems I have into flashable zips and posted them.

Assume NO - why do you want to flash it anyways? You will not find anything fixed, the problems lie in the bootloader.

I'm having signal drop problem with JB and KK modems so I thought i could give a try to 30F to see if it is fixed.

Tried on latest bliss for d800, booted fine but only sensor that works seems to be GPS. Everything else doesn't for me. Flashed back to previous and all is good.

30f but I am on jb sourced ROM so naturally that's expected

Installed 30f in my wife's D800 and everything so far so good. She had some signal problems with GPS nav, lets see if this fixes it. Thanks

Flashed 30f on my d800 running the latest PA (MikeCriggs' 5.1.1 builds). I couldn't get rotation to work. I just want to confirm that it's not patched yet.

I may or may not have a hardware problem, I'm getting intermittent GPS lock loss.
Jellybean: d80010d & d80010o LTE, rotation works, GPS losses lock
Kitkat: d80020c & d80020y , LTE, no rotation and GPS losses lock
Lollipop: d80030f, every 5 seconds, complete loss of radio, rotation, GPS losses lock
I'm on 06/12 nightly, D800, formatted/wiped, gapps-lp-20141212-signed, everything else works. (Same results on older nightlies).
I hate to say this, but is my only option at this point, to flash back to stock and see the the GPS loss follows the hardware and not the roms?
Thanks,
Dylan

Well damn it all to hell. I flashed back to v10d tot stock rom and my GPS still doesn't lock like it should. So it's a hardware problem. That sucks as I love this G2/D800. At least I was able to eliminate the radios as the cause.

Have you tried the good ol' screwdriver GPS fix?

I'm about to use the hammer fix, what is the fix that you speak of ?
OK, I found it, I do dread opening up my G2... we'll see.

Just squeezing (very hard squeeze) the upper right of my G2 screen got my GPS to start locking. So, soon, I'll use my finger nail to open up the G2 and fix the GPS sensor connector. Thanks !

Can anyone tell me which modem and bootloader I need to run a 5.1.1 aosp based ROM on my d800 please? I've been scouring all over xda and have been out of the loop for almost a year. Just dug this g2 out a few days ago while I wait for parts to arrive for my more recent phone. Sorry if this is OT, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

hello guys need help, how to go back to stock specially to d8002y i'm currently on custom rom [simple rom] because i want to update to 30f which requires to be on d80020y. from this thread >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/general/update-to-stock-lolipop-d80030f-root-t3084081

Correct me if I'm wrong about the GPS, but I believe it gets geographical lockon hints from WiFi/3g data/radio towers. If you've enabled everything regarding location. Use fastergps and set your closest NTP server through fastergps. This was a more common problem on older Android phones which were modded or imported.

Just choose a Lollipop (LP) modem and bootloader, most of the regional things just optimise it for common basebands for telco companies in that area.
Although I suggest going with AICP Marshmallow + minimal slim gapps. For the best performance and battery life. Launcher wise a customised Nova Premium (increase icon size etc) + the free Polycon icon pack, for the best user experience and design.

Question for OP
I have a stock LG G2 that has the OTA LP 5.0.2 Build LRX22G Kernel 3.4.0
When I upgrade to CM13 do I need to reflash the radios or change the bootloader so I get all my radios and sensors working?
When I first got the phone it was JB then OTA to KK on the same day, then like everyone else, I had the forced OTA to LP WHICH I HATE!!! I loved my home screen rotation with JB and Kitkat.
If i Could I would have this thing imaged back to KK and lock out OTA so it never changes again. BUT I have taken this phone to Tmobile now and they tell me that TMO OTA will not affect my phone because it wasn't a TMO model.

[!!] Totally bricked?

Hi!
After flashing ZIP with latest P500 recovery from Jenkins CM server I have serious problem.
I cannot enter recovery or fastboot, computer doesn't see any device connected. After turning on the phone I've got LG logo and then a brand new CM logo. Nothing else.
I was thinking about flashing by LG tools, but - as I said - PC doesn't see any device.
What can I do? Are there any keys combinations to enter fastboot/recovery anyway? I've tried Home+Vol-+Power without success.
PS: I'll try emergency mode in few minutes, it must work!
PS2: Flashing with KDZ updater + emergency mode worked!
a little off-topic question: should I have old or new baseband to use CM10.1 nightlies?
You must have new baseband - v20x to use any custom rom based on GB 2.3.3 and above
Means,
Old baseband - v10x
New baseband - v20x
Old baseband roms based on v10x baseband version.
New baseband roms based on v20x baseband version.eg.all ics +jb and some Gb roms.
Hope you understand this and don't forget to hit thanks if i helped you!
@Taranis, even if you are on old base band you can still flash cm10.1 (or any other new roms) by flashing the "old bb fix" after flashing the rom.

Very good
OT:
It isn't good idea to flash a girl's phone with latest version of Android.
They won't notice it in any way. They can't even differentiate between froyo and gb. Or between Ics and jellybean.
Rather than being happy with latest version of Android she will complain of having low battery life...

I was on Gingerbread 2.3.3 for a day or two before my LG P500 got bricked and I agree the battery life drained out very quick. Does anyone know if there is a list of differences between 2.3 and 2.2?
Also, I'm planning of getting another LG P500 but a used one of course, anyone know roughly how much is worth paying for one? Ty.

Worth it to install android 4.4.3?

Hey guys!
I still havent installed android 4.4.3 in my nexus. Reading in different websites I've seen there are many bugs so I was wondering whether it is worth it to upgrade or whether I should stick with android 4.4.2 for now.
Cheers!

always better to upgrade, it includes several fixes that are really helpful.
If you're afraid that you might get any bugs (but I don't think that you will) you could flash the whole stock 4.4.3 image and start from scratch.

Many of those bugs and issues are isolated cases. Personally I'd rather upgrade to an OS that has more fixes, is less Bugless should be more stable.
I'm on the DIrty Unicors 4.4.3 build with Franco R53 kernel and my N5 is performing fantastic. Smooth, stabile, seems even faster, and more fluid transitions. I also flashed the new modem/radio (wasn't in the DU 4.4.3 build) and not that I even had an issue with the last radio, but this one seems to be working great for me on MetroPCS. I'm getting more bars and LTE reception in areas that usually struggle with singnal and my WiFi to data transition seems quicker to.
No to mention that there are all the modems/radios I. A flashable zip through a custom recovey and then you can test to see which one works be for you.
On the other hand... If you find that you don't like it (which I doubt) try a custom 4.4.3 ROM.
I f you have one you could always just reflash a nandroid backup to a previous version 4.4.2
You could also always flash back the stock images to 4.4.2 using the same method that you upgraded to 4.4.3 and there's other method you can do this way without losing user data.
Upgrade and enjoy the latest and greatest on your Nexus5!

Lollipop Released

Hello all, so lollipop is finally released from the atnt website
is it possible for someone to catch it and make it available for a manual update like the previous 20c - 20y update. Most people use other sim cards on the device.
Thanks

That would be great, I also use the D800 without an At&t sim card. I believe last time I used a TOT file and flashed it using LG FLash tool
yeah, but the tot file is definately not out
Yep, I just saw it today on the AT&T website and was about to come here and post the Lollipop news, but you beat me. Here's a link:

It would be super great if someone could extract the kernel from this official AT&T Lollipop. That way, T-Mobile users like me can flash the official T-Mobile Lollipop, then flash the AT&T Lollipop kernel, and lastly reboot. Hopefully, that will result in a D800 running official Lollipop with WiFi calling!

5.1.1 Performance Experiences

Hey guys, I just saw that 5.1.1 has been available for my N915G for some time now. I would like to ask how people are feeling about it in terms of performance? I was on 5.0.1 awhile back and it was so laggy and slow that I eventually downgraded to 4.4.4 (at times, I wouldn't even be able to answer calls because the phone would ring but the phone was so laggy that the screen wouldn't turn on until after they hung up).
I'm very happy with the performance of 4.4.4 now but I do like the features in Lollipop so I just wanted to ask if it's safe to jump back in? I heard that it's not possible to downgrade after flashing 5.1.1 so I need to be sure before taking the dive. Thanks a lot in advance!

Thanks for the reply. Although I am always a little cautious when I hear people say there's no lag at all. I have never had a non-stock Android phone that was lag free (well, with the exception of my old Z1 Compact maybe). Even on 4.4.4 where the performance is far better than on 5.0.1, there is noticeable but tolerable lag at times. But still, I'm glad to hear you're having a good experience on it!

It depends on what version of the Note Edge you're on. Mine is SM-N915G (yours could be 9150, 915F, 915FY etc.) and sammobile.com listed 5.1.1 as being available. Then you need to flash it through odin. There are tons of guides around for that if you do find a compatible firmware for you.
I have 915G. Can you please provide any updated working guide /links?

Well I haven't done it yet myself but I'm pretty sure it works the same way as with previous firmwares. There are heaps of guides here and elsewhere that describe the steps to using Odin such as this one. And get the firmware from here.
Question for the more knowledgeable people: Does the baseband version on my current firmware have to match with the one I'm trying to flash from Sammobile?

Shouldn't matter, it's the "G" that's important.
There is both a Telstra rom and a generic rom of 5.1.1 so you should be good to go.
If you want to get root access you will need to flash a 5.1.1 root enabled kernel however...

Help unrooting and flashing a new rom

Hello, it's been some time since I've last rooted and flashed kernels on my devices. My device is having problems with certain apps and I feel it's time to update my root or change my rom or flash a stock rom etc. Here is what I am using now:
Build: MOAR v6.1 OA6
Software: G900PVPU1BOA6
Hardware: G900P.04
Android: 5.0
Kernel: 3.4.0-3859396
Would you recommend I unroot then flash a stock kernel? What is a new root I can use with this phone? Thanks
I would recommend Odin a fresh stock MM rom. Then boot to the desktop, by pass set up. Go to dialer ##72786# it will do a reactivate and update prl and profile.. Then Odin TWRP, and flash a new rom or your choice.. If you like MOAR then Odin a LP stock rom, and do as mentioned and flash MOAR 7.0 it works best. Right now, I'm running crdroid 3.8.5 baset off of Nouget with 7.1 gapps and it works very well You need the latest MM firmware to run it, and at least TWRP 3.2.1-0-ktle.img If you do flash crdroid download ktledv
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/rom-crdroid-t2860894
First off, thanks for the reply. I really appreciate the help. What's the battery life like on MM compared to Lollipop?
I would prefer to use something like a stock rom but just extremely debloated. I also want to be able to play pokemom go without problems and super su keeps giving me problems when trying to play. Do you know of any setups that would allow for pokemon go and are fast, battery effecient, and debloated?

How's the mm baseband? I know the obvious response is updated is better but I experienced better LTE on the firmware I currently have, no idea honestly other than it's lolipop, maybe ok4? I would stick with Lollipop OK4 and flash MOAR 7.0. I to find better LTE and all around connectivity on Lollipop than MM.. I once again, went back to MOAR 7.0 from crdroid.. Crdroid is a great rom, but battery life, sucks, as well as connectivity on calls and data. When in aroma and you get to the point about the kernel, choose don't touch kernel, and finish from there. I never like MM and those are the reasons why.. Crdroid I flashed was 7.0 but naturally on the MM base band, but it was still the same.
Thanks sir nobody could really answer that for me. I found the ok4 of all lollipop got the best LTE where I live, plus I'm on sprint so I'm a bit restricted on ROMs, unified dev leave some bugs with sprints network but not too badly!!

Thanks! I'll make sure to read which I should use. My daily is still on MM while my old one that's kinda beat up is now on N as it us now the practice phone. Playing with it before Oreo, may stay for a while. And I installed kltespr on both devices as there were still options available for specifically this device with the spr tag. My CM 13 network is fine, no worse than just regular sprint...
Haven't tried the move to either N or O on my daily, worried about the signal discussion. I'll use an old kltespr to test before the newer maintained kltedv if its there probably to see how it goes.

Unfortunately my sprint s5 is one of the phone with that signal issue. I was in the process of changing carrier so to try and fix that issue wasn't worth it for me. My new S5 did not have that issue, when i went to verizon, its a really weird bug.

I think it took a bit to stat with the sprint APN, changed some settings, messed with some stuff, and it seems fine now, I'll have to remember to check back at that before upgrading. I'm on the ok4 baseband
