[Completed] Kitkat.. (let the app free to write on his own directory on Ext SD card) - XDA Assist

Hi to everyone sorry for my bad english...
I'm using Kitkat with no root, so my apps don't have the permission to write on the external sd (excluding the system apps), but i notice that some apps (like Xplore for expample) are able to create a directory in extsd and to write on it, only on that directory and subdirectories.
I'm asking if it's possible to create another directory (maybe by a rooted device) on my extsd to let Other apps to read/write on its own directory too...
It's possible? And how?
Thank you in advice
Bye!!

Hi there,
About what device are we talking about?

X-plore Sandbox (partially solved write problems on ext SD?)

HI to everyone, I hope i'm in the right place,
if' i'm not, sorry.
I've installed X-plore file manager recently and i've noticed thet there's an
internal option to write on sd, this option is called "kitkat sandbox" .
It seems that other app cannot write on it, I'd like to write on that "directory" when i move the sd card
form the phone to the pc, but i haven't found any directory with that name.
Does anyone knows how this tool works?
thank you !

Yes, kitkat has a "strange" access rights management. No write access for user installed apps for the external sd card.
You can read about it here: Fix Your SDCard Issue On KitKat.
If your device is rooted, you can "fix" it like described here: [APP][4.4][ROOT] SDFix: Modify device permissions to allow apps to write to MicroSD.
As long as your device is not rooted, it's a little bit more complex. You have to use a system app ... maybe the stock file explorer will work.
If this doesn't work either, check that the sd card is not "locked" accidentcially.
Can you unmount and remount the sd card in Settings > Storage > ... ?

[Q] saving/moving/deleting files in external card Please help :(

When I'm trying to save/move files in my external card, there's an error appearing. it says "input-output error". When I'm using my default file manager (File commander) to delete some files after restarting my phone, it will come back.
Please help.. What should I do??
Thanks
Are you on kitkat? Because on kitkat, writing/deleting on external SD card is blocked/not allowed. You need root or change something in your build.prop to allow writing to ext sd.

Hard to say as I don't have your device.
Usually you need a file explorer (there are some nice in Play store), which has at least read access on internal sd card and write access on the external sd card.
Then you can copy files. For moving files, you need write access on the internal sd card too ... and depending on the location of the files, maybe root access.
If root is needed, keep in mind that in most file explorer apps, you have to enable root options explicitly and remount the system partitions for R/W (read and write access).
Here is a thread about your device on xda: [GUIDE] Lenovo S650 running VIBEUI v1.5 KitKat (4.4.2).
Thread closed. Thank you.

link2sd manual copy

Hey guys, i need some help with link2sd.
So, if i don't have enough space on the internal storage, but i wan't to install a game which has apk+obb. Where should i copy the OBB files on the phone (where is the link2sd's location for it(?)) or any other ways to do it? I'd really appreciate some help with it.
