[Q] No DMMODE? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

Verizon S6, has no DMMODE??
##366633# does work and has the option to enable, but PC does not recognize the device, any1 else having the same problem?
any ideas how to enable Diag mode on S6?

Having the same issue. Device Manager doesn't recognize the device. It shows up as "Unknown USB Device (Configuration Descriptor Request Failed)."
I tried installing the latest Samsung drivers but that didn't help. Did you have any luck in connecting this?

Just to clarify, do you mean to say you are having the same problem with a Sprint phone?

no same problem in verizon g920v

sprint
sprint ones ##3424# WORK (Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920P), fully working, only thing with those models getting the SPC is a pain.
these verizon ones, well clearly we are missing something. ##366633# / ##DMMODE#, a hidden menu a key sequence any thoughts? nothing on the recovery menu to help either.
back to the drawing broad start fresh... any new mode discovered for Verizon S6?

You mean to say that you've gotten it to connect to your PC properly? As in the USB device shows. Can you tell me what it looks like in Device Manager? What is the Hardware ID in the device properties? Mine is all screwed up, so the only place I could even see a VID or PID is in the device instance Path, as shown in the attached image.

I am curious if there are any extra or different devices than on Verizon model.

I've been trying to unlock LTE Band 3 for a while now.
You can forget about using QPST, since this tool is for Qualcomm processors. Our S6's have an Exynos soc.
@hackerx1001, I'd like to know how you managed to get your phone to work in DM Mode.
Also, was CDMA Workshop working ?

Soc is Exynos but modem may be from Qualcomm. I believe Qualcomm holds some patents for the use CDMA and Samsung may have used modem from Qualcomm for the Verizon variant.
since QXDM appears in Service mode, modem may be from Qualcomm.

Extremely weird stuff going with S6.

Hey, so I just bought a second hand s6. When purchasing I only checked the major hardware stuff like everything in *#0#* and the calling etc and didn't bother to check other stuff which is stupid on my part. Anyway, when I got home and tried to use themes nothing happened. The Theme Store button didn't do anything when I tapped it and still didn't work after I added a samsung account and everything. There a bunch of other issues as well such as all the options in the System Update menu being pretty much useless, they all did nothing when I tapped on them.
Sorta got fed up of all this and decided to do a factory reset. Once I get back into the phone after reset, the screen grid option that you get when you pinch in was greyed out which is really annoying since the 4x4 is just not for me. Then I decided to root it so I can just get a custom rom in and get rid of all these issues altogether but when I got into download mode it said the phone's version is G920P instead of G920F. The guy I bought from said it's the international G920F and it even says G920F in the about phone section. The confusing thing is that it instead says G920P when I get into download mode. I don't even know what it is anymore, is it sprint or is it international ?
Anyway, is there any fix to all the issues I've been having like the screen grid option being greyed, the system updates menu being useless and the theme store not working at all.
Also, what do I do about rooting and roms ? Do I treat it as a sprint variant or an international variant? It'd be a pretty massive bummer if it's sprint since there are pretty much no worthwhile roms for me.
Pls halp
Here's all the stuff it says in About Device:
Model Number: SM-G920F
Android version: 5.1.1
Baseband Version: G920FXXU2COH2
Kernel Version: 3.10.61-5496010

This bad or good ? ;-;
Also worth mentioning that it says 920F on the back as well. Would flashing the whole stock firmware of 920F through odin be a feasible option ? It says 920F on the back so it has to be that variant right ? If this is possible please direct me to a firmware I should flash and a guide of how to do it, bit of a noob here.
Bumping this up before going to sleep, any help would be appreciated, thanks.
When I get mine s6 there was a sticker at the back showing its serial number. It's written on its box also. If you have this you can use Samsung kias to flash the firmware designed for your phone.
There's an S/N at the back, I'm assuming this is the serial number. I want to root and install some custom roms though but I'm not sure how to go about doing that since I don't know what version my device exactly is.
Pls halp
Attached a screenshot with more info. Hope this helps.
I'm not sure what the previous owner did but your device code name zerofltespr is P variant.
I see, so I should treat it as a sprint variant for rooting and custom roms then ? Just making sure before I go through with the stuff so I don't brick the phone.
Also, anyone got up to date links for how to root and install custom recovery on the sprint version of the s6 ?
@Skyrus5150
Download the Phone Info app for Samsung, take a screenshot and post it here.
Settings show G920F, that can be changed by editing build.prop but the back cover shows 920F as well? That's the odd part.
The previous owner has somehow got the device name to show zerofltespr which is a G920P (Sprint). Not sure how he got a CDMA device code on a GSM device.
Boot into Download Mode, see what it says there, that can't be changed as far as I know.
It will show the actual model number, whether it's 920F or 920P.
Here you go, what should I do. Yeah the bootloader says 920p but the back is 920f, maybe the phone was opened or smith.
Pls halp
Downloaded root checker, according to it the phone's rooted as well. Downloaded TWRP Manager as well, should I just go ahead and install custom recovery with it and select S6 Sprint in the device options ?

Rooted with 0x0 KNOX, some dark magic is at work here. Maybe engineering bootloader?
Anyway, just download a G920P stock firmware and flash it. Then proceed to do a factory reset/data wipe in stock recovery and have your phone back to normal, which is a G920P.
Back says G920F, but it should show an IMEI and S/N as well, do they match those of your phone? I'm certain they don't, but still... check.

LOL, the back says 920F but I entered the IMEI into two different checking services and they both show it as a 925F (S6 Edge), this phone is going places.
Anywho, the stock firmware is supposed to be flashed through odin yes ? Could you please link me to a guide and links to download, maybe even let me know which specific firmware I'm supposed to install. Sorry, I'm a former LG user and I have no idea how Odin and all these shenanigans work. Also, the phone will remain unlocked even after flashing stock firmware, yes ? Currently using it in Pakistan.

Samsung Galaxy S7 G930F with G930V Bootloader??

I recently bought S7 SM-G930F, but when I went into it's phone info and recovery, I saw that it has a Verizon bootloader. All the rest is of 930f. even the phone says 930f everywhere. I am not sure what this is. I am also facing some signal dropping issues, especially when I switch on to data network. I did the refurbishment check and it came out clean and original.
Can someone please guide me how to fix this? Perhaps a way to change the bootloader to that of 930F without screwing up the phone?
Please find the pics attached for reference.
Thanks in advance for the help.

you phone is a verizon see the snapdragon chipset and the baseband version
either you have flashed a phone with G930F kernel and rom
or whoever sold this to you tried to scam you
dont flash the F bootloader
Your phone is the verizon version which are much cheaper in comparison to the unlocked exynos variants
Flash verizon rom to get back proper caLL functions

Thanks for the response. I think I got scammed then. Two things though:
1) It somehow seemed to work the 1800 band for 4g, which is supported by 930F and not 930V I believe.
2) secondly, even the back of my phone says 930F .. like everything about it says 930F .. like is even the body changed??

VoLTE & Oneplus phones?

Hi there,
Cutting to the chase.
Australian, use Vodafone AU when at home, but working in the Philippines a lot this year (Smart Philippines), plus travel often to Taiwan.
Need VoLTE for VF AU, would love it for Taiwan (TW Mobile), dont think Smart offers it at all in PH YET, but if and when, would also be great, but less critical.
Currently have a Pixel 3 XL from VF AU, so thats sorted.
Wondering, if I get a Oneplus 7 P, what is likely to be needed to make it work?
Previously had to run custom ROMS on previous HTCs to get non native network support for VoLTE, even then it required the ROM cooker to code it in.
Please educate me!

does *#801# work?
that should be enough to get it working *#800# used to enable the switch, they probably changed it.

there must be a way to enable serial and full-port switch (also the VOLTE switch similar to *#800#)
im pretty sure its a qualcomm / factory mode settings, it must have moved somewhere else.
i cant image oneplus getting rid of it all together.
whats TP debug?
ive sent an email to OP hopefully they can get back with an answer.
i know my pixel3xl enters a qualcom mode when i press the volume up button and have it plugged to my PC (from power off - hold down volume up and plug into PC)
maybe its similar?

But let's say i use this guide...still says u need to enable the volte and wifi calling swiches by going into *#800# in logkit .. but unfortunately op7 pro does not have these option to enable em in the logkit ? So what's gonna happen if u do all that pc connection without using logkit?

you could wait for the MSM tool to be released
if you break something you can always use the MSM tool to repair EFS
pretty sure you can create a backup of efs using fastboot (i dont know exactly how)
I have VOLTE just popped sim card in and it showed up. Didn't have to do anything. 12gb unlocked version on ATT.
Qualcomm drivers don't seem to work with the 7. Can't find the device in PDC after enabling serial & full-port switch.
I noticed compared to the 6, that VoLTE and VoWiFi works for one of my carrier (Vodafone NL) out of the box. The trick that I did on my 6 also made VoLTE work for my other carrier (KPN NL) which doesn't work with the 7 pro out of the box.

Out of curiosity, what was your phone before? Mine is due for delivery today, I have ATT and my phone before is a 6T. Just wondering because I want to make sure I still have VoLTE. Thanks!

did you open as admin? i dont see why it wouldnt work
did you connect phone then open the PDC software?
perhaps we need an updated PDC/QPST tool?
Qualcomm drivers: https://qc2.androidfilehost.com/dl/...4074/QUD.WIN.1.1+Installer-10037.3+Setup.zip?
QPST: https://qpsttool.com/qpst-tool-v2-7-474
try these. they look like the latest versions.
perhaps try a different USB port also.
if this doesnt work, we might have to try and get in touch with the OP and see if they know of any way to get it working.
i dont have my 7Pro yet to try this.
I tried with 2 different computers and I have those exact versions you linked installed.
Yes, I opened as admin.
Yes, I connected the phone first then opened the software. I tried reconnecting with the software open too but also, no luck.
I tried searching for a driver in Device Manager manually by browsing to both the Qualcomm and OnePlus folders.
