Need a shortcut to turn off screen and lock device without touching power button.
GF got use to using the one I put on HTC Inc 2. Looking for one that works on
our Sammy S3 Verizon.

I use Screen off and lock found in Google play store.
Screen off and lock ap by Kattaca is one of the only "real one" of these apps available. The multitude of widgets are useless, they just black your screen. Only problem with these apps in android 4.0+ is there is an instant reflash of the screen when the screen shuts off. This is not an issue with the app it, is a bug in the android os. I personally do not mind because I love the app, get the donate version and be glad you did. I've been in contact with the dev testing on different os's and he is on the issue as soon as there is a fix available.
JustCause,
Screen Off and Lock by Katecca is your best bet. There are many
others but none of them work. Although Screen Off and Lock isn't
perfect its the only game in town if you need a one click to turn off
screen. Here's a link 4U https://play.google.com/store/apps/...reenofflockdonate&feature=more_from_developer
Hope This Helps:fingers-crossed:

Strange issue.
No other report found about the exact same thing ... but about a similar one: LG G2 and the LAG/STUTTERING issue.
There the lag was caused by many installed apps + a lot of widgets on the home screen.
If this is not the cause in your case, please ask in the [HELP THREAD][Noob Friendly] LG G2 Ask any question thread.
There are many experienced users of the same device helping others.
Thread closed and thank you.
Hello. I have an Nvidia Shield tablet k1 on lollipop 5.1.1. Everything is great about this tablet except the touch screen. It is really sensitive. Also, when I am scrolling, it "jumps" and goes faster than I actually scrolled. It scrolls faster than it should. I found this thread on xda. It helped a little with the being too sensitive issue, but scrolling is still really weird. This is my second device since the first one's micro sd card was defective. They both are like this. Is there anything I can do, or do I just have to deal with it?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/general/adjust-touchscreen-sensitivity-t2963326
I was opening a thread with this exact same issue. I'm not on stock though (using the latest CM12 nightly), so I don't seem to have the 'Sensor Calibration' option.
Also the touchscreen seems to register a touch even when the finger is not touching the screen.
On the other hand, if I scroll a very small distance (like 0.5 centimetres) the list I'm scrolling doesn't move at all. This doesn't happen on other devices such as my Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 and is very annoying in some cases (some games, or moving the cursor for keyboard input).
I'll try to record a video of this behaviour.
What can we do to fix this?
Update: found a video (not mine) showing the issue I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08uPtusOJHQ
anyone else with this issue?
I also have this issue on/off sporadically on stock rom.
I'll be scrolling and itll jump back the opposite direction
Its like it looses track of the touch then catches it again.
It's irritating as my S5, Nexus 2012 have no problems scrolling smoothly.
I don't recall the original shield i tested in store to have this issue either.
Currently having amazon ship me a replacement to see if its just limited to the one I received. (QA issues)
Calibrating screen might fix the issues: go to About in settings and tap on model number until the calibration screen comes up. then hit calibrate. don't touch the screen then when it asks to reboot, reboot.

Did it fix the issue I posted the video about? I'm on Cyanogenmod now so I don't have the option to calibrate the screen, but I would consider going back to stock if it fixed this issue...
Calibration doesnt help at all , same issue at brand new k1. Nvidia says thats normal functionality lol
Yeah, very normal for a gaming tablet which would require precision...
Not trying to take up for this thing but I haven't had the first touch screen issue with it . so maybe not all is affected?? I've tried to replicate the issue but just can't everywhere I touch and slide is smooth
You mean it doesn't "jump" like the OP said? I don't seem to have that issue either.
I'm more concerned about the touchscreen's precision, as shown in the video.
Hello everyone,
I recently bought a HUAWEI Mate 9 and I had and LG G4 before it.
Now on both these phones I encountered same issue,
the navigation buttons (soft buttons) (Back,Home and Task Manager Buttons) works well for period of time, then out of no where when I'm clicking on one of them
it stops responding, it just stays clicked as if I was HOLDING the button,
For example , on my Mate 9 , holding the Task Window button will open Split-Screen, but sometimes when I click it once, it HOLDs the button and opens Split-Screen.
Here is a list of the apps on both my phones :
Facebook , Messenger Lite , WhatsApp , Snapchat , YouTube , Aptoide , Airbrush , TrueCaller, 9GAG , CamScanner (Full Version from Aptoide) , BetterNet , SpeedTest , Steam and Adobe Flashplayer.
Those are the apps that I installed , rest is Built-in.
Some may say it's Phone Case, but no, I don't use any phone cases, only thing on my phone is the SCREEN Protector.
Also, NO my phones are Not ROOTED !
And Yes , I tried Wipe Cache .
Hope someone can help me in this.
Thanks for your time !!

I've experienced this and I can tell you, the screen (glass) protector may be the culprit.
It may have something to do with how much moisture from your fingers your glass protector holds. Some hold more than others and the phone may interpret that as you leaving your finger pressed on the soft buttons. It can also happen without glass protectors as well. I just clean the screen (and the buttons) and move on. Sucks that some screens are way too sensitive. I experience this with older phones (Samsung S II) but luckily for me, my current Note 3 doesn't have this problem

Aah I see, I have suspected it has something to do with the screen protector.
I'll try to clean it more often and see if that gives better results.
Thanks mate :good:

This issue is caused by having all of those social media apps installed, they are CPU hungry and they hog the CPU performance, which makes other functions lag and freeze.
Uninstall Facebook, Messenger, Snapchat and Whatsapp and I'll bet it will stop doing it. This is a very common cause of this behaviour on most devices.
Also, the Aptoide app and it's use are not allowed at XDA. It's warez, warez is any software that can be used to steal software and other digital merchandise. Don't come here bragging about getting a Pro version(paid version) of an app from Aptoide. That just tells us that you don't care about stealing from developers, the kind of people that created and operate this website. You basically just said "I stole this version of this app".

I already tried uninstalling apps each on its own to figure which one is the problem, but the issue still persisted.
Also the CPU is Hisilicon Kirin 960 Octa-core, so I doubt they can hog the performance as much.
As for Aptoide thingy, I wasn't bragging, I was just saying what apps I have so I can get the proper help.
I didn't mean for it to offend you or anyone else in anyway.
So far the solution that @ShaDisNX255 offered (cleaning all moist off the screen) has been working pretty well. So I think the problem is within the screen protector itself being very sensitive :good:

With the aptoide thing, the point was that you STOLE the app, the point was not that you were bragging. It means stop stealing apps or get off of the XDA website. Warez and the people using it aren't welcome.
CPU hogging apps might not be your issue but the number of cores does not necessarily mean better performance.
I can show examples of multi core CPU being slower than CPU with fewer cores. I can show examples of CPU with higher clock speed being slower than CPU with lower clock speed. Core and clock aren't everything.

Yeah it's true, many phones like Sammy have big CPUs yet they lag and all....
Anyway thanks for the information :good:
But I think the fix was as @ShaDisNX255 suggested, the screen protector holds a lot of moist on it, and to fix everything I just needed to wipe dry my hands and my screen :victory: :victory:
Hey Everyone,
I recently got Pixel 7 pro and having some issues with the touch sensitivity, after few minutes of using the phone some parts of the screen doesn't work normally with regular touch it needs to be pressed hard to take the input which is really irritating,
I noticed that locking and unlocking the phone fix the issue for few minutes.
FYI... Having this issue with or without screen protector and tried Screen protector mode with turned On/Off
Please let me know if some else facing the same issue and if someone know a fix to this.
Thanks
