[Completed] [Q] razr m wont turn on after super su rebooted it? - XDA Assist

Long story short. I finally got brave enough to root my phone. I did it successfully. then I think I killed it . http://forum.xda-developers.com/dro...-droid-razr-m-xt907-183-46-15-t3030852/page58
Then, while trying to get the Verizon wireless hotspot hack to work following these directions, http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-m/general/guide-faq-how-to-root-boot-unlock-t2869432, I got to step 2 and for some reason the changes wouldn't save. so after doing some searching, I read that another person had tried another superuser app and was able to save their changes. So, I downloaded the superuser app and took off the original super SU. Then I kept getting an error that said, I didn't have root access. So I downloaded the original app. I had before from the play store and proceeded to replace it. The app installed fine and then said that the device needed to be rebooted. I hit okayand the phone turned off.
It never turned back on. Pressing the power button for any length of time will not turn on the device. When I press the power button along with the down volume button and hold them after releasing the Motorola logo comes up and then the phone goes dark again. like it's off. It doesn't have any blinking indicator lights nothing. When it's connected or disconnected from the computer. My PC makes chiming sounds like normal, even though the phone looks like it's completely off.
When I plug it into a charger, it stays completely dark, with no indicator lights like it's off. While its plug-in if I push and hold the power button still nothing. if I push and hold the power button and the volume down button, while it still plugged in,the Motorola logo comes up and then nothing again like it's powered off. The second time I repeat that procedure. The battery indicator comes up showing that it's charging. And just to let you know that the first time when all this happened and I saw the battery indicator it was charged at 80% still, so that's not the problem.
so my question is, did I brick my phone? is it permanently bricked? Is there anything I can do about it? or should I just look for a new one?
thank you for any help you could offer.

Without access to the bootloader it is going to be difficult. I recommend you post your question in the dedicated help forum for your device, in case you can get some help from there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr/help

HELP!! My One X won´t turn on =(

someone out there, please help me. Today when I went out to work I was playing with my phone and then put it away while I was driving. When I got back to it I tried to turn it on but it would not turn on, so I keep the On key pressed for a few seconds and then it turns on.
So I thought maybe the phone needed a restart, so I did. I pressed the On key for a second and then selected "Restart". and it never started back again. I´ve been trying to press the on key for like 1 minute a nothing shows up, I connect it to the charger and the charging led doesn´t light up.
When I connect it to my computer, it seems to recognize something in the task manager as it says "Unknown Device"
Anybody knows a method to make it boot? like a typical "battery Pull"?
Try holding Power key for 10 seconds?

This ^^. or try to boot into recovery (hold volume down, then press and hold power, hold both until the three androids appear. then use volume down to select "reboot"
thanks for the reply, I just tried that and nothing, no light, no led. The capacitive buttons don´t light up either. =(
Try leaving it plugged in for awhile to make sure it's charged before you try to reboot into recovery?

I was thinking an thought. With android, sometimes the phones just get messed around too much. When I had my galaxy nexus, everytime i meet a freeze or something, I just pull the battery and reboot the phone. If the phone is messed up and wont boot. I can still just pull the battery, put it in, and boot into recovery. Now, is there any safe way to do all of this? I am worried about the One X, and still am debating between this and the note, reason being I flash a lot and dunno wat i can do if i really just mess up my phone. Anyone have any ideas?

If you hold down the power button for 10 seconds it will hard reset the phone. This is exactly the same behavior as the iPhone and other phones with a non-removable battery.

I have the same problem, when I charge it the charging indicator doesn't even turn red or green. I tried a wall charger as well as connecting it to my computer. I tried holding the power button for 10 secs, also while holding down the volume down button. Nothing works. I'm going to call HTC tomorrow, and might need to bring it back to the shop.
It always seems a bit finicky to turn on for me. I still have no idea how exactly to turn it on, I jus randomly press the button until it turns on.
Try holding down the power + volume down button.

black screen after downloading custom os from odin due to update

Okay, here is the problem. I have looked around, and this thread seems to be close to what I initially ran into.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2199042
What seemed to cause this was some sort of update verizon was telling me to download, and I kept deferring it until I accidently hit yes. After hitting yes and the update going through, the phone booted to "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone.”, which would force me to restart.
If I used odin's button patterns, I would come across the mentioned route in the thread.
But the route I went (because I assumed it would work) is download what was prompted as a "custom os" as opposed to denying it and (I'm assumed based off the thread just posted) starting the phone up. After an hour long car ride, leaving the phone alone and apparently "downloading" the custom os, my phone turned off.
Now what I am facing is only a red led when charging (which is normal when charging while off), but when using any odin button pattern, my phone simply vibrates and nothing more. Nothing on the screen, even when pressing the power button itself. It just stays pitch black. I have no clue what has happened. Any possible suggestions? I tried with battery out, charger in as well as battery in, charger out, and charger in, battery in.
If you plug the phone into your computer and power it on/attempt to enter Odin, does your PC recognize it?

Actually, plugging it into my computer just keeps making it vibrate as if it is starting to power on. I can't even get into odin or even a screen coming up for that matter.
Hey thanks for the help! I figured it out. I guess the battery was incredibly depleted from leaving it in download mode in odin. I charged it up and after a few hours, the power came on. I followed the guide in the thread I posted and it worked like a charm. Sorry about the confusion and I greatly appreciate the help. Thank you!

[Q] Constant vibration

Hi everybody!
I checked through all threads here about my problem, but could not find a solution.
One day ago the battery of my tab ASUS TF700 fully drained.
So I connected the tab to the charger and in some time tried to turn on it.
Nothing happened, it just started vibrating constantly.
The only method helped me stop vibration is hard reboot (power + volume).
When I hold only power button it stops vibrating for a second, make short vibration, again pause and then starts vibrating.
Connection to the monitor by HDMI didn't show anything.
I didn't do any updates right before this accident.
No root, no unlocks etc.
Please help me, I am desperately frustrated.
PS. there are some old trends with the similar problems, but without solutions.

Can you boot into the bootloader?
Push and hold Volume Down (left side of the rocker) and Power. The tab should vibrate twice, let go when you see tiny script and three icons.
Push Volume Up with the RCK icon flashing. If you get an Android falling over with an exclamamtion mark, you're good: your stock recovery is working.
You probably corrupted your system when you let the tablet crash in the middle of something. If the stock recovery is still working you can re-flash the firmware. Let me know if you can get there and I'll tell you how.

Hi,berndblb!
Thanks for advise.
Unfortunately my asus doesn't stop vibrating when I push and hold Volume Down (left side of the rocker) and Power.
So there are two options:
1. If I push and hold Volume Down (left side of the rocker) and Power,
then it stops vibrating for a while, makes one short vibration and continues vibrating constantly without any interruptions.
2. If I push and hold Volume Up (right side of the rocker) and Power,
then it stops vibrating for a while, makes one short vibration and finanlly stops vibrating. One trick: I have to push and hold till the moment when the device makes one short vibration, and only after the moment when vibration stops finally I can release the buttons.
That is all I managed to discover pushing and holding buttons.
Sorry friend, I think your tablet is hosed....
Pushing Power and Volume Up (right side of the rocker) should get you into APX mode, which is usually the last thing working if everything else is messed up.
But even if you get to APX - it's useless unless your tablelt is unlocked and you previously created your device specific nvflash blobs.
I'm afraid a new main board is your only option....

I have finally won
The solution was simple:
1. I let the tablet vibrating till the battery totally discharged (it took the whole night).
2. Vibration of course stopped.
3. I charged the battery a little and switched on the tablet.
4. Tablet launched in normal regime, all data and system were saved, even after I tried to make a hard reset (I suspect it didn't work out).
After that it only once rebooted without any reason, but that's all.
So several days passed, the tablet works without any problems.

It is good to hear that you have your tf700 back....:good: Thanks for the report back...
BTW, are you going to unlock your device and generate the Nvflash blobs? If it occurred once, It could come back again and hope for lucks again... Just my two cents..

Z5 hard bricked? Xposed?

So, phone was working great for a while. After the Camera 2.0 was working with xposed, I decided to flash xposed. Right after installing it, it started randomly rebooting, a lot. Like, whenever anything intensive was happening. About couple days later, I decided it wasn't worth it anymore and I ran the xposed uninstaller and cleared the caches.
It booted up okay. The launcher was pretty sluggish though. I opened up an app and I just got a black screen. Nav buttons were still there along with the status bar. Nav buttons were non responsive. Status bar could be pulled down though. I clicked settings, just to do something. Settings also didn't open. I hit the power button to do a restart, and selected restart. It just hung there for a couple of minutes. I forced a shutdown with Vol Up + Power. It did the three short vibrates and powered down.
Now, it won't power back up. Literally non responsive. It doesn't get to the Sony logo, it doesn't vibrate, screen doesn't turn on, and no LED status light comes on. I plug it into the charger, and no status light comes on. I tried Vol Up + Power again, and still nothing. I can't get it into fastboot or flash mode, or have it give any indication that it is alive. I tried pressing and holding the power off button by the SIM tray and get absolutely nothing.
Any ideas?

FOR ME, XPOSED ALWAYS DAMAGED SONY STOCKROM BEYOND REPAIR SO I ALWAYS HAD TO REFLASH,
but with you it seems extreme
1. holdin power and volume up button for 15 seconds should jerk device thrice and you device will go in to shutdown mode. try connecting to flashmode now
2. if (1) isn't working then old sony ion trick might do the magic, rubber band your z5 across screen horizontaly in a way that volume DOWN BUTTON is pressed for atleast 8+ hourse (over night) , this will DRAIN your battery fast and let motherboard clear the code. then put it to wall charger for over night! after 1+ day it should start giving you RED led / blink which means battery is extremely low. later you will get constant red led and finally you will come to stage where no led will be present. AT this point unplug and try connecting you device to FLASHMODE
3. Also remove sim tray during this process and next to SIM tray there is RESET button (musshy black or yellow soft button) , should be pressed with some soft pointy material ( see attached foto of my z5p)

Power Button Issue

Good day guys.
I suppose most of hammerhead owners are familiar with the issue of the power button.
Well I'm beyond that. I accidentally dropped my phone from a 2 meter high spot, fortunately my case is strong, but since then I experienced a very weird issue, I didn't find anything similar online.
So my issue is that the phone reboots, but how's that different from the common issue?
Well when charging or plugged in it doesn't reboot. When a task such as music playing while not plugged (even silently, which is my solution for now), the phone doesn't reboot. But if there's no task running, if you press the power button putting phone to sleep, if the sleep lasts 2 seconds or more the phone immediately reboots.
There's no bootloop or anything.
I know the issue needs my to open the phone and fix the button, but I wonder why only while unplugged only.
Thanks for your time
I had this same problem. I immediately enable usb debugging, then ripped out the power button. before i ripped it out, it got stuck and was rebooting like yours was. now, if I want to turn it on, all i do it connect it to my pc while holding the volume down button (this accesses the bootloader), open cmd on PC, fastboot reboot, and its on. Sadly, this was the only way for me to continue using the phone. Such a good phone.

You said you dropped your phone and started experiencing weird things. It's hardware. Your power button might be messed up. Replace the power button (needs to be done professionally.)
