Fast battery leaking on S2 Plus, help - Samsung Galaxy S II Plus

Hi ! I've recently bought a S2 Plus (not new) from somebody. All good until I hit "RESET DEFAULT"... Of course, I had to reset the phone to delete all previous data and settings. From that moment, my battery started leaking very fast, even if I'm not using it (standby). At battery stats, it looks like Android is consuming 51% (a lot more than any other app on the phone). What is happening ? I can't imagine what could it be. Please, help me !
** I will attach a screenshot from battery stats

Now I installed Greenify and it's the same.

maybe you should buy a new battery ?

Power Drain on core 2 ? Is related or not

Hello : Im runing core2 on my wizard . After upgrade a starnge problem hapens .
When i charge my phone to 100% the power starts to go down...its 1 MINUTE to drain.
If I dont charge to 100 % everything is ok.
HELP...
There is no powerdrain on Core. It has the best battery life for long time.
Please be sure that you don´t have:
- a corrupted Extended.Rom
- no third party program running in background
For me there are no problems with battery - it even last for 48hours and more.
The only program i have is spb weather.
I already updated twice.
Thnks
yes the problem exist with g4 device and ext_rom (my was not corrpted and drain)
but i think i solve this, need just one day to be sure of this and i will post here
How do we say that i have a corrupted ExtROM? is it if its unusable? or if you see a unknown charcters (&*W%#@$&) files inside the ExtROM?..
if you only can see this bug files and folders yes, its corrupted

When I first looked at your name I thought it said GrandWizard. Where I'm from in the south, that ain't good.
If you have a corrupt extended ROM, just flash your latest carrier ROM and then reflash your choice of WM6 ROM's using whatever method works for your G4. It should be OK after that.
Thnks but mine is G3...

I kinda disagree...I myself have probably the worse battery drain ever, but have learned to live with it, since my MDA is usually attached to an charger majority of the day anyway.... I have an G3 device myself, and have used many, many, many different roms, and only till I got to WM6 not just Xplorer 1.x or 2.x but all of them i have had battery drain, but im not tripping on it, its not that serious as I say my phone stays on charge most of the day.
Just last night for the first time I didnt charge it over night, it was at 83% before going to sleep around 1 something in tha morning, woke up at 9am and I was at 47% battery life, device in sleep mode and recieved 4 emails and 2 missed calls. I have read that power drain may have something to do with storage card and email attachments, but not sure of my case, not too serious of a problem for me to change.
Iulian, you can please pack our test from yesterday and upload for everyone here test?
at now i dont have anymore problem with drain! so i think my crazy ideia realy solved the problem
Hello : Where can i get the last oficial imate w5 rom ? I will upgrade with this rom and after core again.
Thnks a Lot....

Completely drain your battery to zero till your phone shuts down on its own and then charge it without disturbance in switched off mode till it shows 100%. If that does not help flash stock 2.3.6 firmware again....

I too agree with him.... follow the steps told by him and
Charge your battery in cycles ( mostly from 0(or 10%) to 100 %) in "off mode" ( recommended by most of xda members)
lithium batteries dont like heat save from high heating...
This will longer the life of your battery and give you a boost..
my battery is fine..its not evn 2 years since i bought my phone..completely draining the battery nd then charging it it switched off mode also didnt workk...what shud i do?
if still u r facing problem in battery draining.......
change ur firmware to ddkq5 or 2.3.4
or ddkt3....
or flash any custom rom
Does extremely cold/hot climate also affect battery performance? If yes then how can we maintain appropriate battery temperature?

That battery callibration is a hoax , it has no effect whatsoever .
First check if your battery is in proper condition ; if there is a buldging in between , causing battery to rotate when kept on a straight surface and given a torque , then you will have to change the battery
if the battery is proper , see what is taking your battery , maybe delete and freeze some apps which you don't use , delete widgets , live wallpapers , keeping tab on wifi ,bluetooth and gps

I have the same condition as you'res so I use a Nokia battery of a Nokia fone and I attach a cut-refill for battery to stay in place...Samsung batteries in India don't last longer than a year or 2...I also have galaxy fit from 2 years. If u don't want to replace you're battery then get the paid version of app called power max it is a lot better than any juice defender or other....also try installing a cyanogen ROM as that will consume SIGNIFICANTLY less amounts of battery.... Press thanks if it works

[Q] Volume decrease and worse battery life after Lollipop update!

So is it me or did the volume decrease with lollipop?
On KitKat i somehow got the feeling that the overall sound volume is much higher, especially while listening to music over the speakers.
Also my batterie life got really worse with lollipop, but i wont judge now since the OTA came in two days ago.
Still, somehow i miss KitKat already and find myself looking for a downgrade. I'm on the Z3.
I would be glad, if you tell me your thoughts on that one.
I just clean flashed 5.0.2 and got a device which has way better batteries now than after an OTA update. Try that.
After clean flashing, my battery life has increased soooooooo much it's insane I actually don't understand how it.can be so good

I've been on stock rom now (updated using pc companion on the same day lollipop came to our devices). My battery life gives me max 4 hours of screen on time with moderate usage.
So my question is, did you just do a simply factory reset through the settings menu or did you flash it as a rom?
I'm just curious as I've lately noticed that by the time my phone goes from 100% to 85% I do only have 35minutes of screen on time. On my lg g2 I could go from 100% to 90% and have 1 hour screen on time...
Guess I should have done a factory reset long time ago... I'm about to root my phone and flash cm12.1 anyway, but wanted to get someone who clean flashed incase I want to go back in future.
@Sindroid Hi my fellow Bergenser. I'm also from Bergen but stuck in Sweden, my wife is Swedish (got caught in the Swedish trap.) How did you clean flash after the OTA? just a standars factory reset? did you wipe the internal storage too? e.g camera pictures and media etc?

No, a factory wipe won´t do justice. That will just wipe your phone clean and the OS will remain the same.
I am talking about Flashing a stock FTF.
You need D6603_23.1.A.0.690_Customized_NCB.ftf
And you need Flashtool to flash it..
Back up what you can that is internally on your phone. IF you have File Commander you just use that to move all stuff from Internal to SD.. Your SD Card will remain unharmed during flashing process but you could remove it during flashing to be on the safe side.

How did you manage to have that screen on time? Are there any tips you can provide us, please?
I noticed a weaker battery life directly after upgrade (by ftf without wiping data) but it went back to normal a couple of days later... I guess just patience is needed.

Yes, but have you seen @shakerist screen on time? 12h is too much! I wanna know his secret!
Yeah, noted that...
Never paid too much attention on screen time. I get about 1 1/2 days with normal business use (mostly phone, mail and web) which is pretty good.

Can you provide us what tweaks/apps/modules/configs you are using? Because I've checked many Z3 users and none of them can replicate this on-time screen. We get usually between 5-7h on-time screen with 24h+ battery usage.

Plz help me .. i've some question for my s7 ...

I'm using my Galaxy S7 since august 2016 ... working by marshmallow
1. Suddenly i've noticed it gets v.hot by normal using in few minutes and of course battery drains fast during that !!! It never gets that degree of temp. ( no new apps installed or system upgrade )
Plz help me wht is that ?? I dont want my mob get hurt by this temp.
PS. Other times it works normally with no heat up ..( same condition .. may be a ghost lol )
2. Is it better to do upgrade to nougat 7.0 nw or wait as i heard problems with it on s7 ?!!!
3. Should i do factory reset b4 or after system upgrade or no ???
Thanks
Depends i upgrade it to nougat with smart switch smart switch put i to factory reset. Maybe you applied an app that runs the phone hot. Nougat is fine for me no troubles maybe because it installed on a clean phone. Only thing to install all the apps again is a pain in the *ss.
Good day.
For me Nougat is better than Marshmallow, and i have no issues.
I can make a sugestion, if you do not want to upgrade to Nougat. You could install Gsam battery monitor, the program says the apps that are always running in background and consumes too much battery and heats the phone.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm
Then you could use Disable service to temporarily disable the apps that consume too much battery. (I do that with Facebook and Messenger)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice
Hope it helps

I did a factory reset before upgrading. I think it is safer that way. I backed up my stuff before, with smart switch. It has an option to backup to the SD card.
That i really don't know, depends what you have damaged, Galaxy S7 has a heatpipe that if it is damaged or out of the place could lead to the components to be hotter.
Look at this link.

Android system+OS battery drain

Hey guys
At the beginning of my use of the OP the battery was really impressing, I also managed to reach the 7 Screen. The last week the battery has started to disappoint me, I thought at first that maybe the fault was that I was browsing too much on Facebook but i found out that Facebook is not at all causing the sharp drop in screen hours.
Android System and Android OS are my biggest waste of battery and come out in 3 1/2 hours of screen time. What can be done to improve it?
Man that's bad, i one played almost all day Kingdom Rush and world of tanks and my battery was still over 6h screen time. i don't know how that was possible

How it's your screen off/active graphs?
Are you phone rooted? If yes, you can install BetterBatteryStats to see what alarms/wakelocks are waking up the phone when inactive or find the app that are draining battery.

Try to disable bluetooth before restart and see the battery life. Maybe it helps
Hi!
I know that this will be a little bit clunky but i had the same problem (and lagg issues too) when i update from 9.5.8 to 9.5.9. The only solution was reboot on Recovery Mode (you can activate the advance power option from developer settings) and clear/wipe the caches and dalvik.
I dont know in with version of OS are you but with Oxgen Updater (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater&hl=es) update to 9.5.10 and reset caches.
Hope can i help!

Yes, im on 9.5.11. Always, after installing a OTA, I wipe caches. My OP is giving me arround 7 / 7:30 hours screen on time. Its simple and works for me!
